Aurora Chase From Tromso With Photos

Sweet, caring, passionate. It was our first time chasing Aurora with Daniel, and we couldnt ask for better captain! Besides the experience of the phenomenon itslef which is stunning of course, we met an awesome human being, Daniel, which will take care of everybody, checking in every moment he possibly can, and sharing his knowledge and experiences. Our favorite Norwegian is Daniel! Be prepared for Choco drink, tea, muffins, bananas and winter dresses!

It was very cloudy when we started but Daniel didn't give up on finding open sky's so we could experience the northern lights. We traveled many miles but were rewarded with a magnificent display of the lights. Well worth the extra miles

We joined the aurora tour on 10 Sept. Daniel is very experienced and knowledgeable tour guide. He gave us the aurora updates and brought us to chase the aurora all the way. We are very lucky just started autumn seasons we managed to see the dancing aurora.

Daniel was the most amazing guide we could have asked for. We did not have the budget to go on multiple tours, so we selected Flexitour, because Daniel will move you to another day with a good forecast if possible. This is exactly what happened. Not only did Daniel move our tour to a clear night with the most incredible Aurora displays, he went above and beyond to make it work with our travel plans. He offered us the change when he received the forecast shortly before we boarded our flight into Tromso. He picked us up directly from the airport, gave us food, water, tea and hot chocolate (we were not expecting to go on the tour when we were preparing for the flight earlier in the day so we were quite hungry and thirsty) and dropped us directly to our accomodation at the end of the tour because we had luggage with us. He was a positive, kind and considerate person who was a joy to be around during the tour. Do not book with anyone else.

Danielle is very friendly and professional. Due to extreme bad weather in Tromso , he managed to drive us to Finland and found a clear sky to watch the Green Lady. He kept us updated during the ride on the probability of seeing the aurora. He took picture for us and time lapse videos that we can download later. He is very thoughtful with plenty of fruits and muffins provided to his guests. He is really concerned about the safety of his guests. Instead of dropping us at the standard drop off points , he drove everyone back to their Airbnb which is greatly appreciated especially during a cold and rainy night which isn’t easy to get a taxi. One of the guests had joined Danielle’s tour for 3 nights in a row, I am sure he is very happy with his service. I would highly recommend Flexitour .

We are 4 60+ couples on a birthday celebration trip. We booked a private tour with a 16-seater bus as we expected to travel up to a total of 4-5 hours. The communication pre-trip with Daniel and Stine was smooth and timely, we were well preparec in advance. Daniel picked us up at our accommodation, and decided where we’d go based on consultations with the apps and his friend guides. After about 90 mins we parked at a deserted spot, where the sky started to clear and the aurora started to show. Daniel set up his camera for time lap photos, and then us for portraits with the aurora. Afterwards he made a little campfire so that we kept warm, and gave us hot chocolate and tea. After about 2 hours the aurora was getting weaker so we set off for back to Tromso. He was still hoping we’d get some more - and alas, after about 15 minutes driving he saw new activity, so we stopped and saw the aurora dancing!! It was magical, Daniel the drove us back, and then sent us the photos and videos the next day.

10/10 THE BEST TOUR EVER. It was just perfect. Amazing Northern Lights experience with Daniel! His communication was excellent from the start, and he was very flexible with last-minute adjustments based on the forecast to give us the best chance of seeing the aurora. The small group (only 8 people) made the experience very comfortable and personal. He prepared everything—thermal suits, chairs, snacks, drinks, and even a fire—so we could stay warm while waiting. Throughout the night he kept us updated on the aurora conditions and shared interesting local stories. What really stood out was his dedication. He made sure we stayed long enough to catch the best lights, and when we spotted more aurora on the drive back, he immediately turned around and rushed us back up the mountain so we could see even more. Super professional and genuinely such a nice guy. If you’re planning a Northern Lights tour in Tromsø, I 1000% recommend joining Daniel!

We had the best time with Daniel! He is very kind and very knowledgeable. Before the tour we booked, Daniel contacted us as he thought the date we chose was not ideal and offered to change the date to a better one. During the tour Daniel was amazing very informative very nice. We were able to see amazing Norther lights. He took us to the right spot. He kept track of the conditions to make sure we were at the right place at the right time. We were so happy that we decided to book it again and that gave us even more spectacular viewing.

Daniel is so popular in Korean tourists. I visited Tromso in Feb with my daughter. She really wanted to see the Aurora. It was perfect night with clear skies and Daniel knows best place to see the Aurora. He was so kind and told us a lot of interesting stories about Aurora and Sami people. We saw the Aurora vividly and its magnitude was about 6 or 7. We saw the pink color and Aurora dancing😊 Perfect night and lifelong memories with my daughter. I surely recommend his tour!

Daniel was so so thoughtful and an amazing guide. He was so keen to give us the best experience and he did not fail. Whilst other tour operators were taking their guests home he checked the forecast and said we would be in for a great aurora. When it came it was amazing and we even stopped one last time and caught another set of dazzling and dancing lights.

Trust me, this is the best investment of your trip; it's worth every penny. Daniel is passionate about what he does and will try his best to show you the best Aurora experience you can have. We made 4 stops, went all the way to the Finland border, the tour lasted 9 hours, and we were graced more than once with the spectacle of nature. Nature plays a part, but without an excellent guide, knowledgeable and passionate about his work, this wouldn't be possible. Daniel was very kind and ensured our safety, heated transport all night, warm clothes, food, hot drinks, incredible photos and videos, and bathroom breaks. You can book this tour with the certainty that it will be your best experience in Tromsø.

We had a fantastic experience with Daniel our guide. He was very informative about how the Aurora may happen, how the systems work and how it is updated for 40 minutes only. He read the sky so well stopping to explain what might happen and he was 100% right. We sat around a lovely fire warming ourselves with hot drinks, muffins and fruit, which were on offer all the time. We were given warm suits to keep warm. Even on the way back he stopped the bus for us to see the amazing lights now coming from the south I would highly recommend this tour with Daniel/ Flexi tours.

This was a fantastic trip and one of the highlights of our trip to Tromso! Daniel is a fantastic guide. He works tirelessly to optimise your chances of seeing the best lights. We were lucky and had excellent activity on the night we went and saw some truly specular lights. I would highly, highly recommend booking with Daniel. This was going to be the highlight of our trip and it did not disappoint. We selected this tour after a rigourous and intense research process. This one ticked all our criterias. The guide Daniel was a fun and attentive guide. He made sure to take of everyone and ensured our well-being throughout the trip. He is knowledgeable about the Aurora and their patterns/behaviour but at the same time he managed our expectations. At last, we managed to catch a beautiful display of dancing lights that spread across their starry sky. It was a magical night that we will definitely remember forevery.

Danielle is a great light chaser! He selected the best location, best spot and waited for the best time to see the northern light. We were all amazed when we saw the dancing northern light with our own bear eyes!

There are lots of Northern Lights tours to choose from and we agonised over which; but we really wanted to give ourselves the best chance of success and that's exactly what Daniel is so good at. He's well versed in understanding the science, the data and most of all nature. When you pay a lot for an experience, you hope the tour guide will be knowledgeable, charming and hopefully funny too. Daniel is all of those things and he gives the honest impression that he cares about giving you the very best experience he can while setting your expectations fairly about what your chances are. While we were extremely fortunate with clear skies and amazing solar activity (Jan 23rd), you still want someone with Daniel's skills to give you the best of chances. My advice, don't book a large bus tour, pay more for a minivan tour, ideally this one. Then enjoy Daniel's company, muffins, fruit, hot chocolate, fruit tea, cosy suits, warm van and fire. There is no lack of effort, excellent care over bathroom breaks, plus multiple photos and timelapses all included! If nature provides, you'll have an awesome time. If it doesn't, Daniel will do his very best for you regardless!

This experience was outstanding! Our host was knowledgeable and friendly and so passionate in ensuring we maximised our northern lights experience. The thermal suits were a great touch, ensuring we were comfortable throughout the experience. I’d highly recommend this experience!

The weather was supposed to be cloudy so we were optimistic. Our host was excellent, explained how the aurora works, super knowledgeable and friendly and the warmest of individuals. His planning resulted in us seeing the lights on three planned points, each time we were blown away, the second time was special - we got to see the lights dance with the naked eye. Lots of memories made all down to this tour and the fantastic host. The finishing touch he dropped everyone back at where they were staying and insisted everyone take some treats with them. Highly recommended.

We left in very bad, snowy and stormy weather, but Daniel knew what he was doing! He checked all parameters and shared all info with us on cloud coverage, auroral activity, weather, magnetic changes, etc. - it was very interesting. It was a true challenge, but Daniel found us the right spot at the right time to see an aurora! Amazing. And he was just as happy and excited as us, truly dedicated! Daniel never gives up, while basing his decisions on real-time data and through exchange with his fellow guides (they kept updating each other the whole night via phone). Chasing the Northern Lights in Tromsø was a truly memorable experience for us. Our guide, Daniel, was extremely experienced and knew exactly where to go to maximize our chances of seeing the aurora. Daniel was so kind and friendly, and made sure to keep us warm and comfortable during the journey to see the northern lights. He also made sure we had enough snacks and drinks to keep us well fed. He drove us a long distance towards finland to get to a good spot with least cloud cover and medium chance of northern lights, and we were lucky enough to get amazing views of the lights! And lastly, he took amazing pictures of us and incredible videos of the lights! Highly reccommend.

Saw the lights when we were not expecting too - Daniel is really helpful and caring with good explanation given from start to finish - he brought olenty of snacks fruit and muffins as well as hot drinks . He took lots of photos which he emailed to us the following day - we lit a campfire and sat and warmed up after he took us into Finland to see the lights , I would highly recommend Daniel

200% recommended. Daniel was tireless in his search for auroras — we drove towards Finland, and along the way we found one already active, but that didn’t stop him from continuing to the final destination where he believed we might find more. Friendly, attentive, and always concerned about the clients’ well-being. When we stopped to wait for the auroras, he made a campfire, provided chairs and blankets, and offered hot drinks, muffins, and fruit. Worth noting that the minibus heating was always on and the door kept closed while we were waiting, allowing anyone who felt uncomfortable with the cold to step inside and warm up. At the end, he dropped all clients off at their hotel or as close as possible, given the road conditions. An excellent experience.

Be prepared for a long night especially if weather conditions are not optimal. Daniel tracked and found the multi colored lights chasing them through Norway and Finland. An exceptional experience by a truly professional guide. Daniel truly wanted his clients to have a wonderful experience on his tour and we did.

Wow, just wow. Perfection. Daniel is the most genuine guide I have ever met. We went with our family, and he was so engaging, so genuinely focused on our seeing the aurora (we did!) and that we were happy and comfortable. We were the last bus out - there were about 7 of us, which made for an even more engaging experience. The weather was touch and go, so Daniel kept driving around to help us see max aurora. He was the last tour bus on the road at the end of the night. The warm winter suit, reindeer skins, fire, choco drink and tea as well as the muffins plus the knowledgeable guide made this truly one of the best experiences of our lifetimes. Daniel rocks.

Daniel made this trip a memorable and amazing adventure! We went out last night and although the weather conditions were not optimum, Daniel was unrelentless and after many hours of waiting (patiently), we saw some flashes of green aurora that were fleeting at times. We had a wonderful experience. Our guide, Daniel was knowledgeable and kind. The northern lights were amazing and he took pictures and shared them all with us to download and keep. The snacks were great and the campfire was really fun. At the end of the tour, he dropped us off at our respective lodging places. We totally recommend this tour.

We lucked out and aurora came out within 30 minutes of beginning the tour. Daniel was an incredible guide, exceptionally positive and showed such hospitality. We went in a smaller minivan and prefer this more rsonal experience over a big bus chase. Daniel found a great spot with views of the fjord and mountains, and we all enjoyed the lights for nearly 4 hours with fire and snacks. Highly recommend!

This is my second time booking with FlexiTour, after how positive my experience was with Daniel the previous time. Luckily, this time I got Daniel again! (I think he is the only guide for this company.) Once again, very very positive experience - he continued to be extremely dedicated to providing the best experience for all of us. While most of us are seeing the lights for the first time, it is very funny to see that he was still one of the most excited ones, and even after chasing the lights for a few hours. As always - dedicated - we were troubled by a cloudy night, but he drove us all the way out to nearby Finland just to get a clear view of the lights. By this day (my second booking), I have already tried 3 companies for chasing the lights and I can safely say that this tour is already the best you can get (of course if your guide is Daniel!)

My guide, Daniel, was really fantastic and dedicated. I really respect him for handling the entirety of the tour group by himself - setting up cameras, setting up fires, distributing thermal suits, taking photos for us (and I assume he even did the processing of the photos and videos himself!), and even set up chairs and nice reindeer skins for us to sit on... He was extremely dedicated to providing the best service, and despite all the effort he does not shy away from changing locations time and again just to get the BEST view of the lights. And it's not for him - it's for all of us!! I am glad I put this as my second night of lights hunting, which gave me an opportunity to book with him again!

Seeing the northern light has been on my bucket list for years, and in October we went on a tour with Daniel. This evening was outstanding - we went to Finland and experienced amazing NL. He managed to find NL several times, and we had bonfire and had great pictures taken. A fantastic evening for the entire family.

Wow: Pissing down all day in Tromsø! But Daniel knew that in Finland there was clear sky. We saw the most beautyful NL. Daniel's tour was excellent, truly. Trust me, I've participated in a similar tour before and this previous experience pales in comparison with this one! For one thing, he went out of his way to make the tour happen, despite difficult weather conditions. After a drive up to Finland(!), he found great Aurora viewing spots and made us very comfortable during our Northern Lights experience. Also, Daniel did all of this for only four participants despite having more capacity. Where other tour providers would have cancelled due to adverse conditions, he absolutely excelled at providing the best possible experience for everyone. His photos and time lapses were also extraordinary, we were made very comfortable with warm overalls and a bonfire as well as snacks and great hot chocolate. His kindness and communication (multiple prior calls and honesty about our viewing chances) were also incredible. I highly recommend you take this tour, when choosing a Northern Lights Chase from Tromsø.

Excellent tour. Daniel was prepared, went out of his way to help you, explained the tour and each step, The van was very clean as well as the thermal suit he provided. He took us to a great spot, away from traffic and city lights, and no trecking through snow in the dark. We took a second tour with a large operator which was nowhere near as good as this one, and cost us more! An outstanding experience.

Daniel was amazing. We went two nights, once with Daniel and once with another tour. I wish I had booked Daniel twice. He was helpful, took us to a great spot which was away from any lights. It was easy for those in my group to get to (4 senior citizens, 2 children and 2 adults). He helped everyone with their gear and we were ready to go quickly. He was friendly and had several snack options. The lights were gorgeous (not really his control) and he was quick to take pictures to ensure we had wonderful memories.

Daniel was so good. The full experience was so good. Overall we saw 3 rounds of aurora but that wasn't it. He was so good and his experience in this fiels was clearly visible. 1st stop we saw aurora for 1.5hr and then after that ended; a warming, cozy campfire was burnt with snacks, fruits, and hot drinks. Then after almost 1 hour of no activity we switched to another location and instantly were greeted by another round of aurora. After staying there for 15 minutes we left. Overall 2 rounds of aurora and 5 hours with him we left for Tromso city. Later while dropping us he told that the aurora was going to be active again and the sky was magical again in Tromso. Each and every time he predicted when the aurora was going to be visible and stopped accordingly. Surely recommend doing this tour with him.

Norway is the first travel destination where it's just my mom and me. There is only one reason we came to Norway—because my mom's number one long-time bucket list item was to see the Northern Lights. Ever since I was little, my mom would always tell me that she wanted to see the aurora someday. However, life was tough back then due to financial struggles, and she never even dared to expect that she would ever get to see it. Now that her children are grown and we are financially stable, we were finally able to come to Tromsø together. But even so, we kept worrying about whether we would actually be able to see the Northern Lights. Thanks to our amazing guide, Daniel, we not only got to see the aurora but admired it in its strongest and most breathtaking form. Of course, the Northern Lights are a natural phenomenon, but there's no doubt that because of Daniel, we were able to observe them from a better spot and appreciate them in an even more magical way. After the tour, my mom told me something. She said she had always thought she would never get to see the Northern Lights in her lifetime. She even imagined that when she passed away, her spirit would travel around the Arctic just to admire the aurora before leaving this world. But now, having seen it with her own eyes while still alive, she was beyond happy. Thank you so much for giving us an unforgettable, once-in-a-lifetime memory—especially for my mom. I will never forget how Daniel was always moving around, busy taking care of every single tour participant while still providing kind and informative explanations. Daniel was great. The tour was very informative and he did an amazing job interpreting the weather and aurora forecasts and finding us the perfect spot for a bunch of activity. He did an excellent job of checking in with everyone the entire time to make sure they were happy and getting the most out of the experience.

Great experience. The weather was terrible so Daniel drove us to Finland. Came across some reindeer crossing the road which added to the magic with the snow. Daniel spotted what looked like good conditions so pulled over and set up a circle of chairs around a campfire. He provided plenty of hot drinks, as well as muffins and fruit. The lights did come. You couldn't see the colours with your eyes but could see white light illuminating the sky. Cameras picked up vivid greens and some purple/pink too. We stayed as long as we could then headed back to Tromso. We were so pleased we'd booked a tour. Daniel took photos while we were parked up and they were incredible. True to his word he shared them the next day too. Thank you Daniel.

Daniel the tour guide was beyond amazing with his experience about northern lights. we took off from Tromso to Finland since the weather in Tromso wasn't good enough to see them. So Daniel took us to Finland in a 200km drive one way to have the most amazing experience. He took us to a spot just for the 15 people group where he set the fire and provided warm clothes, seats, good food, hot chocolate, hot tea, while we were waiting for the northern lights. We had some auroras at the beginning and Daniel was always positive about them appearing stronger. when we were driving back to Tromso at I am Daniel was open to make two more stops if we see them in the way back. we had the big show at 1 am and he was always taking pictures of us with the auroras with his professional camera. highly highly highly recommended the auroras tour with Daniel!
