Arctic Fjord Roadtrip With Scenic Picnic From Tromso

It was a beautiful evening on the beach with good company and delicious tomato soup and hot chocolate, led by Samuel. Samuel worked diligently to search out the lights, even stopping several times while driving. The night previously we had gone on a chase drive to see the Northern Lights, which we also loved. This was a different experience, and it was also enjoyable.

Fede was absolutely amazing! He explained everything about the trip, the animals, and answered all of our questions very knowingly. You can feel his passion for nature and for Norway. The weather was so nice so we went to multiple fjords. He really took the time to take pictures of me, which was really considerate. The food was really good, and overall I would definitely recommend. It was one of the best experiences I’ve had visiting Norway!

We enjoyed a memorable day trip around Tromsø. Our guide was very professional and passionate about Arctic nature. He gave detailed commentary on landscapes and wildlife. What impressed us most was that he took lots of beautiful photos for us and sent all pictures after the tour. The schedule was well-organized without rushing. Clean restroom stops were arranged properly. We witnessed amazing coastal and fjord views，and reindeers. This trip is wonderful and I would gladly recommend it.

This tour was a great way to see some of the outer island landscapes without consuming a lot of time. We took the morning tour (09:30 departure) and were back before 15:00 (3:00 PM). We saw Kvaloya and Sommeroy islands and made multiple scenic view stops along the way. Our guide Frederico was very knowledgeable about the islands we visited as well as some of the attractions in Tromso as well. He took our group to a WWII era German bunker and talked about some of the history of Germany’s invasion of Norway during the war. The beach stop on Sommeroy was a highlight - we lucked out with the weather being decent enough to enjoy some sandwiches and tea/coffee on the beach. He also provided our group with several wonderful pictures we could download after the tour.

Our Viking Ocean cruise stopped in Tromsø, and since the excursions we wanted were sold out, another couple traveling with us and we booked this tour instead. We were so glad we did—it turned into our own private tour! Our guide, Fede, was fantastic. He was engaging, funny, and full of interesting stories and local knowledge as he took us around the surrounding islands. Along the way we saw beautiful mountains, fjords, lakes, wildflowers, reindeer, flocks of baby geese, and even troll villages. We learned so much about the area while taking in the scenery. This was one of the highlights of our cruise, and we highly recommend this tour—and Fede—to anyone visiting Tromsø.

Our guide Federico was excellent and provided cultural and historical insights to the incredible scenery. We thoroughly enjoyed each of the stops and the views of mountains and fjords. We highly recommend this tour.

Joaquin is a lifesaver, literally. We were exploring a trail near a frozen lake when I stumbled into a slush and was knee deep in freezing water. He immediately pulled me out, got me into a thermal suit, and without hesitation, borrowed me his pair of socks & boots while I waited for mine to dry out. He is kind, understanding, and I very much enjoyed listening to him talk about things like the surrounding marine life, geology, and local cuisine! We drove for 5 hours to countless remarkable fjords, and ended with a seaside picnic with a scenery of what the edge of the world looks like. To top it all off, we received very high quality images of our trip, which were spectacular. I wish I could rate this 100 stars instead of 5. I will be returning for more!

We had a really lovely day . The trip exceeded our expectations Fillip and Mathias were excellent . They mingled and chatted to everyone . There enthusiasm was so infectious . We couldn’t have enjoyed our day more

Samuel was great in showing us beautiful scenery and taking pictures of us. Lunch was very simple…a hummus sandwich, cookies, and hot coffee and tea on a beach. Samuel brought us to some beautiful places . It’s obvious he loves Norway and loves showing other people around.

What an amazing experience! . Wonderful vistas every twenty minutes. Frozen fjord, frozen lake, snowy mountains, wind blown beach and a wintry island. Thank you Armand for being a wonderful guide throughout.

We had the most amazing day trip to Kvaløysletta, Kaldfjord, Ersfjord, Kattfjordeidet and Sommarøy. We were very lucky with the weather as it was sunny and clear! Filip (our guide) was extremely knowledgeable and so was our driver, Mathias. They were both super friendly and engaging. The photos that Filip took were stunning and nothing was too big of an ask. The lunch was a light sandwich which was nothing incredible but still hit the spot.

Underestimated how good this would be. Really glad we did it, and saw some stunning landscapes. The pictures taken for us were really professional too. Our guide and driver were super friendly.

The whole experience was amazing. Joaquin and Lucas were so friendly and made the trip worthwhile. They ensured that everyone involved got to see the amazing scenery that tromso/sommaroy and the fjiords offered and that people could get as many pictures as possible. My wife was pregnant so the small group and attention to detail the guides offered made it worthwhile. One of the best tours we have done and can't say anything negative at all about the trip. Amazing!

We had an excellent experience on the Arctic Fjord Roadtrip with Scenic Picnic from Tromso on 21st Han, 2026z The landscapes were absolutely stunning, but what truly made the trip special were our guides - Filip and Anna. Anna was incredibly kind, attentive, and helpful throughout the journey. She went above and beyond, doing many thoughtful extra things she didn’t have to, just to make sure everyone was comfortable and happy. Filip was equally amazing, taking beautiful photos of all of us with his camera

A beautiful trip with a great team (Filip, Lucas, thank you 🙏), I recommend them by heart! ☺️ They are very attentive, helpful, hospitable and they have a very positive attitude. It was my first day in Tromsø, and I wanted to experience what it feels like to be in the Arctic. ☺️ It was amazing to feel the energy of Mother Nature and to be in nature. People may live here around ... but this is wilderness. ☺️ And now I could be a part of it ☺️ I really liked that tour was advertised as: it is organised in any kind of weather, so then tourists can also experience what life in the Norwegian Arctic is like. The landscape was shockingly rude and shockingly beautiful at the same time ☺️ I reagularly just started to laugh that OMG I can't believe! WOW, I'm here in the Arctic! ☺️ The air was crystal clear, salty and "heavy", it was so fresh that I just felt like biting in it. ☺️ We were lucky with the weather, comfortable 0 degrees, heavy snow, and in several places we went in knee-deep snow, but our guide was very helpful and always made a way for us. The sudden changes in the weather were shocking: in some places it was calm and cold. Then there was a strong wind, but it felt warm ... And then Mother Nature showed us its real strength again ... Filip and Lucas are very friendly and hospitable, they paid attention to everyone and were available for everything. Filip took a lot of photos, of the landscape, and of everyone, as many as we wanted and in as many poses as we wanted. ☺️ We got the photos for free, in low resolution, but they turned out beautifully clear anyway. 😍 The fjord panorama Ersfjordbotn, where we had to walk a bit in the heavy snow, but Filip made way for us and helped those with mobility difficulties. At Grotfjord we were greeted by another wonderful panorama and we walked down to the beach for lunch. This beach was breath-taking .... with fine sand and snow ... the water was crystal clear, surrounded by incredible mountains, a sanctuary..... really I was touched ... 🥹 For lunch we had a vegan sandwich, it had salad, hummus and blueberry jam - an interesting combination, but it was very tasty and nutritious. There was also enough coffee, tea and sweets. Our last stop was the port of Tromvik, with an exciting atmosphere, but huge gusts of wind, so we didn't spend much time there. It was a great day, just nature and us, we saw few people, but we met reindeers, too. 😍 We spent most of the time of the 5 hours on the bus, we travelled often on beautiful serpentine roads, we spent about 2 hours outdoors. The program is flexible, if the weather is not good somewhere, we will continue on another direction ... there are many beauties around ... 😍 During the day our guides made sure that everyone felt comfortable, it was a memorable and wonderful day, thank you Gyus 🫶🙏

In my opinion it’s quite boring, we didn’t see a lot of iconic places(in my opinion). But the guide and driver were extremely friendly and nice

This was a lovely day out of Tromso. The wind picked up, so instead of going to the island, we went inland. The scenery was beautiful, and the guide (Armand) was fantastic. Definitely recommend if you want to get out of the town!

My wife and I went for this small group (up to 8 pax) half day road trip out of Tromso. Our guide was Filip and driver was Matthias. Both of them speak fluent English and are excellent. They drove us to Kvaloya Island, where we stopped at a couple of scenic locations to take great photo and played in the thick soft snow. The weather was great, with a clear blue sky and golden hues of the sun rays. These allowed us to take lots of great photos, many of which Filip also helped to take. We then proceeded to a beach in Somaroy, whereby stools were set up for us to enjoy an artic beach picnic in front of an awesome view. What a treat! Nice sandwiches and hot beverages were served. On the way back, we spotted some reindeers and Matthias stopped the van for us to take some photos. We thoroughly enjoyed the trip with Filip and Matthias. They are professional, knowledgeable, chatty. I signed up for 2 activities with Northern Soul Adventures and both were very good. I highly recommend them for your Tromso activities.

I was unsure about signing up for this activity, but it ended up being one of my favorite experiences in Tromsø. Filip and Mathias were fantastic guides and made the trip genuinely fun. We were also lucky with the weather and came home with some great photos. Highly recommend!

Amazing day with Joaquin & Mathias. Our third day in tromso we decided to choose this tour to get us to see some beautiful scenery! Both of our guides are super friendly and chatty, helped my boyfriend and I took some nice photos! Made our day!

Armand and Mathias were excellent guides! Both super knowledgeable and helpful in making our trip to the fjords unforgettable. They both took great pictures, pointed out the perfect spots along the way to see the magic of Norway! We booked the tour the night before and they were able to provide me with a gluten free sandwich which was delicious! The company and guides were really great and I would definitely tour with them again !

This tour, with the wonderful guide Filip and driver Anna, was absolutely perfect. From accommodating us at pickup after my near disastrous mistake with the local bus, to providing all of us with loads of pictures at the end, could not have been improved. We even had glorious weather. Not a soul on that van went away wanting more.

Definitely recommend this tour. It begins at 10:30 and you arrive back in Tromso about 15:30. From the moment of booking, the service from the company was very professional, straightaway checking for any allergies or dietary requirements, and asking for email address for the photographs. We were so lucky to have Mathias as our driver, and Armand as our guide - both very kind and courteous people, a credit to the company. We had a restroom stop at the start of Kvaloya, and a further restroom once we arrived in Sommarøy . Several stops made a long the way, to see some stunning scenery and take photos. Short walks - so good shoes needed. On arrival at Sommarøy, Mathias and Armand set up picnic stools on the beach, and we had a very tasty vegan sandwich, fruit tea or coffee, and biscuits. Everyone was made to feel welcome, and Armand was knowledgeable about Northern Norway and shared a lot of his experiences during the trip. Professional photographs were taken throughout the day, which were amazingly shared by email within an hour or so of the end of the trip. A very professional service with two lovely guides. The only negative was that we did not see the iconic Sommarøy houses, which we understand have been removed from tour itineraries out of respect for the owners, but it would have been nice to drive by at least.

We had a wonderful time visiting the beautiful spots around the fjords and lakes in Kvaløya. Also enjoyed our scenic picnic on the beach at Sommarøy. Freddie was excellent in picking all the picture perfect spots for photographs. To top it all off he and Mathias went out of their way to search for reindeers! We found some!

This tour is so much fun! We had a great time, engaging conversations, and beautiful photos. Highly recommend if you want to see all the beautiful places! Bogdan even drove out of the way to find us a reindeer!

Toured as a couple from a cruise ship. Enjoyed the scenic stops. Tour guide, Lucas, was engaging. A portion of the van tour had modern day music, rather than narration of the sites. Seated in the back of the van was difficult to hear information. Lunch was good and fresh. Overall, a great way to see some scenery outside of the city. Would have liked more narration and information about the city, culture, etc, rather than radio music on the way to the stops.

Great guide, Frederico, and well organized itinerary despite the weather we were presented with. Very responsive to our group. The tour company's communication was great and quick when there was confusion over time and meeting. Highly recommend.

Fantasic tour. Picked us up right in front of our cruise ship. The only small negative was the size of the vehicle. There were seats for 6 and there were 6 of us. Anyone who is fairly tall or wide may find the vehicle too small. Fortunately, we dont fit either of those categories. Our driver was very knowledgeable and flexible. It was so nice to deviate a little from the plan (spend more time at a location, make random photo stop, or drive different was to find wildlife). Lunch was awesome. We had a picnic on a beach!! The final awesome thing about this tour was our driver took pictures of the entire tour and will email them to us the next day. We didn't have to rely on selfies or asking randoms to take a photo for us. Great tour!!

What a beautiful Arctic road trip! We made a few scenic stops along the way and had a lovely picnic on Kvaløya. Bogdan, our tour guide, brought us to some amazing spots — the views looked like postcards! Bogdan is also into photography and helped everyone take some great shots — really thoughtful! He also prepared lunch, drinks, and little beach chairs so we could relax by the water. Bogdan’s driving was super careful too — he really made sure the ride was smooth and safe. Such a relaxing and fun day out. Highly recommend!

Absolutely unforgettable experience exploring the Arctic fjords! It was a pleasant experience overall. It's basically a road trip with stops at scenic view points for pictures. We were not very lucky with the weather, as it started raining pretty heavily early into the trip, but our guide, Michael did the best he could under the circumstances. Michael was great, definitely one of the better experiences I had with tour guides. There was one very photogenic fjord view on the way, and a couple of lovely beaches. We also saw some reindeer on the way. Lunch was very good too, a tasty sandwich and plenty of hot drinks. I would recommend being prepared for rain even if it looks nice at first and not expecting too much time out of the car, and you will have a good time. All in all, it's a good way to see a bit of the area fast, if you don't have your own transportation.

We were super lucky to have the fantastic Freddie as our guide, and we were extra lucky that it turned into a private tour as we were the only ones booked in. He was super friendly and made us feel very comfortable. He was very knowledgeable about the islands and took us to some absolutely breathtaking areas. We had a great time and would definitely recommend this to anyone interested.

A fantastic tour of the scenic fjords around Tromso with Northern Soul Adventures. We opted to do this as a private tour as we travelled with our two small children (6&3) so it could be tailored to us and our needs. Justyna, our guide, was incredibly friendly towards our children and was great at sharing knowledge of the areas we visited in a child friendly way. Due to cold winds, Justyna tailored our trip to an area that was more enclosed, so less windy for the children, and we had the best experience. We saw stunning scenery, enjoyed an outdoor picnic with a delicious sandwich, warm drinks and biscuits. The children rolled around in the snow (literally), and we even got to build snowmen on the beach whilst it was snowing. It is an absolutely fantastic way to spend a day! I would 100% recommend this company for any Arctic adventure they offer. They are superb!
