Itinerary
Experience the thrill of snowmobiling through the pristine Arctic wilderness surrounding Camp Tamok. This adventure begins with a 90-minute bus ride from Tromsø to the remote Tamokdalen area, where the wilderness camp is located. Upon arrival, you'll be warmly welcomed by your guide and equipped with thermal gear, including a suit, boots, gloves, and helmet. A safety briefing ensures you're ready and confident to navigate the snowmobile. Sharing the vehicle with another person, you'll alternate between driving and riding as a passenger, traversing snowy trails past mountains, valleys, frozen rivers, and lakes. Midway through the journey, a short break allows you to switch roles. After the snowmobiling tour, return to the camp to enjoy a warm meal in a traditional lavvu, an indigenous Sámi tent. Gather around the open fire with food and drinks, sharing stories of your Arctic adventure. During peak season, groups may alternate between the snowmobiling tour and the meal to ensure a more intimate experience. Once everyone reconvenes, board the bus back to Tromsø, taking with you unforgettable memories of an adrenaline-filled day exploring the Arctic wilderness.

Absolutely incredible experience!!!! Highly recommend!!!!! Great guides, truly an amazing time with friends!
The location is beautiful to snowmobile. Our guides were helpful and made sure we were safe and had a wonderful time.
Amazing experience snowmobiling at camp Tamok. Friendly experienced staff made the day most enjoyable. Bucket list ticked off with my two sons
We had a blast snowmobiling. The scenery was gorgeous and the trail was amazing. Highly recommended. Note it is a decently long day: 9a-about 4p (bus arrived at bust station around 415p for use) if you're planning a Northern Lights tour afterwards.
great experience and so much fun. highly recommended .Instructor was very good and gave very clear direction.
Staff was incredibly friendly and knowledgeable, felt very safe, low visibility this day but was still overall a great experience
Best experience, worth every penny! Great guide, very professional. Great dogs, beautiful scenery. I would suggest this journey to anyone
It was a good experience to try out but not as fun as we hoped. Maybe more for the younger generation.
Our booking was messed up by Norwegian travel company which meant we arrived for our trip to be told there was no space for us. We were gutted. They were very apologetic and issued a full refund but sadly we had a very poor experience
Great trip on snowmobiles into the mountains on a gorgeous sunny day. Could not have been better. The staff were friendly and helpful.
Great experience driving through these snowy abandoned mountains, very nice guide from Finland. Thank you Mikko for your patience. We felt very safe. Kiitos!!
Really fun snowmobile adventure amongst incredible snowy mountain scenery. Mikko was a great guide, very friendly and knowledgeable. Highly recommend!
Excellent, from start to finish, our guide Phillip and the other team members made the day very enjoyable. Lovely stew after a good journey through the valley and up to the mountains.
The whole experience is very well organised. Our snowmobile instructor Victor was extremely helpful and very friendly. The views are spectacular and we spent a good 90minutes on the snowmobiles through the picturesque Tamokdalen valley, stopping occasionally for photos. The Camp itself was well staffed with all the usual facilities and the soups on offer were incredibly tasty. The entrance to the snow park and domes is impressively enticing but costs extra to enter which we did not do on this visit. All in all it made for an exceptionally enjoyable day
We hoped for sunny weather with great views -- we had 20 knot winds and snow, but still had a great time!! My 18 year old has wanted to snowmobile forever, so we surprised him with a trip out and he loved it. We did too. It was fun to ride with another person and share the experience. I rode with a woman from London who had never seen snow before! The gear was very warm, the instructor and guide was very experienced, and the meal afterward in the laavu was lovely. We had lamb stew with carrots and potatoes, coffee, tea, hot blackberry drink, and stories about the region.
Loved every minute of this experience! Great fun with beautiful scenary. We did this on the first day of our holiday to Tromso and it certainly set the standards high for other activities we booked!
Everything was just perfect and extremely safe, i would highly recommend this tour. Although it's expensive, it's a moneys worth tour. Camp Tamok was extremely beautiful beyond words. Truly a heaven on earth place...Please visit this place and do experience the snowmobile activity as it is super fun.
Great experience, amazing views! The rangers really helpful and make sure you are safe and get the most out of your experience.
Great fun - highly recommended! Lovely route through the forest! Nice food after the activity - fish soup and bread, or a veggie option.
Unbelievable experience with snow mobile. The staff were so good to us! They were so friendly and patience
Scenery was beautiful and our guide was very knowledgeable & funny. So glad we decided to do the ride. Our guide give me a red head cover to take back to Minnesota. Takk skal du ha! I do think the pick up place should have signs so you know what group you’re to be in. Jane Murray
perfect organisation. perfect equipment to face uneasy weather conditions. And a funny experience with snowmobiles. I would enjoy more than a two hour drive
Professionally ran, with a great knowledgeable (Finnish) guide. Plenty of time up on the snowmobiles although we was happy to come back it was -24. Lunch was great and they offered extra if you was really hungry
The snowmobiles were fun and the guide was friendly. However, we were definitely not snowmobiling for 2 hours like it says in the description. Our group spent more time getting ready and taking photos than we spent riding, which was disappointing for us. Of course the guides want to satisfy everyone, however I feel that they could’ve sped up the photo taking process and took us further out than they did. Furthermore, the description specifically says that we go to a Lake. We did not get to the lake and when we asked why we were told that “the path is closed during December and January”. This was very disappointing because the ride felt so short, and we booked thinking that we were going further out and to a lake. This is another thing the guides can’t control, however they should put this in the description that it is closed during these months and that the ride was shorter. Overall, the tour was decent and the lunch was nice. However, I didn’t feel that satisfied with the length of the tour & I don’t feel we got the experience they advertised in the description. Personally, I would recommend shopping around with other tours if you want more of an adventurous experience. If you’re more into photo taking & taking is slow, this could be great💓
We had an incredibly beautiful day snowmobiling in the snow-capped mountains and bright blue skies around Camp Tamok. We were traveling with our children and the great guide Julius, who explained everything great and was super nice. 10 out of 5 stars for this great family experience! Thank you!
Nice experience and super friendly guides. They took us by bus to the camp and there we enjoyed the activities.
The experience would be positive if it was not for the arrogant staff more precisely our guide a young man of French origin was rude and very arrogant made us feel like it was merchandise to squeeze and throw away we tried several times to reason with him but was arrogate we were on the morning tour even his partner was more tough than aggressive forced us to go hard to finish the tour as soon as possible
It was a top experience to ride a snowmobile and would book again to do it again. Absolutely recommended.
Very positive experience. Tour of about one hour and fifteen minutes during which you will cross fantastic landscapes. Snowmobile riding is quite tiring but pleasant. However I would not recommend it to who has serious back problems as the stresses are quite strong.
Super kann es nur weiter empfehlen, der Tour guide war sehr geduldig und freundlich. Die Landschaft war alles weiss wie im Bilderbuch.
