I booked this trip for my friend and myself choosing Accessible Tromsø as it specialises in enabling people with reduced mobility to visit Tromsø and surrounding area in comfort and safety. Both I and my friend are elderly with mobility issues. The day trip was a great success. The transport was comfortable, our guide spoke three languages moving from one to another with great fluidity and she was very informative and also fun as was Martin who drove. We were a small group with a gentleman in an electric wheelchair. The van was specially adapted which meant that getting on and off was easy at all the places we stopped. Special mention should be made that Accesible Tromsø is the only company in the area that caters for visitors with mobility issues. Their tours offer a wide range of day trips in and around Tromsø living up to their motto that nobody should be excluded from enjoying the because their mobility is limited. I hope to return next year and will most certainly take another trip with them.

This was an amazing tour. I loved the care that was taken into making the tour fully accessible whether that is for poor mobility, wheelchairs or other needs. Our guide Valentia was extremely knowledgeable about the area. It was nice to see other parts of Tromso that would have not been able to be view in a big tour group. 10/10 would highly recommend
Excellent guide Valentina. She showed us beautiful places, took fotos of us and also explain a lot of curiosities about the people of this area. The best tour in Tromso!!
Excellent experience with this tour company. Our guide Martin was funny, entertaining and very knowledgeable. I learnt a lot not just about Tromso but many other subjects from nature to World War II and many more. He takes and provides pictures with the tour at the different stops with stunning views and also offers tours with wheelchair accessibility. Highly recommended!!!
We booked a trip as the only wheelchair option for an excursion on our ten day Fred Olsen cruise, and were blown away. Not only did they make our two wheelchair users feel like their access needs were as simple as breathing, the knowledge of the tour guide was exceptional, and the passion for the city of Tromso was intoxicating. They were really flexible and understanding when some of us wanted to do slightly different things (in part due to non physical disability), and the knowledge of wheelchairs and expertise in them was really above and beyond from our previous experiences! I’d hugely recommend this for anyone with access needs, and feel confident in recommending them as people who will treat you as an individual who deserves the best tourism experience. I’d probably book with them again as an individual with no access needs just based on the friendliness and knowledge :) We weren’t aware photos were included (and swiftly shared) which was such a lovely touch.
It was booked through the cruise company. It was a 4hr tour that involved a mini-bus rather than a coach which meant a small group. Guides were friendly and knowledgeable. They made sure that everyone was safe walking on snow/ice. There was room for wheelchair users, but my group did not have anybody who used a wheelchair. It was an 8:30am start, which meant lovely views of the morning sun at Telegrafbukta Beach. They guide also gave us a tour of the Tromso University Museum instead of just letting us find our own way through the exhibits. Included time for individuals to look around the museum. Since some people needed walking aides, the driver tried to get to the main entrance of the Arctic Cathedral. Unfortunately it was too difficult for the mini-bus. Entrance to the cathedral and museum were included. A good view of the highlights of Tromso, the time flew past, nothing seemed rushed
Absolutely lovely, the tour guide was amazing helped us understand where everything was the tour was above and beyond
We booked this tour and Louai was our guide. Originally set for Sunday, Martin (our booking coordinator) proactively rescheduled due to poor weather, prioritizing better aurora visibility—unlike many operators who'd proceed regardless. This thoughtful approach was truly commendable. Our group was intimate: just four of us in a wheelchair-accessible van. Louai, a local with over 20 years in Tromsø, was exceptionally knowledgeable and attentive. Barely out of the city, auroras appeared; he swiftly navigated to a viewing spot, then rerouted to a quieter nearby site to avoid crowds. No hiking required—we had prime positioning right by the van. Louai built a warming fire and ensured our comfort throughout. The small group fostered easy connections, letting us fully immerse in the spectacle without distractions. We savored a hearty hot soup, followed by warm chocolate and cookies. Beyond the lights, Louai shared insights into Tromsø life, enriching the experience. Every detail reflected expertise and care. Though I'm currently on crutches (not a wheelchair), the inclusive setup was invaluable. Heartfelt thanks to Louai and Martin for making accessible tourism exceptional. A unique, unforgettable night—highly recommended!
Do this tour! And have the fish soup for lunch. Our guide, Valentina, was so awesome. So funny, friendly & knowledgeable. Oh and an excellent driver. Plus I got to test my ability ti speak Italian. Accessibility was no issue. Stayed on my chair in the van. Got to join the walking guests at most stops. Some areas were too icy for chairs. But options are always offered
Enjoyable tour with this new company. Excellent guides, knowledgeable with a sense of humour. Just one point mini bus a little uncomfortable if seated in the rear over the wheel arches, our tour was full. We would strongly recommend this company.
I booked the Accessible Island Tour directly with the company after an internet search and a couple of direct emails. From the very beginning communication was excellent, answering all access queries with understanding and empathy. I received an email about 2 weeks before the visit explaining that the cable car was having work done and that the Museum and Arctic Cathedral would be added in, I was a little disappointed but my wife happy about… On the day of the trip the vehicle arrived with Martin our guide. From the outset he was kind and caring with my wife and her lack of mobility, giving choices of entry into the vehicle with no pressure applied. We were lucky to see Reindeer on Whale Island, in the road, and Martin was very knowledgeable having worked with the Sami. The stop at the ‘beach/jetty’ was an opportunity for pics. Moving on to the Museum, we spent just over an hour looking at the Aurora and Sami displays and then an opportunity to visit the cafe. After a quick drive around the town with Martin pointing out places of interest we headed to the Arctic Cathedral which was amazing, well worth the visit after seeing it on TV. All in all it was a great experience and worth the cost. Martin was knowledgeable, patient and understanding.
We went to Tromsø for a couples trip and ordered a trip with Tromsø Accessible Tours online. We have to say that all our expectations were met! Our guide was very knowledgeable, accommodating and funny. We learned a lot about Tromsø and all the places we visited. We wanted to go visit the cable car instead og the museum, and the guide was flexible and made a swap possible. The guide took photos for free downloading and did everything to make our trip perfect and memorable. We can highly recommend this company for your next sightseeing!
Anastasia was a wonderful tour guide and as a bonus she emailed her photographs of us. The tour accommodated our mobility issues. If only the weather was as good as our guide and driver it would have been a perfect trip.
We’ve just returned from our tour with Anastasia, who was absolutely brilliant – friendly, knowledgeable, and enthusiastic. It was wonderful to see that people with different challenges can also take part of the tour and be cared for. The busdriver Louai was always on time and drove very safely.
Great tour within the time and the guide was good for most of the tour but lost her mojo towards the end of the tour. The vehicle was in poor condition, one seatbelt U/S, aircon not working and CV joint broken in front right wheel
we had the pleasure to use accessible tours as a family with three small children. We had a very knowledgeable Tour Guide Anastasia, which led our tailored tour, to make it more doable to enjoy the beauty of Nord Norway with little kids. All carseats were provided and we felt very much in the center of her planing. I can definitely recommend accessible tours and Anastasia - for any human being, with challenges/limitations and without. You won’t regret it.
Interesting itinerary around Tromso but delivery lacking. Museum visit forgotten and Cathedral visit included in cost yet they wanted to charge us. Driver / guide? - stayed with bus. Guide admitted he wasn’t trained. Expensive so at least a competent informative guide expected. Disappointing and hard to mess up a Tromso tour - yet the destination overcame the delivery. And of course we arrived an hour early as changed time not communicated. Must try harder!
Anastasia was very friendly, informative and knowledgeable. The museum tour instead of cable car was very educational and her pictures she took and emailed were amazing. I would recommend this tour.
Tromso Accessible Tours have been a joy to deal with right from the time of booking long before our cruise set sail. We booked the Island Highlights Tour. On arrival of our cruise in Tromso I was able to call them to clarify a few details about pick up time and location in order to put our minds at rest. As my wife is disabled it is so important to have clear information. We’ve had some disasters with other excursions by different organisers in the past. The vehicle was a six passenger minibus with a tail lift so getting the wheelchair in and out was a breeze. The tour itself was a great experience from start to finish. Our driver and guide was such a nice guy: very polite, very helpful and very knowledgeable. He even became our museum tour guide when we visited the University Museum. Sadly, through no fault of TAT, the cablecar was out of service for upgrading until July '25 which was why the museum was substited. The view from the mountain was something we were looking forward to, but a refund for the cablecar fare has been arranged which I'm still awaiting from Viatour. The museum was not a poor substitute. There is a piece of information you should know... Our guide announced at the outset that we did not need to take photographs as he would be taking pictures throughout the trip. After our return to our ship we recieved the promised email link to collect the pictures. When I clicked on the link it took me to the gallery. When I clicked on the pictures I wanted to download there was only an option to buy pictures either individually for about £22 each or as a collection for nearly £200. I have subsequently been contacted by TAT to say that the pictures will download at viewable resolution if you click on the small arrow on each picture, but these pictures are watermarked with the TAT logo. So, we have the pictures, but they are branded. Not a huge issue, but for this I'd like to have given 9/10 for the trip, but I can only score out of five, so it's 5/5. Luckily, I was taking pictures on my phone all through the trip. We would thoroughly recommend Tromso Accessible Tours and will definitely book with them again if we come back to the city. But we'll remember to take our own photographs, too!
Wonderful tour of Tromso and surrounding area. Louai was full of knowledge of the area and very informative. He took our group of 11 to some of the most beautiful sights in Tromso.
The 4 hour tour of Tromsø was incredible. I am a full time manual wheelchair user and cannot praise Bruno enough for making this such a memorable trip for me and my wife. He met us from the cruise ship and had a wonderful approach, so we could see everything (including going up the cable car) and his understanding of my needs meant nothing was an issue. We would recommend this to anyone who needs assistance to experience Tromsø.
we booked Tromso Accessible Tours for 17th March 2025 after recommendation from Facebook Accessible cruise group, I am a wheel chair user , on the day of tour we were met by Martin he went above and beyond to include me in all of the Tour, Safety was always top of the Tour with me in the shuttle bus,Brilliant,Fantastic, And YES you can get on the Gondola up to the top of the mountain, He is a huge credit to this company. I would highly recommend this company to any wheelchair user who thinking doing a Tour of Tromso 5 STAR Rating
Bruno was an exceptional tour guide. Beyond his knowledge of Tromsø- driving in the terrible weather- rain then snow while sharing stories was masterful. But his sensitivity to our needs always. Not worrying about what time it was. Just a great day with 7 other people sharing the time together. Going out of his way at the end to take us to the Hard Rock to buy shirts then dropping us at our ship. Incredible person.
Excellent tour of the Island with Marina who actually knows a lot on the history and keep places to go to. We took the cable car that gave us an opportunity to enjoy wonderful seing over Tromso
This was our first tour and everything we saw was spectacular. The driver and guide was there on time, he was so friendly and very knowledgeable about each one of the places we visited. He provided us with all the information we needed to know and took beautiful pictures of us with his professional camera. This is the perfect tour that we highly recommend on your first day because it shows the most important landmarks of Tromso.
This tour group is not just for people with disabilities it’s for everyone. My husband and I had aTromso city tour, followed by a drive to the islands and trip to the cable car. Our guide Marina was lovely, so attentive and accommodating. She really made this tour a local experience. Would definitely use this company again
Guides were pleasant, fun & informative - took us to places we would not have seen and shared information we would not likely have learned in any other setting.
We did Tromso Fjord tour of Sommoroy and Kvaloya. Our tour guides Marina and Luai were super knowledgeable about the region and the landscape. We did several stops where we saw fjords, mountain peaks, reindeer and beautiful landscapes and all driving through snow. The tour guides Marina and Luai were also very warm. It was a great experience for our family.
She is a wonderful guide, with many explanations, with enough time to take photos, visit the tour locations calmly, without rushing. Highly recommended.
We left the ship heading to the city center to see... when at the excursion tent they were there, the truth is that the guide spoke entirely in Spanish, which we needed. The excursion was wonderful, and the food at the restaurant was great. I recommend it 100%. Thank you, Martin, for sharing your knowledge.
It was wonderful! Thank you, Valentina! Great tour through Tromso - saw a lot - learned a lot! Take the tour and experience the city! Thanks from Nici and Katja.
Having reduced mobility and dreaming is sometimes difficult, but with tromso accessible tours, dreams and accomplishments. Thank you for helping me every moment for the organization and for the treatment. I come happy to have seen auroras, whales and fjords with their reindeer. Even with snow nothing was impossible why you made it possible. THANK YOU Martin for the trust and the treatment, thank you Max for also being at the foot of the canyon and truly THANK YOU to all the team for everything I will dream again and we will look safe again 🐋
The Martin guide is very knowledgeable and helpful, the tour missed a ride in the historic center and a visit to Polaria, you should review a little 'stages!
Very nice tour with a great guide and a great driver , very friendly tandem , a beautiful discovery of the landscapes of the museum and the different sites , super thank you
Guide was great but microphone on the bus didn’t work very well... in short nobody listened! The cable car did not work (in works) it should have been replaced by an equivalent activity (nice view) rather than a museum
Pleasant experience and 'the area that does not offer much but' the guides were very nice... the weather instead bad... But in tromso città- in my opinion there is little to see.... maybe it is a point of oartenza for other types of excursions
excellent care, attentive and considerate guide and driver. we had a superb day. discovering the authentic region.
Our guide Martin was great, he told us a lot and made us laugh. He showed us beautiful places and took even more beautiful pictures. Thank you for this wonderful day:)
We were in Tromso with the Costa in early September and did a four-hour tour with you. Qvaløya Whale-Island, Tromsdalen, Tromsø, Fjellheisen cable car, Ice Sea Cathedral... Great tour with lots of information about the country, people and culture. Bus suitable for several wheelchairs, but also a great tour for everyone else. Thanks to Anastasia and the driver Louai!
