This was my second time at Moxy Tromsø and I'll gladly stay here every time I come to Tromsø. The staff is super nice, the rooms are clean and comfortable. The breakfast is amazing and has a stunning view. The hotel is near the airport so you can even walk to/from the airport and there are several busses going to the city centre. Highly recommend!

This was my first time staying at a Moxy hotel, and I am very pleased. The room wasn't large, but it was comfortable, featuring a nice bathroom and a very comfortable bed. Cleanliness was impeccable. Undoubtedly, the highlight of the hotel was the shared reception and bar area on the top floor, which offered a fantastic view of the fjords and the adjacent airport. There is also an outdoor terrace, making the spot ideal for plane spotters. The hotel itself is located just one and a half kilometers from the airport and is easily accessible on foot. Although it is four kilometers from the city center, you can still get there by walking or by using the well-organized public transport system. With a terminal and two stops located within 300 meters of the hotel, renting a car isn't necessary. The rate I paid was exceptionally good—around 120 euros per night. Breakfast is served on the top floor, where the bar is located, and it’s actually quite good; as an Ambassador member, I got it for free (which is perhaps unusual for Moxy). The rooms are well soundproofed, and taking-off or landing planes are barely audible (unless a plane is taking off from the near end of the runway). I would also like to specifically commend the excellent service at both the reception and the bar, as well as the bar itself.
Newer hotel near Tromso airport. Not much to do around here but city centre is close by enough (we used the shared e-scooters to get there). Parking requires separate app and NOK 170 a day. Next to hotel there is plenty of space and even some AC chargers for your EV. Reception of the hotel is on the 11th floor. Room we had was tiny, what Moxy calls cozy. Everything is there although fridge would have been nice. AC is there but room was still way too warm so we opened a window instead. Quite a lot of noise from outside but much cooler. Conclusion: decent hotel for the price but nothing stands out imho.
My stay at the Moxy Tromsø was, to put it politely, a rather mixed experience. At first glance, the hotel appears modern, stylish, and exactly as presented in the photos. On closer inspection, however, it becomes clear that the substance does not quite live up to the staging. I ended up staying here for one night due to a flight disruption, so expectations were not excessive—but some basics should still be a given. Particularly frustrating was the complete lack of phone availability beforehand. The parking situation is also poorly explained and raises more questions than it answers. Check-in took an unnecessarily long time due to insufficient staffing. The receptionist did her best and remained friendly throughout, but was clearly overwhelmed—this felt like a structural issue rather than a personal one. In the room, things didn’t improve much: the shower delivered, at best, lukewarm water, which in Tromsø is less than ideal. Basic amenities such as body lotion were not provided—and, somewhat surprisingly, not even available upon request at the reception. The explanation given was that this property does not offer the “full Marriott standard,” which is a curious argument considering the price per night. To be fair, the breakfast comes with a genuinely spectacular view, which is probably the highlight of the stay. Overall, this is a hotel that looks great in pictures but falls short where it matters. For travelers with light luggage who rely on a certain level of basic amenities, I would not recommend it.
We had a fantastic stay and honestly cannot understand some of the negative reviews — everything was wonderful. When we arrived, the staff kindly informed us that we could get free breakfast if we signed up for Marriott, which was a really nice tip. The staff in general were extremely friendly and welcoming throughout our stay. The rooms are a bit small, but very beautiful, cozy, and clean, and housekeeping came every day. One detail we absolutely loved was the heated floor in the shower — that was amazing. The sea view is definitely worth the extra cost, and the welcome free drink on the rooftop was a great touch with a lovely atmosphere. The gym was very well equipped, with dumbbells, a cable machine, and a treadmill, which we really appreciated. Breakfast was varied and very delicious, and we were especially happy to see many vegan options and milk alternatives available. The interior design of the hotel is super cute and stylish, which made the whole place feel very special. On the day of our flight home, we had to leave before breakfast started, but the staff spontaneously gave us some pastries and even a coffee to take with us for the flight, which was such a thoughtful gesture. Another big plus is the public transport connection: there are two different bus stops nearby, and buses run every few minutes either to the airport or into the city. Overall, we had an amazing stay and would absolutely recommend this hotel.
