Tortuguero National Park Canoe Tour

Juan was amazing! We contacted him very last minute and within minutes he was there. We did the nighttour with him and we saw animals we would have never been able to spot. From out of knowwhere he found the tiniest red ete frogs, we saw a snake! Even an opossum en the biggest mexican tree frog he ever saw! 10/10 thanks juan.

He is extremely knowledgeable about the wildlife and clearly knows exactly what he is doing. He was able to spot animals that we would have completely missed on our own and explained interesting facts about each one. We were lucky enough to see many different animals during the tour, and it was fascinating to experience the jungle at night with someone so passionate and experienced. Juan was professional, friendly, and made us feel comfortable throughout the entire tour. We did the canoe tour and the night walk with Diego. Both tours were outstanding. Diego is very knowledgeable with animal facts and he spotted a number of animals, insects and birds that we would have never spotted without his guidance. He was very patient with our two kids. The canoe tour was a very relaxing way to start the day as we did not have to paddle!! Our night trek went a bit off the usual path which allowed us to see animals that some other tours didn’t spot. Diego is a phenomenon!! A true expert on the local wildlife and the best spots in the area. He took an interest in us when we booked the activity, we had to modify the reservation due to flight logistics and he only made things easy, he helped us with everything we needed. He is interested in sharing the beauty of the place and not taking advantage of tourism, and that is reflected in his tours. The canoe tour was beautiful, the place is one you won't forget, we were able to see all kinds of animals in absolute peace and silence. One of the best experiences in Tortuguero. The typical thing is to go see the turtle nesting, but personally the canal tour seemed wonderful to us, an experience you cannot skip. Also, in our case we were not staying in the town of Tortuguero itself and Diego, the guide, helped us manage it so we wouldn't miss it. Doubly grateful. Without a doubt we recommend it 100%. A beautiful walk, would recommend early morning walk as the animals are most active there. We still saw many animals at 14-16. Diego was a fantastic and sweet guide. He infected us with his passion for animals and nature. Really knowledgeable and experienced.

Very good experience. Diego, in addition to telling us a lot of things we didn't know, managed to get us to see a caiman, monkeys of different species, sloths, different birds, huge butterflies... Diego is the best guide in all of Tortuguero; we did two tours with him on recommendation: the canoe tour and the night tour, and both were excellent. In both, we were able to see many animals and enjoy the incredible scenery; my friend and I loved it. Diego takes the time to explain many things and was the only guide with equipment to see all the animals better at night; he has the eyesight of a jaguar and finds them very quickly!!! We were very lucky both with nature and to have Diego for our experience. I would repeat it without thinking!! Thank you so much for everything!!!

Our guide Julio was exceptional, he demonstrated a great knowledge of the canals and the animals. We had a nice walk for the two of us alone at 11.30am in a canoe with electric motor, which avoided the uncomfortable noise of combustion engines, and being small we could go through small channels and appreciate its beauty. It is definitely recommended.

Fun tour with an enthusiastic guide. Nature is unpredictable, of course, but we have seen many animals. The guide also gave clear explanations about the plants. Some animals we haven't seen, but of course that depends on luck.

We are really happy to have chosen the excursion with diego you can find his office in the main street a tortuguero a l sign carreta. The boat was quiet and comfortable and our guide is a discreet and caring person .which is not the case for all guides you hear yelling at 100 meters when they talk! Not to mention those who are squarely in motor boat noisy and punt!It was really buccolic and we were able to observe crocs and birds and monkeys. Ah yes also initially it offers us coffee and snacks.

Diego accompanied us during our stay. Thanks to him we could see the three species of monkeys. He was professional and patient, accompanying each of us in a personalized way. He is pleasant, professional and passionate. In addition, he speaks Spanish and English and even knows some French words.

5/5! We did two tours with Diego - the canoe tour and a nightwalk. Diego knows his way around, explains a lot and is very entertaining but professional. We liked the two tours very much and we would book them just like that again! Sometimes it is worth asking Diego for tours directly 🤫

Great tour with lots of animal sightings and Diego was a great tour guide. He waited especially for me because I was late and showed me everything worth seeing in just under 2 hours. You can tell he knows his way around and where to find the animals. Can absolutely recommend the tour!!

It was a very exciting and beautiful experience. We saw an alligator, iguanas, blue heron, tiger heron, white-faced monkeys (cappuccino), howler monkeys, spider monkeys, sloths and anhingas. The guide knew a lot about the biology and behavior of animals.

We took a canoe ride in the park in the morning and a night ride to see the turtles in the evening. We had an unforgettable time in Tortuguero! 🌿 Our morning canoe trip, the night hike and the turtle nesting were absolute highlights. 🐢✨ Verny and Diego were not only super competent but also really funny. 🤩 They have an incredible eye for animals we would never have seen so many without them! We have discovered birds, iguanas, sloths, skunks, snakes, frogs, spiders and even caimans. 🐊🦜 What we particularly liked: They pay extreme attention to nature and are very eco-friendly. 🌱 Clear recommendation! 💯
