Canoe Tour In Tortuguero National Park

An early morning adventure into the waterways of Tortuguero. We were very pleased to see Warren was our guide once more. We had booked a shared tour but the others didn’t show so we were lucky to have a private tour. Once more Warren did us proud, we saw birds, iguanas, crocodiles and caymen. We got to know more about the area and discussed politics of the world as well. A fascinating educational and very enjoyable tour.

Warren was the best tour guide! So knowledgeable and enthusiastic. Our tour went on for an extra hour and we saw so many wildlife!

It was such a great tour! Warren was our guide and he was extremely friendly and experienced. He went through a lot of small corners of the river looking for animals and getting away from other canoes to be more silent. He even made the tour longer than expected because we were only 2 people and there were not more tours.

Oscar was an incredible guide. I can’t recommend him enough. He was very informative and knowledgeable about the wildlife, and took his time to make sure we were able to have a piece of the canal and jungle to ourselves. In that way we were able to see it as it truly is. I am grateful. Thank you, Oscar!

We had the best experience with Luis. Experienced, knowledgeable and passionate about Tortuguero and its environment, with a bit luck, we were able to see all key wildlife including a caimán. Luis made our canoe with a toddler and a young child easy and fun, despite the heavy rain. Book a tour with Luis - you won't regret it!

Marco was an amazing guide, found loads of animals and was had lots of interesting facts about them! Could tell he was passionate along with being a great human motor! We requested to delay the tour as it was stormy in the morning and they changed it to the afternoon with no fuss, very impressed!

We had a great time doing the canoe tour with Luis. He was very toughtfull and gave a lot of explanation about the canals and nature. We received some snacks and ponchos at the start. We also had a good stay at Tuanis guesthouse and were very pleased with all the practical arrangements of the team.

We had an amazing experience on the canoe tour with Luis. Luis is patient and kind and really takes his time to explain everything. You can tell he really cares about the environment. We booked the 6:00 a.m. morning tour and were absolutely delighted. It was an excellent excursion, and fortunately, the weather stayed dry throughout the entire tour. We were able to spot many animals, including a wide variety of birds, caimans, and small monkeys. Our guide, Louis, patiently shared a great deal of interesting information about the wildlife, vegetation, and the country. He guided us safely through the mangroves by boat and demonstrated impressive knowledge of the local flora and fauna. A beautiful, informative, and highly recommended tour!

Marco was great ! He is a biologist so he knows a lot about the fauna and flora, he is really chill and he has a keen eye ! Would highly recommend it!

In fact we took a shared boat, not a canoe, during our exploration of Tortuguero's large and small canals. Late we also took the National Park wald - both with Daniel as our guide. We must tell you all that Daniel was an EXCEPTIONAL GUIDE! Highly knowledgable and quick to spot things. He also helped us to record far-away sightings with hos telescope and mobile phone attachment. His English is very good - very easy to understand him. But Daniel also went further for us. We live in Israel and my wife forgot her reading glasses in the hotel. Daniel collected them and tried to find every possible way to post them to us back home - but all options were too expensive. Then he suggested finding other visitors (coming later to Tortuguero from Israel) and giving the glasses to them with our phone number. He simply never stopped trying to find a solution. This is the high-quality person that Daniel is! So try to seek out Daniel when you come to Tortuguero. he makes all the difference!!

Incredible experience with Warren on the canoe. Saw so many birds including Toucans and reptiles including a Caiman and Basilisk "Jesus Christ" lizards🥰

Had a blast with Daniel as our guide, my husband, 9 year old son and I. He was very knowledgeable and knew exactly where all the Cayman’s lived! It was quite an adventure! I highly recommend!

Warren was amazing, he spotted everything for us - on the trees, in the gras and even below the water. He took more time than initially booked because there was so much to see and he was very helpful and friendly. Would absolutely do it again!

We had the great good fortune to go on this tour led by Warren. He was incredibly knowledgeable and went out of his way to make our canoe trip a very memorable occasion. We saw different birds and animals which we would never have seen on our own and told us all about them. He also told us about the area itself and how it was being protected and left us understanding why Costa Rica and Tortuguero in particular is so fascinating from an environmental point of view. A great way to spend a morning, our guide was very knowledgeable and shared it in both Spanish and English, we saw a lot of wildlife including a pack of capuchin monkeys up close. Also went up rainforest labyrinths that only canoes can reach. Would recommend.

We were yesterday at the canoe tour with Warren. It was a great experience, we saw much of the great nature and saw many animals. Warren has explained much and tried to get away from the other boats so we could be alone. You could sense he loves the nature too and leads the tour with passion. 10/10 can recommend

Guide Warren gave us an amazing canoe tour. He told everything about Tortuguero and the animals. He brang us to the best spots of the National Park and showed us the beautifull nature of Tortuguero. This was an amazing and unforgettable tour.

First there was a misunderstanding. But is was quickly solved by Warren. He was an excellent guide and showed the real Tortuguero NP. He toke his time and showed us a lot of birds. It was really fabulous. If we come back we would aks for this amazing guide Warren.

Our kayak tour with Tuanis was incredible. Our guide Warren was so knowledgable, kind and passionate about Tortugeuro. We saw the most mind blowing wildlife in the most natural way possible. We were out for hours on the kayak and couldnt get enough. We would do it again and again and again if we could. We would highly recommend this tour with this company 10/10. Very nice canoe tour around the Tortuguero Park. We could access many small arteries that would be impossible to reach with a motorboat. Moreover, we were able to hear nature’s sounds all the time. We could also get so close to animals (like caymans) as never before. Our guide Warren has been great and spotted a lot of wildlife.

Amazing experience, we saw a slooth, caymans and lots of beautiful birds. The tour goes through deep rainforest which was awesome.

Really, really nice :) Excellent guide and we saw almost every animal there is to see. Caymans, birds, sloths etc. really worth the trip. Also learned some stuff from the past :)

I highly recommend the canoe tour with Jairo. It is probably the closest you will get to many animals (compared to walking through the jungle) and Jairo is the best guide we could have wished for. He has a huge knowledge of all the flora & fauna and also knows how to break it down in a way that you will remember what you learned + he is very kind and funny. Get yourself on those boats!!

Best canoe tour ever! What an experience…. We managed to see a wide range of wildlife (monkeys, caimans, turtles, iguanas, birds etc), all thanks to Luis, our excellent guide. 10/10

They are a scam tour. First they don't tell you how to reach the residential/islandic area in Tortuguero. We drove almost an hour into this bad road with water logging and had to turn back since couldn't go further. Asking someone living in that road, they said you have to go back and take a boat. Nobody tells you this, as talking to someone on the boat who does similar tours, sneaked in the fact that they do this on purpose. The tour guide was also not responsive on Whatsapp. We were a no show for this reason and hence lost our money too. Be careful!

The canoe tour is highly recommended, it's extremely fun and you see lots of animals. Take the tour with the guide Andy. I was with a group in Spanish, but the guide speaks English perfectly.

We had such a good time as we were practically alone in the National Park with Lewis our guide. He made such and effort an still is deep into the rainforest which can be done if you are on a canoe!

Luis was amazing! So many cool animals and beautiful canals. It started raining which was actually quite incredible, plus they handed out ponchos to keep us dry

What a great experience - my guide was Marco, a guy studying biology in Mexico - not only does he have the knowledge, but he also knows how to SHARE it - going with a canoe gives you pieceful atmosphere without the constant sound of the running motor! Definitely worth recommending!

We had the pleasure of touring the canals of Tortuguero with Luis. We were in a two-person kayak and Luis was in his own single kayak. Not only did we see crocodiles, caimans, river turtles, iguanas, herons, toucans and other wildlife up close, but Luis also took the time to explain the details of the trees and wildlife we were passing in detail. It was a brilliant experience, a must for wildlife enthusiasts, and we particularly recommend Luis!
