Canoe Tour In Tortuguero National Park Small Group

We booked the tour directly with Karla and had a really wonderful canoe-tour with her husband Antonio - luckily the rain just stopped at the moment we started the tour :) The nature around the Tortuguero River is just gorgeous and Antonio showed us animals of all kinds, the european eye would never ever even see in the bushes. We even spotted an extremely rare Agami Heron! We did the trip alone with our family of 4 and the kids enjoyed it very much as well. 100% recommend!

All very kind and knowledgeable about the environment and species. We recommend going with them. We also went the night before to the beach for watching green turtles “nesting “ and laying eggs. Good experiences!

Karma is an extremely professional and friendly guide. She is very helpful and talented to anticipate her customers needs. We did the boat tour with Abel who was very knowledgeable and funny (he was able to perfectly mimick all Costa rican animal sounds, amazing!). We were lucky to see iguanas, crabs, caïmans, several birds including a tucan and even a sloth! That was really a great boat tour in the national park. The same evening, Karla savez our turtle tour. We had booked with another agency and the guide let us down without prior notice. We contacted Karla who was able to find a solution on the spot. She saved our turtle tour and we ll be forever grateful to Karla for her efficiency. I highly recommend Karla and her serious agency.

Antonio was our guide and our experience was incredible! We saw a remarkable amount of wildlife through his expertise in locating the camouflaged animals in their natural habitats. This was a highlight of our trip!

We, a family of 5 persons, had a great canoe tour in Tortuguero. We were a small group, so that we were able to watch a lot of animals, like sloths, monkeys, a lot of colourful birds, a caiman, iguanas and some more. It was really spectacular and we enjoyed our trip very much!!!

I want to sincerely thank Carla and Antonio for the incredible experience we had with them. During the tour of the Tortuguero canals, we were able to see what other guides had not managed to find: a caiman, numerous birds, and several monkeys. Antonio did everything possible, and even more, so that we could observe the greatest number of species. His passion, dedication, and experience are evident. My children, aged 10 and 15, enjoyed the excursion to the fullest and have not stopped talking about it. At night, we took the tour to witness the nesting of the green turtle, and honestly, it was an unbeatable experience. Both Antonio and, especially, Carla demonstrated exceptional knowledge and truly impressive management of the environment. Carla conveys a sense of security and professionalism that makes one think she knows the park like no one else. Her way of explaining every detail and managing the activity was extraordinary. I cannot be more grateful for the time, effort, and passion that both put in so that we could have an unforgettable experience. If you visit Tortuguero, I recommend without any doubt doing the tours with Carla and Antonio. They are the best!

The seven of us have done no less than 3 tours; evening walk, canoe tour and the turtle tour. Super many animals seen (few pictures added) and Antonio and Karla were very excited. The communication with Karla via whatsapp was super good! It was one of our birthdays and as a surprise they brought a cake.

Tourtuguero is worth a visit. Karla is very nice and accommodating. She took care of our entrances to the park. We canoeed with Byron: perfect, he has his eye. He showed us caymans, iguanas, lizards, birds... Amazing!

Karla is very nice. She even picked me up in La Pavona and took me to my AirBnB on Tortuguero. I actually just wanted to chill, but Karla told me about the tours and I booked the canoe tour. She also gave me a good tip for dinner (El muellecito). The canoe tour was good, Abel spotted lots of birds and a sloth that I would never have seen without him. Abel paddled all by himself and told us lots of interesting things about the fauna and flora. Thank you very much and all the best!

This excursion was magnificent, rich in wild animals in their living environment, the anecdotes of Adrian the guide were an extra which made the walk even more special. Thank you so much !

Antonio and Carla are wonderful. We did the canoe tour, night tour and turtle nesting tour with them. Removing the spawning one, the other two were individualized for the three of us, they know a lot about animals and flora, without a doubt, we would repeat with them and we recommend 100%

The guide was really good and gave a lot of information about the flora and fauna. However, we had to wait 45 minutes at the entrance to the national park before we could leave, as there were so many boats (including motorboats) waiting there at 6 a.m. The agency said: book the canoe tour instead, you don't have to paddle yourself (unlike the kayak tour), but we did have to paddle the whole time (not a problem for us, but you should know). They also said that there were a maximum of 7 people, but there were 9 of us including children. When we finally left, we were able to see a few animals. But when a caiman was spotted, all the boats went there so that everyone could take the perfect photo. It was absolutely terrible for us, as these animals are active at night. We also find it completely incomprehensible that motorboats are allowed on the river. We were glad when the tour was over.
