Exception tour! Nobu Sato our tour guide was excellent! So informative and added experiences in addition to the Tina auction. We saw the vegetable market and also the outdoor wholesale fish market both fun and interesting! Highly recommend this tour!!
The tuna auction alone made the early morning worth it. Our guide, Nobu, was knowledgeable and kept the tour focused since it’s shorter. Tsukiji Outer Market can feel overwhelming, but going early helped—less crowded and easier to enjoy. Easy recommend.

Nobu provided a great tour with a lot of information on the market and the way it works. It was a very nice experience ! Would recommend
Very different than the original version. We hadn't been there in 15 years. What replaced a pretty unique experience being part of the up front witness of the tuna auction and then walking outside to indulge in fresh tuna and assorted seafood is now an impressive modern structure that keeps you at some distance from the action. Still a remarkable thing to witness in person.
Such a great experience seeing the tuna auction and fish markets. Nobu was an amazing host and we are so grateful for him.
Our guide, Nobu was excellent. He’s very knowledgeable and explained a lot about the auction and the market area. So glad we got the experience!! He recommended a great sushi bar for breakfast that we also really enjoyed. I highly recommend this tour!!
Nobu-san: what a wonderful, knowledgeable guide. He met us promptly at 5:15 AM at the tuna auction market. He was very informative and answered our questions in very good English. After the auction, he took us to the Outer Market where we had lunch at a small, authentic sushi restaurant. He gave us an overview of Japanese history, Shinto, and the introduction of Buddhism to Japan and how it interacted with Shinto. Based on our expressed interests, he then gave us some excellent suggestions on where we could go on our own. He gave us our first lesson on the subway system and wrote down exactly which train and how many stops we should take in order to get there and back to our hotel. We found him amiable, accommodating, well-versed, and well-rounded. We highly recommend this excellent guide.
Our guide Nobu was excellent for the fish market! He meet us at our hotel and guided us through the busy Tuna Auction. The upper level viewing platform provided us excellent view.
No u the guide, made the visit unique by his knowledge and incoropraung historical context. Ask for Nobu!
What an amazing experience. Definitely a once in a lifetime look at a different side of Tokyo. Nobu , our guide was fabulous. So knowledgeable in all aspects of the market. If you want something a little different, one which not many people do, go for it !
Good review of complicated structure of Japanese chain of sales. Very helpful guide ...helped us book taxi back to hotel in pouring rain.
I was nervous about meeting our guide at the market. It would be dark out, a huge new city for us and the language barrier with cab driver. The guide was waiting for us at the exact designated time and provided a phone number in advance in case of a miscommunication. It went so smoothly! The guide was very knowledgeable and answered our many questions in the new market ! It was an enjoyable morning! The highlight in the old market was our guide Noba’s direction to the best tuna we had in our life! A wonderful experience and well worth the price for the tour.
It was fascinating to see the amount and size of the tuna - guide very informative. It was great to have someone take you between new and old markets- tuna in old market was exceptional
We had an amazing experience with this tour! Highly recommend--sushi breakfast not to be missed and very much appreciated the history and context of the two markets.
This is a great experience if you are brand new to Tokyo and looking for something unique to do. Process: - Guide will meet you at a designated meet up spot (your hotel or at the fish market subway station) Either way, you need to get yourself there... Our guide met us at our hotel and we took a taxi together. - The auction is viewed from a platform up above. You get a good view, but you are not on the ground. - It seems pretty much anyone can enter and watch. You just need to ensure you are there by 5:30 AM as things get started and move fast. All in all - that's it. If you know Tokyo, this would be easy to do without a guide.... It would save you a lot of money. Our guide was also kind enough to point us to a great sushi place that opens very early in the morning.
