Tokyo: Tsukiji Fish Market Food And Walking Tour

Yayoi gave us a great food tour! She taught us history and brought us to tasty food stands. I would do the tour again with her guidance.

I really enjoyed the Tsukiji tour. It was like being shown around by a Japanese Uncle. Tom brought us to a nearby shine for a little history lesson before walking us around the inside market and outer markets. There are many vendors and shops, along with the crowds, so it was great to know from his experience which places had the best food. I had some of the best food on my trip right here. If you want to increase your chances of seeing tuna being cut up he says to go very early in the morning. I highly recommend this tour and staying for the entirety of it. Our group had the option of purchasing food from the Inside market, which took some time (maybe 15 min), so half our group went off on their own and I cannot imagine they had the same experience as we did with Tom explaining all the vendors and adding nuance to all the different types of food. He also has a blog (he shares it at the end) and is a wealth of information.

Shino was a marvelous guide! She took our group of 10 to a great variety of places throughout the Nishiki Fish Market. Her recommendations were spot on and the prices seemed to be about the best in the area. Highly recommended!

Yayoi was amazing. She was such an enthusiastic and passionate about showing us the Tsukiji Market. It was great getting inside tips on when to show up and which vendors to try. Every vendor we ate was delicious and well recommended. Come hungry for sure as you’ll to taste everything that makes Tsukiji market special, not just the sushi. Loved the history piece of the specialties of the market too. Early morning tours are the best for this as this market gets crowded fast. Worthy of checking out.

Rie was a knowledgeable guide. We started at Hongwanji temple and she shared about the customs and interesting facts of Japanese life. We toured Tsukiji market and had great food. From wagyu to oysters to snacks such as wasabi sesame. Left the tour feeling full in my stomach and knowing Japanese culture better.

What a fantastic experience exploring the Tsukiji Fish Market with Sayaka! She was an excellent guide—friendly, knowledgeable, and made the entire tour so much fun. We sampled an incredible variety of delicious food and were absolutely stuffed by the end! Along the way, we also stopped at a beautiful temple, where Sayaka shared some fascinating history and insights. Her knowledge of the market, local culture, and traditions really made the experience special. Such a fun and memorable way to experience Tokyo! Highly recommend this tour, and especially Sayaka!

Terrible spent first part being sold on buddhism, second getting money for one of the couples. No real opputunity to buy food. Had to leave the tour to get anything.

Rie gave us a lovely tour both of the Hongwan-Ji Temple and the Tsukiji outer fish market. She recommended many different places to try different types of seafood and helped make a busy, congested area approachable. Would highly recommend!

The guide Tom was very informative and showed us around both the inside and outside fish market areas. He took us to various food stalls where we could purchase products. He also took us to a Buddhist Temple

Lots of fun! Good company and lots of knowledge about the fish market and the food there! Enjoyed the wagyu beef skewers and the mochi ball desserts!!

Tom was a very nice guy. trying his best to ecplain everything. if you sometime dont u derstsnd him, just ask. He is very nice and pomite and will try to explain it again. buy some fish/seefood in the market Hall and eat it at the 3ry floor. tuna, Shrimp etc. fabulous. you will also visit the outer market, more Chance to get some food, drinks, Souvenirs.

Brilliant food tour of the vibrant Tokyo fish market. Got to experience amazing local street food with the wonderful Yayoi!! Highly recommend and would do again without hesitation.

Our tour guide, Rie, was amazing! She brought us to the most amazing food stalls! She helped us order and take care of any rubbish we had. She was very knowledgeable about the market, pointed out stalls we should check out after the tour. She added some additional fun by giving us pop quizzes to make everyone feel engaged!

Great tour with a very friendly and knowledgeable guide

We enjoyed our tour with Ryo to the temple and Tsukiji Fish Market. Although there were plenty of people there due to the Public Holiday, Ryo navigated us around the market and we enjoyed eating and sampling at the various stops.

This was a great introduction to the market! We tried a variety of foods, including a good mix of adventurous (eel liver and lemon dried cod snack) and more accessible (waygu, fatty tuna, yuzu soda). A really nice way to spend the morning!

Paloma was an amazing guide who has built meaningful relationships with the vendors she takes you to to give you the ultimate experience. Her knowledge, generosity, and friendly demeanor made our food tour one of the best that any of us has done. Also, you get a little bit of everything on this tour, dietary restrictions friendly included (if need be).

We visited a Temple where Sayaka explained Temple customs. The experience was awesome. As for the Market, we never could have had such a varied and absolutely perfect choice of stalls and food pickings without her. She was so knowledgeable and had a plan that gave us a wonderful sampling of the Market. Truly one of our favorite experiences in Tokyo

I loved this tour. The guides apparently pick the exact locations from a certain selection and our guide, Paloma, chose perfectly. The food from the different stalls were varied but high quality. The food was so so good. One of the highlights of my Tokyo stay!
