The cruise was calm and the food was great! The entertainment was also very good but the most enjoyable part was the view!
The Tokyo Yakatabune Dinner Cruise was a nice experience overall. There was plenty of food and drinks, and the staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming. The only downside was the limited sightseeing opportunities. With the layout of the boat and seating arrangements, it was difficult to enjoy the views, and there wasn’t as much to see as we had hoped. Overall, it was an enjoyable evening, but the sightseeing portion could have been better.
Lovely dinner experience and show. Although it was a bit choppy on the water at first once you get out into the bay it was calm. Perhaps don’t do if you get motion sickness. My family and I loved the food and the entertainment. Would have been nice to be able to go outside to take photos but I am sure that is possible when the water is a bit calmer.
Great experience! Food was very and plentiful. Tables are low and can hard for an old guy to get under Be warned alcohol comes from a can… Overall still highly recommend!
The cruise was excellent! We had a wonderful time with the authentic food and especially the music and singing. We highly recommend this cruise.
Loved it. Food was delicious.
The food was really yummy and the performers were great. Definitely a fun date night to experience while in Tokyo.
Fantastic experience! I don’t want to give any spoilers. If you are having second thoughts… don’t! Just go ahead and make the reservation. It will be worth your while. Thank you to all the crew and the special guests that prepared this awesome event
This was the best experience! Yoyo was a fabulous host and we loved the entertainment and getting to join in with the singing. Taking our shoes off and having a bag to put them in, we knew everything had been thought of. The meal was magnificent and the staff always on hand to ask any questions. When stopping in the Bay it was perfect timing… the water show, the sun setting and the lights of Tokyo.
It was a fun evening sail around Tokyo. Weather was overcast and rainy but it was still picturesque. Karen our tour leader was very attentive and helpful. The sukiyaki dinner was delicious ! Took the Tokyo Tower experience and went there right after the cruise to catch the evening views. All in all a good experience. Entertainment was fun too! Just be warned you need to remove your shoes to enter the boat and you are seated on the floor on cushions at low tables to get the full Japanese experience.
Christine and the team were so kind and friendly. The food and performance were amazing. It was so fun cooking our own food and it was delicious. The boat’s ceiling was covered with cherry blossoms and made me forget that it had been raining all day. finish. I would definitely recommend this experience to anyone. Make sure everyone in your group can easily sit down on a mat. Once you are sitting on the mat it’s just like sitting at a table because your legs are in a well under the table. It was very fun and made a great memory for our trip.
Beautiful view but uncomfortable setting. Low boat seats. We were told to arrive early and had to wait an hour in the rain. We also had to take off our shoes on the wet floor. Experience felt low rent. Musicians were great. Recommend if you want a budget experience and are young and physically flexible. Cook your own food but it was flavored well.
Fun times! Food excellent and it was a beautiful and picturesque trip! Entertainment was fun and very interactive. I would’ve love to have bed. Able to view the water show.
I had an amazing time. The food was delicious, the staff were amazing and the entertainment was fun. It was a wonderful experience. If you want good food with an amazing staff and entertainment in while in the company of other great tourist, this is the cruise.
I would suggest you join this boat trip in evening to see the lights. Food was tasty. Music eas delightful. Services were very good. Particularly from the lady host.. (I can't remember her name)
All was great and easy to go through, tour person was great and everyone involved. Good food and view was fantastic.
The meet up spot was super easy to find, the boat was beautiful, the musician and singer played traditional folk music which added to the experience, the meal was pretty good, and the view from where we stopped at was amazing. Huge shout out to our guide Yoyo, who made us feel welcome and extremely comfortable. I would highly reccomend this to anyone spending a few days in Japan
The dinner boat is a great night time activity. Going along the water while enjoying a good dinner and shamsien performance, is great activity.
The cruise was fantastic! Shea was outstanding with extraordinary people skills! She has the friendliest of smile! The cruise was fabulous because of her and the performer ! Thank you for the beautiful time!
Great experience. An authentic, old japanese boat, but so beautiful, a delicious traditional Japanese dinner, a magnificent sound and light show in Odaiba Bay, all in a pleasant atmosphere ensured by the great artist Midori-san and the very friendly guide Shea-san who taught us many interesting things. I can't helpbut recommend the plum wine, a discovery for me, but be warned, it's not for fans of dry wines. Thank you to the entire crew for this wonderful experience.
It was a lovely short cruise on Tokyo harbour. The people were very helpful and the food delicius. The entertainment helped make it a delightful evening.
First ) the directions for taxi are not good . They drop you at an apartment building. We had to walk 1/2 a mile to meeting point GPS coordinates are not correct. Second) the food is bland and limited . Cooking instructions not good . Third ) Activities and entertainment, did not match the itinerary we were given . Not as advertised.. We believe they scaled back the itinerary due to the fact that there were only 3 paying customers. Fourth ) The boat is run down and needs some attention. We have been on several dinner cruises all around the world. And this one was the worst. . Definitely not worth the money.. We were on a dinner cruise in Australia in March 2026 and paid the same amount of money . Only we were fed a 4 course meal with wine pairing, and dessert. And the boat was all glass window boat. It was amazing.. The only good thing about the cruise was the girl the Instructor and the guy that played traditional Japanese folk music . That was all the entertainment we got all the rest was canceled. I guess cause there was only three of us. We didn’t deserve the whole entertainment experience.. we saw them arrived to the boat, but then they left Everything I do I book through Viator . This is the first experience I’ve ever had and I have been using them since before Covid. We normally use my wife’s account. This is the first time I’ve used my own. For these tickets.. So do yourself a favor and just do a boat ride skip the dinner and the entertainment you’ll be much happier!!
I was expecting a different experience, food was ok although very nervous with the whole cooking safety situation, the seating area is kind of challenging to get up and go in, it was hot and humid on the boat, the whole experience felt boring.
Authentic music and food experience - good views! The food was tasty - just enough DIY to be fun without working too hard
This was honestly one of our favorite experiences in Tokyo. Everything came together perfectly: the food, the beautiful nighttime cruise, and especially the entertainment. The musician and singer were fantastic and brought so much energy and warmth to the evening. The entire staff was amazing, friendly, attentive, and made us feel genuinely welcome. Experiencing Tokyo from the water at night while enjoying great food and live entertainment made for a very special evening. Our family loved every minute of it, and we would absolutely do this again. Highly recommended!
The dinner cruise was fantastic. A great experience of traditional Japanese style. It was fun cooking our food on the table, even though that little burner contributed to the heat. lol It did cool down and the view of the Rainbow Bridge, Statue of Liberty and other surroundings were just beautiful. Our guide, Yoyo, was very friendly and informative. It was me and my husband’s 34th wedding anniversary, and this was a great way to celebrate indulging more into the Japanese culture.
The food was delicious. The staff were great! Be aware that you are sitting at a table at floor level if you have mobility issues or are older. The boat was beautifully decorated and a local performer was included which was a nice touch. However, we had to sit inside while moving so the view limited while we cruised down the river and many of us were sitting with our backs to the window. We did anchor near Tokyo Bay and had the chance to go to the upper deck for photos for about 15-20 min. The view was spectacular. However the light show that we were supposed to see had been rescheduled by about 15 min and started as we were leaving to head back which was very disappointing.
Very well organized. Was fun and the food was good. Drop off and pick up from a taxi was convenient. Entertainment was good as well.
Last minute. Easy access from southern Tokyo. Great communication.
This was a delightful experience. How lovely to be fed and entertained, to see Tokyo from the water. The start and endpoint were very accessible by taxi. Boat is enclosed but there is time during the cruise to look at the sights from the roof deck.
Great experience overall, however, the experience was coupled with tickets to Tokyo Tower, which is nowhere close to the pickup or drop off location. So keep that in mind, that part of the experience will be for another time.
The dinner was very tasty. The entertainment was traditional Japanese song. The host was so kind and sweet. It was very nice being on the water. After the cruise, we walked along the Sumida River back to our hotel. Great way to end a wonderful week in Tokyo.
This is not for the elderly person as I am. The seating is very difficult for people with mobility issues.
Excellent food and the staff super friendly. Overall a great experience. They even sang "Happy Birthday" to my daughter.
The dinner was delicious and the music was fun. It felt very traditional. The boat has good A/C, which was great in the summer heat. I wish we'd learned a little bit more as the boat was moving, but what they told us when it stops was informative and a great spot for pictures.
Wonderful hosts and delicious dinner! The only reason I’m not giving it 5 stars was the eating area was quite hot without air conditioning, the view of the city was obscured by the windows. After dinner we did get to go to the top and see the city lights which was brilliant! I would still recommend for a nice experience!
Horrifying Experience It began storming, hardcore thunder and lightning striking all around us, completely downpouring and about 30 people (our tour and another tour) huddled underneath what was a space for four people. When we got on the boat, they did not accommodate to a fish allergy, saying we had not notified them, when in fact we did. The person with the allergy was only able to eat rice and pickles. They failed to clearly identify that alcoholic beverages required cash; thankfully we had some, but not enough for everyone to have a beverage. The weather was so bad that they could not take us to the Tokyo Tower and gave us vouchers but we explained we were leaving tomorrow and had no use for them. They said “no refunds, but you can go tonight”, but it continued to storm the entire night. For almost the entire boat ride you could not see anything. The host pointed out 3 landmarks on an hour and a half cruise (was supposed to be 3 hours, but was shortened because of the weather). We were soaking wet the entire ride from huddling in tge rain before they let us board. This cruise should have been cancelled and refunded. The staff were semi-polite but not accommodating what so ever. The food was below average at best. We spent about $450 for 4 people, and it was a total waste other than the fact we got some good laughs about how absolutely terrible the experience was. I requested a partal refund but was refused. I would not recommend this experience at all. If you want to book a river cruise go somewhere else. Definitely a cash grab.
The food was amazing!! The show that was performed by the singer and guitar player was a traditional Japanese. We were with 8 in total. One was my 83 year old mother was kinda difficult for her getting up and down from the table. The staff were very friendly and everything was on time.
Wonderful experience cooking on the boat and the food was delicious. Great show as well! The tower is far and you need a taxi to get to it. Youre not dropped off in front of it. Tower was nice as well.
Boats are not air conditioned. The inside is hot and muggy and made worse by 40-50 people using gas burners to make their own Hotpot. The food is just okay 3/5. The overall score would be better with some consideration for the heat and humidity.
Overpriced and horrible service. Im deathly allergic to tofu and they dont ask or have other options as everything is prepared in advance. I asked them to take the plate away because it made me uncomfortable and they refused. I paid for 5 of us almost $600 and couldnt eat a thing so I requested a refund for my dinner via tripadvisor and both refused. Last time i
Just make sure you know exact pick up Point … not on wharf … entertainment very good & food offered ( recommend)
We had an amazing experience riding an authentic Japanese boat and participating in a tea ceremony. Our guide YoYo was fantastic, and the musician playing the national instrument along with the wonderful singer Mao added a beautiful touch to the experience. We truly enjoyed every moment of it! Thank you!!!!
The food is delicious! You will have to take your shoes off so if you are wearing sandals you may want to bring socks. I selected this for the tea ceremony option and it wasn’t a part of our experience so that was confusing but regardless we had a lovely time.
Overhyped and overpriced . Avoid at all costs. Dinner is mediocre, music is boring , very short ride and night time bridges not lit up or worth looking at. Wish we hadn’t done this.
Despite the rain, the cruise was great! Sheila was a delight, attentive, and friendly while pointing out the sites and playfully questioning us on our Japanese history. The food was delicious and plentiful. Also enjoyed the musical entertainment. Tip for your taxi driver: the entrance, up the ramp, is the first stop after the bridge.
Excellent fun night for something easy and kooky to do in Tokyo. Well organised and a bit of fun! Karen is a hoot!
If you have issues with your back, getting in and out of your seat is very difficult. It was also a bit difficult to find the metic point. The food was good and the views from the middle of the bay were worth the trip.
Fun small boat ride around Tokyo harbor with a sukiyaki (hot pot) dinner. Each person gets their ouw hotpot filled with good stuff. T. You cook it yourself and enjoy over rice. Miso soup and light fruit dessert served. Aftee dinner you go out side up top ND there is a dancing waters fountain show with music that can be viewed. Fun at might for sure (I did the 7:20pm) departure and it was perfect for that. There is also traditional Japanese music, we had a wonderful singer too who got everyone involved in the last songs. Really pleasant way to send the evening and see Tokyo at night. The food was really good (mushroom, beef, other veggies, glass noodles). I'd do this again!!
