Masue and Lina treated us to a great Japanese experience in Tokyo. I walked around a market and sampled Wagu beef. The sushi making catered for my daughter being a veggie. We thoroughly enjoyed it and was treated so well.

Tsukiji Hongwanji Temple is a Buddhist temple is unlike any other, especially in terms of its architecture. While the outside of the temple is reminiscent of South Asian and Indian traditional design, the inside adds even more to the mix. It has seen a deal of damage over the years. It burned down just 40 years after it was erected in 1617, and was destroyed again in the great 1923 earthquake. You will meet your tour guide at the main entrance of the temple then start to the tour. The tour does not include the tour of temple so please come earlier and see inside if you are interested in seeing it.
Tsukiji Market is a large wholesale market for fish, fruits and vegetables in central Tokyo. It used to be best known as one of the world's largest fish markets, handling over 2,000 tons of marine products per day before the relocation in 2018. Now the market is more about a walk-and-eat tour for visitors and our tour guide will show you how to enjoy the market.
ABC Cooking Studio is the biggest cooking school in Japan and many Japanese learn how to cook and bake in more than 90 studios all over Japan. You will make sushi plate with an skilfull and friendly instructors.

Miwa was amazing. She was very helpful and created an enjoyable experience. Lina also assisted and was a delight.
Fantastic experience. Hiroko was our sushi expert and she was so kind and patient. Despite never cooking Japanese food before it was delicious. We would highly recommend doing this experience
We had a wonderful experience with Akiko and Hiroko! They were both so kind, friendly, and welcoming. The market tour was really interesting, and we enjoyed trying new and unique Japanese foods. The cooking class was fun, interactive, and easy to follow. It was a great way to learn more about Japanese food and culture. We really enjoyed the entire experience and highly recommend it!
Fantastic fun. Akiko, our cooking instructor was very clear and fun and the result was better than I certainly expected from me, being the one wih zero cooking experience. Nono was a brilliant guide, very informative and friendly showing us round the market. Highly recommended!
Akiko was a wonderful guide! Lima was a patient and easy to understand cooking teacher. The whole experience was one of my family’s favorite on our Japan trip. We bought an egg pan on the way home to cook and share what we learned with our friends.
My husband and I had so much fun learning how to make sushi. Chef Kate and host Haruko were wonderful and the food was delicious! I would highly recommend taking the class. It was fantastic!
Such a wonderful experience exploring Tsukiji Market, discovering fresh Japanese ingredients, and making authentic Japanese dishes by myself. Travel is not just about seeing new places and tasting great food — it’s also about creating beautiful memories through new experiences. ❤️
Hiroko and NoNo is very good and very kind
Wonderful market tour! Akiko has been a fabulous guide to uncover the marvels of Tokyo’s food market. It was so good that it felt way too short and we could have spent many more hours tasting and discovering incredible foods! The sushi class was also a lot of fun, really interesting to get the secrets to great sushi making! The whole family thoroughly enjoyed the experience and we’d warmly recommend it!
We had Nono as our guide and she was super sweet!! We learned a ton about the fish market and the best places to get food there, which was really helpful as it can feel overwhelming since there’s so much. She also was an incredible teacher for the cooking class portion and had a lot of patience with us as we learned and was really encouraging and kind. We loved getting to make sushi, miso soup, and the egg roll with her and the food was delicious!! Thank you for a wonderful experience.
Unique, fun activity, walking through the market and then a fun and delicious cooking class. Both guides were so kind and helpful.
Such a great experience. Despite not actually being massive fans of fish or sushi, we absolutely loved this experience. Our host was friendly, so patient and lovely and we learned loads. Would definitely recommend this to others.
This was a great food tour! The fish market walking tour with our great guide Akiko was fun, as was the cooking class in a cooking school with our amazing instructor Lina! The sushi we made was delicious!!
Akiko is the best! Food was amazing! I would recommend to everyone!
It was very great getting to learn how to make sushi! I didn't realize how simple the process is, and it has given me the confidence to make it at home! The food market was very busy and difficult to observe, but we will be sure to visit later! Nono and Hiroko were wonderful guides and teachers!
It was fun! I think it was very informative and enjoyable for everyone.
extremely helpful and informative. Mina was a wonderful teacher
Miwa did an excellent job clearly explaining each step of how to make rolled tamago (egg) omelette, sushi (roll and temari, and miso soup. We learned a lot and had a fun time. And it was delicious!
Great to learn all the details of making sushi and also some history. Looking forward to doing this at home!
Miho was a great tour guide with a warm personality who took us to the fish market and to our class. We actually bought quite a few things from the fish market to snack on and take back home. The class was fun and we learned how to make a few things as well as enjoyed the meal together after. A very nice experience.
Miho was our Tsukiji tour group . She gave us the history of the market and took us around to the different stalls. Hiroku was our cooking instructor and we so kind and Hiroko
What an amazing experience we had! Starting with Akiko and her amazing explanations, we saw the base ingredients and learnt how produce has been cultivated. We also tried local delicacies. From there we had a short bus ride to the school and the experience was nothing short of fantastic. We were in excellent (and very patient!) hands and nothing was too much trouble. There were no language barriers and so many laughs were had. I highly recommend anyone do this tour, it’s been the perfect activity to compliment all the amazing food we’ve been eating here in Japan
We really enjoyed our tour through the fish market. Our guide was lovely and shared lots of information about Japanese food and culture. Our sushi making class was a wonderful way to start our journey through Tokyo. We learned so much about the importance of technique, process, and traditions. It was fun and interactive for our entire family.
Nono & Lina were great hosts, teachers and guides!
loved the tour and cooking experience. the guides were wonderful and very informative. what a pleasant experience for our visit to tokyo. highly recommend
Masue was a wonderful guide taking us through the amazing Tsukiji fish market. The market is so busy but we were able to navigate and learn more about this outer market. We then arrived at the ABC cooking school and had great time with our teacher, Miwa. She taught us how to make miso soup, egg omelette and sushi. This was a fun experience and enjoyed the personalized time.
We had such a wonderful experience going through the market with shitomi and the cooking class with akiko. They welcomed us so kindly and shared their culture so well. We highly recommend this interactive tour!
Medori and Akiko were great guides! The market was fun and the sushi class was really informative and interesting. Raw Japanese egg was an experience. Thank you!
Akiko was great, very good with the kids too!
Akiko made this an easy 5 star experience. She created a welcoming, relaxed environment while still keeping the class organized and engaging. We made sushi, tamagoyaki, and miso soup, and everything turned out far better than expected thanks to her clear instruction. She explained each step in a simple, practical way and made sure everyone stayed involved. You could tell she really cared about the craft, not just getting through the class. If you are going to ABC Cooking Studio, ask for Akiko. This was one of the highlights of our trip.
Akiko’s cooking class was one of the absolute highlights of our time in Tokyo. From the moment we arrived, she made us feel completely welcome and at ease. She has such a warm, patient, and approachable teaching style that made the entire experience enjoyable, even for beginners. We learned how to make sushi, miso soup, and a traditional Japanese omelette (tamagoyaki), and everything was explained clearly step by step. Akiko struck the perfect balance between demonstrating techniques and letting us be hands-on, which made it feel immersive and rewarding. What I especially loved was how she broke down each dish into simple, approachable steps without losing the authenticity of the cuisine. Every dish turned out incredibly delicious—honestly some of the best we had in Japan—and now I feel confident I could recreate them at home. Beyond the cooking, it felt like a cultural experience as well. Akiko shared thoughtful insights about Japanese ingredients, techniques, and traditions, which made the class feel meaningful and memorable. I would recommend this class to absolutely anyone visiting Tokyo. It was fun, intimate, and truly special—an experience I’ll remember long after the trip.
Absolutely amazing and super fun adventure. Taught us easy to make sushi so that we could still do it at home! It was very intimate and very fun and I would highly recommend to anyone. They show you all the highlights of the fish market and kind of skip past the busy touristy shams. Recommend going back to the fish market if you want a slower walk through.
Kate and Yuko did a great job. Learning and eating was great. Doing it in the fish market made the experience feel more authentic
Had a great time with Hiroko and Lina! We ate so much was not expecting so much food! We had a raw egg dishes and it was even better than I thought.
Hiroko was a terrific teacher. We learned a lot and then got to enjoy a wonderful Japanese meal that we created. Highly recommended if you want to learn more about preparing traditional foods. Very good!
We had an awesome experience! Akiko was a fantastic tour guide through the fish market- and highlighted points of interest and wonderful Japanese food items. Following our tour of the fish market, Akiko brought us to the ABC Cooking studio, where Miwako was our instructor. At this beautiful, clean kitchen we learned to make sushi rolls, miso soup and egg dish and a Japanese omelet. Had a wonderful time and highly recommend!
Very fun, lovely cooking instructor, yummy food!
Never tried cooking class before and didn’t know making sushi is so fun. akiko san, our instructor is very friendly and kind. We enjoyed her class very much
It was great fun and cooking instructor, Akiko-san was amazing to lead the lesson and make it more enjoyable. I will definitely try to cook again when I am back home.
Walking through Tsukiji Market with Miho was such a wonderful experience. She shared so much information about the market, the different vendors, and what foods are worth trying — it really brought the whole place to life. Hiroko was our amazing instructor for the sushi-making class. She was patient, encouraging, and gave us great tips on preparing miso soup and seasoning the rice properly. I especially loved learning how to make the Japanese egg omelette, but the highlight was definitely mastering a sushi roll! I highly recommend this experience — it’s a fantastic way to learn from locals and get hands-on with authentic Japanese cooking.

Miroko and Miho did a wonderful job taking us through the outer fish market and teaching us how to make sushi, eggs, and miso soup. It was a wonderful experience seeing all the little shops and we got a few good souvenirs and a tasty lunch!
This was a lovely event. We enjoyed visiting the Tsukuji market with Miho and then a great teaching by Hiroko at the ABC Cooking Studio. How fun and now we hope to recreate these dishes at home.
A fun experience to quickly explore the Tsukiji market and learn the basics of sushi making. Our tour guide Akiko was very nice and attentive. Miwa walked us through the proces of making sushi. Both were very kind. Would recommend!
Excellent tour of the fish market - very well informed tour guide, who gave us information on anything we wanted even taking us to places to try some local foods. M. Tanaka was fantastic in the cooking lesson.
Fascinating market visit with Akiko who shared information about the foods including nutritional value and uses for various products. Our sushi lesson with Miwa was definitely hands on, fun and educational.
The experience was amazing. The tour was filled with so much great information and amazing information and our friendly guide. The class was easy to follow along while giving great foundations in making sushi.
A lovely experience here in Tokyo! We started with a quick look at an amazing temple, then it’s just a street walk to the fish market. We wandered through all the small shops and eateries and had plenty of time with our guide Aki to taste the extensive selection of sweet and savory treats on offer. A short bus ride brought us to the cooking school, where Akiko did an amazing job teaching us how to make our own miso soup from scratch. Then we made sushi rice, and the marvelous tamago egg omelette. Then both a rolled sushi and nigiri-style sushi. Our guides were patience, informative, and a real delight. Arigato!
Our guide, Akiko, was absolutely amazing—warm, kind, and so much fun! She walked us through Tsukiji with infectious energy, introducing us to stall after stall of delicious bites we never would’ve found on our own. Each stop felt like a little foodie treasure hunt, and Akiko made the history and culture of the market come alive. The day didn’t end there—she handed us off to an incredible sushi-making class led by a true sushi sensei. It was equal parts informative and entertaining, and by the end we were rolling (and eating!) sushi like pros. If you’re visiting Tokyo, do yourself a favor and book this tour. Between Akiko’s kindness, the endless flavors, and the sushi workshop, it’s the perfect mix of food, fun, and culture. Don’t miss it!
