Brilliant experience and very helpful staff
Delicious sushi and amazing people in the class!
We had an amazing time. Mia was a terrific guide and we loved touring the market. After the class we walked around and bought quite a few items. We really wanted to get more food to eat, but were full from the delicious sushi bento boxes that we made. AJ and Mia were super helpful. Highly recommend!
Highly recommended! This experience offers a great opportunity to make your own sushi using professional-grade knives trusted by Michelin-starred chefs, high-quality sushi ingredients, and fresh wasabi, all at a very reasonable price. The experience takes just 60 minutes, and you can book as late as the day before. It's easy to fit into your schedule, even if you already have a full day of sightseeing planned. A perfect way to enjoy an authentic sushi-making experience without taking up too much time!
Kenji gave us an awesome tour of the outdoor market. He then showed us how to make various types of sushi, and we ate together. The highlight was the quality of sushi making ingredients and friendly atmosphere
My husband and I had such a great time at the sushi-making class! 🍣 It was fun, easy to follow, and we learned a lot about how sushi is made. The instructor was very friendly and patient, and the whole experience was really enjoyable. It was a lovely experience to do together, and we would definitely recommend it!
It was wonderful experience! The atmosphere, history of sushi cuisine & tsukiji market explanation, all the instruments used (bento box, bamboo, knife..). We learnt how to do sushi and maki and it was so fresh ! The degustation was great afterwards :-). Very recommended for cuisine lovers! Mia san and Masa san were wonderful hosts thank you again!!
Great class, nice and fast, and the kids (6 and 9) loved it. I've taken cooking classes before that feel like you spend so much time standing around and waiting. This is not the case here - it's fast paced and engaging -- fun for the whole family.
I joined this sushi-making class on my own and was a little unsure at first, but I felt comfortable almost immediately. The instructor was really friendly, and the group had a relaxed atmosphere. The ingredients were incredibly fresh, and I learned that the owner has deep connections with Tsukiji Market. It really showed in the quality of everything we used, from the fish to the real wasabi and Japanese knife. It felt much more special than a normal cooking class. I also loved making my own sushi bento. It was simple to follow, looked surprisingly good at the end, and tasted even better. It only takes about an hour, so it was perfect for fitting into a busy day in Tokyo. I would definitely recommend this to solo travelers who want to do something local, fun, and easy to join. One of my favorite experiences in Tokyo.
It was an amazing experience. We did it right before the flight home and it was the perfect end to a perfect trip to Tokyo!!
I learned so much more than I expected about Tsukiji and sushi! It was a wonderful experience, and the sushi was absolutely delicious.
This was such a fun experience! The value for the cost of the class was great. The class size was small which made it much easier to navigate. Not only was the instruction easy to follow, but the food was DELICIOUS!
This was such a fun class!! You learn how to make both nigiri and a sushi roll. The instructors were very sweet and knowledgeable and assisted us every step of the way! Definitely take the class, it’s 100% worth it!!

We really enjoyed the experience! Akiko and Masa were great sushi teachers, very kind. The whole experience is very complete, they help you making the sushi pieces and bring all the fresh fish from the Tsukiji market. It is a great experience to enjoy in family with your kids! At the end, you make a beautiful sushi bento box and eat all what you made. 100% recommended!
Excellent! Enjoyed the class- great instructors and great food!
Very good-quality sushi materials and a very nice instructor! This is my first time making sushi, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. The small group size creates a friendly atmosphere. The tour is the ideal length, suitable for combining with a visit to the Tsukiji Market and exploration there, or to the Ginza area. I highly recommend this tour!!
Amazing experience! Great way to experience the market. My 11 year old son loved it too. Very hands on
The kids (7 and 9), my husband and I loved this experience. It was the perfect mix of education and fun! AJ was amazing with us and made the kids feel very welcomed and didn’t rush though anything. Highly recommend!
It was so good experience to feel Japanese traditional culture! The way of teaching was so kind and I could lean more easily. I want to recommend for foreigners if you want to try Japanese culture!
Komi & Mia are wonderful hosts. The class is simple yet informative and perfect for all skill levels. Our preteen son had a great time as well. My husband and I do not order nigiri often back home, but the quality and freshness of the fish made all the difference here. My husband proclaimed that it was the best nigiri he'd had. We greatly enjoyed our selt-made bento! Don't hesitate to take the class with your entire family!
I had an absolutely incredible time at the Tsukiji Sushi Making Class! A huge thank you to AJ and MASA for such an unforgettable experience. This isn't just another generic activity, it is a true local tour. They didn't just teach us how to sushi—they deeply explained the rich food culture of the Tsukiji Market and the authentic techniques behind sushi making. Crafting our own beautiful sushi bento box at the end was an absolute highlight! If you want to avoid the usual tourist traps and dive into the real culinary heart of Tokyo, I highly recommend this tour. Thank you so much again, AJ and MASA! You guys are the best!
Very well made and conducted. It was a top notch memory making the bento box and arranging the sushi.
Local family with over hundred years of history put together a genuine tour of the market and a sushi bento making class. Our family really enjoy the tour which included “insider” perspective and many stands were friends and family. Tour ended with a great sushi making class where we learned how to make sushi and a toro cut roll. Great experience and was a great lunch that we got to make. This is clearly not a tourist trap. We highly recommended.
The teachers were exceptional. Had a great time making the sushi. They were so well prepared and patient. Loved how my bento box ended up. Highly recommend to anyone. You will love it. 😊
Very fun and chill experience. AJ and Masa were very informative and great teachers! Got to try real wasabi and had a very yummy and rewarding lunch. Recommend if you’re looking for a quick lesson on sushi and brief into to Tsukiji market. All ingredients were sourced from the market which was a nice touch.
It was my first time to make sushi and I really enjoyed it. The staffs were all kind and the explanation was also easy to understand for foreigners. On top of it, the sushi bento was so delicious. It’s great that i can enjoy sushi of this quality and this experience at this price.
I had an absolutely amazing time on this tour! Our guide, AJ, was incredibly knowledgeable, friendly, and energetic. The day started with a fascinating walking tour of the Tsukiji Outer Market, where AJ shared interesting facts about Japanese food culture and the local ingredients. After the market, we moved on to the hands-on sushi-making experience. AJ was an excellent instructor—patient, encouraging, and highly skilled. He broke down the techniques for shaping the rice and placing the fish so that even complete beginners could follow along perfectly. The sushi we made tasted phenomenal, and the whole atmosphere was so much fun. If you are looking for an authentic and memorable food experience in Tokyo, I highly recommend booking this tour. Thank you, AJ, for a fantastic day!

Akiko walked through the sushi making process step by step and gave great tips, and provided some interesting history. Masa got all the ingredients for the sushi the morning of. The class also provided a handmade bento box, and my end result was beautiful! You get to eat the sushi after the class, and it is some of the best I have ever had. I am so grateful for their kindness, their patience, and joy. This was one of the highlights of my trip. They just began their class in March, PLEASE TAKE IT!! Absolutely no regrets. Thank you so much Masa and Akiko!!!
It was an authentic experience in the middle of Tsukiji market!
This sushi class was amazing! It is run by the true local family who are living in the market, and I was able to feel an authentic hospitality from them :) They even showed us the real Wasabi and it was great!
Amazing experience can’t recommend enough. AJ was so nice and engaging, and the history and culture was so interesting to learn about. Would recommend to anyone who’s spending the day checking out Tsukiji market
This was such a fun experience! Learned how to make sushi for a bento box and was able to eat it afterwards! AJ lead the class as the instructor and was so pleasant and wonderful. Highly recommend this for anyone who wants a fun activity and a little break from walking all around Tokyo!
We had such a fun and memorable sushi experience! Being located in Tsukiji and run by people who are truly part of the Tsukiji community gave the class a genuine and trustworthy feeling that went beyond a typical tourist activity. The studio was very clean, and the table setting and presentation were nicely prepared, creating a comfortable atmosphere. The explanations were clear and easy to follow, and it was fascinating to learn about authentic Japanese kitchen tools and simple sushi-making techniques. One of the most enjoyable parts was packing the sushi into the traditional wooden bento box, which made the experience feel extra special. Masa was especially attentive and supportive throughout the class, helping us at just the right moments and even taking photos for us, which made the experience even more enjoyable and relaxing. The sushi was absolutely delicious, and the one-hour class went by so quickly! Highly recommended for anyone looking for a fun, authentic, and trustworthy sushi-making experience in Tokyo.
The 1-hour sushi making class went by so quickly. The class was also very well organized, which made the whole experience smooth and enjoyable. Making and decorating our own sushi bento was such a fun and unique experience. I especially enjoyed eating the salmon with real fresh wasabi — it was absolutely delicious and something I don’t usually get to experience.
A fun and informative sushi class in the heart of Tsukiji! I felt very accomplished eating a sushi lunch I made myself. My favourite part was filling the inarizushi pocket & getting the opportunity to try fresh wasabi, which is pretty rare. They have a vegetarian/vegan option, too, which I appreciate. All in all a great time.
I booked this bento making class for my little brother and I during our stay in Japan. The place was easy to find as long as you follow your GPS directions. The class was so fun and interactive. They took pictures for us while we focused on sushi making technique. And the best part was eating sushi in the middle of the fish market!
Excellent workshop, my sister and I made delicious sushi
We had such a wonderful time! Not only did we make a DELICIOUS bento box, we learned more about proper sushi etiquette and were able to leave with some wonderful souvenirs and new sushi cutlery.
