Absolutely outstanding, the best food tour I've had anywhere we've ever been. We're so happy we took this tour and our guide was outstanding, very knowledgeable and so much fun. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone, and I would do it early in the trip so you can have a better understanding of the food and local shops.

What a wonderful experience, eating your way through an exciting and charming fish market! Robert-san was the perfect guide, giving us historical information as he led us to taste perfect fruit, snacks, wagyu, dashi, and sushi. He made sure everyone in the group felt included. I felt comfortable enough to visit again on my own!
Kazu was a fantastic guide and was full of information about the market and the surrounding areas. He took us to try the key foods in the market getting around a lot of the other tourists.
Great experience exploring Tsukiji Outer Market! Our guide - Karin- was incredibly friendly, knowledgeable, and made the tour both fun and informative. The experience included sake tasting, a walk through the bustling market, several delicious food tastings, and a sit-down meal at a nearby restaurant. It was a wonderful way to experience Tokyo’s food culture and learn more about the market. A couple of tips: Plan to spend most of the tour outdoors, so dress for the weather, and bring some Japanese yen if you’d like to purchase additional food or souvenirs while exploring. Overall, a fantastic experience that I would highly recommend!
This was an excellent experience and by far my favorite Viator activity in Tokyo. Loved the hustle of the market, the food and the locals.
Kazu was great and a good guide! Very knowledgeable and helpful
We arrived late due to our own mess up with the trains. We thought we had to cancel, but they sent us the location for the next stop and we joined in. Nick welcomed us into the group. He was informative, including, patient with our baby and stroller, and so, so nice!! The food was very good and we tasted a lot more things than we expected. Would highly recommend!
Kito did a great job showing us every facet of the fish market. The tastings were fabulous and the sushi lunch at the end was fantastic
The tour was amazing Kiyo‘s explanation of the Tsukiji market was very easy to understand. Looking forward to having another experience.
We had a fantastic time on the Tsukiji Fish Market tour with Sachi. She was incredibly knowledgeable, passionate and great fun, making the whole experience both interesting and entertaining. We learnt so much about Japanese food, culture and the market. Sachi made the tour really special.
Kanaka was a very personable and knowledgeable guide. She gave us lots of information about Japanese food and culture as well as the market. We got very tasty samples and what turned out to be a full sushi lunch at the end. Would recommend. It turned out to be excellent value for the price.
Hiro our guide was knowledgeable, witty, very attentive & flexible. I hope all my guides on this trip are as good as Hiro. Had a wonderful time & enjoyed it immensely. Well done Hiro.,
Great tour of the Tokyo Tsukiji Fish Market. Kanako, our tour guide was fantastic and shared a lot of local knowledge. Would highly recommend the tour!
This was a great way to see the Tokyo Fish Market which could be overwhelming on your own. The quality of the seafood is fantastic. Thank you Kanako!
We really enjoyed our morning wandering the fish market, exploring the back alleys and sampling the foods. Miki was a great tour leader and we all enjoyed the experience; finished off with a lesson on slicing sushi and making your own bowl to eat. Highly recommended.
So fun and helpful to have a guide through the market! Got to try a wonderful range of food, buy Japanese knives, and see a massive tuna! Dai-ichi was our guide and he was so lovely!! Highly recommend
Don't miss a visit to the largest fish market in the world. We loved touring with our guide, Kumi. Fun and memorable experience!
Sayo, our guide, was excellent. She guided us through the crowded fish market with ease and kept our attention with interesting facts and anecdotes the entire time. At the beginning of the tour I thought that 3 hours would be much too long and I thought I would be bored but our guide, Sayo, was so enthusiastic and showed us so many things that I was sad when the tour was over. We especially enjoyed the food tastings. You should definitely do this tour and I would put in on a must do list for first-timers like us in Tokyo.
Our guide Akiko was excellent. And we had so much food! Extensive knowledge and a lot of fun. Yugo the sushi chef was extremely nice and also filled us up. Would not hesitate to recommend.
I really enjoyed my tour with Akiko, who is very knowledgeable and personable. The variety of food we had at the fish market was great. The cooking class with Yugo was also great, and the food was also great.
I highly recommend booking this tour. Our tour guide, Miki, was absolutely wonderful. She had great information about the history of the market, current happenings at the market, and the food samples were great!
Kanako is a great guide for this tour. Lots of food including A5 Wagyu beef that melted in my mouth good, sushi, mochi, seasonal fruit, eggs, etc. Learned about Tsukiji Market, food, vendors, and history. Kanako also helped me to get a quality knife. She is kind and knowledgeable.
Say was great at showing us around and explaining.
I had a fantastic experience touring Tsukiji Fish Market with Kaori! She was incredibly friendly, knowledgeable, and engaging throughout the tour. Her detailed descriptions and explanations gave us a much deeper appreciation of the market, its history, and Japanese food culture. She made the entire experience both educational and enjoyable. Highly recommend Kaori to anyone visiting Tokyo! My favorite was the egg statue in the shrine outside the market : )
A good food & walking tour with our guide Miky with lots of interesting foods to view and taste. Time passed by quickly and Miky had lots of info to share. A slight surprise at the end which was excellent (tho I won't spoil it)
Even though it was raining on and off and it was very crowded, we still had a wonderful day. Our guide, Miyu, spoke English and was absolutely lovely and informative as well. The food tastings were generous and delicious. Thank you Miyu for a lovely day.
Mieko was an amazing tour guide and everything was delicious!
The best food experience with Rie our guide touring the markets, sampling the products learning how to cook the products and visiting local tourist areas and markets.
I recently took a guided tour of the food market with Usha, and it was an absolute highlight of the trip. Usha is wonderful—she is very friendly, approachable, and deeply knowledgeable about everything we saw. She did a fantastic job explaining the different spices, ingredients, and dishes we came across, making the whole experience both engaging and delicious. A very warm recommendation for anyone looking to truly experience the local food scene!
Ken did a great job showing us the market! 10/10!
Naz was a fantastic tour guide. She was very kind and informative and was extremely flexible with our group — letting us pause multiple times to make as hoc purchases. She knows the history of the area and gave great recommendations.
Naz was so knowledgeable and kind!
Yoshoku did a great job giving us a great food tour.
Kiyomi was a wonderful guide and we really enjoyed his company and took much from his considerable knowledge. I would recommend him very highly.
Hiro was incredibly knowledgeable, friendly, and helpful throughout the tour. The length was just right, and we got to see some wonderful hidden gems, including the market’s top floor and a temple. The sushi knife-skills training was the perfect way to end the tour. Highly recommend!
Had an amazing time on this tour! Our guide You was friendly and attentive, answered all our questions, and even got some extra food to try based on our preferences. Highly recommend!
An excellent tour - our guide Dai-Ichi was very knowledgeable, attentive and concerned to ensure we were getting the most out of the tour. Highly recommended
Good tour to a noteworthy place in Tokyo. Especially well suited for food tasting in a market setting. Guide was well informed and conscientious of our needs. Better if the initial temple visit were skipped. Also ditch the menu lesson on plastic cards. Just head directly to the market and dive right in.
First, I’ll prefix this to say we have been on more than a dozen food tours across the world & found them all to be excellent - the Tsukiji Fish Market tour is the exception & the first I would recommend everyone stay clear of. Our guide - Harumi - whilst very nice, struggled with English. Firstly, she said we should have a group photo then walked off without telling us to follow & we were left standing as a group. She then showed, in my opinion, utter rudeness by telling us background on the temple whilst in the temple whilst praying was underway - she was told to be quiet but carried on talking - this made us all feel very uncomfortable. The first stop on this pre-paid tour required us to pay for sashimi & sit in separate groups as there was no booked table. The next 2 stops were just free samples from the market. We had small samples of wagyu and omelette, but not enough to count towards a meal. The last stop where we sat down was in an empty restaurant and we then had to pay for any drinks. The amount of food we ate on the tour equated to less than 20% of the ticket price - so not only did we leave hungry, but frustrated we were out of pocket. Please, save yourself some money and do not book this tour! There are enough great food options in the Tsukiji market to choose from and you can spend your money on actually eating food rather than just meandering through the market with a guide who doesn’t speak good English & taking free samples. I have requested a refund for this tour as it did not meet expectations, & also created a negative experience, particularly when compared to other tours we went on in Shinjuku & Shibuya the previous 2 days which were fantastic.
We had an amazing time with our guide Yuki. She was sweet and fun. We tasted so many things we normally wouldn’t have. Our group of 4 really enjoyed our tour!
Our guide, Oku, was very good and took great care to make sure that we saw everything there was to see. Very interesting tour. Good samples of the various wares.
Interesting and informative experience
We had a great time exploring Tsukiji and the fish market with our guide Kiyo. The group was small so we were able to easily navigate the market. Kiyo shared a lot of great knowledge and stories about the market and area in general, and the food was absolutely delicious! The wagyu skewers is a must have
Our guide Taka-san was very informative about the temple and shrine along with all the products sold in the marketplace. The sampled food items were all delicious! He was very kind and attentive. He made the tour so much more enjoyable.
A great tour around the market! Akiko Ku was our our guide and she was phenomenal. She was very knowledgeable and brought us around to some awesome spots. Highly recommend!
Akiko Ku is a great host and guide, very kind, attentive and thoughtful. The food stops were delicious, as well as learning about the market overall.
Akiko Ku was great! Thank you!
Akiko Ku was very nice and knowledgable. Highly recommend.
Usha was an amazing guide! She was incredibly friendly and inviting. She made everyone in our group (one couple, and my younger sister and I) feel incredibly welcomed and answered all of our questions. She was super informational and let us stop at stalls that looked interesting so we can buy souvenirs and try different food. I would definitely book this again the next time I come with new people and request for Usha specifically, she is the best!
Sochi was a great guide. I learned a great deal about Japanese food. Fantastic food choices & market experience.
