Patrick was a great tour guide !! We loved every minute we spent walking around Tokyo gaining a lot of knowledge throughout the day. Patrick was very attentive, knowledgeable and was able to answer all of our questions. We asked to see some hidden gems and he was able to provide. Thanks to Patrick we were able to gain a good local experience by tasting high quality sake and other local foods. I recommend Patrick as a tour guide to anyone seeking a great experience in Tokyo.

We had a great day with Hirotake, whose superb English enabled us to learn a lot more about the city on our day out. We visited a wide variety of places, from shrines to a matcha café, posh department stores to a shop selling cheap second hand kimonos (well, we had to buy one!) and a boat trip on the river. We walked all day and enjoyed every minute.
Highly recommend this way of getting to know the city. Fulvio was a terrific guide and was totally flexible in planning a day's outing that suited our needs. Of course you can't see everything in a day but this is a perfect way to focus in on your interests, while gaining some great local insights on the culture and way of life along the way. We did the tour on our first day in Tokyo, leaving us time during the rest of our stay to re-visit some areas in greater detail and other areas suggested by Fulvio (during our day tour and a follow-up email he promptly sent afterwards). While Fulvio was always mindful about pacing to meet our needs, it's fair to say you need a good pair of walking shoes! Also, if you're not confident with the subway, this is also a great way to get to know it as you spend the day hopping on and off lines to get to your destinations.
Fulvio did a great job of customizing the day for my teenage daughter and I. It was a great combination of history, culture, and touristy and non-touristy sites. It is a long day and a lot of walking - we logged more than 25,000 steps and 11 miles on the tour - but we saw a lot of stuff. But don't worry - he asked multiple times if we were OK with the walking and that there are ways to reduce the walking if needed. We only had 48 hours in Tokyo and it was our first time there and this was a great way to see a lot of different places as we plan our return trip.
A full day tour with Noriko. Just a great day. She was very knowledgable and personable. Took us all over and fed us local foods. Highly recommend Noriko. Thanks again for an awesome day.
Had Felipe da Sousa of Lokafy as the perfect guide. I am very interested in the culture of a country and he fed me many details. Patient helpful interesting guide took us to fascinating areas.
Our guide Kento led us on a jam-packed day visiting all the highlights of Tokyo...Senso-ji, Ueno Park, Shibuya, Skytree Tower, Meiji Shrine, etc. His English is perfect, and he is pleasant and cheerful, with good sense of humor. His guidance through the subway system was invaluable, and he led us unerringly from each site to the next. He made sure to show us many aspects of the city, and to explain unfamiliar rituals and customs. Kento made sure that we had a wonderful day, and we highly recommend him!
I had the best guide one couple ask for- funny, energetic, knowledgeable, spoke great English and make my adventure unforgettable Thanks Valentina!
Kento showed us so much of Tokyo in the day we spent with him. He went out of his way to cover everything we asked for, including helping us find some particular Kirby figures that our son collects, and also brought us to a fantastic restaurant for lunch that we wouldn't have found on our own.
We had the great opportunity to see Tokyo and talk about the city, Japan and it’s people with a local. The day was clear and mild and we walked through some pretty backstreets, stroked around lovely gardens and visited holy places.
Our tour guide, Martin, was very knowledgeable and a fun/flexible guide. He gave us options to customize our tour and kept us going for almost the full 8 hours (we cut it short short by about a half hour as we were exhausted). Tokyo is a huge and complex city, yet Martin knew the city almost like a local who had lived there all his life. He could easily navigate between the old and new of an ever changing city. This is a tour well worth your time and investment, and we loved that it was private and customized to our preference.
My lovely wife and I booked an all day private walking tour with Martin Brown. It gave us a good overall experience of Japanese culture and way of living. We experienced the fish market, the Hama-rikyu Gardens, a river boat ride, a temple and a shrine and a number of shopping areas. We ended our day at the Shibuya Crossing. Martin was a lovely guide who showed us a glimpse of Tokyo and taught us to us the local bus and underground service. Martin is a wonderful and friendly guide and we became quite good friends over the day
Martin Brown took a group of 7 South Africans on an eight hour overview of Tokyo. We had a great day with highlights of Tokyo, information about the culture and a wonderful typical Japanese foodie experience. Looking back on a tour of Borneo, Japan (watching a Bok-game at the RWC) and Singapore, our eight hour tour in the capable hands of Martin definitely will remain a highlight. Definitely a tour guide to request by name when visiting Tokyo!
This was our first time in Tokyo and we were so lucky to have Patrick as our guide. It felt as though we were touring this beautiful city with a personal friend, who did a beautiful job of taking us to the places we were interested in seeing but, more importantly, gave us an insider's view of Tokyo. Patrick showed us how to navigate the metro; took us to eat the most fabulous food in the Ginza: and shared a cold beer with us in an out of the way, small, local bar. We had a wonderful day.
We (Family of 4 with children aged 11 and 16) visited Tokyo for only three days and wanted to have a guided tour where we could see and experience things that was interesting and fun for all ages. After filling out our "interest form" we were given Kento as our tour guide, and he really did a great job showing us around the city - combining metero and walking. We would never have found all these places and areas on our own and we feel that we really got covered a lot of the city in just one day! In addition we learned how to use the metero which was very useful for the next few days. The fact that Kento is young (22 years) made it easy for him to connect also with our children and making the day fun for them as well, taking their interests into consideration. Kento also speaks very well English so it was easy to communicate with him and we all had a fun and interesting day! At the end of the day we were exhausted and very happy. Job well done!
We spent the day touring Toyko with Patrick and had a wonderful time. Patrick is friendly and easy to chat with. He speaks very good English and Japanese so was able to translate for us when shopping and ordering our lunch. We spent a full day looking around Toyko and Patrick showed us many places we had not known about. We travelled mostly by train and Patrick helped us to learn how to navigate the train system which has helped us immensely. We highly recommend a tour with Patrick!
We had a great day with Mutz! She took us all over Tokyo. Great eye for details and super helpful getting us train passes to lunch! Thank you Mutz! Highly recommend this company!
Kenji was an excellent tour guide. He met us on time, took us everywhere we wanted to go, and was very patient with us.
We did the must see Tokyo tour with Patrick. He did such a great job he took us to a place near Nippori Station and we explored side streets that we otherwise would have never gone too and got to see a different side of Tokyo. The tour was great because it was very flexible to what we wanted. We got great food that we wanted and Patrick gave us some great suggestions for the remainder of our stay in Japan. He also took some great pictures for us. I really wanted to find some gifts for family and he helped me find exactly what I was looking for. 8 hours was a little rough but it was fun to get too see all the spots we wanted to visit and hear more about the city that we didn’t know.
We covered so much in the 8 hours , every thing we asked for and more, very happy, lucky in that we saw so many cherry blossoms in bloom.
We were traveling with Giovanni and unfortunately were a bit disappointed! While we have seen all the places in Tokyo that might be worth seeing, we never felt like we were really immersed in this megacity. In addition, we had the feeling several times that Giovanni knows his way around, but he, except for a shop that offered used kimonos, could not recommend any special features, e.g. small restaurants or pubs for lunch, as a local. The supposedly super authentic restaurants that he had announced to us for the end of the evening were not tourist rip-offs, but mainly restaurants visited by tourists. On a tour the night before we experienced considerably more authentic restaurants and pubs - just a shame!!
Martino was very nice , helpful and helpful to know the manga district , he took us to some top shops in the neighborhood also giving us tips on purchases. For a group of Italians it is perfect because it knows all the nuances of our needs. But I think he would be very good with other foreign tourists as well. I highly recommend . The only sore note is that in 6 hours we only did one neighborhood, but it is not up to him. When you walk into a mega Electronics store you risk spending 3 hours!
È stato un esperienza veramente fantastica. La nostra guida, Giuliano, ci ha permesso di visitare la città venendo incontro alle nostre esigenze, fornendoci utilissimi consigli per il resto della vacanza. È stato veramente un piacere. Grazie a Giuliano
