Itinerary
Feel the power and spirit of Japan’s national sport in an exciting sumo-themed venue with a real dohyo (sumo ring) at its center! Your evening begins with a graceful geisha dance, followed by fun, bilingual live commentary that brings sumo’s history, culture, and humor to life. Watch retired sumo wrestlers demonstrate traditional techniques and playful matches up close. Feeling brave? You might even get the rare chance to step into the ring yourself for a friendly bout — participants are chosen by lottery! During the show, enjoy an all-you-can-eat meal featuring hearty chanko-nabe (chicken hot pot) and a variety of Japanese side dishes. At the end, capture the memory with a printed photo with the wrestlers and take home an exclusive souvenir gift set. Note: This is an entertainment-based show featuring retired sumo wrestlers. For those who wish to watch real training, please visit an active sumo stable elsewhere in Tokyo.

What a fantastic night. Great food. Knowledgable compere Great sumo wrestlers and what a fun night. Good very hot and tasty. Would recommend for anyone wanting to watch sumo and get a great insight. Service very good
Very engaging, funny, good food, cheap drinks and an all round good show. Sumo boys and host were good entertainment.
Fun cultural experience in food, art and athletics.
A fun entertaining evening with lots of audience participation. Our group of 6 all enjoyed the show and would recommend to others.
Outstanding food, and generous portions. The show was good and informative. My only suggestion would be that at times it felt like they were trying to stretch it to 2 hours. I understand they are retired, and aren't able to wrestle competitively, but I would have loved to watch a video of actual matches!
What a fun experience. The Sumo wrestlers were very entertaining and fun. Good food too. The audience participation was SO fun! So glad we went.
The event was varied, informative and great fun. The food was delicious and the service excellent. Thoroughly enjoyed our evening
The show was a delightful introduction to Sumo. We learned a bit about its origins, its rules and traditions before launching into a raucous exhibition. Our Sumo wrestlers were Akanazumo and Akananiski and they were awesome. The crowd was involved with the matches through rousing cheers and there was also some crowd participation. The show started with a traditional dance by a Geisha, before the dohyō was blessed for competition. At the end of the show, each group gets a picture with all the participants. The chicken hot pot was also delicious.
Excellent entertainment and meal. The weather’s and the host and staff were exceptional and catered to all the customers needs and more. Well worth the money and simply good fun with good food and great entertainment. Thoroughly recommend this activity.
If you're expecting to go to a serious sumo show, then this is not the show for you. That being said it was a very funny and informative show that gives you a run down on how sumo is performed as well as the rules and the lifestyles of the wrestlers. It was very funny and had dinner provided, which was very tasty. Would recommend!
Food was good, all you can eat. Very entertaining and informative about sumo. Audience participation.
I’ll be beyond my expectations we got to see more than just training or moves. We were able to understand the sumo wrestlers and what they go through what their life is like and their delightful attitudes. Much more than I can express here for anyone who wants to truly understand the culture, the commitment of what it takes to be a sumo wrestler. And a great insight of their passion and attitudes towards their craft commitments , team and audience.
As most people have said, this was an absolute blast! Educational, entertaining and delicious food. What more could you ask for?
This was a really unique, fun experience. We learned a lot about the sport of sumo wrestling and were amazed at the wrestlers athleticism. The wrestlers connected often with the audience using humor and playacting. They were great! The geisha's dance was lovely and you could tell it had taken many years to perfect. The food was plentiful and they offered as much as you could eat. We had a great time and would highly recommend the experience!
We really enjoyed the show! The sumo wrestlers were entertaining, and the geisha performance was beautiful. The food was delicious, and the service and hospitality were wonderful. It was a memorable experience from start to finish!
Fantastic evening, fun and entertaining. Careful siting in the front row, a sumo might be added to your dinner plate. :)
Absolutely great show, highly recommend and so much fun 😁 would come again and bring friends & family
Absolutely amazing experience all around. Good show, with great explanations for the rules and history of sumo. Would absolutely recommend to anyone visiting Japan.
This was educational and fun. We would recommend it to everyone! The food was great. No fishy tasting stuff and you could get all you wanted. If we came back, we would go again.
What an entertaining evening. Learned about Sumo Wrestlers and the meal and experience was fun. Definitely glad we did this and since it was close to Sensi ji Temple walked there afterwards.
Fun show, wrestlers and MC were fun. Very interactive. Food was good and unlimited. I would recommend this.
What a great experience. So much and so interactive. The food was really good and you can all you can eat the whole show. Had such an amazing time👍🎉 Definitely worth seeing!
What a brilliant evening. Food was fabulous and wrestlers were soooo funny! Presenter was very clear and very accomodating. Fabulous evening!
From the minute we walked into the room the whole two hour experience was fantastic. The Chicken Hotpot meal was delicious and plentiful. The first drink was free but food was unlimited throughout. The MC was very knowledgeable and it was interesting to learn about the Sumo world, and we were also able to ask them questions at the end. The session was loud, engaging, enjoyable and funny. I could not recommend this highly enough. We didn’t volunteer but 8 people in the audience were given the opportunity to wrestle the Sumo of their choice.
A very touristy thing to do. However it was very entertaining and a good activity for a night out in Tokyo.
If you plan to visit Tokyo put this on your to do list. Buy your tickets in advance to make sure you get a seat. This sumo dinner show was the absolute highlight of our short trip in Tokyo. The show was very entertaining and a short history in sumo was given to the audience. The wrestlers were very engaged with the audience and the emcee was just fantastic. It was just a very fun experience.
It was fun and a great change of pace in our itinerary. Everyone was very kind and talented. Food was also good.
Pretty average - a lot of talking, very little action. The 2 Sumo Wrestlers were on the smaller side. They spent more time wrestling members of the audience than wrestling themselves. Very much a novelty act. If you want to see Sumo Wrestling - this will disappoint.
Very entertaining. Pina the emcee got the audience to participate. Gave great history. Food is hot and tasty. Sumo wrestlers are “huge as my daughter describes “. Small area which makes it more you’re a part of the group. I love the close intimate setting for the show Audience participation was encouraged and lots volunteered .Women fighting with the wrestlers was so funny.
This was a very entertaining 2 hour show. A good mix of education about the lives and training of the Sumo, presented by retired Sumo wrestlers, with a twist of humour. They were good showmen. Very professionally presented and organised so the two hour show was paced well. The included meal was served quickly while we had a short introduction on the history of Sumo. The meal was tasty and drinks prices after the first included one were reasonable. Then the wrestlers demonstrated their training routines and we learned the rules of Sumo. After that there was a match with the spectators cheering on our respective wrestlers, and then a chance for some members of the audience to challenge the wrestlers themselves. It was great fun as well as being educational. The venue was only a ten minute walk from the metro station and easy to find. Book through tripadvisor/Viator for a cheaper price. Highly recommended.
Amazing from start to finish. You will watch a beautiful geisha dance first and then learn about the history and rules of sumo in a very fun and entertaining way. The staff is really helpful! The whole atmosphere is incredible.
Very fun introduction to Sumo culture in Japan. Food is good and everything was very professional. Is it purely for tourists? yes, very much so. But, if you want to know more, and have a entertaning show, then I highly recogment it.
We had a fantastic afternoon at sumo and geisha show. Food was excellent and you could order as much as you liked. A free drink of your choice aswell and you could buy more. We had a geisha dance, an explanation of sumo and the two sumo guys were so entertaining and funny and also did a three round match. It was fully interactive and a wonderful time was had by all. We all got a free picture with sumos and geisha and a free souvenir canvas bag. Worth every penny and we thought very reasonable for what you got! Two hours of full entertainment with food and drink …I would recommend this event 100%…also it was so handy for a big shopping area all around. Really close to temple aswell. You could spend the whole day in the area.
It was an amazing and fun experience to see sumo and geisha dancing. I highly recommend going to Asakusa Sumo Club.
Fabulous fun. A great show to learn about Sumo in a fun and entertaining way. The Sumo wrestlers entertained us with their personalities/showmanship. The value for money was good for a meal (all you can eat) and a show. The host/presenter was fabulous and engaging also. We had a great time. One highlight of our trip for sure.
This show was one do our favorite things of the whole trip! They had us all laughing and were fun to watch
Fun experience, learned a lot about the sport. Food was also delicious. Staff and performers were committed.
This is a great and fun way to learn a little about Sumo wrestling. A lovely Japanese meal provided and so much fun for all the family with audience participation , appropriate for all ages . Loved it.
Great show. Very amusing for anybody.
Great entertaining night . Enjoyed the show. Sumo wrestlers where both entertaining and fun to watch. Food was delicious .
A “have to” experience. The show and food are all worth the price. Very organized, funny, and very enjoyable.
This was a really fun evening with sumo exhibitions, some geisha dances, great photo opportunities. The meal served with free drinks was really quite good.
We had the best time here. It was fun walking around to find the place and the food and drinks were fine and plentiful. The highlight was the show and that my seven year old granddaughter was one of the people selected for a match. It was hilarious. Everyone was good at their parts. I would highly recommend.
We enjoyed the show and the food. Only suggestion - 8 people to wrestle with the sumos seemed like overkill and took took much time. Four people would have been enough. Great evening.
Way more laughter than I expected and the food was perfect. It taught us about the history of sumo and the energy was just what was needed after 20k steps!
What a great time! Good food & high energy entertainment. A must do if you want to learn the history of the sumo wrestling along with a good laugh.
Very entertaining! Highly recommend. Food was also good. The sumo wrestlers were fun. Love our souvenir photo!
This was so entertaining! The sumo wrestlers were hilarious and the geisha was beautiful. We laughed a lot and thoroughly enjoyed this.
