The Myth of Tomorrow" is a large mural created by the famous Japanese artist Taro Okamoto, located in Shibuya Station, Tokyo. This striking piece depicts the horrors and destruction of the atomic bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki, as well as a broader message of hope and rebirth. The mural, originally created in Mexico and later moved to Japan, was lost for many years before being rediscovered and restored. Now, it stands as a powerful symbol of post-war rebirth and the potential for a brighter future. Visitors to Shibuya can view this iconic work of art in the bustling context of one of Tokyo's most dynamic neighborhoods, making it a poignant stop in the heart of modern Japan.
Shibuya Crossing, often referred to as "The Scramble," is one of the most iconic landmarks in Tokyo, Japan. Located in front of Shibuya Station, this intersection is famed for being one of the busiest pedestrian crossings in the world. Every few minutes, the traffic lights turn red in all directions, allowing hundreds of people to flood into the intersection from all sides, creating a remarkable spectacle of organized chaos. The area surrounding Shibuya Crossing is a hub of activity, filled with shopping, entertainment, and dining options, making it a vibrant snapshot of Tokyo's fast-paced urban culture. It's a must-see for visitors looking to experience the pulse of the city.
Miyashita Park in Shibuya, Tokyo, is a unique urban renewal project that transforms a conventional park into a multi-level sports and recreational facility. Spanning over an area once known merely as a simple green space, the redesigned Miyashita Park now features a variety of sports facilities including a skate park, a climbing wall, and a multi-use sports court. It also hosts a variety of shops and eateries, effectively blending leisure, shopping, and dining into one seamlessly integrated space. Located directly above Shibuya Station and stretching between Shibuya and Harajuku, the park offers both locals and tourists a refreshing, contemporary place to relax, exercise, and enjoy the bustling city environment from a fresh perspective.
Nonbei Yokocho, often translated as "Drunkard's Alley," is a charming and historical part of Shibuya, Tokyo. This narrow alleyway is tucked away near Shibuya Station and is famed for its tiny, traditional Japanese bars and eateries. The area, which consists of two parallel lanes, is packed with small establishments, some of which can only seat a handful of patrons at a time. Each bar offers a unique atmosphere and specialty, ranging from sake and beer to local snacks and full meals. Nonbei Yokocho provides an intimate setting for visitors to mingle with locals and experience the authentic, cozy izakaya (Japanese pub) culture that is a stark contrast to the bustling Shibuya outside. It's a must-visit for anyone looking to dive deeper into Tokyo's culinary and social fabric.
Shibuya Center Gai is a vibrant and bustling shopping street at the heart of Tokyo's Shibuya district, known for its youthful energy and trend-setting culture. This pedestrian zone draws both locals and tourists with its wide array of shops, boutiques, and eateries, ranging from big brand names to unique, independent outlets. The street is also famous for its nightlife, featuring numerous bars, clubs, and live music venues that capture the vibrant spirit of Tokyo after dark. Center Gai is the epitome of Shibuya's fast-paced, fashion-forward, and multimedia-influenced character, making it an essential experience for anyone visiting the city and looking to immerse themselves in Tokyo's contemporary urban culture.
Maruyama-cho in Shibuya, Tokyo, is a neighborhood known for its historical significance as the city's former red-light district. Today, it has transformed into a trendy area that retains an eclectic mix of the old and new. The neighborhood boasts a variety of entertainment options including live music venues, bars, and restaurants, alongside remnants of its past like love hotels and smaller, more traditional establishments. Maruyama-cho has a slightly edgier vibe compared to more polished areas of Shibuya, offering a blend of cultural experiences that appeal to both history enthusiasts and those looking to enjoy Tokyo's modern nightlife and entertainment scene. This combination makes Maruyama-cho a fascinating stop for visitors interested in exploring the layers of Shibuya's urban culture.
The Hachiko Statue, located just outside Shibuya Station in Tokyo, is one of the most beloved landmarks in Japan. This bronze statue commemorates Hachiko, an Akita dog who became famous for his unwavering loyalty. Hachiko waited for his owner at Shibuya Station every day, even continuing to do so for nearly a decade after his owner's death in 1925. The story of Hachiko touches the hearts of many and symbolizes loyalty and devotion. Today, the statue is a popular meeting spot for locals and a must-visit for tourists, often serving as a poignant reminder of the enduring bonds between humans and their pets. The area around the statue frequently buzzes with visitors taking photos and enjoying one of Tokyo's most heartfelt stories.

Really good tour of shibuya, guide Loc was lovely! Plenty of time spent at each place for photos etc. good length of time for the tour. Would highly recommend!
Great experience! Loc was an amazing guide!
Excellent tour by Gray! Very knowledgable and happy to answer all questions! A must do to learn a bit of history and culture of the area!
I would not recommend this tour. The tour guide was not available at the pick up area. There was no prior confirmation or contact by the guide.
Loc was our tour guide and he did a fantastic job. He was so interesting and we felt that that we really got to know the area well. It was our first day and he did a great job in introducing us to the area.
Booked a small group Shibuya tour but ended up on private tour. The guide and walk was great.
Gray was very personable and gave great stories about all of the areas within Shibuya and the many highlights to look out for
Good introduction into the history and the current culture of Shibuya area. Gray, our guide, was very knowledgeable but difficult to hear at times.
Loc was an amazing tour guide, very knowledgeable, very kind and he provided a lot of insightful information I wouldn’t have known in other other way about Shibuya. He is the best!
Great walk around shibuya, exploring streets and parks .meeting location easy spot to meet and drop off.
nikita odegard was exceptional - highly professional, extremely communicative, very knowledgeable and, in general, overall charming. both my partner and I have enjoyed the tour very much and feel we understand Tokyo a bit more (which is much!) and are very thankful for the high standard of this tour.
Most difficult part was finding the meeting point. The tour was informative and interesting. Gray, our guide, did a great job.
We loved this tour! It was a great way to see Shibuya and find out some rules and traditions of the Japanese people. Nikki, our tour guide was so lovely and friendly and made the walking tour fun and enjoyable. I would highly recommend it early in your trip as it is well worth the money.
Loc our tour guide was just excellent! He was very knowledgeable & courteous! He spoke very good English & was very easy to listen to. He was a very nice young man!!
We had a great tour with Loc as our guide - felt more like a friend taking us around showing us his home than a regular tour. We learnt lots and saw parts we wouldn’t have found on our own.
Wonderful tour with an excellent guide. Gray was charismatic and informed, answering all the questions we had and managing the time very well. Highly recommend!
Shibuyu trip was great for orienting yourself in the area, understanding the sheer volume of people that travel through and learning something about the history and how people live here. Really appreciated the knowledge and enthusiasm of my guide Nicky. It is now a place where people live for me. Not just a big intersection.
This was an interesting tour which gave a good introduction to the area and some of its history and quirks. Gray was a knowledgeable and interesting tour leader who kept the group moving at a good pace and found places to share information that were in the shade and at times where people could sit to listen. The description of where to meet the group is not very clear as it is actually upstairs which Google Maps does not handle well, perhaps the company could add some more info on the location as some other operators do
Rio was nice, informative and easy to talk to. I enjoyed the tour very much and had ample opportunities to ask questions about the surrounding buildings, the clubs, and the restaurants in the area. - Chris Rio, feel free to text me if you want me to say tell my friends about your tour! My number is +1 510 388-6727. - Chris

The tour guide was very helpful and told me so much information. I highly recommend this tour to anyone
Paulina put together a great tour that highlights things that really go unseen in Shibuya. This goes well beyond the famous scramble crossing. I recommend this.
You found the meeting place easily. Our tour guide Gray was friendly and knowledgeable about the surrounding area. It was an enjoyable afternoon of learning.
Nikki was a fantastic guide- she kept the pace reasonable and allowed for breaks. This was especially important as we toured in the summer on a hot day. She was quite knowledgeable about Shibuya and shared some interesting "tidbits." Thank you!
Our tour guide Grey was very knowledgeable and informative and gave us some great insights into Japanese history and culture. We were very lucky to have Grey all to ourselves! Recommended!
It was a really amazing tour, we learned a lot about the City that we would have never known thanks to Nikki. She shared a lot of insight about the daily life of students in this district and shared many suggestions on where to eat or go to get the full Shibuya experience. She has incredible knowledge of the Japanese culture and together with her European roots, humor, and knowledge of Tokyo culture she is well versed to guide tourists through town. Arigato-gozai-mas Nikki!
Had a great walking tour despite the pouring rain, and it left me pondering big questions and smaller details that I never have noticed before. Our guide Niki was highly skillful and knowledgeable, was professional and had a rare ability in conveying. Highly recommended.
We thoroughly enjoyed the tour. Our guide Zach was so knowledgeable and could provide info for a range of participants (ie. young and old alike). Highly recommend the tour, and in particular the tour guide, Zach. As he knew the history of Japan and the area so well, and as we were in a small group he customised the tour.
This was a great walking tour. Gary was very good in explaining this area. We’ve been to Shibuya many times and still learned a lot. We should have done this a long time ago.
Well worth the time and experience The guide was very knowledgeable and friendly He knows the area well and explain clearly to us
Loc was amazing! We really enjoyed his Shibuya night time walking tour!
Lovely night tour with Loc! We saw the young night life of Shibuya and heard interesting stories.
Loc was a great guide! Enjoyed the tour and learned a lot of information. Saw the statue of the dog in 2 places! It was great to see Shibuya at night with all the lights and hustle bustle and be guided around so we could enjoy ourselves without any stress or worry. The tour was very entertaining thanks to Loc who took pictures of us and gave us recommendations of places to go. Thanks again for a great evening.
Loc was an excellent guide. He was very informative

Mr. Loc was outstanding guide very knowledgeable and professional I recommend him for future tours….
Zach did a great job! He projects well so we could all hear his commentary throughout. It was a smaller group so we walked for about 1.5 hours. Helpful to get your bearings of Shibuya and hear some of the stories behind certain streets and buildings.
Well worth joining a walking tour of Shibuya district, Tokyo. Nikki was a very interesting and informed guide and took us to so many streets and areas we would not have found. She also shared insights onto Japan, its people and culture.
Zac was a fantastic guide, he’s knowledge of shibuya is excellent, and he also was happy to answer all questions I had regarding culture, local tips on eating out etc Highly recommended Thanks again

Lok was a great tour guide. It was an interesting and engaging experience in Shibuya which added a lot of history to the area.
Nikki was my tour guide on my first evening in Tokyo. I learned local dives and culture I didn’t know through reading and the internet. She was engaging and shared examples of her first hand experiences from being a local in Tokyo. Because it was a rainy evening I had the luxury of being the only one joining Nikki’s Shibuya evening tour.
This was a great and informative tour. Zach was a great guide. Will recommend to friends and family!
It is interesting tour of experiencing the Shibuya crossing at peak traffic movement. Also the experience of Izakaya and knowing the history and culture about the Izakaya was enlightening. The Tour Guide RIO did a very good explanation. Overall a very good tour to experience
