Great experience! Had a fun time learning all about calligraphy and making our stamps. Everyone had a chance to make an art piece and take home with them while we waited for the stamps to be done. This is the second time we have came here and we plan to come again!
Owner is nice and helpful. But location is kind of hard to find and no signs on entrance door on the second floor). Location holds class during the day and a karaoke bar at night. So probably why it's dark and windowless class room. I want to like this class but it's not as enjoyable as I thought it would be. There's always room for improvement!
It was a lot of fun! I was expecting it to be focused solely on the stamp making, but I learned some kanji as well. Would definitely recommend if you want a relaxing break before hitting the Tokyo streets again.
A wonderful time! They were so kind and explained every step as we went through, and the stamps were so cute! Worth every second!
Fun, but not quite as expected. Thought we would get a guided lesson on calligraphy and how to make strokes, what different lines meant, etc, but it was a short one to one, which was nice, but not very informative. The stamp in created in advance so make sure you answer the email from the operator to get the picture you want. No bag was included, not sure if that's just old info but it didn't happen. The personalized name and video were cute though. Just felt pared down for the money and not as much of a lesson as expected.
Had a great time learning calligraphy with Kana!! She was great at explaining and encouraging our progress. The stamps came out amazing!! Very happy we choose this activity.
I loveeeeeed this experience! We laughed a lot and she was very patient with me! Not only did I get my customized Japanese stamp, but I also did calligraphy, received a T-shirt and tote with family crests on them. This is definitely a must when you go to Tokyo!!
I got a name stamp (Katakana Letters). In the meantime the stamp hast been produced I received a Kalligraphy lessin which I really enjoyed!
I received a very warm welcome even though I was a half hour early for my appointment. My stamp took around 20 mins. While I waited O was given some free calligraphy writing lessons. It was wonderful. The hostess is the sweetest and very attentive.
The personalization was incredible. We did calligraphy while we waited for our stamps and getting 1 on 1 help with calligraphy was very helpful. I found new meaning to my name and I was very happy at the end of the experience.
This experience was a bit odd. I thought we were going to learn about seal stamps but we had a self guided lesson on calligraphy instead. We had very little instruction. If they weren't all set up for us (with the stamp we had preselected), I'd have thought they didn't realize we were coming. The teacher was kind and friendly but her attention was mainly focused on the other class she was teaching at the same time.
The stamps are created ahead of time so there is no actual stamp creation but you get to practice kanji while you wait. The stamps turned out beautifully and the experience was very welcoming and fun!
We got to try some kanji writing and ended with our own personalised stamps and lots of other little treats! So welcoming and great experience!!
Really nice experience. You yourself don’t do the stamp, they do it. In the meantime, you get to practice Japanese calligraphy, it’s a really nice activity. Staff is really friendly and you get a little present. Totally recommend for a nice evening activity 👍🏻
The description of this activity is not accurate- we did not create our own stamp. We were given sheets of paper, pen and ink, and calligraphy design pamphlets to copy from while the artist took our names and created our name stamps. The end product was very nicely presented to us, and we enjoyed our attempts at calligraphy, but wish we’d known the actual process beforehand. I still recommend this activity, as my name stamp is a treasured souvenir.
we learned how to do calligraphy and got our stamps made with our names in katakana. it was super fun! we even got a few gifts in the end^^
The location was a fun little hole in the wall, the lady that guided us was very nice and we enjoyed the practice kanji and had plenty of time and materials. My son really likes the finished stamp too. Well worth the cost and effort.
My wife and I are very happy with our inkan stamps! Super friendly, and loved passing the time with calligraphy practice and a free drink!
Calm, fun, lovely way to spend an afternoon. Everything I expected! Beautiful product. Highly recommend.
This activity was pretty cool. You do so many things - calligraphy (including on a fan that is yours to take away), you get a stamp and lots of goodies. Highly recommend
It was a lot of fun to practice calligraphy while waiting for our stamps to be made. The stamps turned out amazing and would recommed!
This was a truly amazing experience. The host of this experience is so kind and I really enjoyed that I got to try and practice japanese calligraphy while my stamp was being created. This experience is more than worth the price and I would absolutely recommend it to anyone who visits Japan :) please don’t miss this gem of an opportunity!
It is a wonderful and unique experience. I would suggest it to everyone who wants to get a little closer to japanese culture. The people who organize it are just great.
This was a fun experience! We loved practicing calligraphy and learning about our names. The stamps turned out perfect!
This was so much fun! Practicing calligraphy and learning about our names in Kanji was really cool. Our stamps are perfect!
This experience was such a meaningful and creative highlight of our trip! From the moment we arrived, our guide was incredibly sweet and welcoming. She was attentive to every detail and truly passionate about helping us express ourselves through the art of kanji. We were guided step-by-step, yet given the freedom to personalize our seal stamps in a way that reflected our own style and meaning. It was a beautiful blend of tradition and self-expression. Before we knew it, our custom stamps were ready—along with thoughtful souvenirs and even videos that captured the whole process. Everything was so well-prepared and professionally done, making it easy to cherish the memory forever. If you're looking for a hands-on, culturally rich experience with a personal touch, this is absolutely worth it!
Great experience! We got to practice calligraphy while we waited for our stamps to be made. We left with a personalized stamp, ink pad, key chain, post card, and little paper weight. Highly recommend! The cafe was a bit hard to find but worth it.
It was so fun and the people where the nicest. I had a great time and got much more than expected. Totally recommend. 👍👍👍
Easy find from train station. Very friendly and we love our stamps. Pleasant experience and we enjoyed practising some calligraphy.
Fun and relaxing workshop with calligraphy. The host was somewhat busy but i found it to be nice as a free and self-guided workshop, but definitely would recommend you have some prior calligraphy experience. Lots of unique souvenirs, but you don’t exactly carve your own stamp out.
Very nice and cheerful hostess learned a few kanji caligraphy while waiting ond the hanzo stamp. It was a noc and fun experience with a few postcards and stamp as e memory of my travel to Japan
She is super sweet. This class isn’t making a physical stamp! She makes it for you and you get some goodies with it. she also posts your name and what it means. She teaches you how to stamp as well.
It was ok. Didn’t really make the stamp, they made for us. I appreciate that they were willing to change or customize stamp. Overall good time.
Kana was an amazing host. She didn't mind that I was 10 minutes late because of a train delay. She welcomed me in and proceeded with the appointment. She worked on my stamp while I practiced calligraphy. She helped me with writing on my postcard and even let me try again when I made mistake on my kanji. She was very nice and served tea that tasted delicious on a hot day of walking. She let me make a postcard for my girlfriend too. I would recommend this to anyone who likes calligraphy and wants to get their own katakana stamp. カナさん、ありがとう! Thankyou! Austin オースティン
It was a little hard to find but so much fun! It was worth it and so much more! Our lady was so fun and nice and our stamps turned out great!
Very friendly and relaxing. Practicing kanji was a lot of fun. This was fun as a solo traveler but this would be even better as a group activity
Definitely worth it, a super cool customised souvenir to take home. Had a great time practicing some calligraphy while the stamps were being finished. Was able to make some postcards as well.
We had a wonderful time with Kana. She took our names, put them in katakana and then started working on our stamps. While waiting, we could practice Japanese calligraphy which was a lot of fun. Kana is a wonderful host and made us feel very welcome. Would recommend to anyone who wants a custom souvenir and lear a little of the local culture!
Perfect quick experience if you're in Tokyo. Got to practice shodo (Japanese calligraphy), make some postcards and of course come away with a custom stamp. Staff were super nice. Highly recommended.
Mari & Kana is amazingly passion and welcoming!! The stamp is fascinating! Love the whole experience ❣️ Karaoke is really bonus!!
A wonderful experience! Kana-San was an amazing instructor and so friendly! Learning calligraphy for the first time and having a stamp made was so fun, I highly recommend!
My friend booked us and it was really fun for a nice day time activity the women was also very kind and patient.
I had so much fun at this class! I strongly recommend it. The teacher was so nice and helpful. Wonderful time! We got to practice calligraphy and make postcards and then use our stamp!
I made a reservation for seals because I met six friends from the U.S. In advance, you can choose a name and one design from four types, and they will create a preview video. The video really got everyone excited! While waiting, we folded origami cranes. The host was very kind, and my friends were absolutely delighted. I highly recommend this experience 200%!
Fun time practicing calligraphy while my hanko was being made. Also received the video explaining the meaning of my name which was also a nice memento.
It was a good experience at the end of our trip. Took about an hour, during which we were invited to try out calligraphy and at the end we had a nice souvenir to take home.
This was a cute experience if you’re in that part of town and have a little extra time, I would recommend it. I was able to pick out the design of the stamp and was given a detailed explanation of what the characters of my name meant. While the stamp was being made, I got to practice writing my name, as well as some other characters. It was fun to try.
This was such an amazing experience. I learned what my name meant, how to write it in kanji, and I was even able to try writing it. The best part is I'm leaving Japan with a stamp memorializing my whole experience.
