Mao was an excellent tour guide! She was flexible, accommodating, and genuinely interested in tailoring the experience to my interests rather than simply following a fixed itinerary. I appreciated having the freedom to choose where I wanted to go and explore the places that interested me most. Be prepared for plenty of walking and train travel (unless you prefer taxis or Uber), but I found that to be part of the fun and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Unfortunately, due to the holiday, some temples and the Imperial Palace were closed, but we still managed to see most of the major sights, along with a few additional places Mao recommended. Overall, it was a fantastic experience. I highly recommend Mao and look forward to returning to Japan and booking another tour with her!

As first-time visitors to Japan, having Mayu as our private tour guide in Tokyo made all the difference. She gave us such a wonderful, memorable day and was so warm and thoughtful throughout our time together. We had an absolute blast exploring the city with her! Mayu is incredibly knowledgeable, friendly, and generous with her advice—she even made sure we felt confident and supported as we set off for the rest of our journey to Hiroshima, Kyoto, and Osaka. If you're looking for an exceptional, personalized tour of Tokyo, Mayu is a solid 5-star guide. Thank you again, Mayu, for such an awesome experience! 😊
This was exactly what I had asked for. I spent my time outside exploring. The grounds of the imperial palace, a unique temple, walking the different streets and learning how to navigate the subway. Mayu, was a wonderful guide, going out of her way to help me find the exact gifts I wanted and taking me to the Tokyo train station to prepare my next leg of my journey.
We had a Great day and lovely time around Tokyo!
Ryu was a great guide. He gave wonderful insights into the history and local culture during the tour. He curated the tour to our requests. He made our trip to Tokyo rememberable.
Very enjoyable tour with Mayu. She contacted me before the tour and arranged the itinerary I wanted. She also helped me to pick up some shopping.I highly recommend her.
We hired our marvellous guide on our day one in Japan. Jet-lagged we needed to negotiate Shinjuku station booking Bullet train tickets for further travel. It’s vast. Our guide was so helpful and we sorted everything for the rest of our travels. Once sorted we had a most interesting tour of some of Tokyo’s highlights. A day personal guide for a two or three hours is very helpful indeed.
Ryo is a very nice guide. He showed us many important sights, shared local insights and interesting stories. We explored Tokyo with enriched experience. Thank you!
Mayu, my guide, was very professional and very knowledgeable. She planned ahead with my customized request in mind to ensure that we visited all the sites I wanted to see. She was very personable and genuinely cared about me seeing everything I requested in Tokyo. Exceptionally patient with a very pleasant attitude Excellent tour guide!!
Shuta was an excellent accommodating guide. He asked what we were interested in and honored every request including visiting the Sensoju Temple; visiting the Kimekango observation deck; experiencing the Shibuya crossing. He even helped us find facial masks and Hello Kitty gifts. He was a delight! Later he texted us recommendations for dinner and karaoke. I highly recommend this tour.
I was on a business trip with only a short visit in Tokyo. A personal guide was late the solution. I expressed a need to see som traditional old par of Tokyo. My guide did just that.
Excellent! Excellent! Mayu was a wonderful professional. She reached out early to ask what/where we wanted to go, made suggestions and then mapped out itinerary most efficiently. She showed us how to navigate the various trains, provided tips and even picked a great lunch stop along the way. So friendly we had a very lovely day and 6 hrs was perfect amount of time to see & do all we wanted & have lunch!
I had made a request for customized stops with our party of 3. Maya our tour guide had reached out to me a day prior to our scheduled tour to confirm my request. Maya was prompt and arrived @ 10 minutes prior to our meeting time at our hotel to meet our group. She was very patient and accommodating to our group as we had a friend who had a mobility issue and used a cane. When we used public transportation (the train system) she tried to direct us to an elevator or escalator and we used the staircase if none of the above was available She gave us a clear outline of the order of sights we requested for our time together. She also assisted us when we needed to order items in Japanese and we found her very helpful. We found her to be very sweet and friendly. We had requested a 4 hour tour, but she took extra time to make sure we reached our last requested destination. We really appreciated her willingness to help us so we wouldn't get lost. She even advised us to go to a Disney store in Shibuyu as an alternative to our original plan to go to the outside Disney store of Tokyo Disneyland which would have taken an hour to travel to. We were very pleased by her suggestion and we're appreciative of her assistance.
Had a great tour. Somehow I was surprised it was just the 2 of us but that made it all the better. Ryo got me at my hotel and took me to a few places I hadn't been. Going from train to train would have been my nightmare but he made it quick and simple. We stopped and got some nice ramen. He was knowledgeable and easy to talk too. Glad I done it or I may not have seen the temples and shrines before moving on
We landed in Tokyo as first-time visitors and were out with Mao only hours later, jet-lagged and a little unsure of ourselves. She turned what could have been an overwhelming first day into one of the best days of our trip. We gave her only general guidance — history and culture, no specifics — and she put the whole day together on the fly. At Sensō-ji in Asakusa she gave us the story behind the Kaminarimon gate and the Kinryū-zan name written on the back of the great lantern, so a famous photo stop became something we actually understood. She never rushed us through the Nakamise-dōri market stalls. Lunch was at a good restaurant well away from the tourist haunts, and her help with the menu was indispensable. Ordering became part of the fun instead of something to get through.
Very fun gave us great information and also took us to get my kit kats
If you are looking to tour Tokyo I HIGHLY recommend this tour! My guide, Mayu was absolutely amazing. I booked my tour last minute and she reached out immediately to see what I wanted to see and what my interests were. She made the perfect itinerary, picked me up at my hotel, showed me around Tokyo, took me to a yummy noodle shop and at the end brought me back to my tour. I can’t say enough wonderful things about Mayu and the tour!
The absolute best tour ever! Mayu is the best guide. She took us to all of the sites we requested and booked a great lunch for us. We highly recommend this tour!
Mayo was on time, great personality ve4y interactive and answered any questions we had. A great way to navigate Tokyo!!! Use a guide, she did great with our teens, got us to a great pancake shop we would have never found. A great experience, Mayo was awesome!!!!
Mayu was great. Attitude was very helpful and she was knowledgeable of the areas we were interested in. I highly recommend!
Mao was a fantastic guide! She customized the day for me, she was flexible in making changes as we went, highly recommend for a truly personal experience.
Fabulous experience in Tokyo! This was a truly fully customizable Tour, catered just for me. I felt like a queen for the day! Mao was very flexible on the go & we were able to add to the tour as we went along. She speaks perfect English & is super knowledgeable about local customs & trains, etc. I wanted a shrines & temples tour, I was able to collect Goshuin stamps at each place, it was so much fun! Especially the Lucky Cat Temple! We even made time to stop at a Pokemon center and collect the stamp there. It was just a really great day and I highly recommend booking this tour. I would definitely book again. We used a combination of Train and Uber at my request. Thank you so much for a truly special day.
We had a very nice tour together with Ryu. He showed us the city and most important highlights. Very recommended!
Coming back from a long vacation in Vietnam we had an 11 hour layover in Narita and searched for a way to best take advantage of the extra time. We had never been to Japan and wanted to see Tokyo but were not sure how to make it happen? That is when we found the PRIVATE TOUR option! We signed up and Mayu and Ryu were SO HELPFUL! They helped us design a trip that was customized to our needs. Mayu was an incredible guide. So friendly and knowledgeable. She made it easy for us to navigate Tokyo taking us to several tourist spots. Mayu was attentive and noticed my wife liked matcha and took us to a spot to try some. Lunch was based on our feedback (we wanted sushi) and we went to a great spot near our final stop. I can’t recommend this tour enough!
An excellent way to start a Tokyo visit. went at a nice easy pace for our middle school aged kids. Ryo was accommodating and very helpful.
Leo was a great guide, he gave explanations of each site we visited. He is very knowledgeable & patient. We had a great day
You have PAY for your own transportation. This was a complete surprise to us, as it is not mentioned during booking. We have 2 handicapped persons traveling with us and there was absolutely NO accommodations for them. Which required us to push wheelchairs around the entire tour. This was a heavy workout for us as we aren’t accustomed to pushing wheelchairs.
Our private custom walking tour with local guide Ryo was an unforgettable experience. We did many of the sights in our 6 hrs. visiting districts like Asakusa, Harajuku, Shibuya, etc. We also stopped at some local spots we probably wouldn’t have discovered if it weren’t for Ryo. The strawberry highball and tuna nigiri were highlights. Super grateful spending the day with him and hope to visit again someday.
Ryo is a great guide. He did the best to make the tour a great experience to me. He is patient and made the adjustments needed.
Where do I begin? This was a tremendous experience for me and my girlfriend. Sumire is a tremendous guide that anyone would love to have. From the moment we met her, we were greeted with a smile and warmth. She accommodated any of our needs and made us feel as if we already had a lifelong friendship and bond. She shared her personal life experiences with us while also educating us about Japanese culture and norms. Here’s to a new lifelong friendship. Please continue the great work. Again, this is probably the best experience we’ve had in Tokyo.
We had a fantastic time exploring Tokyo with Ryu. Our guide was knowledgeable, engaging, and shared great insights into the city’s history, culture, and daily life. The tour was well paced, covered many highlights, and included local tips that made the experience even more enjoyable. A great way to see Tokyo and highly recommended! Ryu is amazing tour guide!
The best guide I ever had! Very relaxed, friendly, open to join in on anything, just a great guy to hang out with, easy to talk to! You should definitely book him if you want a local person to guide you through what Tokyo has to offer.
We had a great experience with Ryo who was very pleasant to interact with. Ryo was able to take us different places with ease and cover so many highlights . We loved that it was easily accommodating to our needs. Thank you for the great time memorable times.
Ryo was friendly, flexible and knew Tokyo well. We were able to visit multiple sites and parts of town and enjoyed the tour.
We had a great time with Ryo. We didn’t have anything particular planned and he took us to many great spots. Very helpful and answered all our questions. This tour was our first full day in Tokyo and it was so helpful with Ryo showing us the train stations. Highly recommend.
Great information about the history & culture on tour! We wanted to focus on temples & gardens. Ryo added additional sites along the way. He also sent us numerous links to sites for our remaining days based on our interests. We had a really fun day exploring Tokyo with Ryo! Strongly recommend spending a day with him!
We had a customized full day tour of Tokyo. We wanted to hit some specific sites in depth and get information /tips of other activities to do on our own for our remaining days here. Ryo was warm, kind, and Insightful regarding history and current culture. He loaded us up with links to the other items we planned to do on our own and made recommendations based on our interests. We thoroughly enjoyed our day with him.
Our Guide for the Zojo-Ji Temple, Imperial Palace, Sensi-Ji Temple & Hamarikyu Gardens Ryo was excellent and well-organised, having contacted us beforehand to ask what sites we would like to visit and tailored the day accordingly. Ryo was knowledgeable and considerate, giving us mobility options for bus, cab, or Metro and took time to find appropriate seating options. Ryo’s English was very good, and he was very informed about the sites. I would definitely recommend him again with a 10 out of 10.
I had an amazing experience with Ryo! He did very well with personalizing my tour. I wanted to do several different places and he took me to all of them. He was also super friendly and felt personable. Thank you for a great time!
Ryo was an exceptional guide—warm, welcoming, and fluent in English. He showed us around downtown Tokyo and made the experience both educational and enjoyable. We learned so much and felt completely at ease the entire time. Highly recommended!
Our tour guide developed a tour suited to the places that we wanted to visit. He accommodated all our wishes. Knowledgeable and extremely personable.
My friends and I had such a wonderful time on this tour. Ryo was knowledgeable and explained everything clearly and enthusiastically. It was both fun and informative, and we would absolutely do it again on our next visit to Tokyo.
Ryu provided a great day tour in Tokyo. . He was professional n personable with excellent English
I’ve had the pleasure of hiring several private guides while traveling solo, and I can confidently say that Ryo was one of the very best. From the start, he was incredibly flexible and accommodating, allowing me to tailor the itinerary to exactly what I wanted. I was hoping to mix a bit of shopping with visits to some of Tokyo’s iconic spots (and of course, capture a few great photos along the way), and he went above and beyond to make sure every detail was covered seamlessly. What truly set Ryo apart was how effortless and enjoyable the entire day felt. This wasn’t your typical tour experience—it felt more like spending the day exploring the city with a knowledgeable friend who just happens to know all the best spots. He was easygoing, attentive, and completely in tune with what I was looking for. If you’re looking for a guide who is flexible, thoughtful, and genuinely invested in creating a personalized experience, I highly recommend Ryo. He made my time in Tokyo not only smooth and stress-free, but truly memorable.
Ryo was an excellent host and very accommodating to our needs. Due to a flight cancellation we had to do a last minute visit with him so he was flexible about the plan, improvised a creative one for us which we enjoyed immensely. He is informed about the city, can point out and give background on buildings and areas and knows his way around the complicated subway! He is considerate and a warm person. Very likable. We recommend him completely.
The explanations were interesting, easy to understand, and full of new insights. Ryo helped us discover aspects of Japanese culture we would never have noticed on our own. A truly enriching experience!
Ryo was a fantastic guide who made our time in Tokyo even more special. Learning about Japan’s history and culture through his stories added so much depth to our visit. This tour transformed our trip into something unforgettable.
