However the main Tsukiji Market was replaced in 2018 by the Toyosu Market, the outer market at Tsukiji remains. There are still various restaurants and shops containing numerous interesting items. (Some shops and restaurants are closed on Sundays,Wednesdays, and national holidays)
The garden has served many purposes over the centuries. It was originally built as a feudal lord's Tokyo residence and duck hunting grounds between the 17th and 19th centuries. And then it became a garden and an imperial detached palace before eventually being opened to the public in its current form. It is located close to Tsukiji outer market. You can enjoy seasonal flowers and green spaces with seawater ponds.
Ginza has eclectic boutiques and galleries, the shops selling Japanese traditional crafts, and incredible selection of restaurants and cutting edge architecture.
The Imperial Palace used to be the Castle of Tokugawa shogun family from 1603 to 1868. It became The Imperial Palace when the political power returned to the Emperor Meiji. The Imperial Palace grounds have many of the perfectly manicured pine trees and lawns which can be enjoyed from a car. You can also take a short stroll to see the palace walls and bridges.
The National Diet (Parliament) building is one of only a few buildings in Tokyo that survived the air raids of 1945. The building was built in 1936.
You can enjoy gaming and anime culture in Akihabara. There are also hundreds of electronics shops, ranging from tiny stalls specializing in a particular electronic component to large electronics retailers.
Senso-ji Temple is the oldest temple in Tokyo. The name Asakusa appeared for the first time in the history of Japan in 628, when a small statue of the Kannon was caught by two fishermen in Asakusa. The people in the village built a small temple for the statue not knowing anything about its origin. The statue has been kept hidden in a sealed wooden box since 645, when a Buddhist monk who had been invited from Nara to see the statue suggested doing so. The box was opened once in 1868 by officers sent by the government to execute orders regarding the separation of Shinto and Buddhism. The temple received constant support from powerful samurai and it became a family temple of the Tokugawa shogun in the early 17th century. Most of the temple buildings were lost during the Second World War. The main building was reconstructed in 1958, and the five-story pagoda in 1973.
There are various buildings designed by the world’s leading architechts in Omotesando. You can also find every famous brand neme in fashion.
Harajuku will give you some insight into the youth culture of Japan. You will see unique fashion trends and outrageous design in fashion and buildings.
Meiji shrine has a pleasant atmosphere and nice break from the busy streets. You might be able to see a traditional Japanese wedding ceremony on Saturdays and Sundays.
Shibuya crossing is the busiest intersection in the world. It makes Times Square seem like a sleepy village.
Daikanyama and Nakameguro are filled with numerous boutiques and cafes. They have a different atmosphere and less hectic pace than more famous places in the city.

Kana was an excellent driver and guide. She took us all over Tokyo from Fish Market to Tokyo tower,, specialty sports store and fluffy pancakes. She is the best
Excellent, efficient. Representative was friendly and right on time. Peter, our driver, was excellent, giving us suggestions on sites to see and pointing out landmarks along the journey. He had a wonderful assortment of snacks for us. We mistakenly thought he would have our Shinkansen tickets upon meeting us, however, when we got to our hotel, he made sure to come in and confirm that our passes were there. Thank you so much, Peter for a wonderful experience. It was first class !
Richie was an excellent guide, very responsive and accommodating. He was very polite and informative. Although it was a rainy day, he made it enjoyable. Would highly recommend scheduling a trip with him. Thanks Richie.
My driver and guide was Zu , not only was she a great driver but so knowledgeable of her city and all the places of interest for me to visit , It was my first day of sightseeing on a business trip so was solo and Zu made my day so much more enjoyable, we did 11k steps seeing all the best sights in Tokyo but it was a totally awesome day , thank you Zu , you were the best .
Miku has been excellent in explaining each visit, she was very accommodating and has chosen very well especially for the typical sushi restaurant. We felt the warmth welcome as soon as she greeted us in the hotel and that of course was very good start. The van was very clean! We love the trip to the local market, first time to taste a long flat squid shrimp, see a square beef burger. Indeed new experiences. We visited several temples and shrines and learned more on the japanese culture. thank you and Kudos!!
Miku was fantastic! She was on time, respectful, energetic, and customized our tour on the fly to fit the needs of our family. I would recommend Outech and Miku specifically to anyone looking to make explore Japan effortless. She maximized our time/schedule and was absolutely worth the cost.
We had the best experience, our guide Junior and our driver Hitoshi were unbelievably fun, polite, helpful and kind. They really made our day, I would recommend this to everyone!
Great experience and super friendly! Highly recommend!
Our driver, Hsiang, was marvelous in every aspect of his performance. He is remarkably professional and engaging in his service. We could not have been more pleased!!
The tour was arranged for a customer from US they visited Japan for the first time. Our tour guide and driver Ms Miku was professional and helpful. The customer enjoyed a lot and appreciated for the arrangement.
It was a great way to see the city. Our guide had answers to every question we asked, and we saw many more sites than would have been possible in such a short time on our own. Babu was an excellent driver as well, which had us feeling safe the whole time.
Our tour was in Tokyo with OUTECH. Our tour guide , Ms. Miyako Hirano was outstanding. We had so many good experiences in a very short time and she was a brilliant tour director, a lovely person with inexhaustible energy and offered us a memorable experience. Please ask for her in the future if you ever want something outstanding 09047011290.
Peter picked us up and made us very welcome. Very professional and friendly and knowledgeable of how to travel in Japan.
Zu was beyond amazing. Her knowledge, warmth, and passion for Tokyo made the entire day unforgettable for our family. She went above and beyond in every way. If we come back to Japan, we would only want Zu as our guide — she was truly exceptional.
This was our first trip to Japan. Hitoshi was a very thoughtful and considerate guide. He drove us to several sites based on our timing and needs. His explanation of cultural practices was thorough and helpful. Highly recommend!
Our tour guide Kana was very professional and enjoyable, she helped make our day fun whilst keeping to a busy schedule of sites.
Camilly is young, friendly and speaks excellent English! We didn’t have long with her but would definitely seek her service on our next trip
We needed something very bespoke and Outech delivered. Tomoya was a sensational guide. He made excellent suggestions so we could see the things we wanted to see and make the most of the limited time we had.
I arranged the private tour for our family, one member being a stubborn senior citizen. Our driver, Soya, picked us up and was able to bring a wheelchair for us to use. He lead us at each site, accompanying the our oldie-but-goodie in her wheelchair. We saw sites that we would not have seen without help. He arranged a lunch for us, a private room to fit the 8 of us and helped us with restricted diets. He was patient, very accommodating and all-around fun to talk to. And lastly, we were able to have pictures with all of us in it. Thank you Soya and Outech! My tours with Outech have been consistently exceptional!
Riley made our first trip to Japan an incredible and memorable experience. She has impeccable English speaking skills, is knowledgeable about the history of Japan and helped us to customize a phenomenal itinerary for Tokyo, Mount Fuji and Hakone on two full days that we visited the country. Riley was extremely flexible and accommodating, she was patient and answered all the questions that we had. We always felt safe as she drove around the busy busy, busy city of Tokyo and outline region. The van that we rode in had luxurious captain chairs that reclined and even had footstools for our sore feet after walking around. The price for this tour was very fair given all of the flexibilityand customizing we could do to our itinerary. We would never ever have been able to see so much in just two days and also nowhere to go as first timers to Japan. Riley made us feel very comfortable and we were sad to depart from her at the end of the days. we’ve been on other tours when that has not been the case and we were anxious to depart. Not this one we can’t wait to come back and we’ll work with outech and Riley again in the future.
The company that took us is called Outech and Riley was our guide. She was the sweetest kindest and most accommodating and flexible person we could have wished for. She was incredible at communicating in English and reached out immediately to plan a customized itinerary for the things that we wanted to see Around Tokyo. The van that we used was luxurious with captains chairs that reclined for comfort and a stool to put your feet up after walking around the city. I can’t speak highly enough about Riley. Riley did the tour for us on our first full day in Tokyo. We had such an amazing time that we booked her for our very last day to visit Mt Fuji and Hakone. Same 5 star experience. She supplied water, snacks, was incredibly flexible and patient and even made sure that she marked a map of Tokyo and region with all the places we had visited so that we could return should we want to. She wasn’t just very highly proficient at English. She also had a lot of knowledge about the history of Japan and taught us a lot about the different things that we saw and the Japanese culture. 5/5 stars!!
Our MESM Hotel Star Embassy Team organized this amazing daytrip with Outech and their Chauffeur/Guide "Roberto" Masaaki Ichimura. Roberto was able to expertly and safely navigate us to Hakone Owakundani Station for views of Mount Fuji, the Sulfur Springs and of course to eat kuro-tamago (black eggs). From there, Roberto placed us on the Hakone Ropeway down to Togendai Station. Next, he met us at Togendai to move us onto the Pirate Ship across Lake Ashi. From there, he took us to explore Odawara Castle Tower, Samurai and Ninja Halls. Onto a beautiful drive along the coast line to Kamakara. Once there, he took us into the Kotoku-in (Great Buddha) and the Hasedera Temple. And, he found a nice lunch in Kamakura. He returned us into Tokyo with time to walk and observe the Shibuya Crossing, visit the lit-up Tokyo Tower, drive through the Ginza District and more! Beyond driving, Roberto provided historical and modern background information. He even took photos of us at key places. We are grateful to our Chauffeur/Guide Roberto and the MESM Hotel Star Embassy Team who made the arrangements.
Very flexible but equally Tomoya came up with the right suggestions to fill our knowledge gaps. We had a great day out and we visited places that we would not have been able to visit without the wealth of knowledge. The limo is super comfortable and has aircon and water. Highly recommended!
Our driver is a very courteous and helpful man. Well driven and informative. Clean , tidy and respectful. Exactly what we needed after a long flight.
The drivers (Miku, Yu, and Tak) were so nice! It was lovely talking to them, and they really made the trip lovely and memorable! They knew English so well, and were super helpful!
Soya took us to all the spots in Tokyo that we wanted to see. He was very friendly and extremely helpful. It was an absolute pleasure to spend the day with him touring the city.
We had an incredible private tour in Tokyo with our guide Richie. He was an excellent communicator, tailoring the tour perfectly to our interests. Richie took us to hidden local spots for delicious, well-priced meals and gave us an authentic taste of Tokyo. Friendly, professional, and highly knowledgeable — we couldn’t have asked for a better guide. Highly recommended!
This tour was a perfect introduction to Tokyo. Leonardo was kind, knowledgeable, and accommodating. He introduced us to key highlights of the city while sharing its rich history with us. We were able to see and experience much more than we would have on our own and he was extremely helpful navigating some of the shopping experiences that were new to us. Highly recommended
The tour guide and company is very professional. The transportation is high quality and the English speaking guide/driver is friendly, knowledgeable and accommodating. He went above and beyond to make sure we had a great trip and it was exactly what we wanted.
Runs was an excellent driver. It was a pleasure to ride with her. She is very courteous and professional, but also very friendly.
I usually wait weeks after a trip to review. But I have to say that our experience on our Tour of Tokyo was amazing with Ryu (Pronounced R-U) . We were a family of 3 (with a 17 year old ) . He picked us up at our hotel , on a rare day when it was snowing. We were more than comfortable in a luxury van . He had snacks, water and umbrellas for all of us. While I noticed there were other private tours available on this sight , it was important for me that we had a guide who would walk and give us historical background on all the sights. He asked us for what was important to us and we changed up the tour to make sure we stayed warmer in the morning and during the afternoon when the sun came out we did more outdoor activities. He recommended a few lunch spots and choice was very good. He taught us a few phrases in Japanese . He even found out of the way "secret" locations for photo opportunities. He took his time keeping each of us engaged. He even gave us future tips for the rest of our stay while in Tokyo. I won't hesitate to recommend him.
Umi, our driver, she glides out of the car perfectly polished and with the most pleasant greeting. As she opens the door for you, she makes sure you don’t hit your head stepping into the car by covering her hand at the car frame. Mind you, this is in freezing cold temperatures and raining! All with a bright smile that I swear, sparkles. Her driving skills are clearly strong, and if asked, her suggestions are intuitively given. Frankly, I didn’t need any other help other than Umi. We’re off to other parts of Japan now and I wish our touring company hired her throughout our trip. I would indeed pay whatever the extra fee is to have her join us. My husband and I already miss having her as our driver. Thank you Umi!
Our guide, Richie, was very pleasant and informative about Japanese history and culture. He was also very flexible and accommodating, adding a stop at our request and willing to tailor the tour to our group's preferences. We appreciated his safe driving and his tips on where else to visit during our stay in Tokyo.
Moe-san was our driver for one week on a very hectic business trip. She managed to work into our schedule a visit to an amazing tea shop and paid so much attention to every detail. She overheard me mention that it was my wife’s birthday and even bought her a gift! Every detail of our agenda was carefully thought out and flawlessly executed. I would recommend her as a driver and guide without hesitation for business or leisure.
Roberto was an excellent guide. He was so pleasant and helpful and made sure we saw everything we wanted to see. He even gave us special tips of how to get around to see some things we didn’t have time to see. We loved the Tokyo Tower, the Senso-ji Shrine and the Imperial Palace Gardens. We were a group of 9. We all felt that Roberto really enhanced our experience.
Amazed with the whole program, the day tour was customized to our needs and pace, Riley was exception in every way and willing to answer all of our questions. Highly recommended!
Ido is very friendly. Very clean vehicle. Ido met us promptly and even had some water and snacks for us. We also enjoyed his conversation.
My wife and I booked this tour to see as much of Tokyo’s main attractions in a short time. We chose a private tour because we didn’t want to be led around in a large group of people. Our guide, Danish, was amazing! He took us around the city in a comfortable van and helped us choose the sites we should see based on our into. He took us around the sites and told us everything about them. The tour company was excellent to deal with and stayed in contact with us before the tour. I would recommend this tour to anyone who is looking for a private tour with knowledgeable staff. It is truly a five star experience!!
Excellent Tokyo Tour with Leonardo with OUTECH, Extremely friendly, and knowledgeable young man whom went above and beyond for a great Tour of Tokyo City. We seen so many Tokyo highlights, Fish Market, Buddhist Temples, Ginza District etc I highly recommend Leonardo for a memorable Tokyo City Tour!
Had a wonderful time with Leonardo. Saw all the sights and sounds of Tokyo with some really great insights and suggestions from our guide. 10/10
The driver Soya was a delight. He was on time got us where we needed to be and even provided snacks! His English is excellent almost accent free.
I had the pleasure of spending two days with Riley as my guide and driver in Tokyo, from Outech and she exceeded all expectations! Her punctuality was outstanding, a critical trait when time is limited. Riley’s deep knowledge of Japanese culture, history, and architecture made every stop incredibly enriching. What impressed me most was her expertise in finding parking spots, allowing us to cover an impressive number of sites without wasting time. She was diligent, customer-focused, and professional throughout. I highly recommend Riley to anyone who wants to see a lot in a short time and enjoy a smooth, worry-free experience. The company was very reliable, accommodated last minutes changes and was responsive almost immediately. The same company picked me from the airport and also give me transportation back and I also took the Tokyo Night Tour both excellent service. Thank you Outech.
Great to to choose the things you want to see, to get there with ease, to hear the background of the site, and to converse with a native on things past and present.
Ryu was an incredible host. He contacted us ahead of time to see what would be of interest to us. He brought water and snacks. Ryu was sensitive to the hot weather in Tokyo and adjusted the schedule accordingly. He knew we wanted to take a photo in front of the toy museum for our son so he made a special trip there. We were interested in technology in Tokyo so we had a tea at a cafe of robots. He's also an excellent driver and took several nice photographs. He's knowledgeable, polite and very pleasant. We would highly recommend this service!
During our few days in Tokyo before embarking on a cruise, we took a tour on our initial full day in the city. The tour provided an excellent overview of the city's highlights, and our guide, Udi, ensured it was a memorable experience. Udi was an exceptionally knowledgeable and informative guide who paid close attention to our needs. With another trip to Tokyo planned for next April, I would eagerly book another tour with this company, and I hope to have Udi as our guide once more.
Our guide Umi was an absolute joy! She was a wonderful host and guide for our full day tour. The car was stocked with waters and snacks for us. She accommodated our group and personalized to make sure everyone experienced what they hoped to on the tour. She made great suggestions for stops including one at a store where we made our own journals. I highly recommend the experience of a private tour and Umi as your knowledgeable guide!
She was amazing. Knew where the good spots were and how to get to them easily. The overall experience was amazing and we had no issues. She is also very kind.
The tour was fun and professional and Ryu was great and accommodating! He was also very helpful and super friendly!!
Tomo was a great guide and took us to all the highlights in the comfort of an AC vehicle. He was knowledgeable and answered all our questions. Would recommend as a way to see all the main tourist sites in Tokyo in one day without navigating the train system.
