We saw many wonderful places in Tokyo and really got a feel for the city. Our guide was excellent, patient, flecible and quite informative. Highly recommend this tour!

Itinerary
Meiji Jingu is a shrine which has the most worshippers in Japan and is one of the most popular sightseeing spots. Its vast temple is surrounded by greenery and is the city's oasis which is enjoyable for both locals and tourists. Enjoy the spiritual atmosphere.
Takeshita Street / Omotesando: Takeshita Street and Omotesando are both Japan's leading fashion streets. Takeshita Street, the epicenter of youth culture, is filled with people all year round, with colorful and pop-up shops lined up in tight rows, and Harajuku's cute culture overflowing. Omotesando will celebrate its 100th anniversary in 2020, and as one of Japan's leading fashion streets, various fashionistas come and go. Come and see for yourself the city and its people that continue to spread trends!
Tsukiji fish market used to prosper between 1935 to 1983 as the largest wholesale fish market in Japan. It closed down in 2018 and moved to Toyosu but the historical land of Tsukiji is still appreciated by the locals. There are still many shops in this old market which are busy with tourists looking forward to eating the delicious seafood.
Tokyo Tower was built in 1958 and is Tokyo's symbol. It has a strong presence amid the crowded buildings, even in a city as large as Tokyo. Although the newer tower, Skytree, is a taller building than Tokyo Tower, people are still attracted to Tokyo Tower's majestic appearance.
Sensoji is Tokyo's oldest temple with the large red lanterns that have become the symbol of Asakusa. The gorgeous red buildings are worth seeing and the temple is a famous sightseeing place where a majority of people visit when they come to Tokyo. On the way to the main temple at Nakamise street, you will find a variety of stores that sell souvenirs found only in Japan. The area is always crowded with people, no matter the season.

Akira was knowledgeable, friendly and helpful. He was willing to change the itinerary to suit our wishes. We had a great time with him!
Terrible Tour operator was not reliable we waited for half an hour & no one showed up as they did not know our dates
A perfect introduction to Tokyo on our first day. Yuki was knowledgeable, spoke excellent English and very easy to spend the day with. We learnt a lot about the history, the culture and how to get around.
The guide asks that you choose some points of interest and she delivered. Very kind, knowledgeable and friendly. She taught us how to use the subway.
Taku was a great guide and he even went out of his way to take us to the Pokemon stores for gifts for the grandkids. He tailored the tour for us as we only had the one day in Tokyo and was exceptionally knowledgeable Thank you so much
Hiro was a great guide: helpful and informative. Very interesting itinerary. We got our steps in!
Waka was an excellent guide who paid attention to all the details. She taught us about Japanese pop culture and the term “Cute” which we loved. She had super knowledge about the historical sites we visited and went the extra mile to customize our trip and meet all our needs. We can’t thank her enough for putting an explanation point on our amazing trip through Japan!! We even met the Tokyo Sushi/Tuna king or at least his statue! Highly recommend hiring her for her excellent English and Japanese translation alone! Thank you very much.
Tadashi was an amazing tour guide! He made my first trip to Japan memorable and gave us a lot of information that we wouldn’t have known without him. He was also really nice and had a lot of patience. 5 stars
Our tour was awesome and it was all thanks to our guide Tadashi! Tadashi was very knowledgeable, kind and enthusiastic. I would 1000% recommend taking this tour especially with a guide like Tadashi!!
TADASHI!!! Thank you so much for being a highlight of our Tokyo day tour. I appreciate everything that you showed us and the deep knowledge that you had. I hope you have a great rest of your day and year!!
Tadashi was INCREDIBLE! He was very informative and flexible when it came to wanting to take pictures. The best tour guide for your first time in Japan! He was also very kind and patient and wasn’t pushy or mean. We got to knock out a lot of things on our list because of him including his great recommendations at the Fish market. So happy we did this and it’s all thanks to him. 😊👍🏻
Tadashi was an amazing tour guide!!!!!! He was very knowledgeable and kind. We feel lucky that we had such a great person show us around Tokyo for our first trip here.
Had a wonderful day with Haru. She took the time to show us so many excellent places in Tokyo - we had a great time. Highly recommend taking this tour with Haru.
Usha our guide made this a great visit. She was well informed, has an excellent rapport, speaks clearly, energetic and articulate. Her personality made the time together enjoyable and she catered to our pace and was very flexible with how much and what we wanted to cover. Usha made this a fun day.
Eriko is an excellent tour guide, she is one of a kind and the tour with fer was fantastic and far byond our expectations.
The tour was very good today, our tour guide Jun54 was very knowledgeable on where to go and what was the best way to go about our day based on what we needed.
Cage was so wonderful. He took us all around the city and was such a pleasure to have as a guide. He was full of knowledge and took us to all the best spots. We loved this tour.
What a wonderful tour, led by Yutaka. He was so knowledgeable and full of interesting facts about the places we visited. One of our party is vegetarian and didn’t want to visit the fish market, so without any problem, Yutaka amended the itinerary and we went to the Imperial Palace instead, which was amazing. This has been the highlight of our trip so far.
Ayaka was fantastic. She went beyond and above and took us to places that I wanted to go to that were not on the itinerary. She was very informative and a pleasure to spend all day with.
Absolutely wonderful tour of Tokyo. Junko is extremely knowledgeable and incredibly friendly. Very pleased with how much we were able to experience.
**We came to Tokyo as visitors and left feeling like family\. ❤️** Yumi was an absolute treasure! She treated us like her own family, making our day together feel so warm and personal. Her knowledge of Tokyo brought everything to life as she showed us both the beauty of old Tokyo and the excitement of the modern city. One of the sweetest parts was hearing her share her love of poetry and introduce us to Japanese short poems. Those little moments made our time with her especially meaningful. Dear Yumi, thank you for sharing your stories about love and family, your city, your knowledge, and your beautiful heart with us. It truly is a “small world after all”… From: Amila, Todd & Selva
We spent an amazing day discovering Tokyo with our wonderful guide, Akkey! Akkey was knowledgeable and very informative about the sites we visited, Japanese history, and Japanese culture. We even learned how to use the Japanese subway! If you’re thinking about booking an overview tour of Tokyo, I highly recommend Akkey to guide you for the day - she’s the best!
We had a great day. Alley was interesting and well versed in explaining Japanese History and Culture
Our Otomo tour guide gave us a fantastic tour of many iconic Tokyo sites. The guide was kind, knowledgeable and a pleasure to be with for the day.
Ken did a great job-would highly recommend his tour. Great job Ken-keep it up. Very informative !!!!
We had an amazing day with Taka! He showed us all of the major highlights of Tokyo and then some. It was the perfect way for us to start our trip and get the lay of the hand. Also helped us learn the train system a little better and made us confident enough to utilize it our whole trip. Highly recommend this tour!
We had the most amazing experience with Taka on this excursion. He was early to meet us and right from the start friendly and full of knowledge of the places we were going. It was a really busy day but Taka gave us plenty of time at every stop to take pictures and ask questions. We honestly couldn’t have asked for a better guide. This tour is a great way to see the highlights of Tokyo and we absolutely recommend it!!! Thanks again to Taka for making our day exactly what we wanted!
Our guide Junko did a wonderful job. She explained about the differences between the temples and shrines and the sacredness of each. Junko was very knowledgeable about all of the particulars involved with the local history. We truly enjoyed the day with her and how she assisted in customizing our tour for our needs.
We had the best time with Usha!! She was so knowledgeable and patient in answering ALL our questions. She customized our whole tour based on our interest and knew all the local spots.
Keiji was an excellent guide. He went above and beyond the scope of his role as a guide. For example, my husband and I would have had much trouble using the metro system, but Keiji explained every aspect and gave us practice using the system. Keiji was knowledgeable, as well as very kind and welcoming. His hospitality was a beautiful thing to experience. We are very grateful for the day that we had all because of his knowledge and enthusiasm.
Keiji was the absolute perfect guide for my wife and me. His explanations were so thorough and he went out of his way to make us so comfortable. His knowledge of the history of the shrines and temples was beyond interesting. He customized our day so we got to see more than we had hoped. We had a wonderful time.
It was a great day!! Learned so much about the shrines and temples. Usha was so nice and friendly!! She is so knowledgeable and patient in answering ALL our questions. We walked around for 7 hours, but felt like 2, even with jetlag! She personalized all our stops and was very aware of how tired we were. I would definitely recommend this tour!
We had a wonderful visit with Mark's plan for us! We saw parts of Japan we never would have seen without his help. We loved our visit to the Mejei Shrine, Takeshita Street, Shibuya/crossing, the Fish Market....and we ended a lovely day at Gyoen National Garden. Mark was very knowledgeable and patient with us; he helped us with pictures, and also saw us struggling with chopsticks and ran and got us some forks, lol! :-) He is energetic and knew exactly where to bring us and the best spots to see! He also helped us navigate the trains, something we had not been able to figure out, lol. We highly recommend Mark and Viator for this wonderful tour!
Excellent tour. It was personalized and deeply informative. Our guide Osamu was fantastic! I definitely recommend.
Osamu was very knowledgeable and very helpful
Noah was a very good guide, knowledgeable, funny and followed everything we wanted to see, showed us the main sites but also took us to see other interesting things, explaining so much about the culture.
If you want to go from place to place at a cracking pace with no time to appreciate the spots, barely any time to take photos and definitely no time to buy a souvenir then this is the tour for you. Our guide was somewhat knowledgeable about the temples but offered little additional information about the other places. He was fairly lacklustre and not all that engaging. Perhaps there are better tour guides?
It's honestly incredible. Akira was so kind and arrived at our meeting place early. We took public transit, he took me to different restaurants and they were all really amazing. Akira also took me to a gallery, the Tokyo Sky Tree and temples and explained everything to me as we went along. Akira was extremely courteous, kind and patient. The only thing I need to mention is that the traveler is responsible for their tour guide's cost as well as their own.
We really enjoyed our time with Joji. He was very flexible with our itinerary, shared lots of interesting information and ensured we made the most of our time together.
Didn’t enjoy our tour at all. Our guide had very heavy accent , we couldn’t hear or understand him well.. and he wasn’t too informative or energetic. Wouldn’t recommend.
What a great way to get to see all the highlight of Tokyo with Osamu who did a wonderful job! Thanks.
Had a great day out today seeing the sights in Tokyo with Naoko, our lovely guide. Not only did she show us all the sights, she also took us to where the best street food stalls in the fish market. She even manged to add a last minute request to the trip! Would definitely recommend her to anyone interested in this tour 10/10
This tour was a rip off. It stated 7 to 9 hours.. we were with the guide for about 5 hours. We did lots of walking and taking the train back and forth to see 3 free sites. We had to pay for our own train tickets and lunch which was part of this itinerary. We skipped the lunch stop and street shopping areas. The Guide spoke English but was not too knowledgeable about two of the sites. Only good thing was our guide took us to a shop to find tea pots which we saw in Osaka but couldn’t find them reasonably priced in Tokyo. Would not recommend this tour as you can look up the sites yourself and take the train to them!
Excellent guide named Kentaro, we called him Ken. He spoke very good English and was mindful of how hot it was and our age. The stop for lunch was ideal and we enjoyed the meal. Using the underground trains was a great way of getting around with his knowledge of Tokyo.
Thank you so much for everything today! Hiro, you made the day so enjoyable and were a great tour guide 😊 You answered all of our questions and took us to a great bbq restaurant for lunch.
Very good Tokyo overview with our guide Haruki
As we were first time visitors, this was a great way to see some of the key sights and get to know the train system and how to get around. Our guide Yamada gave great insight into the culture and customs of Japan and the people. The Tsukiji Food Market was a highlight as we tried food that we would never had considered eating - what an experience. Highly recommend, but ensure you wear comfortable shoes as you will do plenty of walking
We had a wonderful experience touring Tokyo with Take and highly recommend him! From the very beginning, he was incredibly thoughtful and detailed in planning our day. Given our time constraints, he provided three different itinerary options and was very flexible in customizing the tour to fit what we wanted to see, including arranging the day so we could end in Omotesando. What really stood out were all the small, thoughtful touches. Take brought coins for us to use for the offering at Meiji Shrine and even had refreshing mint wipes to help us stay cool in the Tokyo summer heat. He also took the time to introduce us to Tokyo’s subway system and explain how to navigate it, which gave us the confidence to use public transportation on our own for the rest of our trip. Take was knowledgeable, organized, accommodating, and genuinely thoughtful throughout our tour. It was a great introduction to Tokyo, and we would highly recommend him to anyone visiting the city!
We had such a lovely day with our guide Hiroyuki Mise. He came well prepared with a great energy and was incredibly engaging in the way he spoke and the activities he had prepared for us, such as praying at Meiji shrine, writing wishes, recommending photo spots and the small quizzes he had prepared. The tour gave us a great overview of all the things Tokyo had to offer and the Hiro adjusted the times and sight to our wishes, which gave everything a nice flow and time just passed effortlessly despite all the new information and all the many steps. Furthermore Hiro was incredibly open, pleasant to talk to, spoke fluently and gave great recommendations for places to see and food to eat. As for the spots: Meiji was breathtakingly beautiful, Takeshita was awesome in so many different and fun ways, Tsukiji was mouthwateringly delicious, Tokyo tower was an incredible sight and Senso-ji was a flourish of energy mixed with the sanctity of a beautiful shrine.
