Tacha was very informative and we appreciate what he shared with us regarding the tour. If I had to do it again, I definitely would request him to provide the Tour.

We had an unbelievable couple of days with our guide. He took us to restaurants that we would not have found otherwise. We went to the markets and he helped us navigate stalls. Having him to help navigate the subway system is very helpful. He immediately clicked with our group of friends. He has extensive knowledge on Tokyo, which was great when we were going around some of the shrines he was able to explain a lot of of the history and the beliefs, which was fascinating. I would strongly recommend him to anybody visiting Tokyo.
Our guide Taka met us as arranged at our hotel. He was a great guide, enthusiastic about his city, knowledgeable & informative & extremely helpful with a number of issues we needed to deal with. (Collecting tickets from train station & working out departure trains etc for us) Overall he showed parts of the city we wouldn’t ordinarily have visited without his help, including a brilliant restaurant tip! We thoroughly recommend doing this tour when in Tokyo & hope you get Taka as your guide!! Thanks Taka keep up the good work! J & P
We had the pleasure of being guided by Mami such a wonderful knowledgeable Person! We highly Recommend her, we had an amazing Experience!!!
This experience felt incredibly authentic. Going with a guide who grew up in the area and can take you to places where only Japanese people eat lets you immerse yourself in the culture while avoiding tourist spots and visitor-focused costs.
Taka is very knowledgable of the city and fun to work with
We had a great time with Taka! He picked us up at our hotel on time and took us on an adventure. After 13 days of shrines and temples, we really wanted to do something fun. Taka took us to Akihabara for anime fun! My sister is a huge DragonSlayer fan so she was able to find a Nezuko t-shirt. We stopped over at the Harajuku Harry Potter store for some merch you can only buy in that store. Taka also took us to an incredible Ramen place that had one of the best Vegan ramen’s I had ever tasted! It had a rich broth made with soy and chili oil and even had soy meat. Incredible! Also, Taka is a train wiz. We didn’t want to purchase the train card, opting to purchase tickets as we go. While it can be a bit of an extra chore, Taka knows the transportation system extremely well. It’s like he had memorized all prices for wherever you wanted to go and could navigate you there. Some how, even with the busy Japan morning commute, we ended up on a train that was barely packed. If you want to get around Japan seamlessly, trust me, Taka is your guy!
Taka was wonderful at sharing his love and knowledge of Tokyo. He made great recommendations for the tour and for our remaining time in Tokyo
Taka was an excellent guide. Aimed to please. Provided lots of information and answered questions. Gave advice beyond the tour and made himself available to help, if needed. Made great suggestions.
We had a great time exploring Tokyo with Mami! She was knowledgeable, navigated the train system efficiently, and brought us to local spots to buy snacks that we might not have discovered on our own. She also contacted us beforehand to discuss our itinerary. Highly recommend this tour for anyone who wants to explore Tokyo beyond the usual tourist spots!
Kevin us a very experienced guide, he is patient and friendly, great trip.
Great way to have introduction to getting around using public transport. Itinerary was customised to our selection of sights to see. Mami was great. Contacted us in advance of our tour and couldn’t be more helpful. Even after the tour had ended. It was a pleasure to meet you Mami. Thank you.
Taka was a fabulous tour guide. He made it very personalised. He was friendly, knowledgeable and helped us navigate Tokyo! Taka was super friendly too. Highly recommend .
It was me, my girlfriend, and a couple friends first time in Japan. Of course we planned a couple of things and knew of a few spots to hit, but we honestly didn't plan that much. So what do we do? where should we go? what are lesser known spots? What better way to figure all of this out than a personal guide for the day who can just answer our questions as well go. It was quite literally a last minute booking, but luckily Satoshi fit us in. 0 plans, just meet up with him and wing it as we go. We saw all sorts of cool things, went to cool places, ate unique foods, and talked about everything under the sun. Not only creating a friendship, but helping to tailor our day together based on what we liked or were into. I recommend doing this so much, that even when we were there, we set plans and booked him again for another day to do the same exploration type day, but in the Fuji area. Satoshi is a great guy, who creates great excursions, and I hope to see him again.
We were able to fully customize our city tour. Taka, our guide was very helpful, accommodating and professional! He is also very knowledgeable and provided very informative insights! Thank you, Taka.
The tour was amazing, the better was the hospitality of our guide takanari “taka” , he explain all and answer all the questions and recomendations very friendly. It was a very good tour I will take it when i return with my family
Taka met us at our hotel at 7pm and helped us get on the subway system to travel to west Tokyo to see the sites there. The nightlife on a Wednesday was busy and the different stores (visit with the pigs) was eye opening. We then went to see Shibuya Crossing. Again it was crazy how many people could be seen crossing and dancing in the intersection on a weeknight. Taka also made sure we got back to our hotel without getting lost in the subways. All in all an enjoyable evening.
Taka was a great guide, he was very knowledgeable and a lot of fun. Also very considerate and helpful as the day of our tour was very hot and humid.
The tour with Taka was absolutely wonderful! We enjoyed a full day of sightseeing and a delicious lunch. Taka is knowledgeable and welcoming! We learned about the history of various sites and the culture. He even helped with translating when we passed by a store I had been looking for. It felt like we were spending an afternoon with an old friend. We also appreciated that he is actually Japanese and from Tokyo, but his English is also very good. We did the 8-hr tour and were completely exhausted after, but it was worth every minute. Highly recommend!
Mami gave us a one of a kind personalized tour. We hit all the standard highlights (imperial palace, red bell temple, etc), but took detours to see the unique tokyo highlights that would interest our group (e.g., where to buy a vintage discman). She even helped us with our bullet-train tickets for the next day.
Taka is amazing!!! Had a great time exploring Tokyo with him!
Me and my friend had a blast with our guide Mami! She was super helpful and knowledgeable and we had heaps of fun. Her English was perfect which helped a lot as well! She was also the guide for Tracey McGrady, she’ll be able to share some stories and pictures if you’re interested! Would totally recommend if you’re looking for a diverse, fun, and informative Tokyo experience with a fluent English speaker!!
Fredrick was super. Explained everything we wanted to know not only for today but what we could do in future days. Great language skills
Wonderful day with Sumire! Our lovely guide was promptly waiting for us in the lobby of our hotel, and she tailored the tour to our family requests. She spoke English perfectly and taught us so much during our 4 hour tour.
Taka was a great tour guide. Very friendly and has a great knowledge and enthusiasm for his city. We did this tour on our first full day and it was a great way to get our bearings and Taka helped us get our Suica cards showed us how to use the subway system. He contacted us before the tour to find out our interests so that he could personalize it. As well as it being an extremely interesting day he gave us lots of tips and recommendations. There were also some great surprises - but I don't want to spoil it for future tourists! He also has a great knowledge of Kabuki as he comes from a family that have performed for many years, very interesting as it is something we didn't know much about You definitely can't go wrong booking with Taka, especially at the beginning of your trip as he knows the best places to visit and will customize it to your needs
We had an amazing time with Taka during our private tour in Tokyo! Traveling with 3 kids under 10 can sometimes be challenging, but Taka made the entire experience fun, stress-free, and memorable for everyone. He did an incredible job showing us local cultural sites and taking us to great shopping areas while sharing insights and stories that made us appreciate Tokyo even more. What really stood out was how mindful he was of our children — he always made sure they were safe, comfortable, and engaged throughout the day. Taka has a personality that instantly makes you feel comfortable. Hanging out with him felt more like spending time with an old friend than being on a guided tour. He’s easygoing, friendly, knowledgeable, and genuinely cares about making sure everyone has a great experience. If you're visiting Tokyo, especially with kids or family, we highly recommend booking a tour with Taka. Thank you for helping make our trip so special!
This was the best tour we have ever done. The guide was knowledgeable and taught us lots about the sights as well as Japanese culture, fun. The guide also spoke great English.
Everything was amazing!! Our guide was so knowledgeable and friendly! Highly recommend!!
Well worth doing and a great way to learn how to navigate with public transport as well as some of the historical significance of various landmarks.
This is a great activity for your first day in Japan - so nice to be met with a warm and friendly face, a confident guide to orientate you in this bustling wonderful overwhelming city. Satoshi is a fantastic guy. Highly recommended.
We had an awesome and fun time with Mami. She asked us what we would be interested in seeing and doing the day before the tour. On the day she picked us up from our hotel and guided us on a fun tour of several cultural areas and attractions that we wanted to see. Mami is very knowledgeable about various Tokyo sites and Japanese culture. She showed us some really fun places, restaurants, and stands that we wouldn’t have encountered on our own. She is fun and energetic and really wants to provide an interesting and engaging tour. We had a lot of questions about everyday life in Japan and also about Japanese culture and she was very informative and open about Japan. Even after the tour, she was so kind to send me places of interest that I wouldn’t have remembered to visit. And she also told me several times that I could contact her if I had any questions or wanted more recommendations.
This was a perfect way to start our trip in Tokyo! Takanari led us to Senso-ji Temple, Asakusa, Ueno Park, and Akihabara. He had such a fun way of showing us these iconic sites through the eyes and understanding of a local. He shared the history of these places and also personal observations. We loved every minute of our time with him, he felt like an instant friend…10 out of 10!!
We booked a guide for our first day in Tokyo. Mami helped us understand the train system and provided excellent suggestions on things to do in Tokyo and other cities we are visiting in Japan.
We had a great time walking and taking public transport around Tokyo with Taka. He is knowledgeable and was also willing to help us with navigating the Japanese healthcare system.
Extremely knowledgeable and excellent answering my questions - definitely recommend
Taka was very easy to speak with and will definitely customize for you. We had no plan so we let him determine the itinerary, which worked well. The tour included great information and a useful introduction for our first day in Japan.
Excelent! Tour, great people!
We had only one full day in Tokyo and luckily found Taka as our tour guide in the last minute. He took us to the major sites so efficiently that we saw so much. He was really nice and knowledgeable. We’ll definitely recommend him to anyone. Good job Taka!’
We had a wonderful tour with Mami. She made the tour so interesting and we learned so much that even our kids paid attention the entire four hours. Would highly recommend hurt anyone that wants to get to know Tokyo.
We had a great walking tour with Taka walking, talking and laughing all the way! Taka navigated us through the subway system and took us to Meiji Shrine, Takeshita Street and Shibuya area, we were able to talk about Japanese culture and history of certain landmarks that we would have by passed or just had no idea about ourselves. We opted for the 4 hours which ended with an amazing lunch by Taka's recommendation and it was great to share a meal with him
We took this tour our first day in Tokyo prior to a cruise around Japan. Taka provided us with local look into to the customs of Japan, taught us how to navigate the trains, and gave us great tour of the city. Laterr in our trip someone pointed out highlights of Tokyo and we had already seen them with Taka. He even covered the difference between Shrines and Temples and gave us insight to the worship as well as customs when visiting them. Great guide.
What can I say..... We had the best day with Taka, not only did he take us to some amazing spots he guided us through the subways and connected with our sense of humour which made a really fun walking tour! We shared a great meal together at the end where the laughs continued! Thanks Taka!
I would happily recommend this walking tour. I booked the four-hour tour for myself on the first day that I arrived in Japan, while others I was spending the holiday with not arriving until the evening. Taka was a wonderful tour guide and helped me to forget my jet lag by giving such an engaging insight into Tokyo. Ahead of the tour, Taka got in touch to relay all the details and confirm that he would meet at my hotel, which was really helpful. At the start of the tour, we had a chat about my interests and the sorts of things that I would like to see, and he adapted the tour around that - making it bespoke certainly helped make it feel even more worthwhile. As part of the trip to the Meiji Shrine, Taka was able to seamlessly weave in details of the history and culture of the place, with his own experiences, giving me a much greater understanding of both the shrine and the wider context in Tokyo culture. He gave me a tour down Takeshita Street, before showing me Ginza, which included a hidden view of the Tokyo skyline from above, and a history of Kabuki theatre. Akihabara was another place that I wanted to see, and he did a great job of showing me around some of the places he had spent time over the years and recommended. Throughout all of the tour, Taka was engaging and informative. Additionally, he helped me to understand how to navigate around the metro (including what the mega stations with lots of walking were!), he took photos to help me remember various sights, and gave some good recommendations on places to eat (that were not touristy), both in Tokyo and in the other cities that I would be visiting in Japan. As a solo traveller, the tour helped me not to waste the first day wandering around like a zombie, but actually make the most of seeing lots of parts of the wonderful city that is Tokyo. Taka is a great tour guide, and this is definitely a really worthwhile experience for anyone travelling to Tokyo wanting to know more about the city.

Taka is an amazing Guide who knows Tokyo very well. He took us to amazing sites like Shibuya crossing and took great photos of us. We loved how patient he was , always asked if we were enjoying ourselves. It was a lovely day and in the end he joined us for dinner. We went to an authentic Japanese Resturant where he helped choose delicious dishes. We really enjoyed the day with Taka.
Come hungry! Lots of food - all delicious! Enjoyed walking through various areas between restaurants, with our guide telling us information along the way.
What an incredible experience? Our guide was so considerate and helpful with all of our needs, including mobility issues and helping us navigate all of the subway and train system of Tokyo. It was such a beautiful experience and a beautiful place. We are so thankful that we chose this tour.If you choose this tour, you can't go wrong.
Taka was very kind, he adapted his tour specially for our wishes and kids âges and interests. Great experience to get introduced to the city!
Takanari conducts a thorough tour of Tokyo’s historic and modern day highlights. We only had a day to tour and we were left feeling like the only things left to see were the typical tourist traps like towers or other places requiring admission. We still had time to get those in after our tour though, so we didn’t miss a thing. I really appreciated the underground classic video game dens and the anime collectables stores and the street where he used to spend all his money on retro clothes like classic Nike shoes and American brand clothes, and then there was the alley with the stores where you could play with small pigs, Capybara’s, Otters, puppies and birds. Loved it all.
Takanari runs a very thorough tour of Tokyo. We covered every area and attraction that locals frequent, which kept costs down while exposing us to common activities such as shopping for anime collectables and cards, and visiting shrines and gardens. We only had one day to visit so we obviously covered Shibuya Crossing and a few other areas that seemed to have large numbers of tourists. If I had a second day I’d tell him money is not an object, take us to the expensive elaborate gardens and up the coolest towers and buildings.
