Tokyo Private Custom Tour With Local Guide Highlights&hidden Gems

A fantastic day with Ari, who reached out prior to our arrival to see what we were interested in. We saw the Imperial Palace, Temples, the city in general, Temples and 5 story pagoda. Our hotel was near a building with a roof garden, and we didn't know if we could go up the top - and he took us up, wonderful views and we had lunch at restaurant there, he helped us choose from the menu, as we'd only been in Japan a few days. Ended our day with the serene gardens, at the Meiji Shrine, went on the quieter paths. Gave us tips about getting around Tokyo, really helped us orientate for rest of our stay there. We had great chats about cultural differences, he explained the Shinto/Buddhist connections. He was a wonderful, engaging and thoughtful guide. One of our most memorable days in Japan. A really enjoyable day that was rather flexible and provided a good overview of Tokyo. We saw some places I don’t know we would have checked out on our own, on our first trip. Recommend doing this your first day or two in the city, as it’s also a good introduction to the subway and train system.

Tour guide met us at the hotel and got the tickets we needed. Mary gave us some interesting history along the way. We went to Asakusa, Meiji Jingu, and Harajuku. Weather was crazy hot and humid but the sights were so neat. Thankful for the a/c in the trains.

Very well done tour. Our tour guide Aki reached out prior to the trip to understand what we were looking for, our group size and ages and physical abilities. We have 2 kids on their first big international trip ages 10 and 13. He customized the trip perfectly with just the right amount of culture, history and shopping. Explained the significance and history and was extremely helpful with tips and guidance for the rest of our trip. He worked hard the full day! The kids had a blast. Couldn’t have asked for a better experience, highly recommend!

We chose not to visit the typical historical sites we might visit in another city. Instead the tour focused on the daily experience and culture of life in Tokyo. We saw active neighborhoods, markets and shopping districts. We gained a lot of perspective into Japanese attitudes and life. It was very informative and fascinating. Our tour guide was a Westerner who has lived here over twenty years, providing him with terrific insights.

Aki was really good and knowledgeable of the area, it was fun to go on this tour he helped us a lot and even gave recommendations of what else to do in Tokyo.

Seiji gave us an absolutely superlative tour in and around Tokyo. He is very personable and knowledgeable, not to mention fluent in English, Japanese and Hebrew. His youth and work experience in Tokyo gives him the perfect background for guiding visitors. He met us at our hotel for this metro and walking based tour of the important cultural spots as well as the popular tourist areas. We enjoyed his insights into the culture over lunch. As a former rickshaw driver he also arranged a rickshaw ride for us that was delightful. If you have a day in Tokyo Seiji is the tour guide to spend it with!!!

Aki was our tour guide. He was a lot of fun and knowledgeable. We were also able to customize our tour, which was great! Outside of the typical things to see, he showed and shared things that a typical tourist would not know. We had interesting conversations about the differences between Western & Japanese cultures…A great experience!!

Our tour guide at 10 a.m. did not show. I contacted Viator (via What's App) and they connected me to the tour operator Seiji from See Jay Company. I communicated the problem and they offered us several solutions. We chose the same tour with private car, an upgrade from our original tour. Our guide Aki was wonderful. We visited the Godzilla head in Shinjuku. We toured the Meiji Shrine and ate lunch at Yoyogi Park (like the locals). We walked Takeshita Street and he encouraged us take cute anime pictures. Then we walked the streets of Omotesando to view the high end stores. He was willing to pick up our son who arrived during our tour at the HND airport, then dropped us off at the hotel. We had great conversations and learned a lot about the Japanese culture. Aki continued to stay in contact with us during our week in Japan. He helped us book a local sushi restaurant and offered to pick us up from the subway station. I emailed him when my husband fell and needed medical help. He immediately called me and found a orthopedic clinic close to our hotel. We had a wonderful experience with Aki.

Sri ji hillel is an excellent guide. He knows Tokyo and succeed in giving a very pleasant experience in it. We went with him to Fuji yams as well and enjoyed it very much. He is highly recommend!

Seiji was amazing. He picked us up at our hotel and we took trains to go on walking tours on two different days. We saw many beautiful sites in Tokyo and wonderful eateries as well. I recommend Seiji and his team wholeheartedly!

Hillel is an incredible tour guide. He made sure to ask me about my interests and tailor made the tour for me. I did an evening tour and saw a whole other side of the city. I had a late night flight and he was able to work with my schedule. He was very knowledgeable and informative about the history of each and the culture of Japan. We had a great time exploring the highlights of Tokyo. We brought our 4 kids and were so pleased to have such a patient guide, Sei ji Hille. He not only taught us about the locations we went to see together, but offered helpful tips and insights that helped us navigate the rest of our time in Tokyo. That was invaluable as we had several days left and now had direction.

Aki is fabulous at knowing the hotspot for great pics. He took the extra steps in making sure I took part in planning my itinerary for the day. I layover in Tokyo for two days and this tour really cut the time down in my exploration and focused on the high level of interest. I had an amazing experience and since he’s a local, he knows where to go and the recommendations were very helpful in coming up with a custom itinerary. I highly recommend this tour if you’re short on time and want the highlights or hotspot for pictures. Places like the Emperial Palace, Tokyo Tower, Tokyo Skytree and/or Japanese Garden. It was nice that he met me at my hotel at Haneda and was on time to start our tour. I had the opportunity to take the subway in Tokyo and without him, I don’t see how I would’ve made it through the subway system as it’s a little overwhelming if you don’t speak Japanese. To sum it up, spectacular tour and I highly recommend this tour. You will also get your steps in if you’re counting your steps since you will be doing a lot of walking. I have memorable pics and and saw amazing views. Awesome fun, fun, fun!

What a genuinely lovely young man. He asked what we wanted to do and made suggestions and planned it all out. We loved our tour and always felt safe and looked after. Seiji has an all-around knowledge of both historical and modern Tokyo and can communicate really well (he speaks better English than me!). We really enjoyed the food in the authentic restaurant he chose. He even organised a rickshaw ride for us with the amazing Jimmy. Seiji also takes some great photos. I thoroughly recommend you choose him as your guide. We'll certainly be using his services next time we are in Tokyo.

We took a day tour with Hillel on our first day in Tokyo. This turned out to be our best decision starting our journey in Japan. Hillel picked us up from our hotel. He started with general moving around tips on Tokyo’s train and subway lines. The day tour was excellent, covering the main areas and attractions of Tokyo. We visited shrine and temple, gardens, shopping areas and many more. We Stopped for snacks and lunch. At every location Hillel sheared his remarkable knowledge and made every sight interesting.
