We had a great evening with our host Candy. She was very warm and welcoming and took us on a shopping trip to buy our ingredients, explains what to look for when buying fish for sushi. Candy was great fun and we enjoyed cooking and tasting the delicious dishes we made. A great start to our holiday

The food was outstanding. I would have liked to have more instruction, though I admit that a few of the attendees were part of the cause of the short coming. They were quite loud and their conversations were distractions from the class during both during shopping and cooking. Also as in the past, I had trouble getting the actual tickets through Viator. They sent me a link that would not load when I booked the trip and even the morning. Without the tickets, I had the address but not the pickup instructions. That lead to a high level of anxiety as we arrived at the address, but nothing nearby that appeared to be the event. I had to find cell service near the the address and was able to download the instructions on meet up just a few minutes before the event. It was only then that we found out that the host would meet us in front of a random store. The host arrived just before the appointed hour so we were thinking that we were going to miss it. In Italy a couple of years ago, the tickets only became available after the admission time and we were never allowed into the exhibit. Yet Viator did nothing to compensate us.
Candy was a great host ! we started with grocery shopping and infos on products. we had a wonderful evening, many recipes, tasty meat and vegetarian dishes. it was awesome :) thank you so much <3

This was an INCREDIBLE experience. Our guide Key met us easily and took us to a local grocery store where she showed us not only what we were getting, but other cool Japanese items. At the end you picked up the three complimentary drinks of your choice. The cooking class was very intimate with the small size which made it really enjoyable. Key was fun and personable. The best host for the activity, she really made a huge difference in our experience. We had such a fun time and I am so glad we did this.

Amazing food experience with an amazing instructor.
We loved this class! The meetup instructions were very easy to understand and the guides of the class were amazing. They were very knowledgeable and made the class so much fun. Walking through local grocery store was a very cool experience and they walked us through how to pick the best ingredients for the meal. Making the dishes was so much fun and they even shared the recipes we made at the end with us to be able to make them at home. This class was definitely worth the money and the highlight of our trip so far

Candy was brilliant - from start to finish she was very friendly and felt like an extension to our group. We learned how easy it was to replicate Japanese cuisine at home and left with lots of inspiration. It was great how you got to shop for your ingredients beforehand and there was an opportunity for each member of the group to get involved. Would definitely recommend if visiting Tokyo!

Meeting went well, good pre-event communication. Short shopping stop and a 3-4 block walk to final location. Guide was pleasant enough but seemed disinterested, hurried, and struggling to work alone (prep, instructions, responding to questions, assistance, clean up). Seems a helper would have been well received. Event itself just didn’t seem cohesive, fun, nor truly educational. When finished guide didn’t walk two senior couples back to meeting location in the dark, didn’t even assist us down very steep slippery stairs to the street. Event showed as 3 hours. Lasted 2h40m just fyi.
What a great way to spend an evening in Tokyo! My wife and I loved the laid-back feel of learning to cook, and shop ingredients for, delicious home-cooked Japanese dishes. We will definitely be making these dishes back home in the future! Our guide, Candy, was absolutely fantastic! She was incredibly friendly and always made us feel welcome in her very charming studio! What a wonderful evening! My husband, adult daughter and I ended up being the only participants due to a last minute cancellation. We got to visit a local supermarket before arriving at the apartment. Yuma and Masae were absolutely delightful - friendly and interactive. They demonstrated the dishes and then we were given the chance to make it ourselves so even if our dish didn’t work, there was always a back up but everything did work so there was so much food to eat. Easy to follow, fresh and absolutely scrumptious. I would do this again
Amazing cooking experience to get to know Japanese culture and cuisine better. Alice was wonderful with us, sharing a lot of details and her knowledge and answering all our questions. Without a doubt, one of the best tours of the trip! The recipes are easy to make back at home, so very practical!

This was such a fun activity! Alice was so kind and knowledgeable about the history of cooking in Japan. She took us to a market and pointed out some great products and told us how they differed to what we have in the US. Then, she brought us to the studio and guided us on how to cook 5 amazing dishes. Alice was such an amazing host. From start to finish! Our small group had a great time and the food was delicious. Alice was so knowledgeable and fun. We enjoyed this class during our first visit to Japan.
Since I ended up doing this experience alone with Alice, it turned into a private cooking class. Unfortunately, I missed out on the excitement of cooking with a bigger group, but at the same time, I was lucky to have a private session with a local Japanese woman and share some truly unique experiences. First, we went to the supermarket, where I got to choose what to eat. After that, we prepared the different dishes while eating and drinking typical Japanese wine. It was a great experience that I highly recommend. There was a lot of variety, and the food was delicious and easy to recreate at home. In total, we spent almost 3 hours together. Thank you Alice 💙
