Itinerary
Make your own bowl of matcha at Chikusuian on Takeshita Street in Harajuku, Tokyo. In this approximately 30-minute experience, pick up a bamboo whisk and follow staff guidance to prepare matcha yourself. No previous experience is needed. Once your tea is ready, enjoy it with a seasonal Japanese sweet and discover how the flavours complement each other. The activity takes place in a dedicated area in front of the tea room and focuses on making and tasting matcha. It does not include a tea ceremony demonstration or private instruction by a tea ceremony practitioner. The experience is conducted in Japanese, with English support through machine translation. An English-speaking interpreter is not available. For bookings made the day before or on the day, an alternative sweet replaces the omogashi. Enjoy a hands-on introduction to matcha that fits easily into a day of sightseeing or shopping in Harajuku.

Good! Nice experience! Do come back next time
This was an amazing experience. They were able to take us quickly on the same day and Yuki walked us through every step of the ceremony so we could get an authentic experience. Highly recommended!
Amazing experience. Yuki was knowable and friendly. Highlight of our trip.
Wonderful very peaceful experience in Harajuku. Highly recommend this family experience. Very beautiful experience. So much calm and peaceful soul enriching experience away from the crowds of Harajuku. Highly recommend. Matcha tea is wonderful and very friendly staff. Photos welcome.
This was a beautiful experience my husband and I did. We were the only ones during the experience and Soubi and Koboyashi were extremely informative and kind. Would recommend!
Authentic feeling, great match, nicest people. Highly recommend!
It was purely magical and I would really recommend it to anyone. The host was really helpful, explained everything with details.
A beautiful matcha ceremony with clear instructions on how to best honor the experience. Highly recommend this, it was wonderful.
Incredible experience with a very peaceful atmosphere. Lovely detailed explanations and such beautiful cultural insights!
Well done. A little commercial though, not as authentic as I wanted it to be. Anyways, it’s a nice experience and family friendly.
The matcha taste is so delicious as the whole process from preparation by Matcha Master till the Matcha Server lifting our spirit to heaven. Great Experience to have one in life
Enjoyable quiet environment in the heart of Harajuku. You sir and watch the preparation. The matcha goes well with the red bean dessert.
If you want to enjoy Japanese culture, this is the place. Please also tell me how to drink matcha! The sweets were delicious, and I had a relaxing time in Harajuku!
It was nice to be able to make matcha in a traditional atmosphere. The desserts that come with it are delicious, and the matcha is delicious too.
Since it's right near Harajuku Station It is easy to understand. Thank you so much for teaching me so kindly. Thank you very much!
Thank you very much 😊😊🥰🥰🫡🫡
While learning about the flow of making tea, we also had delicious tea, which was very soothing!!
Found this place on the maps, it's really nice, the interior is nice and a kind girl met me. The ceremony itself did not last long, but it looks beautiful and delicious
I was told that I was fine on the day, so I was able to experience it in a hurry. At first, we were only going to have it, but I'm glad it was an experience. I'm so happy. I'm glad you came. The raw sweets, as well as the matcha, were very good. It was fun to be able to cook it together and teach it right in front of my eyes, and the matcha that the teacher could stand was very refined, creamy and amazing. I had a very fulfilling and refreshing time with them gently teaching me stories about hanging scrolls, tea flowers, and the seasons. The second cup was served with a matcha latte, and the matcha latte served in a bowl was also a good thing.
Experiencing the Wabi-Sabi of Japan in Harajuku Choose an experience set. They learn the meaning of each manner and ask what the host put into it. Everything in the tea ceremony has some meaning, such as changing hanging scrolls in light of recent social conditions. Take a cup of matcha, full of history, seasonality and umami, and look out the window and see the hustle and bustle of Harajuku. A space where you can fall in love with the depths of Tokyo, Harajuku and Japan.
My colleagues from overseas came to Japan, so I thought it would be a good experience and invited them. There was a guide in Japanese and English, but the explanations were all in Japanese, so you will need to be accompanied by a translator. But everyone who accompanied me was happy.
He explained it very carefully and commented that he understood his colleagues from overseas very well. Thank you very much.
It was my first tea ceremony experience. They explained carefully and made matcha delicious. I was able to relax slowly ~
I learned how to prepare matcha and it was a nice experience, I recommend it for your first approach in how to properly prepare tea, with respect
