What a fun experience! We learned a lot about the history and practice of sumo wrestling, had a fun and entertaining "match", and then audience members partook in mock wrestling matches in costume. The food was pretty good, as well. All in all, a fun and informative afternoon!

We had such a fun and interesting night. They educate you on the training of sumos plus you also get to see a geisha dance. Then the fun begins. The sumos make the whole evening so entertaining & funny. We were a couple, but the two families there loved it too. What a wonderful way to start our trip in Japan. Thank you
This show was truly one of the highlights of our trip to Japan. It is not a real sumo match but rather a fun entertaining show teaching sumo techniques. Wrestlers had a great sense of humor. Also enjoyed geisha dancer as part of show. Food was delicious, good drinks and fun atmosphere. Highlight for my husband and I was being chosen as volunteers to step into the ring!!
This experience was excellent. The whole meal and "Sumo Show" were enjoyable. The Sumo wrestlers were very engaging and fun. Was nice that they played to the audience. The Geisha dance at the opening was a nice surprise and a wonderful addition. This was so much fun and highly recommended.
We loved this Sumo show, the staff was friendly and welcoming, the host kept us engaged throughout the show, our teens loved it! The sumo wrestlers and geisha were amazing! Good and drinks were delicious! Highly recommend!
So Much Fun!!! Rey interactive, you can put on a suit and wrestle yourself, even teens! The sumo guys are the best, really make the magic happen, commentator also really good, food is good and plenty of it, unlimited drinks a plus and my son took full advantage, staff very attentive just overall awesome, and we left with a bag full of souvenir stuff at no charge, not cheap but well worth the money
I had a magnificent time. Between the all you can eat and the entertainment it was completely worth it and next time im in Japan I will be going back. They did a great job informing us about sumo rules and fun facts, the geisha did a great dance routine that was unexpected, and the wrestlers were very interactive and entertaining.
Great and funny experience, they teach the rules of sumo but also give a great show
This was so much fun... definitely would recommend!
It wasn’t a good experience for us. Everything looked very fake and setup. Food was below average. I wish they were more serious and real.
We had a fun afternoon learning about sumo wrestling history, some of the techniques used in wrestling and what the training regimen is. They were engaged with the audience and wanted everyone to have fun while enjoying lunch and drinks. Which we did!
Visiting from Phoenix Arizona. Loved it!!!!! Very entertaining, friendly and funny for all ages! Highly recommended!
Fun and interesting to find out more on sumo wrestling, especially the history. The food and service was amazing as well!
This experience was loads of fun if you're looking for an entertaining show with an opportunity to try and push a sumo wrestler! The food and drinks were good as well.
Our family really enjoyed this fun sumo experience! We sat in the first row, which was great since the sumo wrestlers got our daughters involved in the fun. The food was delicious as well! Our daughters (ages 9 and 13) said this was the highlight of our Tokyo trip!
Family friendly, fun and learn about sumo tradition. the area this is located in is really great to explore.
This was a fun and entertaining experience! It's definitely a tourist-oriented show with lots of humor, a decent meal, and drinks included. While I never expected a real sumo competition, I learned a lot about the sport, its traditions, and what it takes to become a sumo wrestler. Some of the wrestling felt authentic, while much of the show was clearly designed to make the audience laugh. I went with my wife and enjoyed it, but I think it's especially great for families with young kids or anyone who wants to learn about sumo but doesn't have the opportunity to attend a real tournament.
We had such a great time at sumo!! They teach you the rules and then have a match. The sumo wrestlers are very funny and great performers. The food was good and we felt very well taken care of.
This is a great time, a great way to learn and participate in a cultural treasure of Japan and to try your own strength if you dare! I hadn’t anticipated so much cheeky (pun intended) humor, and you get a meal while you’re at it!
Amazing place - amazing staff - hilarious show - not sure how it doesn’t have 5 stars from everyone!!! There was nothing not to love!
I absolutely loved this experience. The two sumo wrestlers were high energy and very interactive with the crowd. I enjoyed learning about the traditions of sumo and the geisha performance. The food was so delicious and beautifully presented. The beef in the soup was definitely high quality. I would recommend this activity for quests of all ages. My 9-year old son and my 80-year old mother in law both enjoyed the experience.
We sat in the first row (I think it’s considered deluxe or business) and felt like part of the show. It was incredibly entertaining and we laughed and took so many fun videos as memories. The cast is great and the staff was lovely and accommodating. I have boys age 11 and 14 and this tops the list of fun!
I went with my husband to a show. We sat in the action zone and preordered food and drinks. The show itself was fantastic. The staff were enthusiastic and kept the crowd entertained throughout. The shikona were also great, each manifesting their designated team personality and putting on a truly impressive show. Unfortunately they pack people in like sardines. Literally arm to arm, despite paying more than £100 per ticket. Our show was also during a heatwave and it was incredibly hot inside the room, with fans barely blowing out any air at all. Because the seats were positioned so closely together, and below the stage level rather than overlooking it, it was very difficult to see over heads as a smaller person. The bento boxes were fine but absolutely not worth the money. Being so squished in, we barely had the elbow room to eat them anyway. We also purchased the trio of cocktails which were delicious, but served in sticky glass bottles instead of the expected cocktail glasses. We also had asahi which was thankfully ice cold. I’d recommend this experience only if you’re lucky enough to snag a dining ticket, or don’t mind being crammed in a sweaty sticky human stink pit.
Great food and show, highly recommend it.
What I booked, what they tell you will get, you don’t. This entire experience is them overcharging you for things you did not ask for and undercharging your experience. BEWARE!!!
My expectations were low for this activity because it seemed like such a touristy activity. I was incredibly wrong!! I was blown away by how entertaining and engaging the show was, and by how good the unlimited food was. Typically, all-you-can eat shows have sub-par food, but this is not your typical show! We ordered three rounds of food and enjoyed every minute of the show. The host/MC was very engaging. They briefly explained the rules of history of sumo, then held brief demonstrations of sumo wrestling, before allowing the audience to volunteer to come on stage. I was one of the lucky few to be selected to go on stage and wrestle with my selected wrestler. This was such a great experience and I can’t say this enough- it really blew my expectations out of the water! I highly recommend if you want some entertainment, learn a little about sumo, eat while being entertained, and be goofy on stage wrestling a professional sumo wrestler. They give you a souvenir photo to take home. I will forever remember my experience as a sumo wrestler!
Fun experience: These wrestlers are Pros and putting on a show you won't forget easily. The entertainment was hilarious and we couldn't stop laughing. Food was very good and plenty and we left with a photo, a gift bag and happiness. Highly recommended (since there is no Sumo season right now)
Amazing show! Luxurious and fun. I highly recommend. You will learn, laugh, eat and drink.... and maybe even get in the ring to wrestle!
My son and I greatly enjoyed this event! We did the VIP package and had a blast! Very entertaining!
Fun evening with all you can eat food. Entertaining and good natured, an easy way to get exposure to sumo in a staged demonstration setting. People were entertaining and engaging to watch. Included a dance by geisha.
Action zone is a complete miss sell. Not what they advertise it is at all. Disappointment.
This was so much fun, go for the deluxe experience (better seats, food and free drinks) The event is so well staged, The Sumo guys know how to play their part and it is fascinating. One of the best things we did in Japan.
Wonderful setting performers, good atmosphere we lived it, my son got to perform with them, love this show
It wass a great show. Every entertaining, the food was delicious. Server staff were courteous and quick to bring out the items
Took my wife and I here and what am experience! Not just watching a match, learning so much about sumo also. The food and drinks were top notch and the service was impeccable. They have had crowd inclusion from anyone who wanted to join. I'd go back, an absolutely fantastic establishment in Tokyo.
Lots of food, lots of drinks and a lot of merchandise they give out their little gift shop has a lot of little unique things that you would love to purchase
Had a great time. Fantastic experience and great food. 10/10 would recommend. Staff made us feel so welcome and included.
Super fun and entertaining! The sumo wrestlers were engaging, hilarious, and powerful. It was fun seeing them do battle, I mean demonstrate a match. The Geisha was a nice surprise for me and she was lovely. The MC really made the show and it was fun to bang on the table to show support. Food and drink were good.
This is a must do! I had so much fun and I have never laughed so much. It was entertaining and I actually learned about sumo wrestling. When you walk in, you are served a tasty meal and greeted warmly. This is a fixed meal but unlimited drinks. Although it is a 2 hour show, the time went quickly. The sumo wrestlers were funny and the audience participation at the end was fun to watch. At the end of the show, we were given a "goody bag" which had a great cotton kimono, a wooden holder and a long scarf . There was also a picture taken for each person in my group which included the sumo wrestlers and the geisha who performed before the show. The cost was not cheap but the value was there and it was a nice way to end our trip to Japan. I would highly recommend this experience!
Quite entertaining. And that’s the purpose of this, food was quite good. It’s not a real life sumo fight. It’s an entertaining fight and an example of sumo is all about.
You only get to see three actual matches. The majority of the time is spent on goofy antics, crowd involvement, and a lot of training demos. While the environment is fun, the actual experience of seeing sumo in person is pretty poor.
This is a fun and approachable experience to learn about the culture of Sumo. Great food , service , drinks, and a great atmosphere! Highly recommend!
It was very entertaining and a unique experience. Good to see the action up close. The food was great too
I attended this experience to top off my long day walking tour in Tokyo. It was an entertaining experience with a couple of sumos who put on a good show. Most of it was comedy based but they also did show some legit moves. After the show was over they invited people from the show to attempt their hand at taking on the sumos. Great experience to take your family to.
This afternoon we experienced the amazing Asakusa Sumo Club in Tokyo 🇯🇵💥 As a travel agent it’s all about experiencing things firsthand so I can confidently share the best experiences with my clients — and this show absolutely delivered! The perfect mix of fun, humour and entertainment had us all laughing while also teaching us so much about the traditions and history of sumo wrestling 👏 The experience also included an all-you-can-eat chicken hotpot which was absolutely delicious 🍲😋 Such a fun way to enjoy a traditional meal while watching the show. Even better, there’s an authentic kimono shop onsite where I was able to pick up a short-style kimono to wear to tomorrow’s traditional sumo tournament — which made the whole experience feel even more special 🇯🇵✨ Tomorrow we’re off to a real sumo tournament in Tokyo, and honestly this has been the perfect introduction before seeing the real thing live. The best part? Official sumo tournaments only happen at certain times throughout the year, but the Asakusa Sumo Club runs year round — so no matter when you visit Japan, you can still experience the excitement and culture of sumo 🇯🇵🔥
The actual experience was great, entertaining and engaging (albeit a fair bit removed from actual Sumo). It was funny and lighthearted and got the audience involved. However the booking on Viator was extremely poorly worded and our all-inclusive experience was not so. It was very embarrassing to be asked for payment at the end. When I contacted Viator the customer service was awful, no explanation or apology. Will seriously make me consider using them again. 5 stars for the location experience, zero stars for Viator experience.
This was by far one of the funnest things you could possibly do when you come to Tokyo! It’s super engaging and hilarious! The sumo are very funny and the MC keeps you engaged with the whole thing! The food, spectacular, the atmosphere, engaging, and the food is PHENOMENAL!!! Please please do this tour!
My husband and I had a great night. Everyone was very friendly and efficient, the food and drinks were great and the performers were amazing. Thank you for sharing your Sumo history, knowledge and show with us (and also for having patience and giving us lots of laughs when my husband decided to get in the ring and wrestle with you LOL). We would highly recommend this tour/experience.
A fun experience. Family friendly sumo themed entertainment with some good insight into sumo wrestling and culture. The food was pretty good but not great. The show is designed to be accessible for everyone, so I felt it was lacking some deeper information into sumo life and more focused on keeping everyone entertained and letting people challenge the sumos in silly costumes. But if you want a nice two hour show with a decent lunch and a few laughs this is a very good choice.
Amazing experience, so much fun and the wrestlers make it a humorous experience!!! Highly recommend!
