This was a really neat experience, for our family of 4 (adult female, adult male, female child, male child). This was on my daughter’s bucket list, and she loved it. We added on the hair style option for her and it was quick and beautifully done. Lots of options for outfits to chose from. A bit difficult to find as Apple Maps doesn’t lead you to the correct street (one block over) but communication was quick and easy, so we were able to find it then. We had a morning appointment, but the photographer for the souvenir photo was only coming at 5 pm (obviously took our own photos), and we had other plans, so we missed out on that as we weren’t prepared to be dressed up all day.

Itinerary
Start your day at our cozy kimono shop in Asakusa, just a 3-minute walk from the famous Senso-ji Temple! First, you'll browse our collection of beautiful, authentic kimonos and choose the one you love most. Next, I'll help you put on your kimono. My name is Kazune, and I grew up right here in Asakusa. Together with our nationally certified kimono dresser, we'll make sure everything fits comfortably and looks perfect on you. Dressing takes about 30 minutes. Free luggage storage is available at our shop, so you can explore Asakusa hands-free :) Then, it's time to explore! Stroll around Asakusa at your own pace, visit Senso-ji Temple and Nakamise Street, and take beautiful photos in your kimono. Feel free to ask me for my favorite local photo spots :) When you're done, simply come back to our shop by 17:30 to return your kimono and change back into your clothes. If you want to keep it longer, you can return it the next day for a small extra fee. Some visitors worry that wearing a kimono might be culturally inappropriate, but please don't! We really love seeing travelers enjoy our culture, and everyone looks wonderful in a kimono :)

Wako was amazing. She had 100’s of dresses to chose from and she was extremely helpful. I would totally book this experience again.
We had a wonderful experience renting kimono in Asakusa! She was incredibly kind and friendly, and I loved chatting with her while she styled my kimono and hair. She made the entire experience feel personal and special. Wearing kimono while exploring Senso-ji Temple and Asakusa Shrine was one of the highlights of our trip to Tokyo. It was so much fun and made for beautiful photos and memories. I highly recommend this experience to anyone visiting Asakusa!
The selection of kimonos and yukatas was massive with so many different options for each piece. We mostly took her recommendations because they were all so great. There were 3 of us renting them, and she dressed all of us in about 30 minutes. She was also so nice and polite the whole time and it was perfect for our day in Asakusa. If we came back to the area we would only rent from her!

This was a great experience. The kimonos were very nice and it was a nice and private shop to get changed in. We were a little lost in finding it at first because of the maps that directed us close, but not quite there. Once I watched the videos that were sent to me via WhatsApp, I found it no problem.! Super great shop and experience. I would highly recommend.
Great experience very kind staff it was an experience of a lifetime
Such an amazing experience! Rako was so sweet and helpful, I did this activity alone, so her openness to have such a great conversation, was very kind and made me feel comfortable. She also helped me pick out every detail of my Kimono and constantly asked me everything in my Kimono felt comfortable, etc. I would definitely stop by again in my next visit to Tokyo!
We booked our kimonos with Wako and everything was phenomenal! They have a great kimono selection to pick and all of them were beautiful! She gave the best recommendations and help me to pick the best of the best. She went above and beyond to make our experience amazing. Highly recommended!!!
What an amazing experience. She was so kind and helpful. She helped us pick out our kimonos and took pictures of us.
Friendly service, good English, fun, clean, lots of selection, with great backgrounds downstairs, and a few minutes walk to temple gate.
They were very nice and did a great job dressing us but then you on your own. Was under impression they would take us to a park to view Cherry Blossom and take picture. They did take our picture for us in front of the building we rented Komonos. Again very nice lady and she took care of us on dressing us up.
Such a fun and beautiful experience!! Our family loved it! Great background with bamboo right downstairs. And super close to temple entrance (4 minute walk!). Very friendly service!
This shop was off the beaten path but I felt like it was a more organic experience. The shop owner was very kind and helpful. I picked a beautiful orange Kimono and she helped me pick beautiful gold and white accessories. I was nervous about respecting the culture and wearing it correctly but I felt comfortable going out in it. I shared that my Grandmother was Japanese and that I was doing this i her honor. I would definitely recommend this rental shop.
I felt like I really learned about why they do each step of the tea ceremony and because they repeat each step it’s easier to remember. And using the image of a clock face helps to remind you where each piece goes. And if you love matcha then you should buy one of the beautiful matcha bowl tea sets they sell as a keepsake/souvenir! They’re beautiful!
Wako was friendly, patient and attentive. She helped my family select beautiful kimonos, accessories, and effortlessly created princess-like hairstyles. It took about an hour to style my family of 4. Our appointment started at 11 am and we had until 5 pm to return the kimonos. My whole family had so much fun in our kimonos walking around the temples despite the rain. Took many memorable photos that would be cherished forever. Thank you so much, Wako!
Wako was such a phenomenal host and kimono specialist. She took her time to make sure my husband, 2 year old and I were picture perfect in our kimono. I did not feel rushed at all. She has a wide selection of kimonos to choose from! I would recommend this place to anyone!
Super kind and helpful. Definitely recommend her service!
Wako was friendly & professional! Enhanced our experience & appreciation of Japanese culture. Added tea ceremony was a must do!
Sunrise Adventures was an amazing experience! She was so kind and helpful. Our kimonos were beautiful and we received so many compliments. There were plenty options to choose from. It was a bit difficult to find her actual location but once we did, everything was a breeze.
Instructions were very clear for location. It was very fun to dress up. Big variety for colors and belts. My daughter and I enjoyed it very much. We did not do the tea ceremony as it is done through a different reservation.
This was an amazing experience! I highly recommend! Definitely would do it again when back! She knows what she is doing and she does it well, I felt gorgeous. All the attire was beautiful and she styled me perfectly!
Great experience. Alot of Kimono to choose from. Had hours to roam the city. Me and my daughter loved it
Loved everything about the experience she was really kind and helpful even took pictures and videos for us. Would definitely recommend and would do this again!
Lovely lady. The best in the city! She took her time with my friends and I. Will also take pictures for you.
My favorite experience while here in Japan! Wako was very nice and helpful! I will definitely book again.
The location was very difficult to find. We spent an hour and a half looking. Finally viator sent pictures. The individual who dressed us was nice although seemed really rushed. Pricing was very confusing. We were told to meet a photographer at the temple but could not find him. She knew how to put Kimono together well.
Very nice place, a very kind, gentle, helpful and professional woman. Enjoyed the tour so much! The kimono was well sized and traditional
This experience was so much fun. We were the only two in the studio (which was great because it was a cozy place). The shop worker helped get us dressed in our beautiful kimonos and styled our hair to perfection! We looked so good and everyone made the experience magical! so glad we went with this company
It was such an amazing experience !!!! I am sure that I will be doing it again when next time I’m in Tokyo ! Thank you ! Enjoy !
Such beautiful kimonos!! The lady was lovely and helpful in making sure that it fit right and looked good. Definitely recommend, we went into Asakusa and took so many great photos. We got our hair done also, 10/10 Recommend.

I felt like a real princess in the process of experiencing getting ready with the women who worked here. I loved it over all.
Amazing experience! They had many different options and colors available. Will recommend they were very helpful in choosing the colors that matched best and styling your hair.
They got us all dolled up. We were a Japanese princess. We got so pampered too. We feel and look fabulous. They took such good care of us and told us what we can do and go near by. It does take a few minutes to get dolled up but oh my lord it was so much fun with friends and loved ones ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️😊😊😊😊😊 HIGHLY RECOMMEND. A beautiful experience💕 Please try it
She has many beautiful kimonos and yukatas to choose from. Also many beautiful accessoires. She‘s very nice and also spoke good english.
Really pretty !!! It's a must do in Japan ! The service is really good and the clothes really pretty, we took the best pictures of out trip !
I loved the experience of wearing a yukata in Asakusa with my friends! It was a very authentic shop, and Kazune really took the time to dress us nicely, always smiling. We even got some traditional bags and geta!
Lovely experience! The lady was very kind and welcoming. We were family of 4 ( 11, 7 years old) They absolutely loved the kimono!!
Kazune was incredibly nice and kind. She took the time to help us choose, get ready, did our hair and made us pretty. This is the place to be !!
It was my first time wearing a yukata and I was really nervous but Kazune helped me with the whole process and really made me feel more comfortable wearing it! I would highly recommend this shop, it’s pretty new I think but the prices are really good and there’s a lot of selection. Kazune is super friendly and she tried her best to communicate in English, she’s super knowledgeable about the whole process!!
We had a very good family experience with two adults and two children aged 8 and 10. We were very well received. We chose our kimonos and the girl who welcomed us helped us prepare each of our outfits. For the girls we were styled also, with care. We could take a small matching bag with us to carry our phone, etc. We were able to walk around the neighborhood of Asakusa and take many souvenir photos.
We borrowed two pretty kimonos and made the temples unsafe. We also received some compliments. The owner of the traditional clothing is very competent and has a very large selection. A very nice and recommended experience.
I was confused when I saw so many cutely designed yukata. The hair arrangement and the back are all included in the set, so it was good!
super welcome, we had a great time! The staff was very helpful. very clean I recommend to the top
A great experience! We were warmly welcomed by two absolutely adorable, very professional, gentle and caring women. They took the time to explain everything and dress us carefully, respecting traditions. Their kindness and expertise made this moment even more special. Many thanks to them for their welcome and delicacy. I recommend this salon with my eyes closed!
