An excellent experience. Educational and fun. A wonderful introduction to Japanese wine with a comprehensive overview of its history. Our hosts were super attentive and a pleasure to spend time with. The selection of wines were impressive and truly enjoyable. If you enjoy wine, and/or you are looking for a unique experience - you will love this experience!
It’s great extremely informative!! Food is good! They really knew their stuff and wines were interesting by taste and grapes
We had a great time learning about and tasting Japanese wine. Very unique activity. The person who led our tasting was engaging and knowledgeable and we had a chance to chat with the owner for a bit too. Wine was great, snacks were good and it was a fun activity for those that like wine.
I had a wonderful experience at Three Grapes. The atmosphere was very chill, cozy, and relaxing, making it easy to unwind and enjoy the afternoon. What made the experience especially unique was the international crowd. Most of the guests that day were from Europe and North America, and it was great fun chatting with everyone in English in such a friendly environment. The Wine Salon was also incredibly interesting. I learned about Japanese sake and many fascinating facts about Japanese culture that I had never known before. It felt much more like a cultural exchange than just a wine event. I highly recommend Three Grapes to anyone visiting Tokyo and looking for a unique and memorable experience. If you’re interested in meeting people from around the world, learning about Japan, and spending a relaxing afternoon in a welcoming environment, this is definitely a place worth visiting.
It was a very well-presented insight into the world of Japanese wine, featuring very fine wines. Very nice guys, by the way. Thank you so much for a wonderful afternoon.
I was pleasantly surprised with this wine tasting. I wasn't expecting the wines to taste so good. It was well presented and our host very knowledgeable. I would reccomend this event if you are into wine from a quality point of view rather than just for the sake of drinking
Thank you Anzu and Ed for an incredible experience! It was a pleasure to learn more about Japanese wine production and history as we tried various types of wine.
We had a wonderful experience with the owner and her employee Ed. Really learned so much about the history of Japanese winemaking and had the opportunity to taste five different wines. The accompanying food pairings were very tasty as well. It’s a definite go-to!!!
Treat yourself and go to this place for an unexpected surprise of being introduced to Japanese wine. Lovely light wines that pair well with food. Hosts were lovely and knowledgeable.
We chanced upon 3 grapes and had a wonderful time with Kojima and her team members wine tasting Japanese wines. Thank you for the great experience.
Hosts are very friendly, and very knowledgeable. It was a very fun time. And the wines were very good. Bought 2 bottles to bring home. Highly recommend.
We thoroughly enjoyed this guided wine journey. It’s a very intimate setting that allows for a deep dive into Japanese terroir and boutique producers. Esther’s expertise was evident from the start; she explained the nuances of each pour with great detail and made the history of Japanese viticulture come alive. The wines themselves were excellent and offered a unique perspective on the local palate. It’s a professional, well-paced experience that we would encourage any wine lover to book while in Tokyo.
cute and fun, mystery games and all
It was an excellent informative experience
Fantastic team and owner providing an interactive experience through the history and regions of Japanese wine.
Japanese Wine is not well known and most people will more likely drink sake or whiskey instead of trying an onknown Japanese wine. But for everyone who comes to Japan and is a wine enjoyer, this spot is a great place to experience some new flavours.
I was invited by my friend to join their Canadian and Japanese wine testing event and was pleasantly surprised with the experience especially with the varying tasty wines I tasted. Would definitely come back here to try more!!
I passed by the store with my friends as I was searching for a chill spot to explore more about Japan, and I found Three Grapes. The staff were very welcoming and explained to us about Japanese wines, then we asked for a wine omakase for an hour. The wine omakase was a new experience and a very enjoyable one, I did not expect to learn many new things about wine in Japan.
The wine curation is very precise and well chosen. If you want to have a good scope on Japanese wine, I fully recommend to come here.
Got the quick tasting with the history of the grapes and they give you a map for reference of the regions of the grapes. All the wines tasted great. Perfect pit stop if you need to take a rest or just feel like having a glass of wine and got learn more about Japanese wines!
Great place for an introduction to Japanese wines. Had a nice overview of the regions and a good red wine from Hokkaido. Recommend if you are in Tokyo. Near the Meiji shrine.
This place is seriously cute and such a vibe. I loved that it’s in a quieter area with way fewer tourists. I was in Kyoto recently and it was sooo crowded I couldn’t relax at all, so this felt perfect. All the staff were stylish and super nice, and everyone who joined the wine experience was friendly and classy. We ended up chatting, getting along, and even going out for drinks together after — which honestly says everything.
Really enjoyed this — didn’t expect it to be this good Honestly, I booked this without knowing much about Japanese wine, but I’m really glad I did. The wines were interesting and different from what I usually drink, and the host explained everything in clear, easy English. It didn’t feel rushed or touristy at all. The group was small, so it was easy to ask questions and just enjoy the atmosphere. Nice, calm space, good pacing, and great wines. If you’re in Tokyo and want to try something a bit different, this is a great option.
Alex is the best highly recommended everything, he knows what he is talking about and provided excellent suggestions
alex is super friendly and knowledgeable. English speaking and great prices. wine was great. ice wine was fantastic. very fun
We came in spontaneously and directly got a spot for the wine tasting. They informed us very well about the wines we were tasting. It was so nice, that we stayed for two more glasses each. Will definitly come again :)
I didn’t know anything about Japanese wine until discovering this wine bar! If you love wine, come here, do a tasting, and gain an appreciation for great Japanese wine!
We had a great experience! The sommelier shared and lot of insight to the unique world of Japanese wine. The wines are delicious and unlike anything we’ve tried before. Was great to add to the mix of sake/beer/whiskey on our trip. Just wish we booked ahead for the 1.5 hr tasting!
I’m a 25-year-old Japanese woman, and I normally don’t drink alcohol. I joined this experience because a friend recommended it, but I didn’t really know what to expect. What I liked most was that it didn’t feel like drinking just for the sake of alcohol. It felt more like traveling around Japan. Each wine came with a story about where it’s from, the region, and the climate. Since I know Japanese geography, it was easy to imagine visiting those places while tasting. There was no pressure at all, and I could enjoy everything at my own pace. Even as someone who doesn’t usually drink, I felt very relaxed and comfortable. By the end, I realized I wasn’t focusing on the alcohol, but on the places and stories behind each wine. It really changed how I think about Japanese wine. I’d recommend this to anyone who’s curious about Japan, not just wine lovers.
Fantastic! Got lucky and stumbled across this bar after visiting the nearby Shrine. They speak perfect English and offer short and longer/more educational tastings of Japanese wines!!! As a wine lover, I had been looking for exactly this type of wine bar. They opened two months ago!
I love wine and have spent a lot of time studying it, so I tend to be quite selective about tastings. That said, this experience felt genuinely well considered from start to finish. The wines were not chosen just to impress, but to tell a story. I appreciated how the selection highlighted the diversity of Japanese wine without trying to force comparisons with Europe. Lately, I’ve been enjoying Alsace wines at home, but this tasting reminded me why Japanese wine feels so closely connected to everyday life here. What stood out most was the tone of the experience. It was informative, but never stiff; elegant, but not formal. There was space to ask questions, reflect, and simply enjoy the wines. It felt personal and honest—like being guided by someone who truly cares about Japanese wine and wants others to understand it properly. I would highly recommend this to anyone who is genuinely curious, whether you’re new to Japanese wine or already deeply interested.
Went in for a Japanese Wine Experience session which lasted about an hour... they walked through a well-prepped presentation with slides on the history, terroir, techniques unique to Japanese wine making --- while drinking 5 glasses and some accompanying treats. Very professional. Totally a new experience, as I had no clue wine was a thing here. The interior was very modern and some people popped in and just sat for a few random glasses as well. quick walk from the shinjuku side of Meiji shrine.
I usually drink French, Italian, or California’s wines, and I’d always heard from friends that Japanese wine wasn’t very good. This experience completely changed that impression. The wines here are very different from French styles, but genuinely enjoyable in their own way. It felt calm, well curated, and not touristy at all. I’ve never seen Japanese wine abroad, so being able to try such a thoughtful selection in Tokyo felt like a rare and valuable experience.
Discovered this place while walking around Shinjuku and I spontaneously booked a tasting and this was probably my best experience while touring Tokyo! I discovered Japanese wine which I never thought could be this good! I highly recommend doing it!
Such a unique & unforgettable experience! 🤩 Did the Japanese wine tasting on a solo trip to Tokyo and stumbled upon this cozy wine atelier. I was greeted by the charming and very knowledgeable staff, the atmosphere is very homey. First time trying Japanese wine (such unique flavours! 😍) and the sommeliers taught me about Japanese wine production and grapes specific to Japan. Would recommend to anyone visiting Tokyo, I loved the experience and the wine 🍷 Kampai ✨ 🥂
It was incredible! Many thanks to Anzu and Ed for these discoveries! I recommend it to you, Japan makes incredible wine! Go for it, you won't be disappointed!
Very nice experience. Good information about the wines, and fun to taste Japanese wine. Very good wines, which we have not found at any other restaurants:) recommended!
It was nice to taste local wines. We were well informed about the grape varieties and wine regions. Nice experience for wine lovers. In addition, the service was done in French, which helped us understand!
