Excellent day spent with a very informative guide. He was very knowledgeable and pleasant. Would highly recommend him and this tour
Maddie was excellent and very knowledgeable. I very much enjoyed my tour with her.
Keiko was so patient and helpful. She took the time to take us from the hotel to wonderful sights.
We had a great experience on the tour of the Imperial Palace grounds and local neighborhood with Naz. It was our first day in Tokyo and Naz was really informative about the history of Tokyo and the palace and shared many stories and pictures to illuminate Japanese history. We stopped at Tokyo Daijingu and she gave us many insights about the shrine’s creation and use today. Lunch wasn’t included in the tour, but Naz helped us find a local place for Soba and joined us for lunch and more conversation. I highly recommend this tour with Naz!
Enjoyed our tour of edo castle and kanagazura with Sho. She was very knowledgeable and a lovely guide. We learned a ton and had a wonderful time. Highly recommend.
Sho was incredibly knowledgeable and interesting to talk to. I learned a lot on our tour which went through edo castle and the kagurazawa. I highly recommend the tour and especially Sho as your guide.
Sho was an amazing guide. She was kind, knowledgeable and patient. We learned so much and had very wonderful time. I highly recommend this tour to anyone wanting to learn more about the Edo Castle and surrounding area. She was very wonderful.
Great tour with plenty of recommendations for what to see next!
Mieko was an amazing guide! Learned so much and got great recommendations for the rest of our trip.
Our tour with Maddie at and around the Imperial Castle was a beautiful and informative trip. She seemed completely prepared for any questions we had and came with supplementary material to help explain things. Maddie was incredibly warm, conversational, and friendly. We had many follow up questions about the minutia of the masonry, flora, and the history of Japan and Maddie frequently answered questions I had before I could form them into words. The tour was beautiful and we ended up in a market area with several great recommendations for local restaurants, shops, and places to see.
Highly recommend the tour, especially Kagurazaka area - very cool with great food spots. Our tour guide Eriko was very knowledgeable and provided a great tour.
The tour was very interesting for anyone interested in Japan’s history. Maddie the guide was excellent. Speaks English clearly, and is very kind and helpful. She went above and beyond the needs of the tour by helping me to find an ATM, suggesting a restaurant where she joined me, and giving me advice on the subway to my hotel. I can’t recommend her enough!
Lots of walking, but very good if you were interested in Japan’s history. The guide, Maddie, was excellent.
Had an amazing walking tour with Sho. She toured us on a chilly morning with great enthusiasm... not only knowledgeable about the history of palace but about Japanese history . Would highly recommend.
The tour with Keiko as a guide was fantastic and highly recommended. She is extremely polite and explains the sights patiently, especially in the garden of the Imperial Palace with its autumn-colored trees. Walking through neighborhoods like Kagurazaka and visiting the Tokyo Daijingu Shrine gave me a truly authentic feeling for the city and allowed me to experience the mix of tradition and modern everyday life up close. The atmosphere was relaxed, personalized, and inspiring. A Japan experience with many local impressions that Keiko made especially memorable for me.
Great walk with Hiro, he explained the buildings history and also society very well. At all a very pleasant easy going walk with a great, flowing conversation. Many thanks
Hiro was an excellent guide. Lemon was also a great photographer. They shared lots of local information and insight. Great time!
Keiko was a fantastic host! She showed us the imperial castle grounds and through the winding backstreets of Tokyo. We had a lot of fun and she was so personable and exciting to be around! She even introduced us to tofu donuts, which we loved beyond all expectations. One of the best tour experiences we’ve ever had!
Meiko was most informative. It should be noted that the walking is closer to 4 - 5 miles, not 2. The guided tour is extensive. This tour provided a snapshot of Tokyo’s history. A wonderful and engaging city.
Hiro was very knowledgeable and friendly, able to answer all of our questions and showed us plenty of good photo spots and recommended places to look at or eat at not only along the route but also in the surrounding areas. I am very happy with the tour experience we had.
Fun and insightful tour. Learned much and had fun. Knowledge about the area and surroundings was great. Nice and helpful tour guide.
I ended up with a private tour! Gave me the opportunity to ask lots of questions which is the benefit of having someone guide you. It is possible to do this on your own without a guide but I learned a lot like the meaning of the fish on the roofs of buildings and why the gates are perpendicular to each other. Hiro is a young self taught historian with a friendly and enthusiastic personality
Hiro was very interesting and knew a lot about the places I saw and more. Walking was at a great pace for me. Great experience.
Miky is a very nice tour guide. She explained a lot of Japanese history during the tour. It’s a precious memory for us. Highly recommended.
We really enjoyed our walking tour of the castle and gardens. Aya was knowledgeable and experienced, and took some great group pictures.
Joao was terrific, very friendly and personable. We had a great time and would recommend him to anyone. We do this tour again.
Hiro, our guide is a charming, bubbly person who enjoys the tour and guiding us over the imperial palace to Kagurazaka district. It's nice walking in a cool day.
Hiro was our guide and did an incredible job. Really appreciated the historical knowledge, and answering lots of questions about life in Japan.
Good information provided by Hiro. Very friendly guide. We had a very pleasant experience Imperial garden was very impressive
Hiro was our tour guide - this was one of the best tours we took, we learned a ton about Japan and culture in general. Very friendly!
We loved our tour of the Imperial Palace grounds and Kagurazaka! Miky was an excellent guide. We learned so much from her about Japanese history, visiting shrines and temples, and contemporary Tokyo. She also pointed out many restaurants in Kagurazaka and gave us a delicious lunch recommendation. Would highly recommend this tour with Miky to anyone visiting Japan!
I wanted to see the parts of Tokyo with a local, Miky was great, she was very knowledgeable and friendly. I would recommend this tour to anyone who is going to Tokyo for the first time and wants to know where the locals go. We visited temples and Kagurazaka alley.
Keiko was an amazing tour guide! She is extremely knowledgeable and answered all of the questions that we had. She is super sweet and was very attentive towards our interests. We were able to learn a lot about the Imperial Palace, history regarding the Palace grounds, as well as the areas surrounding the grounds.
Keiko was an excellent tour guide! She really brought the palace garden and alleyway to life by giving personal examples and also showing off out of the way bakeries.
We really enjoyed our tour with Keiko! She showed us the imperial gardens and a traditional Tokyo area which was lovely. We even got to stop for coffee and treats. Well done!
The idea of relating Imperial palace and Kagurazaka was excellent. Guiding of Mme Mieko was really pleasant. It was really interesting.
Miky was an amazing tour guide! She was very knowledgeable about Edo and modern history and was very good at tailoring the tour to me. We went to a lot of places I’d never been to, even though I lived in Tokyo for several months. I highly recommend this tour!
Mieko was very kind and thoughtful throughout our tour. We had a wonderful time in visiting imperial Palace and surrounding temples. I would recommend to families with pre-teens or older like we had as there is a good amount of walking.
Who did a great job touring the palace grounds and some of the surrounding areas. While the grounds don’t have as many remains and buildings as I would have expected, it was still great to tour and see the size of the property. We got to hear imperial guards training, the gardens were beautiful, and walking through the surrounding neighborhoods was very interesting. Sho was very concerned we wouldn’t be able to manage as it was a hot day so she gave us lots of opportunities for rest. The only downside was I would have liked to have stayed at the temple a little longer. It was very interesting to see everyone praying for their relationships and learning more how it was the only goddess based temple. We ran a little long with the breaks but since none of us had anywhere to be we all ended up going to a ramen shop and learned more about some of the local shops and restaurants. She praised us for being great eaters too!
I had a wonderful time on the walking tour of the Imperial Palace garden and surrounding neighborhood. Miki was our guide and she was so pleasant and engaging. Our group had people from all over and she made sure to include everyone in the activity. I would highly recommend this tour especially if you’re able to have Miki as your tour guide.
I was able to enjoy all the brilliant historic and natural scenery! Without a guide, I wouldn’t have been able to enjoy the Imperial Palace at full extent. It was a pleasant experience!
What a wonderful experience in exploring the back streets of Tokyo, history of the Emperor's Palace, Railway station including the Romance Shrine which our Local Guide Hiro who gave a good insight of all the significant sites and experience. We found Hiro had under taken research and studied these areas in order to share his knowledge and information. We are happy to recommend any one interested in purchasing these individualised guided tours.
As a Couple we are pleased to report that the Tokyo Imperial Palace walking tour that was conducted by our Guide Hiro was excellent. We found Hiro had a thorough knowledge of the history as well as the Japanese Royal family and it's origins. We will certainly recommend any one considering an individualised tour to consider
The tour was good, Hiro knows his craft, very soft spoken guy, told us the history of Japan, enjoyed the weather as well, well recommended for families and friends
The palace was lively with lots of great places for photos. Taichi was a great guide. The snack shop was great and Taichi helped me get a day pass for subway so I could get around and shop all day.
We thoroughly enjoyed our tour with Hiro. He was extremely knowledgeable about the history of the Imperial Palace and the surrounding area, and we learned so much about Japan and its culture with this tour. We walked a LOT, so be prepared. Walking through the Kagurazaka neighborhood was fascinating as well, where we found a lovely secluded Japanese restaurant and enjoyed a delicious late lunch. We highly recommend this tour!
Miki was a very friendly and informative tour guide. We learned a bit of history, culture and tradition on the tour, had some sweets. The tour was just as described and a good combination of sites. Thank you!
