Our guide was Koba and he was fantastic. Koba was patient with our family as our two young kids needed plenty of breaks along the way. He was kind, informative, and knowledgeable. Koba was flexible with plans as we needed to change routes at one point. He also offered to take pictures of our family often and made good suggestions. Would highly recommend Koba!

Sensoji (浅草寺, Sensōji, also known as Asakusa Kannon Temple) is a Buddhist temple located in Asakusa. It is one of Tokyo's most colorful and popular temples. The legend says that in the year 628, two brothers fished a statue of Kannon, the goddess of mercy, out of the Sumida River, and even though they put the statue back into the river, it always returned to them. Consequently, Sensoji was built nearby for the goddess of Kannon. The temple was completed in 645, making it Tokyo's oldest temple.
This tour will allow you to explore Tokyo more efficiently in one day. Meet at your hotel, then move to anywhere you want.
Kappabashi Street (かっぱ橋道具街, Kappabashi Dōgugai) is a shopping street between Ueno and Asakusa, which is lined with several dozens of stores selling everything needed by restaurant operators, with the exception of fresh food.
Ameyoko (アメ横) is a busy market street along the Yamanote Line tracks between Okachimachi and Ueno Stations. The name "Ameyoko" is a short form for "Ameya Yokocho" (candy store alley), as candies were traditionally sold there. Alternatively, "Ame" also stands for "America", because a lot of American products used to be available there when the street was the site of a black market in the years following World War Two.
Tsukiji Outer Market (築地場外市場, Tsukiji Jōgai Shijō) is a district adjacent to the site of the former Tsukiji Wholesale Market. It consists of a few blocks of wholseale and retail shops, as well as restaurants crowded along narrow lanes. Here you can find fresh and processed seafood and produce alongside food-related goods such as knives.
The Edo-Tokyo Museum (江戸東京博物館, Edo Tōkyō Hakubutsukan) is housed in a unique looking building in the Ryogoku district. The museum's permanent exhibition vividly illustrates the past of Tokyo (known as Edo until 1869) through its exhibits and covers many features of the capital from the Edo Period to relatively recent decades. In an interactive way, visitors are able to experience and learn about various aspects of earlier Tokyo, such as the way of life of people, Edo Period architecture, cultural heritage, political climate, commercial situation and more. Through numerous models of towns, figurines and life-sized figures, the museum makes it interesting to find out about how towns were constructed in the past.
About half a dozen museums, a zoo, a Toshogu Shrine and the Shinobazu Pond are just some of Ueno Park's attractions. Ueno Park is also Tokyo's most notorious cherry blossom party spot.

our Guide Sam was amazing! she was really flexible with us and try to look out for our need during the trip and went above and beyond to help make our trip a smooth experience.
Had wonderful time and excited
We booked 2 different tours with this company. This review is for our 6 hour private tour of Tokyo by car. We opted for a private tour for the flexibility as we traveled with 2 young children in the midst of summer heat. Our guide, Show, and our driver were professional, knowledgeable, cordial and patient. We hit major sights in Tokyo and left feeling like we had a good overview of the city. This isn’t a cheap tour by any means but it’s was easy and extremely worth it on our family’s value scale. I highly recommended our guide and driver. Our guide contacted us before the tour to set an itinerary that worked for us. He had an awesome quick lunch rec for the kids. Don’t wait- just book. Highly recommended!
We booked a 6 hour Tokyo tour with Bruce Sugano and had a great experience! Bruce’s English is very good and he was flexible with us setting and changing the itinerary when we saw things we wanted to experience. We took the tour on our 2nd day in Japan and It was helpful to introduce us to the culture and help us gain an understanding of the city and some of its important sites. At the end of our tour, Bruce took us to one of his favorite sushi restaurants and introduced us to Japanese sushi! I would definitely recommend this tour!
We had the best tour with our guide Taku. He was super knowledgeable, shared interesting insights around historical aspects but was also very flexible and happy to accommodate the needs of our family with both teenage kids and a 6 year old. We’ve done history and culture but also modern and heaps of fun. He picked us up from our hotel and guided js through metro stations and busy streets with amazing efficiency. His communication was also excellent and very respectful. We would recommend Taku and his tour company to anyone visiting Tokyo. We’ve done so much within 5-6 hours and it didn’t feel overwhelming or tiring at all. And saved us from the many fights we would have had if trying to find our way around 😁
Hiromi Mizo was a wonderful guide and showed us through Himeji Castle and the neighboring garden. She is local to Himeji and the history and detail she was able to provide relative to the tour itself and the surrounding area made it very worthwhile.
Shuji made our 6-hour tour of Kyoto truly memorable. He was incredibly knowledgeable, friendly, and engaging, bringing Kyoto’s history and culture to life in a way that kept both adults and our 9-year-old entertained throughout the day. He tailored the tour perfectly to our family’s interests, shared fascinating stories, and made every stop fun and meaningful. Our son especially enjoyed the interactive explanations and local insights. We left with a much deeper appreciation of Kyoto and wonderful family memories. Highly recommend Shuji to anyone visiting Kyoto! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
We did the Tokyo City Highlight Tour with local guide, 8 hour walking tour and our guide was Masahiro Takahashi. Masa was an amazing tour guide who was very knowledgeable about everything and spoke very good clear English. We were traveling as a family with young children and he was very friendly, patient, helpful and accommodating to everyone. We highly recommend this tour and were very pleased with Masa as our guide.
We had a fantastic 6-hour walking tour in Tokyo with Bruce! He was incredibly kind, knowledgeable, and especially thoughtful in the way he engaged and accommodated our three young children. From the start, Bruce went above and beyond, reaching out ahead of time to learn about our interests and tailoring the entire itinerary to match what we wanted to see. He made sure the experience was enjoyable for both us and our kids, which we really appreciated. During the tour, he helped us navigate the subway and even taught us some Japanese along the way. His fun quizzes were a highlight and kept everyone involved and learning throughout the day. One of the biggest highlights of our day was when he took us to a local sushi spot…we ended up having the best meal of our entire trip there! We highly recommend Bruce to anyone looking for a personalized and family friendly tour in Tokyo!
We had a wonderful family tour with our fated tour guide Sam. Sam customised our tour to ensure all members of our family were engaged. Sam went above and beyond to ensure we felt comfortable navigating the train system once the tour had concluded. A truly lovely family-friendly experience that we highly recommend!
We had a great day going around Tokyo, a mix of Temple, Subway and Palace. Very enjoyable a great as we were not family with the city, an excellent way to start.
Naomi was an absolute pleasure! Patient, knowledgeable and accommodating, we felt we were simply spending the day with a friend. She shared so much about Japanese culture and history and was flexible with the schedule which made it even more enjoyable as we were able see and absorb so much during the tour. Definitely a highly recommended tour.
Our guide Mori San (Hideki Mori) was the best travel guide we have had. He is extremely knowledgeable on every place we went, and was able to answer questions! He was so kind, patient, and gentle with the kids in our family. He definitely knows what he is doing and is very amazing at doing it! He knew the best places for us as a family, and was able to be flexible and find a solution to our needs on this hot day. He deserves praise for his knowledge and the way he is able to educate while making everything immersive and entertaining for all ages. Will be recommending him to all friends and family headed to Tokyo! - Nichols family!
We did this tour with two adults and two children aged 9 and 7. We visited Asakusa, the Tsukiji Fish Market and Ginza. Izumi was a fantastic and knowledgeable guide who shared many interesting facts. The kids were particularly engaged with the fortune sheets at Senso-Ji shrine, including the animated way in which one obtains their fortune. The children also loved ‘Buddha’s Breath’, the incense stand, and the main hall of the temple itself. Shopping for half an hour in Asakusa and trying street food was also a real highlight for us and for the children. The fish market was exciting and vibrant with many places to eat; Izumi helped us find a proper sit down restaurant of high quality (many places in the market are “stand up only”, but our kids needed to sit down). Izumi also provided me with a metro map and explained about the two different ownerships of the different lines - invaluable information (for this reason I recommend doing his tour on day #1 in Tokyo if you can). The whole day was about 2km of walking, give or take, so not too much for littler legs, but we would have struggled to do this tour with a pram (many steps in the metro; having said that, I’m sure Izumi would have a pram strategy!). I hope this information helps you.
Fumiko was a fantastic, friendly and highly knowledgeable tour guide. She designed a fabulous and memorable day in Tokyo based on my children’s interests, and was so flexible when they became tired and hungry. I can highly recommend her!
Kappa was an amazing tour guide. Very accommodating with our schedule due to weather. She also had a ton of knowledge of the history of Japan.
We had guide Ted. He was well educated in Tokyo history, very patient with our 4 year old and 11 month old and an expert on the Tokyo Train System. He changed our itinerary on the run, including a visit to Pokemon Centre Tokyo for our 4 year old boy. After spending the day with Ted we were confident in hitting the trains for the upcoming 4 days we had in Tokyo by ourselves. Ted showed us the old school sights of Tokyo and the new “trendy” streets and culture. If Ted was up to it, after spending all day with my crazy family we would definitely go with him again and I would recommend his tour to everyone
We had Show as our guide for the day, it was the best decision to have taken a private guide. It was such a nice day, we learned a lot and Show was the best guide! Would highly recommend :-)
We had a guide named Masaki, he was awesome, and the places he took us and what he showed me and my family were great. 10/10 would recommend
As we planned our first full day in Tokyo, we felt it was important to have a guide to welcome us to the city. Naoko is so sweet. My 9 year old enjoyed talking to her and playing at a cat cafe. She was excellent at helping us reserve seats for the JR passes we needed to book for our trip. Because you are spending several hours with someone who knows the subway system, it’s nice to ask all questions for the rest of the days. She made recommendations on what routes to take for when we were on our own. She made it super easy for us! Arigato gozaimasu
We had a great day walking around Tokyo. Our guide, Yumi, communicated with us well ahead of time to make sure to set an itinerary that matched what we wanted to see. We truly enjoyed our day and friendship with Yumi.
Seizo was wonderful. We only had one day in Tokyo, and he aptly navigated the sister for my two young daughters and I to learn and see so much. The children are 8y and 6y old, and Seizo was flexible to take a break to cool off or have a snack as needed. It was a full day from 9am-4pm, and we left loving Tokyo! Thank you, Seizo
Fantastic tour with May. He knew all the spots and great food places. Couldn't ask for anything more. Very insightful with a lot of information and helped custimize our tour with what we wanted to see.
Guide who serviced us had bad experience, poor English and not much knowledge. He was like an escort and what we saw it was Tokyo subways system
Mariko was great. She communicated with us prior to meeting which was helpful too and met us at the hotel on time to show us around. I would say that as a first timer try to fingers out best what you want to really visit we winged most of the places and between train rides and lunch it can eat into your time in places. But it was a great time exploring and would recommend it, Thanks
We had an AMAZING day with our tour guide Kei! He was SUPER knowledgeable, patient, and understanding with us. We have family members with specific dietary restrictions and he helped us find delicious Ramen we could ALL eat! He was also flexible with our itinerary and gave us a FULL 6hr tour. Don't hesitate with booking this tour Tokyo is soo amazing ! P.s. don't wear band new shoes on this tour. You walk A LOT and your feet will be screaming if your shoes aren't comfortable.
Taka was a knowledgeable friendly guide who went above and beyond to show us the sites of Tokyo. His English is excellent along with his sense of humor. He helped us purchase Shinkansen tickets, shared delicious ramen with us, took us to the shrine where we received lucky fortunes and breathed in incense to help heal all ailments, crossed the busiest intersection in the world and shopped in Harijuku.
Our tour guide was very nice but not experienced enough as a guide. Quite soft spoken and it was at times difficult to hear him though his English was quite clear. We wanted more history and insight on Japan and we didn’t have that. For the cost of the tour, we could have done much better.
Yuko, our guide, was great. Enjoyed the time in the fish market plus the great tonkatchu meal. Using taxis around was great, if we had planned ahead to book a van even better.
Our tour guide Koji was very friendly and knowledgeable. He offered us a tailored tour based on what we had already seen and what we wished to see. The tour as whole was pleasant and informative. I would definitely recommend this service to anyone visiting Tokyo for the first time.
It was so nice to be able to have the day with our guide Yuko! She took us around to the places we suggested to see and also other places she added to our list. Very kond and helpful guide!
Our guide Krissan was very friendly, patient and spent a lot of time with us without us feeling rushed. He showed us lot of places in this beautiful city and was knowledgeable, shared with us history of each place. We turkey enjoyed the tour. Would highly recommend him
Wonderful first day in Tokyo, we had a wonderful time, our guide koji took us the must see points of interest for the first timers in Tokyo, he contacted us before the tour to find out what we wanted to see and give us great recommendations he was so patient and not rushing at all, he was really knowledgeable of all the areas, we are so thankful for having him for our first day.
We had the best time for this day tour of Tokyo blossom with TAKA our tour guide. Taka was great to us especially with our teenagers-twins and our 11 year old son on a long walking tour. He was very thoughtful, caring and knowledgeable. Taka took us to Imperial palace, Chidorigafuchi Green Street Cherry Blossom and most memorable was the Chidorigafuchi Boat Ride which was so fun though we were all reluctant at first and so glad we did. We definitely recommend this day tour and if you are lucky you will get Taka to be your guide. Thank You Taka for a wonderful time and for an amazing experience of Tokyo at its best.
Amazing!!! Great start to our vacation, Miho was amazing. She even gave us a class on how to use the JR and subways throughout the city, so useful for the rest of our trip. We Expierence a tea ceremony at the park, and had street food. Thank you for your hospitality in this beautiful country.
Emi was our tourguide and she is fantastic! Arranging the tour was great, she reached out immediately, and we were able to areange the tour arriving our preferences. She brought us to both the highlights as well as a bit more off-the-beaten path sites and experiences that I definitely would not have had on my own. Would highly recommend her as a tourguide and the tour group that arranged this.
We're so glad we did this tour, it was an absolutely beautiful experience. Great communication and planning from our amazing guide Kei ☺️ We told him which places were a priority for us and he worked out the plan. His English was phenomenal, his local knowledge, patience and kind manner with our young children made for a spectacular day. We didn't feel rushed, but he kept us roughly to schedule but was happy to adapt. So glad he insisted we see Ueno Park because the cherry blossoms were amazing!! Cannot thank him enough for a great day, would highly recommend. Not our first time in Tokyo, but definitely experienced it in a new way and got to try things we couldn't last time as it removed the language barrier and was lovely to have the insider/local perspective.
Our guide was wonderful. My son is 6 and our guide took that into consideration and took us to sights that my son would be interested in. The guide had great knowledge of the city and sights we visited. Had a great lunch eating Japanese style Pizza that was perfect for my son and new experience for me.
We did two private tours of half day in Tokyo, first one was with Eriko, second day was with Michio Akutsu. Both tour guides were really nice and kept our interest thorough the visit, while being very attentive to our 5 years old boy.
We are very grateful for our guide Tak Yoshikawa. He showed us around in Tokyo and gave us an insight into the Shinto. We have used Taks tips many times. We highly recommend this trip. Many greetings Birgitte
