Our tour guide, Menato, was awesome. He shared historical info on sites visited and his personal perspective. He was warm and personable. Showed interest in the group. Listened carefully. Asked follow up questions or thoroughly answered questions. He was funny. Without hesitation, I recommend this tour and our guide, Menato. Thank you, Menato!!

Asakusa is a historic district in Tokyo, best known for Sensoji, the city’s oldest and most famous Buddhist temple. Blending tradition with modern energy, the area features Nakamise Shopping Street, where visitors can find local snacks and souvenirs, as well as Hanayashiki, Japan’s oldest amusement park. Asakusa also offers a glimpse into Tokyo’s past with its nostalgic streets, lively izakayas on Hoppy Street, and scenic views of the Sumida River, making it a must-visit destination for culture and history enthusiasts.
Tsukiji Fish Market, once the world’s largest seafood market, remains a must-visit destination for food lovers in Tokyo. While the inner wholesale market has relocated to Toyosu, the outer market still thrives with fresh seafood, sushi restaurants, and specialty shops selling everything from dried goods to kitchen tools. It’s the perfect place to experience Tokyo’s culinary culture and savor some of the freshest seafood in the city.
Meiji Jingu Shrine, located in the heart of Tokyo, is a serene Shinto shrine dedicated to Emperor Meiji and Empress Shoken. Surrounded by a lush forested area, it offers a peaceful escape from the bustling city. Visitors can explore the tranquil grounds, admire the towering torii gates, and experience traditional Shinto rituals, making it a beautiful blend of spirituality and nature in the midst of urban Tokyo.
Shibuya Crossing is one of Tokyo's most iconic landmarks, known for its massive, chaotic pedestrian scramble. Located outside Shibuya Station, it sees hundreds of people crossing from all directions at once, creating a mesmerizing display of organized chaos. Surrounded by neon lights, bustling shops, and vibrant cafes, it's a symbol of Tokyo's energy and modern urban life, attracting both locals and tourists who flock to witness the famous intersection.

We had a great tour with Minato who was very knowledgeable and informative. Having the early start was great and helped us miss the crowds at the key sights. Would definitely recommend!
It was great to see all these sights in Tokyo early in our trip. Minato was our guide and he was great!
Minato was excellent. Good knowledge of the Japanese history. He is very personable and flexible with his time and choice of places we wanted to visit. We had a great time with him
It was a very nice tour with Hana, who was very knowledgeable and extremely helpful. She guided us through all the major parts of the city and gave us a lot of information not only about the attractions but about japanese culture and practices as well.
Takumi was the best guide! Knowledgeable, friendly, and navigated our whole group through train travel. Highly recommend this tour to hit all of Tokyo’s hotspots in one morning.
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ If you’re booking the Tokyo Early Morning Tour of Asakusa and Meiji Shrine, do yourself a favor — request Hana. She is absolutely outstanding. From the moment we met her at Burger King Asakusa Azumabashi, it was clear we were in exceptional hands. Hannah is warm, sweet, and incredibly patient — the kind of guide who makes you feel completely at ease from the very first step. Her knowledge of Tokyo’s history, culture, and sacred sites is deep and genuine. She doesn’t just recite facts; she brings each location to life in a way that stays with you long after the tour ends. What truly set Hannah apart was her flexibility and adaptability. She read our pace, catered to our needs, and made the experience feel personal rather than scripted. She helped us capture wonderful photos at every stop, guiding us to the best angles and most memorable moments — something we truly appreciated. This was one of the highlights of our entire Japan trip, and Hana is the reason why. If she’s available when you’re booking, don’t hesitate — grab that spot. You will not be disappointed. Hannah, thank you for an unforgettable morning. You are a true gem. 🙏
Hana, the tour leader, was just amazing. Her clear method of communications prior to the tour, the convenient choice of the meeting place, her patience, her knowledge about the places, her friendliness and most importantly her absolute fluency in English were above the expectations. I highly recommend her to everyone.
Hana was an amazing guide! She made our family feel so welcomed and comfortable along our tour. Hana was very knowledgeable in all of our stools and pointed out all the best places to enjoy the local cuisine/favourites. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone who wants to get ahead of the crowds (early morning tour), learn all about the beautiful culture of Japan, and try some of the best food you will eat! She was amazing with our kids and we all had a blast!! Thank you Hana for some of the best memories on our trip!!!!
An all-around great experience! If you don't have a lot of time and want to see a variety of sights, this is the tour. Don't be discouraged by the early time. Getting to see the sights early without the crowds is definitely worth the early alarm.
Hana was an absolutely fabulous tour guide. She was incredibly knowledgeable and slowed the pace to save our feet and legs. Learned so much about Japanese culture and visited beautiful Asakusa, the Tsukiji Market, Meiji Shrine and Shibuya Crossing. A full day with lots of walking made easier with a great guide. Thanks Hana!
We had an absolutely wonderful experience touring Tokyo with Takumi. From start to finish, he was professional, warm, and incredibly knowledgeable. His deep understanding of Tokyo’s history, culture, and traditions really brought each location to life in a way we never could have experienced on our own. He took the time to answer all of our questions thoughtfully and made sure we were comfortable throughout the day. He navigated the city effortlessly and made sure everyone saw or found the spots they wanted to see and would never have discovered without him. The morning tour was definitely the move because everything was so calm and quiet. Takumi went above and beyond for us and it made for an awesome time. If you have the opportunity to take a tour with him, do it!
Tour guide: Hana was amazing. She had so much information to share, and she was so outgoing that we were able to learn so much about Japan andTokyo from her. She is very fun to talk to, very patient, flexible and really valued our experience. She actually stayed with us much longer than the reserved to our time even when we insisted she didn’t need to. Tour: You see so many different places on this tour so may be good complete at the very beginning of your trip so you can go back to each of these and explore them further on your own if you wanted. Definitely would recommend going back to the Asukasa area another day to see it when it is very lively and all the shops are open because there is a lot of cool places to buy fun souvenirs in the area. However, it was nice being able to get pictures of the temple without the place crowded. Price: honestly I think this is very worth the money given you see many popular sites and we learned in-depth things about each one of them becauseHana was prepared and made sure to talk about the importance and history of each place. Hana showed us great places in Tsukiji Fish market to try fun foods. This is another place. I would recommend going back to a different day after the tour to continue exploring, especially if you are a foodie. Tip: you will do a lot of walking so wear comfortable shoes and bring water. Bring a tote bag with you to hold your garbage and also store souvenirs as you collect them along the way. Again – highly recommend. Our tour guide was exceptional and we got to see so many of the popular sites in Tokyo on this tour. “Don’t check the time- just enjoy your time” -Hana
Mio provided an excellent tour of the locations and made everyone feel welcome. I enjoyed the early morning tour as there is less people than during peak hours.
Fully comprehensive, and guide was very knowledgeable and accommodating, exceptional really. Could have stayed in Tsujiki all day as everything is pretty delicious. The temple tours were well done, as we received not only the history behind the landmarks but a bit of depth into the psyche of Japan. Overall awesome experience and definitely got more than I expected, truly great, especially for the history buffs
I highly recommend Tokyo Early Morning Tour Asakusa Meiji Shrine and Tsukiji Market. Our amazing guide Hana Tanaka took us on a very informative as well as personable 6 hour tour. We started at Senso-ji temple. Hana told us the history of the place, as well as the story behind the gate that was build by the CEO of Panasonic company. She was amazing in telling us all about the praying rituals and local traditions. She was so caring and attentive. When we washed our hands at the temples she would have a towel ready for us. All this 6 hours she was caring two (!) umbrellas and on the day of the tour in early morning she texted us with the weather update and recommendations on what to wear. Then we continued at Tsukiji market. She was very attentive to our personal interests as well as adding her own recommendations on food items to try. Grilled squid was amazing! We also visited other shrines, Shibuya scramble crossing, Hachiko statue. Overall Hana was an outstanding guide and we had the best time in Tokyo!
We had a very informative guide called Hana, who was bubbly and helpful, providing us with great recommendations for places to eat. During the Asakusa night tour, she also was able to give descriptive histories of all the locations on the tour which was very interesting.
Do NOT miss this tour. Our guide, Hana, was a very knowledgeable and charming young woman who provided us with a real insiders guide to Tokyo. She spent almost six hours with us at several stops, including the Senso-ji Temple; the Meiji Temple; the Tsukiji Fish Market; and the Shibuya Crossing. All along the way, she provided what she called "fun facts" which absolutely are unavailable in a guide book. She also included history, culture, and religious philosophy of Shintoism and Buddhism . Her English is flawless and her enthusiasm is palpable. I was so happy that she encouraged me to buy a goshuin book to collect temple stamps throughout our trip in Japan. It will be my favorite souvenir and I wouldn't have known about it without her. Based on our experience with her, we will be using Guide Me Japan in Kyoto.
It was a lovely guide tour! Takumi told us a lot of interesting and fascinating facts about the gates, temples and shrines. We would have never known all these facts by ourselves, so it really added a nice touch to the experience. Thank you Takumi and GuideMeJapan!
We had a great experience with our guide Takumi. He had a lot of insights and told us facts that we had no knowledge about before! We would definitely recommend taking the tour with guidemeJapan!
We had a great time with Hana and she was very kind and helpful. She took us all the way down the street to the Asakusa shrine and explained everything very well and also in good English! 100% recommend!
A very nice and sweet girl named Hana. She gave us very interesting and helpful information about the place! Thank you so much for the good time 🫶🏽
Takumi was an amazing guide. He showed us around and gave us a lot of fun facts. I would definitely come here again and recommend this place to many others. Thank you again
Takumi is a great guide for the tour. We really enjoyed the place. We learnt a lot about the history behind the temple. I really recommend this tour a lot.
Very amazing takumi was very knowledgeable and knew so much about the temple! I highly recommend using him as your tour guide if you ever come here!
Teakumi was a great guide. Very friendly and provided lots of information! Would absolutely recommend to anyone who is looking for a tour guide while in Tokyo!
Hana came to us offering a beautiful tour, giving us a complete history class about the place. It is definitely worth it!
A really nice way to hit the highlights before it got too crowded or hot. Kouta was a great guide, answering all our questions or found the answer for us. He related well with two teenage boys which can be a challenge for anyone.
We booked this tour as an extended family many of whom were new to Japan as we thought it would be a good introduction to Tokyo. The experience totally exceeded our expectations. Our guide Hana was simply excellent. Hana could not have been more friendly or helpful throughout the tour and gave us recommendations on everything from shops at the fish market to dining options and other places to visit in Japan. It is great fun to travel around the city with a local and the experience is highly recommended.
We went on this tour because of the stunning five star reviews. And now, we can tell why its so great! This tour was amazing with our guide!
Had a fabulous experience going around Tokyo, especially Meiji Jingu and Tsukiji Market. The guide really knew how to get around.
It was my first time visiting Japan (Tokyo). Just like everyone else visiting a new country, I was scared, nervous, and worried. However, I was able to have the greatest experience with the Tokyo Early Bird tour. Even thought I was new to the Asian(Japanese) culture, I was able to fully understand the culture, history, and the language in a friendly manner.
It was our first time in Japan, actually, it was the first time in an Asian country. The guide was really nice and friendly. She made everything clear and really made the tour one of the highlights of our trip! I would recommend this to anyone who wants to discover the side of Japan.
We came with our friend groups in our college.I really enjoyed encountering the Japanese culture and the guide was really polite.
I was finally able to go to Japan for the first time! It was super fun going to Tokyo and I would like to go here again. I recommend this to everyone coming to Japan.

We had great experience during this tour. We loved to see the Tsukiji market. Asakusa was beautiful as well. Guide spoke excellent English.
I had fun with this tour. Guide was so friendly and well detailed. We had fun in Meiji Jingu, it has amazing view. I would recommend this tour to my friends.
Great experience! We had a lot of fun and enjoyed the tour! The Fish Market is kind of overwelming alone so it was good to have a guide.
Great views, amazing scenery. The Asakusa market was really cool. Really friendly tour guides I can't wait to come back.
The tour was amazing. Guide was so friendly and gave us detailed information. Our favorite was Tsukiji market. I would recommend this tour to people who want to have great experiences in Tokyo.
The experience that I had with the guide was incredible. The explanation behind Asakusa and other areas was very in detail and was able to have a fantastic time.
Awesome experience, really enjoyed it. Great guides with a lot of experience. I really enjoyed it visited with my wife.
I recently went on a sightseeing tour and had a great time. The whole experience was smooth and well organized. Our guide was friendly, knowledgeable, and spoke clear English, which made everything easy to follow. I especially enjoyed walking around Meiji shrine and taking in the atmosphere. The transportation was comfortable. If you want a stress-free way to see the highlights of the area, I’d definitely recommend this tour.
Shops are really great, so many different choices We enjoyed it really much but finally shopped too much 😱🥰😃 We will try to come back. Great was also to be protected from rain on a rainy day
Hana was a great guide. I really felt like we were being shown around Tokyo by a local friend rather than a guide service. She gave great tips on things at fish market, and excellent history and insights in to local culture. Loved the Hachiko statue, what a great story. Nice place to end tour.
Hana was a wonderful guide for our first day in Tokyo! She helped us learn how to ride the train and taught us so much about the city and its history. Our whole family enjoyed ourselves and would recommend this tour :)
I had a great time! The guides were super nice, and they listened to our needs. I visited Tokyo, Asakusa and it really was the best.
Trip was fun and informative. The guide was nice and friendly too. Was early in the morning so got to spend time enjoying the tour. Small group size made it easier to pace it to my family’s liking because we have children.
