Pierre is a good tour guide and speaks native French, good English, and improving Japanese (his own view)! He is very knowledgeable about the Tokyo Castle and is a pleasant person with whom to spend the afternoon. I recommend Pierre for your Tokyo Castle tours!
We had a wonderful tour! Grant was a great guide and very informative. We really enjoyed learning about the Imperial Palace!
We had Grant on our guided tour who was full of knowledge and kindness. Great to talk to and was willing to answer all our questions. It was just myself and my partner with Grant for the tour which made the experience special. Definitely recommend Grant for your guided tours! My wife and I were so lucky to have Yu as our tour guide! She was incredibly knowledgeable, engaging and enthusiastic. We learned an incredible amount of Japanese history and were able to see all the important sites on the grounds. This tour is definitely worth booking, you will appreciate everything so much more than just walking around. The two hours really flew by!
Mika was a really good tour guide for the imperial palace tour. She gave a lot of information about the palace and the history behind it. I loved it. Thanks!
Nicolas was a great guide - very friendly and informative with a great knowledge of Japanese history. We were 10 minutes late but great communication - thanks for a great morning.

My friend, brother and myself took this tour with Grant! We absolutely loved Grants historical recap of the imperial palace and appreciated his sense of humor too! Loved to get to know him and him give us a recap of Japanese culture and history! Highly recommend, and book with Grant!
Out guide has name Grant. Young, smart and full of charm, he opened his soul and dis a great job, telling about Imperial Pallace and what is more important telling about Japanese history. He was very king and told also about special features of Japanese culture and religion… Excellent experience. Strongly reccomend to all who will visit Tokyo.
We meet guide who was the best one that we met in the last seceral years. His name is Grant, and he did a great job: kind, nice and very smart. He gave us a lit of information about the historical site, and also about general topics like Japanese culture and life style.
Great tour. The tour guide was very accommodating, always asking if anyone has any question or if anyone is looking for recommendations while in tokyo. The lenght of the tour was good and she will give you enough time if someone from your party was running latr. Meeting point was very central and is easy to get to. Great tour for someone who want to view tokyo castle for yhr first time. Would 100% do the tour again on a sunny day.
Nico was very prepared and knowledgeable. The grounds were beautiful and the history is so interesting. Great tour!
Grant was an amazing tour guide! The tour was great, we learnt a lot about Japanese history and culture, and Grant answered all our questions. Really recommend it!
Christian was a great guide. His extensive knowledge in Japanese heritage and worldly philosophy are both impressive and engaging in one so young. (I'm 65!) Access to the palace is restricted, however the informative and easy nature of Christian's delivery made it one of the most enjoy tours I've experienced.
Mia was an excellent guide for this 2 hour walking tour of Imperial Palace Gardens. We got a good high level feel for Japanese history as it relates to the Imperial Palace. An enjoyable experience and would definitely recommend it.
Nicolas was a great and friendly guid. He explained the history very good and answered the many questions we had with a lot of patience and intrest. It was a great tour, highly recommend.
We went with Jim Allen, it was great!
Yu was an excellent tour guide, especially considering it was raining pretty good the whole time. We learned a lot about the history of Japan interwoven with lots of fun facts about the castle and grounds.
Our guide was very relaxed and knowledgeable. Was more like a walk with somone you know but they knew all about the topic.
We loved the tour! Such a great to start the day before it got too hot and humid. The tour explores the gardens, gates and part of the Imperial Palace. Our guide (Karina) was excellent. Very knowledgeable, open to questions all the time and giving us lots of interesting informations. Definitely recommended!
Our tour guide Yu took us on the tour even though it was only the two of us and it was swelteringly hot. There's lot to learn about the history of Japan's Edo period on this tour. You don't get to see the whole palace, just the area that is open to visitors, which isn't too large. The tour took about 2 hours to finish.
Grant was knowledgeable, considerate answering all questions. Very patient with eat member of the group.
Great tour, Jim. Thanks!!!!!
Jim was so much fun! He had a lot to say and was very receptive to questions and inquiries. He has a passion for history and it was evident. If you’re a history buff or love learning things you wouldn’t normally get elsewhere, this is the trip for you!
Jim did a great job explaining during the tour! You can feel that he is very passionate about history.
I had a great tour with my guide, Jim who was very knowledgeable and fun to walk around with. The length of the tour was perfect and we spent no time waiting in lines.
Jim was great, he messaged us beforehand with pictures of the meeting spot and history bullet points. During the tour, he gave us hidden clues of Japanese history and significance of different structures. Very thoughtful and charismatic!
I had such a lovely tour with Shin! He was incredibly kind, friendly, attentive and knowledgeable, and made the whole experience really enjoyable and easygoing. I learned a lot about the Imperial Palace, the shoguns and Japanese history along the way. He also was patient enough to help me take some really nice pictures, which I especially appreciated as I was travelling on my own. A great experience and a lovely way to discover this part of Tokyo. Thank you, Shin!
Corina (if I spell poorly, She's from Bulgaria!) was a fantastic guide, personable and VERY informed. She's a professional, with great education and wonderful people skills. We learned a lot about the castle and the beautiful gardens, so much more than if we had gone on our own. I would gladly tour with Corina again!
It was a very good tour and very educational, the views were beautiful and the stories were really good
Visiting the Imperial Castle was very fun and our guide was very informative on the historical significance of it's design and functionality.
Fai was the best. I learned a lot about the imperial garden history and its surrounding. Competly worthy the fee. We were just 3 people so it was smoothy the tour.
We thoroughly enjoyed our visit and were fortunate to have an exceptional guide
Very patient, accommodating, and knowledgeable. I would 100% recommend booking a tour with Jim. Deep historical, political, and cultural knowledge.
Awesome walk through the Imperial Gardens with our knowledgeable guide from the US (who has been living in Japan for 20+ years).
We had a wonderful time with Alex. He took us through the historical background of the castle. It was great. Highly recommend
Shin offered an excellent tour. He was very knowledgeable of Japanese history and gave informative details that added to experience. Great pace, even providing a few rest stops along the way.
Enjoyed this tour a lot. Our guide Shin was very knowledgeable. The tour length was just right for the sprawling grounds. I loved the gardens and the Edo castle ruins. I recommend this guide and this company!
Definitely worth the money and time! My family and I wanted to learn Japan’s history on our vacation and this walking tour was a fantastic way to do so. We had Shin as our tour guide. Shin spoke excellent English and was very knowledgeable throughout the tour.
Jim was a knowledgeable and funny guide. He explained both the history of japan, and of the imperial east garden, perfectly. We enjoyed the tour, and highly recommend it for anyone that wants to learn about Japanese culture and history.
Shin was an Incredible guide! Super knowledgeable and made the experience amazing
I had an amazing experience on the Tokyo Castle, Imperial Palace, and Shogun tour. Everything was well organized, interesting, and truly enjoyable. Our guide, Natsumi, was absolutely wonderful. She was attentive, incredibly knowledgeable, and answered every question we had with patience and enthusiasm. She made sure everyone stayed hydrated throughout the tour, and she even kindly shared her cooling mist with us, which was such a thoughtful gesture in the summer heat. She was also genuinely lovely to talk to, very well prepared, and kept everything running smoothly. Her passion and kindness made the experience even more memorable. I highly recommend this tour, especially if you’re lucky enough to have Natsumi as your guide!
