Very warm and informative Sake tasting tour! Recommended
Really enjoyable tour with a friendly and knowledgable host. All the sake I tasted was excellent.
Excellent experience, first time having sake and a very good selection to go through the different types. Great afternoon.
An amazing experience. I didn’t know I liked sake! So much to learn and Ali was an amazing host!
Great experience trying out different sake with expert
Best experience in Tokyo. Learned so much about sake. Highly recommend to anyone if you’re interested in Japanese sake!
Really great experience. The host really has a great knowledge of the different types of sake. Would recommend.
Aki was great! Offered a variety of sakes and definitely learnt a lot, overall a very fun and unique experience! I want to come back again
Great hour and an half experience with Aki! He was very informative, classy, and personable. I could not imagine a better guide through a sake experience. We originally booked a sake tasting through a different company, but they cancelled. We were disappointed, but it turned out to be the best thing that could have happened since that’s how we ended up with this amazing experience at a great price!
WHAT AN AWESOME EXPERIENCE! I thought I knew my way around sake before I came to this tour but Aki opened my eyes and palate to much much more about his country’s rice-brewed beverage. No sake tasting or experience I’ve had in the US was this detailed, educational, or delicious. Furthermore. You’ll try several sakes with Aki that you’ll never have access to back home. 100% recommend, and it’s a fine price especially if you reach out and book direct!
Great educational experience learning about how sake is made, different flavor profiles and what to look for when buying. Not to mention delicious high quality sakes! Highly recommend joining Aki for this experience.
Really enjoyed this one on one tasting session with Aki. He was punctual, friendly and really knows his Sake. While sampling a range, from dry and smooth to sweet and chilled, Aki shared his detail knowledge on all things Sake. Would highly recommend to anyone who enjoys this unique Japanese drink or wants to discover it.
The sake tasting was wonderful. As someone who enjoys fine wines and whiskeys, it was a treat to experience a different cultures delicacies. I am a very empirical person, so Akira's presentation that consisted of a variety of sales with infographics and information, was very helpful to understand the most about sakes. I plan on taking home what I learned and sharing it with friends and family, I will be seeing the guide again when I come back to Japan. I enjoyed his work so much that I booked one of the other tours he guides. Funny, intelligent, and handsome ;)
This is our second tour with Aki. We had so much fun on the food and tavern tour that we wanted to try the sake with him! Both experiences were fun and I got to try lots of different sakes and learn more.
Went to sake tasting with my daughter on her first visit to Japan. Lovely and informative experience would definitely recommend to anyone.
평소 사케에 대해 알고 싶어 도쿄 거주하는 친구와 함께 방문했습니다 전문적인 설명을 듣고 여러 사케를 시음할 수 있었습니다 매우 유익했습니다 I visited with a friend who lives in Tokyo because I wanted to learn more about sake. We were able to taste various kinds of sake while listening to professional explanations. It was very informative
We had the best time! Aki is a great guide for all things sake -- he is very knowledgable and good at sharing his expertise. We learned so much, and thoroughly enjoyed every minute! It was well worth the price -- we were very lucky that it was just the two of us.
This was a very fun and knowledgeable sake tasting! Would recommend! Was a great experience with friends and family.
Aki san was very knowledgeable on the making of nihonshu, along with the different types. He also made this experience fun learning.
Aki gavee us a very thorough overview of the different classifications of sake, tasting rankings (what all the different +/- numbers mean), along with samples of nine different brands. There was plenty to drink. Aki also happily veered off topic with us to discuss any number of questions about Japan in general. We had a great conversation and really enjoyed ourselves. At the end, we asked for a dinner recommendation. Aki called to reserve us a spot at a tiny 8-seat beef omakase restaurant run by his friend. It was tucked away on the 4th floor of a building - we would never have found it in a million years - and it was one of our favorite meals of our whole trip, for a very reasonable price. We’re still dreaming about it In all, a fantastic experience and would highly recommend. It felt like being hosted by a friend
Really fantastic experience! Aki is really friendly and was incredibly knowledgable. We learned all about how sake is produced, how to read a sake bottle and pick one based on our personal tastes. We tasted lots of different sakes, very different in flavour profile and all delicious. I would highly recommend you book this experience
This is a must do for anybody who would like to have an introduction to Japanese Sake. Aki, with a depth of experience and knowledge as well as having worked in different parts of the world is perfectly positioned to guide through a representative range of Sakes. Speaking excellent English and with a good wit he makes it a very entertaining as well as educational few hours. The first surprise for me was the sparkling sake. A revelation and a very nice surprise. Definitely worth trying if you have the opportunity. Aki then guided us through tasting 6 further sakes. Using each one to explain different elements of the production of sake. We tasted two fermented in the bottle which are only available in Japan as they have to be refrigerated and thus do not travel. With one of the sakes he enabled us to taste it at room temperature and then warmed up to understand the difference and the release of additional flavours in some sakes when warmed up. It was a very worthwhile couple of hours and Aki is a very good facilitator and guide.
Had such a nice and informative same tasting with Aki. He’s quite the entertainer, while having us learn at the same time. I was able to put what he taught us to the test at a later time!
Aki is a wealth of knowledge and I enjoyed trying the different types and styles of sake, especially those we can’t get easily in Australia! He’s a fantastic host and it was a great night. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone looking to try sake and learn a lot about it in the process.
Aki is amazing and so knowledgeable. We sampled many different sakes. As a sake lover, it was so fun to try varieties that are not available in the United States due to difficulty shipping unpasteurized sake. I loved the sake bar and enjoyed meeting the other guests as well. I would highly recommend this experience to anyone who wants to learn and drink at the same time.
I had a wonderful tour with Aki. He sure knows a lot about sake! There is a lot of information, but for those who want to do more than just drink without thought, Aki and this tour is for you.
Nice way to get to know Sake. We got good explanation of how sake is made, different qualities and so on. Absolutely worthwhile trying.
We had such a fun time learning about sake with Aki-san. We got to try so many different types of sake. He was very knowledgable and passionate!
The experience was wonderful, he was funny and interesting to listen too about it and let's you drink and enjoy the sake. I would highly recommend if you wanna try good sake and learn a good amount about it
**Fantastic Sake Tasting Experience in Japan!** I had an amazing time at the "Tasting All Types of Sake" experience in Japan. The guide was incredibly knowledgeable, explaining the brewing process, types of sake, and regional differences in a fun and engaging way. Tasting a variety of sake, from light and fruity to rich and bold, was a highlight. The guide’s passion and willingness to answer questions made the session unforgettable. Highly recommend this for anyone wanting to explore Japan's sake culture!
We loved this sake tasting, Aki was so lovely and knowledgeable. He gave great insight into the taste, process, and history of sake in Japan. The sake he chose was delicious, this experience was a great way to kick off our trip in Tokyo. Would recommend this to anyone.
Aki is great and so was the Sake! We learned and drank a lot and enjoyed his company. Hes very funny and welcoming and speaks great english. Highly recommend!
Our host, Aki- the well regarded Saki sommelier in Tokyo, was the most well informed and gracious host. The education equaled the fun! I most highly recommend this experience if you wish to get knowledge of saki and taste the differences.
Aki explained in great detail the whole world of sake, so if you are looking for an intro college level class about sake, this is your spot! Sake tasted great and was a cool atmosphere. Aki is super passionate and explains everything in great detail, and answers all your questions!
This was so fun and I learned a lot about sake! Aki was very friendly and knowledgeable throughout the whole experience. He was able to make conversation while easily explaining the sake process and types. He introduced us to sparkling sake, pasteurized, unpasteurized, and much more! Overall, I would highly recommend booking when you start your trip (if you’re over the jet lag) so you can know what to order in restaurants or buy in store. The experience is in the heart of Shinjuku, so you can shop before or afterwards! Highly recommend this experience!
The experience was great and I learned a lot. Now I know what I have to Look for when I am buying Sake. Thank you Aki.
We’ve had a fantastic time with Aki our guide who is a sommelier and well travelled guide. He was very friendly and very knowledgeable about sake and other spirits, answering all our questions and gave us tips about Japan and where to go and what to avoid. The tasting experience itself was fantastic, we appreciated every sip. We were also given a small leaflet about the process of making sake and its different types. Aki’s well rounded knowledge and funny personality made the whole experience unforgettable and I recommend this to all sake lovers!
Didn’t realize it was going to be a private tasting at a small sake bar. Learned a lot about sake. Our guide Aki was fun and very informative. Kept good communication and made sure to find us in a very busy meeting spot. The sake options were great, definitely try if you like sake and want to learn more.
Since we met on the meeting point, the guide, Akira, was extremely fun and entertaining. He made us feel comfortable right away so we felt much relaxed during the tasting. Regarding the tasting experience, first of all Akira gives you all the explanation about sake followed by the degustation. We tried a lot of varieties of sake (hot, sweet, sparkling, dry) and all of them were extremely good. Akira made all the experience super entertaining and interesting. Definitely would recommend it to people who wants to try sake for the first time.
Aki is very knowledgeable and very friendly. The sake was amazing, definitely worth a visit when you come to Japan!
it was great!! we learned a lot and the sake was delicious <3 easy to arrange as well. thank you aki! we recommend it.
We had a wonderful experience doing the sake tasting! My husband and I were the only two that signed up and we got a personal experience learning about the ins and outs of sake. Aki was a wonderful host and it was so fun tasting all different kinds of sake!
Great seminar. The guide (I'm sorry, I forgot his name) was wonderful. He is passionate & very knowledgable about sake and whiskeys, having studied them for many years. He was anxious to share that knowledge with the group. The day before our seminar he sent very detailed directions with pictures as to where to meet.
Lots of learning while having lots of fun. We had a great time and got a good grip about sake, ingredients, production, aging, market etc. Well done Aki, highly recommended.
We booked this sake adventure last minute and it was a lot of fun! Aki is a great host and very knowledgeable about sake. He explains a lot of the intricacies of what makes sakes taste so dramatically different from one another. Very interesting and useful. Be sure to have lunch first so you don’t get too wild.
Aki is excellent and made the tour very worthwhile. I recommend it, even for non-sake drinkers as the tour might convert you! There is more than enough sake to sample so don’t worry about not having enough. A perfect blend of the different styles of sake. I will go again.
Aki was incredibly knowledgeable, personable, funny, and patient with all my questions. He has an incredible life story and I recommend his tour 100%! Looking forward to the whiskey one: thanks Aki!
Aki knows his stuff when it comes to sake, whiskey and wine. He taught us a lot about sake, how it’s made, why the different tastes and how to drink and enjoy sake. A fun afternoon and met some new friends. The party didn’t stop after the tour ended!
Aki was a great guide with a so much knowledge on Sake. We learnt so much about how it’s made and had a great time at the tasting!
