Small Group Tour Mount Fuji And Lake Kawaguchi From Tokyo

Great small group tour! Jiro, our guide, is super knowledgeable and a fun guide! We were able to see the sights in an efficient manner. And we were lucky - no clouds obscuring our views!

It was a great first day immersion into Tokyo. Mateo our guide was fantastic. He was easy going, flexible to our needs and knowledgeable. His pace was perfect for us 70's+ year olds and his speaking tone and volume was modulated for those with poor hearing. Our driver was very helpful as well and navigated the busy streets reminiscent of our driving days in NYC. We would love to go out again for this guide/driver team

Today my group was in Tokyo for the first time, with a bus and our tour guide Matteo. He was a marvel for the whole day. His big smile and warm demeanor guided us for over seven hours. We are a large group of seasoned travelers with lots of physical issues and he managed to keep us moving, happy and well informed throughout the day. That was impressive.

We had a great time on this tour and despite a substantial amount of traffic we still managed to see a lot of great views of Fuji. Our guide could have communicated better about the itinerary and also give some additional information about the area. I still enjoyed the trip!

The guide Mateo was informative, polite, very knowledgeable, kind, and patient. I would highly highly recommend booking with this as we loved it! The driver was equally great.

The tour was well planned and executed. Pickup through Tourist Japan required some clarification to the exact spot, but was easy once I arrived, with the transport van arriving on time and all persons in the group present. Time to Mt. Fuji was about 90 minutes, stopping at a local spot at Lake Kawaguchi, with an ice cream shop with local flavors, a souvenir shop, and a wonderful, walkable garden to the lake's edge. Cloud cover obscures much of Mt. Fuji, but the clouds shifted during the trip to get a full view of he summit while in the area. We also visited Fujiyoshida, with the iconic view of its pagoda with Mt. Fuji in the background, had lunch at nice restaurant with my first experience eating Wagyu Beef, and ended the trip in Oshino Hakkai and the 8 sacred ponds. Everyone enjoyed the trip, with an easy activity level with the most strenuous trek up Fujiyoshida, allowing visitors to use either the switchback trail or steps to the observation deck. It was a nice break from the hectic pace of the city to see some of the natural areas surrounding Tokyo.

Wonderful day tour to several stunning sights. The ice cream with views of Mount Fuji was a highlight! Our tour guide, Sofia, was so friendly, patient and kind. Seeing the mountain is not a guarantee due to the weather, but the surrounding area is beautiful and well worth it!

Do not book this tour. Everything in the explanation was a lie. We had 3 stops that totaled 2 1/2 hours. Today is a holiday -Silver Week. There never should have been tours available on this day. We were informed the night before that we were leaving 1 hour early. Meet at 6:50 am. The operator lied and said they're was a typo in the description and when I complained, they later admitted that the time change was because of a national holiday. By the time they told us this, it was too late to cancel. We had a 4 hour drive to get to the 1st stop and at least 4 hours to get back to the meeting spot. So far we have been in this van 12 hours and we are not back at the meeting spot. The only highlight was the guide. Sofia was kind and knowledgeable. She was very sympathetic to the description not matching the tour at all. The 5th station is closed at this time of year. That was the only reason we booked this tour. That could be noted in the description. We enjoyed the brief stops and the weather was great. You do not go on the mountain or even near it. You are lucky if you see the mountain top in the distance due to weather and clouds. We were lucky enough to see it. We travel the world and this is the worst tour we have experienced. Do not book this tour!

Pickup was very early due to bad weather, still we didn’t see mt Fuji due to the heavy rain. The tour should have been cancelled since the whole point is to see the mountain. We sat in the car most of the time and even at the stops we didn’t get much information on the spots. For lunch the driver took us to a place he suggested but it was average quality and very expensive and accepted cash only. We only saw tourists there. The driver himself didn’t eat there…. In general underwhelming experience. Only advisable if the weather is clear. And don’t trust your driver/tour leader if they suggest this restaurant: 八海櫻

Sofia was the best guide ever!! So friendly, kind as well as knowledgeable!! She led us to the lake for our first glimpse of Mt Fuji, impressing upon us that seeing any part of it was good fortune. Our day was so beautiful and sunny that we were lucky indeed as we saw even the top! And having Sofia made it even better and memorable! This tour is a MUST if ever you are in Tokyo!

Sofia is an amazing guide, taking us to Lake Kawaguchi, Mount Fuji, and Oshino Hatai. Lunch was excellent with my option for the grilled meat and eel. Highly recommended activity!

Weather did not allow view of Mt Fuji. Went to World Heritage Centre due to rain. Visited the shrine. Overall a good tour. The guide made it an enjoyable day despite the weather.

Our experience with this service was quite excellent, and our guide, Sofia, had outstanding patience and interpersonal skills. She ensured we were comfortable and encouraged our questions and interactions. We laughed a lot and her language skills were phenomenal! They will be our "go-to" guide service from now on!

We enjoyed our tour of Nikko. Our guide was very friendly. The ride out was a bit long but the countryside was nice to see. It was definitely busy with many other tourists but it was fairly easy to navigate. There are stairs to climb to get to the shrines so be aware. It was humid but there was a nice breeze so it wasn’t too bad.

We had a wonderful experience! Everything was very well organized and the meeting point was clear and easy to find. The stops were breathtaking and offered the best views of Mount Fuji. The lunch was delicious and the drive was comfortable. A special thanks to our guide, Sofia, who created such a fun and positive atmosphere throughout the day. Highly recommended!

Our guide Sofia was wonderful, smart, funny and very professional. She made sure everyone felt well and she answered all the questions. She knew a lot of facts about different places and was very knowledgeable.

We were advised of a late amendment for the meeting point which turned out to be the wrong place. However, Sofia phoned us & patiently called us on the phone to give us directions so that we were able to meet up & go on the tour. Fantastic experience with Sofia, our tour guide, taking us to Mount Fuji. We began with gardens with a beautiful view of Mount Fuji. We had time to look around, smell the lavender and briefly shop in the gift shop. Second stop we went to Fuji pergola which had excellent views of Mount Fuji. Both of these two trips were sensational. Afterwards we had a lovely lunch which Sofia suggested and onto the last stop of visiting ponds of Fuji Shibokusa which was lovely. No admission fees during this time of year (potentially not at all). Sofia mentioned during the cherry blossom season wait times can be upto 2 hours. Crowds were fortunately very small and not dense however it appears to increase over the duration of the day. This tour was suitable for everyone however reaching the Pegola is tough with many steep steps.

Amazing first day in Japan, visiting all the viewing and cultural hotspots around Mount Fuji. Unfortunately it was cloudy and we couldn't see Mt Fuji, but the gardens around Lake Kawaguchi were beautiful. We really enjoyed the Chureito Pagoda and shrines in the forest. We stopped off at Oshino Hakkai to see the stunning crystal clear waters and water wheels. It had lovely old buildings and street food style markets. We had a really great time and really valued having a private tour take us between all these places

We travelled with our tour guide Sofia to Nikko. Unfortunately it was rainy which brought down the experience. The length of the trip was probably ideal, 10 hours. The stops except Toshogu shrine and lunch were hasty, but that is what the schedule allowed given that 5 hours were spent on transportation back and forth. Sofia is very friendly and helpful, and she managed to make the whole tour group get to know each other. Maybe I would have appreciated more narration about history and sights from the tour.

Tomoko was very lovely and kind, but not very informative. We were hoping to learn more about Fuji and the places that we visited. We were also disappointed that Mount Fuji stayed hidden in the clouds, but I know that there is no way to control for that…

I was lucky to tour with a great group of people. Sofia was well informed, and took time to get to know everyone in the group as we walked through the springs, up mount Fuji, and drive through cute neighborhoods. Everything was inexpensive, and locals were so kind.
