It’s an hour drive, it’s very safe, and scenic. Daniel and other tour guides ensure we don’t get split up. Karts are easy to use and understand. It can get windy and a bit chilly in early November.

I want to start this review by saying this is not an attack on the tour guide who did the experience with us. If not for his calm nature and decision making things could have taken a much more dramatic turn which could have resulted in serious injury or worse. With the go karts we got headsets to communicate with each other. We heard in the headset that one of that karts had stopped accelerating and powered down completely in the middle of moving traffic. We had to pull over to the side and thankfully the guide was able to go back and get the woman to safety. It was also very lucky that no other road users were injured and no accident was caused. I must reiterate. The kart stopped dead in the road. It was not moving. In Tokyo traffic. We waited around 40 minutes for another kart to arrive and we continued the tour. My partner and i had another experience planned after this and left sufficient time, so the 40 minute delay threw our plans off slightly but not completely. However, as i was driving i saw a piece of metal fly off one of the cars in front of me. I reported this on the headset and we had to stop again, and retrieve the circular metal piece that had fallen off the kart. After that delay we then carried on driving and then we noticed smoke coming out of one of the karts. It got so bad that the thick black smoke made us all stop again. We had to wait for another person from the company to come and collect the kart and 1 person was unable to continue driving due to losing now 2 karts on 1 tour. We finished the experience 2 hours late from the delays, thus subsequently missing our next experience. We didnt have time to complain for a refund as we had to try our best to get to our next destination. I applied for a refund today however this was rejected by the tour operator, so i feel obliged to share this story and advise others to avoid booking with this company. It is appaling that they believe that this experience was a true reflection of what we paid for, and have no shame in not refunding us. Because of them we had a terrible experience and we missed our next experience, a double whammy and money down the drain. So my advice to you reading this, yes there are many positive reviews but go elsewhere. They were lucky, but you could be in our shoes, or worse. My biggest complaint bar not getting a refund, is to those who maintain the karts. You put all of our lives in danger when you do not do your job. You make us pay extra for insurance at the start in case we damage the karts. But for you to not adequately maintain the karts so that they are safe for customer use, putting our lives at risk, is 100% not ok.
We feel we lucked out booking with Kart Zilla. Our tour guides Ken and Issac were great, they kept safety a priority while keeping the tour fun and informative. They also did a good job taking photos of us throughout the tour. The karts seemed new and well equipped including rear view cameras. Would absolutely recommend.
This Go Kart tour was so much fun! An amazing way to see the whole city. Our guide Satar was very knowledgeable and easy to follow! He also stopped multiple times to take great photos of us. I was hesitant at first that the go karts would be scary or hard to use, but once we started it was very easy. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Japan!

Go Karts were sturdy and we wore headsets for communicating, felt very safe. Fantastic fun, very exhilarating driving thru the streets of Tokyo. We were a group of 6 and they had overbooked the session so two of our group did not get to drive the Go Karts, this was very disappointing but did offer refunds. But this was an amazing experience that we won’t forget!
This was a 10 out of 10 experience!! Worth every dollar, don't leave Tokyo without booking with this company. The go carts were extremely nice, the guides were a delight and Josie in the office was just as sweet.

We did the Kira Kira Tokyo Go-Cart tour. It was so much fun! I would highly recommend it to anyone wanting a unique way to experience Tokyo. I wanted something fun for my husband and I to do this trip, that was a bit challenging. This experience was great. After the first 10 minutes I relaxed and felt reasonably comfortable driving on the streets of Tokyo with Mike’s able crew. The tour was interesting and exhilarating. We highly recommend it!
Ren was an amazing guide!! We had so much fun! We overbooked ourselves for the day and with traffic, we might not have made our next event, but Ren and Ken rearranged our route to allow us more time to get to our other reservation!!! The tour ended up being just me, my husband, and Ren! Talk about private tour! Haha. We had so much fun and saw a LOT! Ren stopped to take fun photos of us along the way. 5⭐️ For sure! Thank you!

This was such a cool experience. The host texted us on WhatsApp to keep us updated with the weather and help us with directions getting there from the train station. Very accommodating and gave free costumes to wear around shibuya while we go-karted. So much fun and so cool to be in the real street! Ken, our guide also took a ton of photos and sent them to us afterwards!
Such a great tour. We had so much fun getting to experience driving around Tokyo. We got up close to Tokyo Tower and got to drive through the famous Shibuya Crossing. Our guide did a great job keeping us together and safe as a group and took tons of memorable pictures! Definitely a must do when you are in Tokyo!

Absolutely fantastic experience driving through the streets of Tokyo for 2 hours it was such an adrenaline rush, tour guides were all very helpful and made us feel extremely safe whilst travelling through the city, Shibuya crossing was the highlight for us. The karts are big so you don’t feel so small next to traffic. We did the late afternoon tour sun was just going down it was pretty cool we wanted to go again straight away. 5 stars 🌟

The Mario Kart experience was absolutely awesome and one of the the highlights of our trip! Driving through the city while dressed up and taking in all the sights was such a unique and exciting experience. The entire tour was well organized, safe, and so much fun from beginning to end. My group of 10 and I had such a blast! The hosts were MORE than accommodating for my large group so that we could all go together. Our guides were awesome and 10 out of 10 recommend!
This was hands down one of the best parts of our trip! I normally don't really like GoKarts because you're just driving in a circle on a racetrack, but this was amazing! It was crazy seeing the city, driving among the cars and the guide made it so fun with the route we took, music he played and the constant photos he took! We had over 300 photos! Must do!
Total incompetence from the staff from the get-go. The group ahead of us had to spend nearly 20 minutes waiting for their group leader try to start a malfunctioning lead cart — rather than him simply swapping it out — while exhaust fumes built up inside the enclosed space. People were choking and eyes were watering. An unhealthy 20 minutes I’ll never get back. The staff’s only apparent priority was collecting payment and getting bodies on carts. We were rushed through signing a waiver with no real explanation of what we were agreeing to. To make it worse, the racing suit I wore was returned directly to the rack — unwashed. That means every suit on that rack has been worn by prior customers without being laundered. A hygiene problem they don’t seem concerned about. Given the price — which was steep — there is simply no excuse for any of this. Save your money. There are better go-kart operations out there, likely at a fraction of the cost.

I did the late night ride and it was the best part of my trip! We hit high speeds and got to go through most Tokyo landmarks - my fav part was going through shibuya crossing!
This was super fun ! We were zooming through shibuya and our instructor, Ken, made it SUPER entertaining. He was funny and took so many wonderful pictures. The night tour was great too because there was less traffic ! Would 100000% do this again. Definitely worth the money. The costumes made it extra fun too ! Make sure you ask for Ken !!!!!

We were a group of 8. 4 couples. Celebrating one of our friends 60th. Due to safety we were asked to split into 2 groups which was fine. We all choice our fancy dress. Our driving paperwork was checked. We were offered lockers to store any valuables then we watched the safety video which was easy to watch & clear. Next we had a demonstration of how to drive the Go Kart. And what not to do. Again explained so we understood. The Go Karts were lined in 2s, Ken gave us instructions for when we were driving. Signals for when we stood move into single file, when & who moved forward and how to drop back. Ken our instructor led us out one by one. Then we moved into 2 ×2 following him. We booked 8pm to drive so we could see everything lit up. This was definitely the right choice. The drive was, fun, exhilarating & a thrill. And I was a bit nervous. Ken constantly kept a check on the 4 of us regularly signalling or calling instructions. He took loads of photos of the four of us. At times he speeded up and we went up to 50mph. We drove through the Shibuya crossing which was fantastic. Lots if people were taking photos of us as we slowed down at the lights. Ken even took photos of us as a group before we started out. Which is a great memory of such a fun activity. All the guys were friendly and helpful. We all had a complete blast & loved it!! It is very windy, so maybe wear a hat, tie your hair back? And there can be fumes so some might want to wear a face mask. Would highly recommend this activity.
