This was hands down one of the coolest things we have EVER done! 😍🔥 We spent three amazing hours drifting, from 9 AM to 12 PM, and it was SO MUCH FUN! We got to try so much, learned a ton, and by the end, we actually started getting pretty good at it! 😎🏎️ The entire experience was fantastic from beginning to end. We were picked up directly from our hotel by the sweetest driver, who took us to the track. When we arrived, we were welcomed by even more incredibly kind, friendly, and passionate people! You can really tell that these guys LIVE AND BREATHE drifting! Their passion for what they do is contagious, and all they care about is making sure everyone has the absolute best experience possible. And WOW, did they deliver! ❤️ We even got an awesome drifting demonstration from the professionals, showing us how it's REALLY done! 🔥 It was absolutely insane to watch! The atmosphere, the people, the cars, the adrenaline – EVERYTHING was just perfect! If we ever return to Japan, there is absolutely NO DOUBT that we will be coming back for another round! Incredible time. Family with 3 boys who love cars. Everyone had ample time to drive. The team was awesome. I really cannot recommend this experience enough. If you have boys who love cars - beyond just looking at them - this is a must. It’s a perfect way to compliment a day if you are also going to the car meet at night.

If you've ever had any interest in drifting, you can't miss out on this experience. Only an hour outside of Tokyo and reasonably priced, the Matenro crew had me and my 77 year old father in law doing continuous drifting donuts in only a few hours of a private lesson. We're both car enthusiasts with a little bit of track experience but the instruction is so good even a beginner can learn the basics of drifting pretty quickly. The staff is super friendly, they take safety seriously, and the location is beautiful! We'll be back next visit to try the intermediate class for sure.

Coming to a country where you don’t know the language and trying something you’ve only seen in movies can feel overwhelming, but the Matenro team made everything incredibly easy from the very beginning. They contacted me right after booking, coordinated pickup directly from my hotel, and took me straight to the practice circuit with zero stress. Once there, the entire team was amazing, professional, welcoming, and extremely experienced. The experience felt completely safe at all times. They explain every step clearly, let you practice hands-on, and give you real, actionable feedback after every run so you can improve right away. I had an amazing time at Matenro Drift! From start to finish, the entire experience was seamless and exciting. Takeshi was fantastic - keeping me informed throughout the entire process, answering all my questions, and made everything super easy. He even picked me up and dropped me off at my hotel, which made the day completely stress-free. The drift lesson itself was unreal. My instructor, Ross, was extremely skilled and an excellent coach, and the lesson was tailored to my ability - the session is based on skill level, helping you to progress quickly while still feeling comfortable and in control. His guidance really helped me understand the techniques and build confidence and skill with every go. I had an awesome time and would absolutely recommend this to anyone considering it! I’m already looking forward to coming back for another session. A must-do for any motorsport or drift enthusiast!

We we're picked up in our hotel and brought to the track. After a short drive our lesson started. Over the next hours, we'd learn the basics of drifting. The instructors we're great and knowledgable. If you're any bit interested in cars, this is a great experience.

I really can’t say enough about Matenro Racing. Takeshi is absolutely awesome! I signed up for the drift lessons and he told me about the other experiences he offered like going to Mt Fuji speedway and driving the Supra around the track, and gave me a discount for booking both!! I couldn’t be more grateful for his services. Driving around the track at Mt. Fuji was absolutely surreal and one of his drivers named Toshi made the experience so memorable and fun!! And don’t get me started on how awesome the drifting lessons were. It was absolutely next level. Russ and Scott were some of the instructors and they were so fun to work with and learn from! I left that day feeling like a drift master lol!! All in all it was so worth it for all of Takeshi’s services. He is such a nice guy and really genuinely wants to see you have a great time with these experiences. He makes you feel like family!! And his police Skyline is awesome too LOL!

Did not know about this activity until my aussie friend came and introduce to me. Had the best time of my life. The best part is that it was booked at the last minute and Takeshi managed to squeeze his holiday and organised one for us. We have the whole place for ourselves and the price is as published. Our instructor, Ross was amazing guy. He show is the real drifting skill. The western way of using brake stick but this is a proper Japanese OG drifting way. Great experience. I shared this with my work colleague and organised another one which I will review more

This was by far our favorite experience that we booked while in Tokyo. Takeshi, Ross, and Saka San are pure professionals and make this an unforgettable experience. The pictures, videos, memories, and stories will last a life time. Imagine being taught how to drift, by professionals, in Tokyo, with everything taken care of in advance by Matenro. For quick reference, here's what you can expect: - Takeshi will pick you up from your hotel - don't worry about booking travel - Show up at a literal drift playground and learn to drift cars like a Mazda MX5 and Nissan Z Fair Lady - Language barriers don't exist - Takeshi speaks perfect English so if you're from the US, like us, and speak very little Japenese, have no fear! - Immediately start driving as soon as you get there. - these are right hand drive manual transmission cars. I haven't driven a manual in almost 20 years and only stalled maybe 3-4 times in a 4 hour lesson. - Aside from the fun of learning how to drift, the videos and pictures we shared with our family had their jaws hitting the floor - Ross and Saka San are pro drivers and teachers. They will ensure that you walk away knowing how to drift and will be your biggest fans once you get it. - After the lesson and driving, Takeshi drives you back to your hotel. You literally just have to show up and have a good time - the guys at Matenro take care of everything else. Overall - this is the Tokyo experience you want. Trust me, it's worth every penny!

Had an awesome time! They walk you through everything step by step. I was a beginner and by the end I could do donuts and even started on figure 8s. If you already have some experience, they’ll teach more advanced stuff like e-brake entries. I got to drive a Nissan 350Z, but they have a few different JDM cars depending on the day. Also, they have this undercover cop car setup Skyline G35 for a fun little “police chase” at the end. If you’re into drifting or just want to try something unique in Japan, definitely check them out. Or if you want to live out your Fast and Furious dreams go for it haha

If you're a fan of the Fast and Furious films, this is for you. I've owned many JDMs over the years, but never drove my cars like this. I owned a 1990 Miata NA, so it was a joy to drive a Miata again after so many years. With the support and patience of the crew, my wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our day as "racers". 🤣 JUST DO IT...you'll have fun.

What a great experience ! I’ve learn to do some donuts, reverse donuts with a miata and side break with a 350z and it was super cool. The teachers make you comfortable, explain and show you all the tricks and if you’re block or something they use that special language that only boys can understand. For my last day in Japan, it was perfect !

I had an incredible experience with Matenro Drift Racing at the Miami China Circuit, where I took a private drift lesson with coach Rosutaru. Over the course of around 6 hours of drifting, Rosutaru guided me through a progressive training plan aimed at mastering the challenging “Graduation” Course—packed with sweepers, hairpins, and technical transitions. Starting from simpler layouts, we gradually built up the difficulty, focusing on techniques like weight transfer, clutch kicks, and handbrake entries. Rosutaru’s coaching was sharp and methodical—he spotted every detail and helped me fine-tune each movement for smoother, more controlled drifts. He also shared stories from his early days of street drifting, adding depth and character to the session. Huge thanks to Matenro Drift Racing for organizing such a high-level experience. I left the track with real improvement, new insights, and a ton of motivation for the next session.

Very memorable experience with great teachers. Thanks to their one on one instructing, we were able to pick up on the techniques quick. I would definitely recommend this to anyone visiting Japan and wanting to learn how to drift as this course is very informative and helpful.

The whole experience was amazing. Takeshi picked us up on time and made sure we were comfortable before starting the lesson. The drift king was super patient and by the end of the lesson I had a good understanding of how to control the car. One of a kind experience and would recommend even if you are not into drifting. My girlfriend who has limited experience with manual cars was able to do some spins!

This was my first time trying drift, and it was an incredible experience! Takeshi and the team were super friendly and knowledgeable, they hold so much love for the sport and it shows. Not only did I learn about drifting and the car, but also about Japanese culture and a bunch of other interesting things. It was raining hard the day I went, which made it a bit tougher to drift, but we still managed to get through the lesson, and it was a blast! Takeshi's English is excellent, and while the rest of the team speaks limited English, they use gestures effectively, making it easy to understand and learn. It shows they’re great teachers! In the end I left with a huge smile, amazing memories, and awesome videos. I can’t wait to continue lessons the next time I visit Japan!

The trip with Takeshi was absolutely superbly organized. The event was held in a small group where there was enough time for everyone. We were picked up at the hotel by prior arrangement. You can get snacks on site. Drinks machine, toilet and drift thrills can be found on site. Recommended for car lovers and the scene. People who can't drift can stand on the sidelines and take videos

We had plenty of time behind the wheel to really master the art of drifting. The tips and techniques they taught us were invaluable, and I felt my confidence grow with every lap. By the end of the day, I was pulling off drifts I never thought I’d be able to do! What really stood out to me was how much fun the whole experience was. The adrenaline rush, the screeching tires, and the camaraderie with the other participants made it truly unforgettable. It's a truly unique experience! What a pleasure to receive advice from enthusiasts of the discipline, with iconic JDM drift cars at our disposal! My friend and I were able to get initiated into this discipline by learning the 'donut' and all the subtleties of driving it involves.
