Our driver, Ali was very knowledgeable, patient, and friendly. He tailored the trip based on our interests and also showed us a great lunch spot that we would not have found on our own. He dropped us off at the entrance to the sites and picked us up as soon as we were ready to go to the next site. At one site, we didn’t have Japanese yen, so Ali covered for us so we wouldn’t miss out on the experience, and we reimbursed him after we had an opportunity to go to an ATM. We appreciated Ali driving us to many places as the time allowed. Thanks for an amazing tour!

More than 30 million people visit Sensoji Temple every year from both Japan and abroad. Built in 628, it is the oldest temple in Tokyo. The most representative gate of Asakusa is the Kaminarimon Gate. In Asakusa, it is common to ride a rickshaw around the famous places, so you can see rickshaws all over the town. At Nakamise-dori, the approach to the main road, you can buy souvenirs filled with Japanese culture, such as Japanese sweets and tea.
Tokyo Skytree opened on May 22, 2012 and is the tallest tower in Japan, standing 634 meters tall. The name comes from the idea that a city that is friendly to both people and the environment will be born under a tower that resembles a large tree reaching into the sky. The exterior was created with traditional Japanese architectural design in mind, and uses the traditional Japanese color indigo (a white with a slight bluish tint).
Fukagawa Fudodo is a temple that has survived the Great Kanto Earthquake and World War II. The former main hall is the oldest wooden building in Tokyo and is a designated registered cultural property of Koto Ward. Prayers are held in the new main hall five times a day, every two hours from 9:00 to 17:00, and anyone is welcome to attend.
Tsukiji is a historic district in central Tokyo, best known for its vibrant market culture and culinary heritage. While the inner wholesale market moved to Toyosu in 2018, the outer market remains a bustling hub of activity, filled with small shops, street food stalls, and traditional restaurants. Visitors can sample fresh sushi, grilled seafood, tamagoyaki (Japanese omelet), and other local specialties as they explore the narrow alleyways. The area also offers a glimpse into Tokyo’s food culture and the daily lives of local vendors. With its lively atmosphere and authentic charm, Tsukiji is a must-visit for food lovers and cultural explorers alike.
The Imperial Palace is the official residence of the Emperor and serves as the stage for national ceremonies. In 1868, Emperor Meiji traveled from Kyoto to Tokyo, and successive emperors have lived in the Imperial Palace ever since. The gardens and buildings surrounding the Imperial Palace reflect the beauty of Japanese tradition and nature, attracting many visitors throughout the year.
Meiji Shrine is a shrine dedicated to Emperor Meiji and Empress Shoken. Located in the heart of Tokyo, this shrine is surrounded by lush nature and is known as one of the largest shrines in Japan. The 12-meter-tall torii gate is the largest in Japan and is an important landmark that leaves a special impression on visitors. Meiji Shrine is also known as the shrine for matchmaking, and many visitors come to pray for success in love and good relationships.
Harajuku is the epicenter of kawaii culture, and Takeshita Street is the place where you can feel it most strongly. There are plenty of pop and colorful Kawaii shops selling trendy sweets, fashion, cosmetics, and more that are perfect for Instagram. Even if you don't find anything you want, the charm of the street is that it's fun just to look around.
Shibuya Scramble Crossing is often said to be the busiest crosswalk in the world, with over 2,000 people crossing at once. This intersection is also famous as the filming location for the car chase in Fast & Furious X3. There are many cafes in the area that offer views of the scramble crossing. Hachiko statue is a well-known landmark that is one of the most popular meeting places in Shibuya. Hachiko was a dog that waited for his owner at Shibuya Station every day even after his owner’s death. Hachiko Statue is located in front of Hachiko Exit at Shibuya station.
At 333 meters tall, it is the second tallest building in Japan after Tokyo Skytree. This iconic red-and-white structure is inspired by the Eiffel Tower and has been a beloved landmark since its completion in 1958. Visitors can enjoy panoramic views from the Main Deck and the higher Top Deck, especially during sunset or at night when the city lights sparkle. The tower also features FootTown, a multi-story building at its base with shops, restaurants, and museums. Blending retro charm with modern appeal, Tokyo Tower remains one of the city’s most recognizable and nostalgic attractions.
Odaiba is an artificial island built in Tokyo Bay, and is a seaside subcenter with various facilities.Rainbow Bridge was opened in 1993 and is a bridge connecting Shibaura, Minato-ku and Daiba district. Michael was an excellent guide and driver.
Ali was awesome, very polite, friendly and informative! I highly recommended this tour and to go with Ali.
This was a very convenient way to see all the sights of Tokyo. Tony was a great guide. He took us to all the sights and explained their significance. Having a car was great. We couldn’t imagine taking the subway all around the city. This was the way to do it. It was raining for part of the day so we are very happy we could have a car. Highly recommend this tour and our guide Tony!!
The driver Michael was amazing and very helpful on or tour . Would do it again .
We had only one day to spend in Tokyo due to schedule constraints, so we signed up for the one day customizable tour with Japonica Travel. Our guide, Ali, was great. He listened to our requests and totally redid our itinerary to accommodate us. We had a wonderful day and saw more of Tokyo than we expected. A full but satisfying day.
The tour was a relief it was easy to follow the guide in different stops explaining all major trends in simple way for visitors.
Michael was super kind as our personal chauffeur. It wasn’t a private tour so much as he personally drove us everywhere, front door access to everything. Super friendly and knowledgeable!!
Very knowledgable and hospitable guide who has been very helpful in our Tokyo 1 day tour
Our full day tour of Tokyo was an overwhelming success. Our guide Kemal was knowledgable and friendly, not to mention super helpful and flexible to make the tour everything we could ask for. I would hire him again, in a minute. We was a consummate professional and made our day a great introduction to the history and culture of Tokyo.
Our driver, Jonny, took us everywhere we wanted to go, including Mega Donki, the Harry Potter store, and the Nintendo store. He was able to find close parking and waited patiently at each stop. He gave us time estimates and traffic updates throughout the day. It was a low stress, fun day!
Amazing! Everything was so beautiful. Are Michael was excellent and very helpful and on time with picking us up . We do this again on my next trip
Our Guide Kamal from Uzbekistan was very friendly - he spoke good english and know a lot about Tokyo where he had lives for 12 years. He suggested some stops and we adjusted a bit during the day. Up to us how long time we stayed at each stop - he was at any time available and ready to take us to next stop.
He didn’t know names of rivers or names of buildings. He was sweet and kind but not knowledgeable. We asked to return to hotel after 4 1/2 hours. Definitely not worth the money..
I would highly recommend booking with this company. The guide was friendly, knowledgeable and his English is excellent.
Ali our guide was simply amazing. He is a fantastic representation of Japan, very courteous , helpful, and knowledgeable. His introduction of the various places he took us made the visit to Tokyo even more memorable.
Michael is a fantastic driver. We got to see all of the highlights of Tokyo in a timely manner . Great day!
Wow! What a fantastic day of touring Tokyo!!! Our driver/guide, Tony was excellent. He was knowledgeable, personable , and professional. Tony provided a wonderful tour of each Ward in Tokyo…just what we were looking for. It was a pleasure sharing the day experiencing the wonderful city of Tokyo! I highly recommend this tour with Tony! He recommended the best place for an authentic and delicious Sushi lunch at a place where most locals eat. Today’s tour of Tokyo is a highlight of our trip.
We had an accommodating driver very nice driver. listen to what we wanted to see and we enjoyed the trip
Our day with Ali was one of the highlights of our trip to Tokyo. Being driven around by him was a comfortable and relaxed way to see some of the city’s top sights without worrying about trains or directions. By the end of the tour he felt less like a driver and more like a friend showing us around his city.
Our guide Kemal was very professional and gave insights on where we were going, gave us enough time at each stop. Never rushing and always asking if there was something else we wanted to see.
Itinerary included a lot of places we wanted to see Our driver Kemal was very patient with us and gave us enough time in each of the stops. We didn’t feel rushed at all.
The private tour allowed us to go at our own pace. But to hit the key places, we still had to keep moving.
Top-tier professionalism, immaculate vehicles, and world-class hospitality. Our driver was punctual, courteous, and navigated Japan’s routes with ease, allowing us to enjoy our tailored itinerary in total comfort. It completely elevated our travel experience. Highly recommended for anyone looking for reliable luxury transport in Japan!
Trip was a great overview of many sights in Tokyo. David was an excellent, knowledgeable guide and kept our tour on track. We were able to visit many attractions without having to worry about how to get there etc. Well worth the money. Thanks for the great day!
Driver Guide Michael was on time, friendly and helpful at every step. As senior travelers we appreciated his patience and suggestions. Getting us to Mt Fuji viewpoint of Oishi Park *early* avoided crowds and later rain. We were able to get lovely photos of the icon, with the shining lake and flower garden in the foreground. Going on we went to Nemba Village heritage site that showcases ancient history - thatched roofs, artifacts, and arts and crafts such as pottery and silk. Don't miss the new Arts and Crafts Gallery supporting women artists, curated by owner Tami, with affordable prices. We had visited several shrines previously and next stop Kitaguchi Hongu Fuji Sengen Shrine is our favorite. The gorgeous old forest path lined with moss covered stone lanterns was soul refreshing, and photos of the exiting wedding party in traditional attire was a bonus. Not wanting to walk in the rain back in Tokyo, Michael improvised a driving trip around the Imperial Palace Gardens that gave us the satisfaction of seeing what we were able. A quick look at the famous Ginza shopping area and we returned to our hotel in time to plan an early dinner. A great day, comfortable car, and our thanks to Michael for all his consideration.
Michael, pick us up at our hotel at 6:30 am and took us to see and visit Mt Fuji and it's region. He suggested we go early in the morning to beat the crowds and get the best possible views. He was so right. We got some great photos of the area. Mt. FUJI top was covered in clouds but still beautiful photos. Also the flowers were incredible. Next he took us to the village of Menba. Full of small huts with many different crafts people. A beautiful art and crafts shop.Next we went to oldest Shrine OISHIR with incredible trees and pathways. Very peaceful . This shrine was first constructed in the EDO period back in the 800's. One of our favorite shrines in all if visist to Japan. Michael,s knowledge was fantastic.and made our trip so perfect. He finish our day with a drive by of the Imperial Palace and the famous shopping district of GINZA. He is an excellent driver and guide to make your experience very memorable!
It was very good and the drivers were also very good and I would say the best experience I have ever had
Michael, greeted us at the cruise terminal on time and communicated very well with us. We needed to make a stop before going on the tour. He was very accommodating to our needs. We decided on fewer sites since we were tired . So he drop us off at our hotel about 3:30pm. Strongly recommend your service and the nice car provided.
Very pleased with the tour. Our guide, David was excellent in every way!
Good job David! Nice weather on that day,
Tony gave us a great personal tour of Toyko. We saw all the places we wanted to see, and learned a lot of history too. We had a great lunch at the fish market, and saw wonderful sites.
We never thought we will be able to do 11 stops in 9 hours .he did just perfect job with his fluent english and clean minj van .
What a great day! Our guide Tony was very knowledgeable and charasematic. I can’t believe how much we saw in one day!
Excellent driver. Prompt. Friendly. Clearly knew the city. He let me create the itinerary I wanted. Clean car. All you can ask for.
Adib was a good driver. There was some circumstances beyond his control, but he provided good communication and made sure we were taken care of throughout the experience. He went out of his way to return some of our items left in the vehicle at the end.
David was an amazing tour guide! Very knowledgeable, kind, and clear in his communication. The pick ups and drop offs were very smooth.
ASI is a great guide, filled with knowledge of the city and open to our suggestions in the itinerary. Highly recommend .

The city tour was really good and fully customisable even on the day. We could see everything we wanted to and downs more or less time as required. Ali was a brilliant guide and couldn't recommend him any higher. He was knowledgeable and a great driver and fully flexible for our needs

We were so pleased we booked this experience to explore the iconic landmarks in Tokyo for the day before joining a cruise. Our driver was excellent -friendly and accommodating to where we wanted to visit. We enjoyed a busy but relaxing day taking in the old and modern Tokyo. We would totally recommend and thanks again for such a great day.
We were fortunate to have Ali as our guide and driver. His English was excellent as was his communication skills. He tailored the tour to our exact needs and nothing was too much trouble. I highly recommend Ali for any future tours - his knowledge of the various sights was excellent. First class young man and a credit to his company.
Our guide, David, drove us from sight to sight but did not accompany us at the sights. Compared to other guides we have had elsewhere he had very little to offer in history culture etc. We could have taken cabs and saved a lit of money.
We had a wonderful time. Tony was a great driver and was an excellent communicator. He did a great job highlighting the different places we visited and he was very helpful and knowledgeable. We would book with him again. Thank you.
Ali our driver/Tour Guide is very knowledgeable and informative of Tokyo. He took us to all the highlight of Tokyo. Always on time to pick us up. If we pass by a building or areas and we have questions, Ali always ready to answer our questions. Thank you Ali for a memorable day. Highly recommended.
