A conveniently located location near the Tokyo tower. Our sushi course was hosted by tomoko, who made a very welcoming experience for our group of two. We spend about 30-40 minutes crafting the sushi and learning fun facts about its history. At the end you’ll have a small photoshoot opportunity before you eat!

This was awesome. Honestly, I did not set high expectations as this was what my wife wanted to do, and I was just along for the ride. I was pleasantly surprised at how much fun I had, and the instructor (Tamoko? sp?) was awesome and spoke perfect English! :) athe sushi was delicious and I would highly recommend this for anyone looking for a unique activity to do while in Japan.
So good! Very filling and yummy. Great omakase experience.
Awesome! Fun for all and yes the sushi was delicious. Knowledgable instructor and helpful staff. Clean space.
Fabulous instructions and yummy sushi!
It was amazing. They taught us to make sushi!!!
This was such a fun experience! We learned some history of sushi-making and made four different types of sushi. There was a lot of food! Our chef was wonderful and the sushi was amazing. We would definitely recommend as this was an experience we will remember forever!
Great fun and a superb host. Nothing was too much trouble, and the sake was out of this world! The explanation around the history of sushi was fascinating and informative. Will definitely come back another day!
Hama and Yusuke were really good waiters ! Lovely personalities. We teached Yusuke some French. He was really good !
It was a very positive experience, the on site team were very patient throughout the whole experience, starting with explaining the basics, sushi making, and finally photo shoot session!
A fantastic experience, we were in a small class (it was a private one, just me and my wife!) and excellent sushi. Our host Hiro was really friendly and kind, and spoke perfect English! If you are looking for a sushi class in Tokyo, I can recommend this one for sure!!
Yukumi was an incredible instructor and made this class an absolute highlight of our trip to Tokyo. Patient, fun, and genuinely passionate about sushi, she walked us through every step with such care and enthusiasm that even total beginners felt confident by the end. The class itself was so much more than just rolling rice. Yukumi took the time to explain the history and technique behind each element, which made the whole experience feel educational and deeply authentic. The location near Tokyo Tower was a great touch too. We left with full stomachs, new skills, and huge smiles. If you are visiting Tokyo and want an experience that is both hands on and genuinely fun, do not skip this class. Yukumi makes it unforgettable.
Awesome sushi making experience. The instructor was awesome. Good to combine with Tokyo Tower as it is nearby. Easily accessible from the metro station.
Awesome experience. Instructor was great. Easy location to catch the train to.
It was very basic and pricey for what we got. It was about an hour long. Sushi quality was not that good
I am Rating the experience a three because it was not clear that this is a very basic course geared towards someone who has never rolled sushi. My husband and I have and there was no additional insight on his to cut fish, make rice, or it was all done for you. I think the description was not clear.
We did this sushi-making experience as a family and it was absolutely incredible from start to finish! The instructor was so engaging and made everything easy to follow, even for beginners. The ingredients were fresh and high-quality, and we loved learning the step-by-step process of making our own sushi. What made it extra special were all the thoughtful details—they had kimonos for us to dress up in, which made it so fun and unique, and they took the cutest photos of our family and each of us individually. It turned into such a memorable experience, not just a class. We left with full stomachs, great memories, and adorable pictures to remember it by. Highly recommend this for families or anyone looking for a fun, interactive, and unique activity!
This was a wonderful experience for our whole family including our 7 & 10 year-old children. It was informative without being intimidating and we loved eating our creations.
This was one of the most favorite things we did. We made delicious sushi, got to dress up, took pictures, had water, iced coffee, sushi wine (yum) this was something I could do with my 13 year old. It is also within walking distance to Tokyo Tower.
Tomo was so lovely and patient teaching me how to make sushi. It was such fun. I would highly recommend Tomo and her friendly staff.
Koko was absolutely fantastic and made us feel super welcomed! Her English is very good and her teaching method is super simple and easy to follow. I’m super happy we booked this (last minute btw). We also were the only ones doing the sushi making at that time so it felt private for us :) The place is designed for these classes yet also served as a functional sushi restaurant with patrons inside.
Highly recommended, we had so much fun! The chef was very hands on, going step by step. She was so nice and welcoming. Loved the costumes and props for pictures! Ingredients were also super fresh! 🫶🏼🍣
Tomoko was so great! We had many laughs and enjoyed learning about her travels. The picture part had fun props to use. I used a cute traditional Japanese umbrella. And my husband a Samuri sword. We had a great laugh as he pretended to cut the sushi with a sword. We highly recommend this experience.
Amazing omakase and staff is very friendly! Big recommend
this experience was so fun and it was very relaxed and kind of exciting to learn how to make sushi. Also, you got to eat all the sushi afterwards and it was the best we had our entire trip!
Best experience to have in Tokyo! Took my family of 5 and we really enjoyed it. Teacher was very friendly and took good care of us! Highly would recommend doing this in Tokyo
Excellent experience. We had first class treatment. Learned a lot and they gave us items to dress up in kimonos and take pics with our finished products. Very good sushi too. Super fun and would highly recommend.
Izumi was a great guide and taught us so much about sushi and Japan. Authentic Japanese restaurant and you make a lot of pieces. Highly recommend!!
It was fun and surprisingly easy! And tasty! The instructor and others there were very helpful and friendly and spoke English well. It was a very clean and pleasant space as well.
It was a fun learning experience and really good sushi. The teacher was very friendly and helpful and the room was festive and clean.
The host was lovely and they try hard to make you feel welcomed! The sushi was good. I thought it was slightly overpriced but we had fun and it made for a good lunch stop. I would do it again!
A really informative and enjoyable experience and my sushi tasted great. I recommend this as an activity particularly if you have limited time.
Fantastic way to start our Tokyo holiday. Staff were so friendly. Highly recommend the sushi / nigiri making experience, paired with some lovely Sake.
We had such a wonderful time at Sushi Garyu! Our instructor, Keiko, was amazing—patient, knowledgeable, and made the entire experience so fun. We learned how to make one sushi roll and eight pieces of nigiri, and Keiko guided us step by step while sharing helpful tips along the way. The atmosphere was welcoming, and the experience felt both authentic and hands-on. We left not only with full stomachs but also with a new appreciation for the art of sushi making. Highly recommend this class to anyone visiting Tokyo!
Just a beautiful dining experience. The food choices were well prepared, beautifully plated. The staff was very welcoming and friendly, always a smile. Special attention was paid to our 4 year old daughter, she made her first sushi roll here and was smiling wildly.
Wonderful experience! The guide was very nice and interesting! We enjoyed the process and the result of this master class :) tasty! Many thanks to the stuff!
Amazing service super polite staff Outstanding sushi! So fresh and delicious—every bite was perfect. Can’t wait to come back! 🍣💯
The best sushi class in Tokyo — and probably in all of Japan. This class was an absolute highlight of our trip. It’s intimate, hands-on, and incredibly fun from start to finish. The staff were some of the friendliest people we met in Japan — which says a lot given how kind everyone is there. Our teacher, Tomoko, was amazing. She guided us with patience, humour, and so much warmth. Along with her boss, she made us feel instantly welcome and created such a relaxed atmosphere that learning felt effortless and enjoyable. We laughed, learned, and made some of the best sushi we’ve ever tasted. If you’re in Tokyo and want an authentic, memorable experience, book this class. You’ll leave not only with a full stomach but with new skills and great memories. Thank you, Tomoko, for making it so special!
MUST DO IN TOKYO!! The staff were super friendly and the food was delicious! We had the chefs special and did the sushi making experience also. Every dish had us in awe. Definitely recommend this and we will be coming back again!

Very nice, very familiar vibe, 100% recommended. The sushi was also very very good, rice on spot and the fish was delicious
Such amazing food and friendly staff. They love to share their culture and all speak english. They welcomed us to japan is a friendly and took the time to learn about us. Highly recommend the omekase. Our favorite was the tuna and amberjack. 5/5 an amazing, easy going but culturally enriching in a non stressful way.
10/10 experience, best meal I ever made 😁. Highly recommend for anyone wanting to learn how to make sushi as a morning activity.
I was only offered 4 but it was a 10, Izumi was our Sushi Chef and she was wonderful, she is a happy easy to understand great example of sushi. Her demonstration of how to make wonderful treats is easy to follow and we picked it up quickly, and before we knew it we were eating our work. If you’re a novice or have been eating sushi for years I is a great experience. Enjoy, learn form the experience and take away memories.
A wonderful class with Izumi🌸 Izumi speaks very good english. Small class size. Clean & organized. Fish was fresh & delicious🌸 Many pictures taken & videos of us making. Prior to class start you get to wear japanese kitchen jacket (very pretty patterns for men & women). Professional pictures afterward displaying your handmade meal. Beverages offered cola, sake, beer. It was a great experience that you take home to share with others. I highly recommend! If you have any hour - you will not be disappointed🌸
Emi was such a great teacher super friendly and pleasant and a great teacher the whole experience was fun educational and really deepened my appreciation for the art of sushi making. I can’t wait to share this new skillset with family and friends.
My family and I had a wonderful experience here. The instructor was patient and well informed about the entire sushi making process. I would highly recommend going here for a great sushi making experience!
Keiko gave us such a warm welcome! We immediately sat down to work by preparing our sushi. She patiently explained each step and the result was eight wonderful pieces of sushi 🍣 which we then devoured! She took lots of photos of our handy work with traditional Japanese clothing and items. Definitely recommend. - we all really enjoyed it (x2 adults & x2 teens)
Fabulous. Fun family experience with teens. Delicious. Great set up. Very clean. Fresh fish. Fairly easy to find - a short walk from the station. Thank you. 🙏
