Great experience, something to learn & share with family.
Absolutely incredible food! Everything was delicious, fresh and beautifully prepared. The restaurant is a little hidden on the first floor of a building, which makes it feel like a true hidden gem. Definitly worth finding — a wonderful experience and a place I would highly recommend ! From France with love ❤️
This place is a golden gem, there is so much food to make and even more fun to eat. Hayato is fantastic with perfect English and is very knowledgeable about all things sushi. The place is very clean and very well constructed. A must if you want a sushi lesson
A discovery, an excellent experience.
Absolutely LOVED this experience. Our guides, Koda, Mai, Hayato were awesome. We had such a good first experience here. I visited with my family, 2 kids (16 and 10). Everyone had a good time. The fish was fresh and instructions were easy to follow. More than recommend 10/10!
Really great, private experience. Kay was a wonderful instructor who gave us hands-on feedback. It was fun to learn about the history of sushi while making it. Good variety of very fresh fish.
This place is a hidden gem on the 2nd floor. Worth the climb. The staff is great and the sushi is awesome. Very creative. I highly recommend and will come again
Our instructor was kind and fun to talk with. He did a great job teaching us how to make sushi. It was a fun experience and would recommend!!
Incredible food. Exceptional chefs (Hiro and Yusuke)
Hiro and Yusuke, you guys were great. We all know Yusuke runs the place, Hiro was just the visitor. The meal was so good, the two had great conversations with us and kept us entertained. The food and menu was great!!
Yusuke and Hiro were amazing! The sushi was amazing!
Mai and her assistant taught us how to make nigiri and cut sushi rolls and gave us great advice on things to do around town. Had a great time!
Nice experience, I was alone, so perfect! Mai was super professional and nice!
Small and intimate class. Learnt a few techniques and greatly enjoyed it. Our class chef was fantastic and made it look so easy. Highly recommend.
Our teacher was awesome! He made the experience easy and fun. The sushi was excellent too. This was a great little bonus to a wonderful sushi lunch!
Wonderful experience. Fun for all ages. Great time for our group ages 7 to 68. We are glad we picked this activity.
I really loved it. I was the only person there so it made it even more better because it felt like a private session. I loved how informative he was and he taught me words in Japanese. I definitely want to book this experience one more time before I leave Tokyo. Strongly recommend!!
Hidden, and spectacular. Do it, go here, don’t thank me, just enjoy.
I had a great experience at Sushi Garyu. The lesson was fun, well organized, and very hands-on from start to finish. The instructors, Hide and Hayato, were both excellent—very patient, welcoming, and knowledgeable. They made the class easy to follow and created a relaxed atmosphere that made the whole experience enjoyable. It was interesting to learn proper sushi-making techniques and get a better understanding of the craft behind it. You can tell they take pride in what they do, and they were very good at guiding everyone step by step. This was one of the most memorable experiences of my trip, and I would definitely recommend it to anyone visiting Japan who wants something unique, authentic, and interactive. Highly recommended for travelers, couples, families, or anyone interested in Japanese food and culture. If you want, I can also make it sound more luxury, more casual, or more like a top-ranked TripAdvisor review.
Great experiencia with Ken san, everyone in the place were really friendly, the sushi was really good
The staff was great and made the experience both a lot of fun and informative. One person had some food allergies and they accommodated them well. The only complaint I have is with TripAdvisor itself. The last message said there would be directions to the sushi place on our ticket. The only thing there was the name of the place. It took us well over an hour to find it after asking multiple people. If the directions had just said it was right next to the Starbucks, it would have saved lots of aggravation.
Great experience during the sushi making class
Kento and Mai were welcoming and great instructors! We enjoyed our time here. It was relaxing and we learned a lot ob out Japanese culture.
Amazing time with our sushi class. We had a wonderful time with Kento and Mai who helped us enjoy our first day in Tokyo!
Had an amazing time at the class with the wife and 2 teenagers. Hide was an excellent teacher and made the class fun, informative and engaging. The sushi we made was delicious. Would highly recommend it to anyone.
Such a fun and interactive sushi class! 🍣 Simple, well-explained steps and a great hands-on experience. Loved making (and eating!) our own sushi—definitely worth it!
We could not find the location!!’ I followed the address on Google Maps and it was not the location. We were never contacted and had no way to reach out. My fault but the building location is not easy to find.
The staff here is extremely friendly and helpful especially for people who aren’t as familiar with the Japanese language. The fish was very fresh and the instructions were clear and we were able to make almost perfect sushi rolls and nigiri in minutes.
Nice staff fun photos tasty sushi (come with empty stomach leave with full)Amazing work 5 stars a MUST SEE It was a truly amazing experience kids and family loved it, the staff were super friendly and kind. My son has sea food allergies and they were very understanding and were extremely helpful. They also teach you about Japanese traditions regarding sushi, a fun way to learn about their culture. This is suitable for all ages and all kinds of people, definitely worth visiting.
Hayato and Kento were so welcoming. My mom and I had such a great experience and the omakase felt very personal. The food was even more amazing!! For the price this was worth every penny/yen!!😁
We came here with our 3 young children, they did a wonderful job of making the experience fun and enjoyable for all of us. It was a wonderful way to spend our first night in Tokyo!
Very attentive chefs with high quality fish. It’s a quiet spot outside the bustle of Asakusa. Highly recommend
Great experience with a great instructor (Hide)! Would recommend!
This was a great experience for my first time making sushi! Our teacher, Hide, was very informative, patient, and funny! Getting to eat our final sushi was rewarding and they tasted great! The fish looked and tasted very fresh. Overall, a memorable experience and I would highly recommend!
So much fun! Very clear English made instructions easy to understand. Wide variety of fish was both delicious and super fun to make! Would absolutely recommend for any and all!
Very friendly team and fun day. Was a good stop on our journey!
We had a really great time there. We learned to make maki and nigiri and then ate it. Ami was a really nice hoster. Highly recommend it. 🫶🏼
A really great intimate experience learning how to make sushi. Highly recommend.
We took the course from Ami and Hayato and it was so fun! We made a maki roll and 7 pieces of sashimi each, and it served as our lunch. We also had the choice of sake, ramune, beer and juice. They taught us step by step how to make the sushi and they made it easy to follow - not intimidating at all, and we walked away feeling like we could do it at home and practice. The class is about an hour and a half start to finish and it is perfectly paced, both for us and our 9 year old. I highly recommend it - it’s a great blend of learning and fun!
Amazing sushi dining experience. We wore Kimonos and ate the best sushi I’ve ever had. Great customer service and overall 10/10. Highly recommended to all!
Excellent food, service and presentation. Very accommodating from the staff. Would for sure eat here again.
Hands on sushi making and the young woman teaching the class was very good and knowledgeable. Sushi was very good as well and enough for a meal!
I loved the experience, a real must do ! The staff was so great to me and my friend and taught us how to make the sushi ! My favourite one was the Maguro. I recommend if you are travelling here.
Amazing! Best experience and soooo delicious!
Had a really great time, was very fun and interesting !!! We had Hide as our teacher and was very funny and cared to teach us well! :)
Great experience making our own sushi. Hite is a great instructor and taught us to make a great sushi plate. So glad we did this on our last day in Tokyo
Great class! We learnt a lot and appreciated the accommodation they made for vegetarians as well as having a busy 1.5 year old with us too!
Very relaxing and fun experience. We were just two couples at the experience so there was lots of attention from the teacher. The sushi was also delicious to eat once we had finished making it!
Great service, amazing food and friendly staff. Would definitely approve.
