Our Sensei was very nice and welcoming despite our delay. He was very passionate and this what made the experience so good : it shared some historical details, did some comparison with pop culture so we could better understand the references elements borrow to the culture and retranscripted in the art. The room is quite big and have a dedicated space for throwing exercices. We were around 6 people for the experience, so he could take the time to practice with each of us, and we have to congrats his actor talents ! 😁 The experience is quite long (you enjoy it for the money spend) but not very intensive and is accessible for beginners because they are a lot of different physical exercices , throwing exercices, but as well some time were we sit and just enjoy some demo and/or historical events and techniques about Ninjas. We really enjoyed the experience and recommend it for Ninjas Fans ! Thank you Sensei ! 🙏

A very enjoyable experience! Our teens were all smiles the whole time. We really enjoyed the insights into what ninjas actually were and what their purpose was, and the reasons behind the skills that we got to try. Also the interactive nature of it was perfect for the family.
Our family of 5 loved our ninja lesson! Our instructor was so much fun! We learned so much about ninja skills and weapons. The kids enjoyed trying all the different moves and weapons. We highly recommend this activity!
This was an AMAZING experience, our instructor was very informative, and more importantly very fun!!! We had a blast and genuinely learned so much. Would highly recommend this experience to any travelers of Japan or anyone who is interested in learning more about ninja culture on a beginner level.
Was really challenging but with lots of fun . We tried different ninja skills , the guide was a professional trained ninja , kids loved it and ask to try again some of the training skills
Sense made the class enjoyable and humorous. The techniques and armaments were fun to learn. Would recommend to anyone looking for a fun excursion.
This was an amazing experience, very interesting to learn about different ninja and samurai techniques and also apply them in a very fun and entertaining way. The instructor or guide was extremely nice and experienced. Would highly recommend if wanting to learn about ninjas and samurais or just want a fun experience in Tokyo.
Would highly recommend this experience. We didn’t know what to expect but had a fantastic time and our instructor was brilliant! A lot of fun learning about ninjas and a really different activity to undertake when in Tokyo.
Taking this session was awesome. My professor was also awesome. Very patient, nice, and informative. I had a great time and gained a nice amount of knowledge and skills in regards to ninjas/Samurai. I was also able to get some good footage and was guided and encouraged through every lesson
Fantastic experience with my family of 4 from Australia. Both adults and the two kids, age 9 & 12 had the BEST time! The program was informative and interesting and well organised and the instructors super friendly, knowledgeable and fun. Highly recommend!
Our family had a wonderful time at our ninja lesson. The lesson brought in authentic ninja lessons and dynamics in a fun way. Our children loved all the ninja moves they were able to learn and practice. They especially loved the throwing stars and blowguns. It was a great activity for all of us to experience while in Japan.
Great fun. You get a beginner ninja lesson and the teacher is a fun personality. It it’s also a good opportunity to get some cool photos taken in the ninja gear
It was fun dressing up in a Ninja outfit and trying out the Ninja weapons. The instructor’s English was passable.
Great instructors fun class nice addition to our trip to tokyo thanks. Everything from the outfit to the weaponry was top notch
Such a pleasant experience! We enjoyed every minute of it, the sensei was friendly and patient and made the class fun
Budo was our amazing ninja master, the whole family had fun . place is super clean, costumes amazing, props great. threw stars blew darts did ninja breathing and walking. we are very thankful would do it again!
Teacher was good and very friendly and smart, and it was fun to dress in the gear. The venue, however, was pretty disappointing. It was top floor of a small office block in the middle of nowhere. The room felt like a classroom and didn't have the authenticity we'd hoped for - all a little rundown. NOT AT ALL like the photos shown here - there are no black walls and dark spaces. This is a stark white classroom. There was no sword play - but we did throw a couple of throwing stars and did some blow darts (which were not authentic in any way, Lol). Overall it was a bit disappointing.
Was great fun and he knew his stuff. Good English so it made it easy to understand. The ninja stars and blow dart were fun as well especially how far away we were from the target.
Great opportunity to learn more about samurai life style. Exercises were simple and easy to follow. The master explains very well with perfect English. It was one of best activities on my trip.
My wife and I had a great time learning so much about Japanese Ninja and Samurai culture. The master made us felt very welcome to his dojo and taught us a lot from how to use a sword to using blow darts. He allowed time for pictures too which was great. A fun activity and one we will remember forever. Thank you.
He spoke relatively good English and was able to explain things. He taught us how to put on the ninja attire and how to use a variety of weapons. Overall a very good experience. Make sure to bring “workout” clothes to wear under your ninja outfit.
This was a great experience. I came with my brother and we were a bit unsure when we arrived as it was in a nondescript builinding in an area that is far from tourist spots. Nevertheless, once we entered we realsied we were in safe hands as our sensei welcomed us and made us feel comfortable. The lesson was a combination of information about who/what Ninjas were/are as well as the various weapons they use and stealth techniques. I found the lesson really interesting and there was a good amount of participation and time to get hands-on with the weapons. Very cool and would reccomend to anyone interested in Ninjas or anyone who just wants to try their hand at throwing a ninja star!
Very good ninja experience. My family really enjoy it. A must do activity in Tokyo. Learn new knowledge in Japanese culture.
So cool and fascinating! We’re so happy that we did the class, because it was both fun and informing. All our expectations was fulfilled!
It was my kids favorite activity. We only booked a last minute one hour class and they wanted more. Definitely book a two hour. The one hour didn’t include sword training.
It was a very fun and interactive session all in the one hour. The instructors were great. They were very friendly, always encouraging and spoke good English.
The hosts were really accommodating with our schedule mix-up. We are so glad we did the experience, with a 7 year old and 10 year old, the one hour lesson was perfect and the kids really enjoyed throwing the ninja stars and trying blow darts. Our teacher Mr. Takahashi was great with the kids. Showing up earlier will allow more time to get dressed in the ninja outfit. Thank you for a fun experience!
They are vey good. Patient and they explaned about the ninja history and teach how fight. They explaned us in English so we could understand.
Really enjoyed the class! My friend and I were interested in taking Ninja classes. The Ninja expert with us spoke really good English and was really kind and patient. Thank you!!!
An amazing & unique experience. Glad to be able to dive into a Japanese culture that is often seen in cinema or manga but not often talked about. The sensei taught us the philosophy of what being a ninja is with as well a practical part (throwing shuriken & even chopsticks!) I also got to wear the ninja clothes which I loved! Definitely recommend this place, worth the price for sure.
Really attentive personnel & non-japanese friendly!!! Sensei really knew his stuff and he was very thoughful on technique while teaching. Definetly a must do
Great experience ! The master was very kind, talented, smiling. He paid attention to o us, encourage everyone. He took time to make us experienced a lot of samouraïs and ninja’s weapons.
My boyfriend and I loved our private ninja class. Knowledge instructor and fun time. Learned a lot about ninja!
Great experience, the staff were knowledgeable, polite, spoke English we'll and very accommodating. Highly recommend.
My family of 5 (including 3 children ages 11yr-B, 13yr-B and 15yr-G) all enjoyed this experience. Raven educated us about the history of the ninja and the samurai and was able to answer all the questions we had. We all had plenty of turns practicing to throw ninja stars and use the blow pipe to shoot darts. After the class we looked at the showcase and Raven enlightened us to what a lot of the weapons were. I would recommend this activity as a great inclusive family day out.
My friend and I did this (both females in our early 30s) and it was by far one of the highlights of our trip. Very professional studio, amazing instructor, and very informative. They even took professional photos throughout the class adn sent them all to us. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!
My family & I had a brilliant Ninja session in October. The instructor spoke fluent English and was both knowledgeable and welcoming. After giving us a demonstration and brief talk we were able to try a number of activities including throwing Ninja stars and trying to blow darts. The instructor was very patient and was generous with his time, the session lasted well over 45 minutes. The dojo is in central Asakusa, only a few minutes walk from the station and close to the temple. If we are fortunate enough to go to Japan again we will definitely book a second time so we can try the Samurai session.
We had a great time there the instructor was really knowledgeable and ninja stars really drove the point home. But seriously try it out you won’t regret it.
I would highly recommend this experience. This is perfect for all types. Families, friends and couples. It was unique and authentic. Our teacher was highly knowledgeable, spoke perfect English and made the experience really. There is also a gift shop downstairs that you can purchase swords and ninja stars. A must do.
My wife and I did the Ninja lesson today. We were both blown away by the whole experience. We were treated to the history of both the Samurai and Ninja as well as demostrations with swords, fans and meditation. We were taught how to throw ninja stars and blow darts as well as a lot more. I cannot recommend this enough. The staff were wonderful, full of information and want you to enjoy this experience to the max. If there was one thing to do during your trip, this has to be it!
We thoroughly enjoyed this letter. Our teacher Raven was not only thoroughly engaging and charming but also very knowledgable. He provided us with a brief history of the Ninjas before we got to participate in some basic Ninja training. It was so much fun! I highly recommend this place on your to-do list in Tokyo!
We had a introductory ninja session here the other day and it was brilliant, great fun. Special thanks to the chap who did the lesson, he was excellent, kept it fun and entertaining. You have to throw the ninja stars, brilliant.
We were fortunate to be the only people in this lesson and had such a fantastic experience learning about the Ninjas and practicing some skills. Our guide was incredibly enthusiastic, knowledgeable and engaging, which really added to this experience. This was one of the few experiences where you got to don the traditional gear and experience proper iron weapons. From ninja stars to blow darts to swords, this lesson had it all and kept our 5yo very engaged. This is a very personalised and thorough experience, and great value for money. A truly memorable experience that I know our 5yo will be talking about for many years to come. It’s also in a great location for some delicious food and shops a few blocks over, so make a day of it!
We did 45 minutes ninja basic training. First we thought it will be a fun gimmicky activity with laughs. We did had fun and laughs but more importantly we learnt very thoughtful lessons about history and philosophy of Ninja from the instructor. The entire lesson is well put. I tried to keep my emotions balanced as taught by the instructor but I might have got bit excited while writing this review.
We had a terrific time at the Dojo. I was expecting a bit of a tourist trap but I was completely wrong. Our group of 3 were the only people for the session and we were each given fresh Ninja outfits and following a very interesting display by our instructor we got to practice with a range of ninja weapons including Shuriken, Blowguns and swords. The instructor was polite, interesting and very friendly. I would recommend this to anyone visiting Japan.
What an experience we had! Our master was amazing! We turned up early and he let us start the lesson straight away. We opted for the ninja and samurai experience, both were great fun. The ninja star throwing to the samurai sword techniques. The ninja outfits were great. We ended with a blowgun competition which was awesome! The whole experience was well presented and our master was so knowledgeable and entertaining. Highly recommended!!!
Had a blast! Very good price for the value. This is the perfect way to learn about the samurai teachings and practice some of their manors, and sword moves. We booked on the same day and it was just us, so it was like a private session. Budo, our master, comes from a family of fighters and had really good knowledge of the samurai culture and took his time explaining and answering our questions, we really appreciated that. He also had good knowledge of the ninja/samurai movies and was making sure to stop and let us take pictures/videos after each movements sequence and the cherry on the top was practicing every thing we learned in live fighting video. The master was v friendly, funny, patient and organized, and also serious and a really good fighter when needed. I strongly recommend doing this if you’r a fan of japanese martial arts and its not too intense, so you can book this and continue your stroll in nakamise street and senso-ji temple. Loved the training arena and everything is very authentic.
My wife and I booked this last minute and lucked out with a private session. Both instructors were fantastic and you really get a great taste of the philosophy behind the craft and how it differs from the Hollywood depiction, as well as the obvious hands-on experience. Easy to get to using local transit. Well worth the time.
We booked the Ninja- & Samurai event (2 adults / 1 child, 7 years) and had an incredible cool experience! It was great learning about the spirits, the techniques, the dressing up and of course getting the possibility to really use the throwing stars, fight with the Katana etc. We for sure would recommend this event! Thanks again to the Ninja Samurai Dojo!
We thoroughly enjoyed this activity. Our instructor was gentle, knowledgeable and encouraging. He spoke excellent English and we could take our own photos throughout. Highly recommended
