Overall good experience with a friendly and helpful guide. But I am not sure why the tour missed out one location to visit the lake stated in the itinerary. I didn’t realize until after the tour. Nothing was mentioned on excluding this location in communications. So did not get the value for this tour.

The drive to and from The meeting spot is about three hours each way. The van does not offer much leg room, it is a small-space van. The drive includes some curves while driving to and from the Shrine. The Shrine and surrounding forest is amazing to see. The Kegon Falls and the lake is very pretty and make for enjoyable sightseeing stops. The Nikko tour highlight was the Toshogu Shrine/Temple and the forest in which the shrine was built. Magnificent cedar trees. The bus driver was excellent at handling the curves on the road to and from the Shrine. The guide Sofia was very nice and pointed out all of the important history and significance of what we were seeing/exploring. She also gave good recommendations for lunch!
Sofia is a wonderful guide. She is very knowledgeable and does an outstanding job at managing the interests and needs of her guests while providing interesting facts about the tour stop locations. I would happily book with her again.
It was a great day. Despite foggy weather, our guide Sofia was incredible. She was bright, engaging, well informed and so helpful. Due to weather, we did not see the falls but had a great afternoon in Nikko and the shrine. A great deal of credit goes to Sofia for making the tour both fun and memorable.
Sofia was awesome, extremely knowledgeable and patient.
Sofia was an excellent guide and very knowledgeable about the areas visited and the history of them. She even had great recommendations for lunch
Tourist Japan, has been a great organization to work with. They kept me informed with reminders, and updates. Tourist Japan was very particular about asking us about our willingness to leave earlier than planned, because of the silver weekend holiday. Our tour guide Sofia was fantastic - shared a lot of great information and insights about the sites, places and history of the Nikko area. Her food recommendations were fantastic and we enjoyed a wonderful meal at the Nikko Cheese Garden.
We had such a lovely experience in Nikko with are wonderful , kind, friendly tour guide Sofia. We went to a spectacular waterfall and saw beautiful shrines in an ancient forest. Sofia also took us to a delicious ramen spot! We truly had a great day with our amazing tour guide, we would 1000% recommend her!
Sofia is an excellent guide, through Tourist Japan she was able to assist in picking me up with direction communications. The falls are beautiful and the shrine is amazing with its restored artwork. We had wonderful Ramen noodles for lunch and even stopped for a little dessert. 🍨 The day was rainy but still very worthwhile, giving the tour a good perspective of the climates in the area.
We had an amazing experience in Nikko with my partner. The tour was very well organized, and we really enjoyed every place we visited. Even though it was raining, it actually made the experience even more special and the scenery looked absolutely beautiful. Our guide was also great—very friendly, kind, and easy to talk to, which made the whole experience even more enjoyable. She made us feel comfortable throughout the tour and helped make the day truly memorable. We definitely recommend this tour to anyone visiting Nikko. It was one of the highlights of our trip to Japan!
Great experience with the tour guide Sofia who took time and care to show us around Nikko waterfall, lake and Toshogu Shrine. Admission was covered with the tour and Sofia suggested restaurants to eat at and her personal favourites. The tour took around 5 hours where travel to and from Tokyo took around 2 hours. The atmosphere was very in keeping with the shrine as it was set back from the roads and carpark. Sofia added very interesting facts and information about the shrine and Samurai in general. Crowds weren't too bad and Sofia found space and time for us to take photos and have space to see the shrine. There will always be a time limit due to the tour but she did very well to balance photos with seeing everything. I would suggest this tour is fine for everyone to see almost everything. Just a note you may need more mobility due to 200 steep steps to the very top shrine where the Shogun was laid to rest (about <5% of the tour, not missing much at all).
The trip was great, the waterfall is beautiful, and it was interesting to visit the temple and learn about its history.
Sofia was a wonderful guide!! She was very kind and knowledgeable. She went out of her way to show us the best time. It was a beautiful tour made even better by our guide.
It was a very nice experience; from the first call I felt confident, and once on the tour with Sofía, it was wonderful. I learned a lot and was able to speak in Spanish with her, very comfortable for me.. I hope I can do other tours with her.
Nikko is a special place, with beautiful temples and waterfalls! Worth the walk! The guide was attentive, took us to eat cheesecake that was great!!!
