Itinerary
Your tour begins early with a comfortable, air-conditioned bus ride from Ginza. Along the way, you’ll enjoy scenic views as you travel towards the mountainous region of Nikko, known for its rich history and breathtaking natural landscapes.
Upon arrival in Nikko, we enjoyed a panoramic view of the iconic Shinkyo Bridge from the bus. Painted in bright red, this sacred bridge gracefully spans the Daiya River and is one of the most photographed landmarks in the area.
You’ll depart for the magnificent Toshogu Shrine, the lavish mausoleum of shogun Tokugawa Ieyasu—considered one of Japan’s most beautiful and ornately decorated shrines. Renowned for its vibrant colors and intricate carvings, the shrine features iconic symbols like the “Three Wise Monkeys” and the “Sleeping Cat.” If you select the option with the ticket, you'll enjoy full access to explore the richly adorned inner areas of the shrine complex, including the five-story pagoda, while learning about the Tokugawa family’s lasting impact on Japanese history. If you do not select the admission option, you’ll have approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes of free time to enjoy the surrounding area at your own pace—whether strolling the peaceful grounds or browsing nearby shops and attractions.
The tour continues to Kegon Falls, one of Japan's most spectacular waterfalls, located in Nikko National Park. You’ll arrive at the Kegon Falls area, after a 40 minute bus ride, and once there, you’ll have 1h 20 minutes free time to admire this 97-meter-high waterfall. You can walk to the observation deck or take an elevator to get closer to the base of the falls. This is also the perfect time to enjoy lunch at a nearby restaurant, where you can taste local specialties like yuba (tofu skin) or freshwater fish dishes. (Please note: Due to weather conditions, during January and February, the visit to Kegon Falls and Lake Chuzenji will be replaced with a panoramic view of Rinnoji Temple and the Futarasan Shrine)
The tour heads to Lake Chuzenji, a serene mountain lake formed by volcanic activity from Mount Nantai. You’ll arrive at Lake Chuzenji, where you’ll have free time to stroll along the lakeside and take in the peaceful surroundings. The lake, with Mount Nantai towering in the background, offers stunning views and a tranquil atmosphere. This is a great spot to relax and soak in the natural beauty of the area before heading back to the city. (Please note: Due to weather conditions, during January and February, the visit to Kegon Falls and Lake Chuzenji will be replaced with a panoramic view of Rinnoji Temple and the Futarasan Shrine)
After enjoying the scenic beauty of Lake Chuzenji, you’ll board the bus for the return trip to Tokyo. This is your chance to rest and reflect on the day’s adventures. You’ll return to Ginza, concluding a full day of cultural exploration, stunning natural scenery, and unforgettable experiences.

Jorge was an excellent tour guide with many historical facts mixed with funny stories to keep it interesting. Saito was an excellent driver getting along safe and smooth. Perfect team.
Good recommendations especially for food from Jorge! The autumn sights this tour brought us to were beautiful and it’s nice to see highlights which the outskirts of Tokyo can bring. Saito-san is a careful and experienced driver which made the journey very comfortable.
Jorge our guide was amazing! He is fluent in multiple languages so was able to share information and communicate with everyone. The temples and lake were beautiful. The tour was on time and prompt throughout. The driver Saito was fantasatic. p.s. get the apple pie at the rest stop!!
Matchan Jorge ( our guide) was too good, he made sure that we enjoyed the whole tour till the end. Recommended to all.
Thank you very much to Jorge and Matchan for an excellent day. We totally enjoyed the tour.
Guide Melody was very knowledgeable, very clear ability to speak English and Spanish. I requested English and found the bilingual narrative was a distraction. Otherwise everything was well organized; unfortunately some people can’t seem to get back to the bus on the designated times causing tour to run later than planned. Great tour on a less than optimal weather day. Overall, great experience.
We had an amazing experience today! Melody was a wonderful guide, super friendly and knowledgeable, and made the tour really enjoyable. A big thank you to Hiro-san, our bus driver, for the smooth and comfortable journey. Both were incredibly kind and made our day special. Highly recommended!
Amazing experience and so peaceful, everything was so organized, the food was amazing and definitely recommend this tour if you love nature and Japanese history. Hiro-San drove us safely and Melody was a great host.
We had a really lovely day with our tour guide Jorge, who shared lots of interesting stories about Japanese culture and history and made the tour really entertaining for everyone. He was very thoughtful and made sure everyone was well looked after. Ejima was a great driver, navigating the winding mountain roads with confidence and making us feel safe throughout. Thank you both for making it such an enjoyable day!
The trip was a succès and the views spectacular, the stops were as published and the lunch stop was very interesting. We had a great day with Jorge and Ejima
Very good experience. Thoughtful planning. Lots of information. Yoh-san as driver, and Melody as guide
Great day. Booked via klook to save us navigating the trains to Nikko. George was a wonderful host, full of knowledge about the history of the areas we visited and the culture of Japan. The stops were interesting and there were plenty of opportunities for the toilet and food. Make sure to bring layers as it's cold up in Nikko!
Ejima and Jorge were awesome tour guides: friendly, great hospitality and funny! Very delighted to have met the team :)
Jorge was very friendly and approachable. He had plenty of interesting information about the sights and Japan in general. The location is lovely shame that it was very misty and we couldn't see the lake and waterfall properly.
Jorge and Jou-San were great. Solid energy you always want from a tour guide
Enjoyable day out. Our guide very skillful on both English and Spanish- funny and lively!
Jorge was an excellent guide — funny, energetic, sharp, knowledgeable, took time to speak to everyone individually and answered any questions, looked out for everyone and made the whole trip more meaningful. Thanks!
Melody and Osada-San were best duet! Strongly recommended!
Osada-san and Melody were the best guides super helpful and nice. The trip itself was absolutely beautiful.
We had a good time. Our driver was GREAT and our hide has a very fun personality
Nagano and Jorge were excellent as our bus driver and guide! They were friendly, professional, and made the trip comfortable and enjoyable. Thank you both for a wonderful experience!
Jorge the leader was incredible and knowledgeable. Kept the whole bus entertained as well as more knowledgeable the whole trip. Nagano the bus driver ensured a smooth ride and welcomed each person on and off the bus
Jorge and Nagano are the best! The Trip was funny und informative. I would do it again!
Great Job from Jorge and Nagano!

excellent informative friendly engaging guide
Jose was super friendly, enthusiastic & knowledgeable and made the tour thoroughly enjoyable. Highly recommend!
Jose was very kind and helpful. Fun to ride with and information was clear and concise. Played a Japanese word game at the end that was fun
I had a wonderful experience on this day trip to Nikko, including the beautiful Kegon Falls, Lake Chuzenji, and the impressive historical temples and shrines. Our tour guide, Jorge, did an excellent job! He made a great effort to explain everything in two languages, ensuring that everyone could understand and learn about the fascinating history, culture, and landmarks we visited. He was friendly, knowledgeable, patient, and very dedicated to making the tour enjoyable for everyone. A special thank you also goes to our driver, Kitagawa, for his professional and safe driving throughout the journey. He was very kind and made us feel comfortable and well taken care of. The scenery was breathtaking, especially with the beautiful autumn colours, and the entire day was a memorable experience. Many thanks to Jorge and Kitagawa for such a lovely day! I would definitely recommend this tour to anyone visiting Japan! Vesna
Excellent day trip. Lovely sites to visit, comfy bus, and most importantly, amazing guide and driver - Jorge and Ejima. Jorge was a very entertaining guide, full of interesting information, and great English (and Spanish).
The tour was a fantastic experience. Leaving the hustle and bustle of the city and heading into the countryside was a fantastic way to spend the day. Nikko was full of so much history and culture and the Keagon Falls were spectacular. Our guide, Peru, was fantastic and was able to communicate in so many different languages and provided recommendations throughout the day.
It's been a very beautiful trip also thanks to Jorge which has been very entertaining and the driver Kitagawa which has brought us through the entire journey safely. The lake is a refreshing view, the waterfall is amazing and the mausoleum is breathtaking.
Great experience with Jorge, an amazing multi-lingual guide (English, Spanish, Portuguese and Italian)
Tour Guide is very informative. The tour itself is very realistic in terms of timeline Not too packed. The driver drives safely as well.
Jorge and Yaguchi provided us an awesome tour and visit to temples, lake and waterfall. The ride was filled with history and curiosity takes about Japan. All the stops had more than enough time to visit, take pictures, eat and enjoy. The mood was always very friendly! Would do it again and highly recommend!
Jorge y Yaguchi san, grandes profesionales
Had a wonderful day. Have seen lots of temples on this trip but Nikko was something else. Next level and highly recommended. Our guide Jorge was the best. Humorous and very informative. Also our driver Yaguchi was excellent.
Naomi was very good and did a great job. Would highly recommend her and that to her
Amazing place to visit, beautiful location, and Jorge is phenomenal, very funny and lots of interesting informations about culture and japanese life, very raccomanded to have Jorge as your guide for your next your!
An excellent day out that took us through beautiful forested countryside, providing a lovely contrast to the bustling city of Tokyo (where we were staying). The Pagoda and other buildings were an amazing sight to behold, set among the wooded landscape. The Kegon Waterfall and the geology surrounding it certainly had the 'wow' factor - truly spectacular. We hadn't booked lunch but found plenty of options for eating or snacking. It was then a short drive to Chuzenji Lake, with its backdrop of forests and mountains. We had a brief rest stop in the morning halfway to Nikko and again on our way back to Tokyo. All the places we went to had good clean facilities (toilets etc) but the Hasuda services (on the return journey) takes the top prize - you will see what I mean when you get there. I wish we could have stopped there a little longer! The driver and guide - Mac and Jeorge - were super helpful. Jeorge gave us lots of info and tips, speaking in Spanish as well as English, and he was good fun too. The only improvement I can suggest is to make it easier to find exactly where to wait for the start of the tour, perhaps by holding up an 'Amigo Tours' sign. Another tip for tourists (you might already know this but we had not thought of it!) is to mark on Google Maps where your bus/coach is parked, to make it easier to get back to if you lose sight of the guide or get disorientated (at Nikko), as there are so many wonderful things to see. Thank you.
The waterfalls, lakes and temples on this tour were breathing taking and beautiful. Our guide Jorge taught us so much about Japanese culture and customs - it was very educational, and full of humour. Our driver Mac was really friendly, and together with Jorge made the whole experience so memorable. Thank you so much!
Excellent trip Jorge was great fun and very knowledgable. Mac is a v g driver Really enjoyed the day
A lovely designed tour and our guide (Naomi) was fantastic. We had beautiful weather. I really loved the lake, waterfall, and learning about the history / religion of the region.
This day was not how it was advertised. Bus trip was over 3 hours as it left late and was stuck in traffic. Organisation at Nikko and lake etc could have been better . We sat in traffic there where we could have easily walked ourselves around lake and falls and then left to come back earlier. We also should have been told that it was going to be 9 pm when we arrived back in Tokyo and we could have bought food for dinner at lake. The service stop had nothing other than ice cream. We ate a meal at 10:30 pm . The Nikko valley was beautiful and lake was stunning.
Very nice excursion. Beautiful scenery. Noemi was great taking care of everyone, she did a great job speaking English and Spanish. The company is lucky to have her a an employee. She is a true professional - great tour guide.
Naomi was a great multilingual guide that smoothly transitioned between different languages. Her enthusiasm, information sharing and sense of humor made a long day trip fun.
Jorge is a very charismatic and entertaining tour guide. We enjoyed the tour. Our driver Ota was also very meticulous and took care on the winding road down the mountain, which I appreciated and felt I was in safe hands. Thanks for the experience!
