Night Walking Tour In Shinjuku

Huy was a great guide and made the experience extremely entertaining with his comedy humour whilst guiding us around the area showing us amazing places we would never have found on our own.

Our night walking tour in Shinjuku was one of the absolute highlights of our trip to Japan! Our guide Nikki was fantastic, friendly, energetic, and incredibly knowledgeable about the history, culture, and hidden corners of the area. Exploring the neon lit streets, tiny alleyways, local bars, and bustling nightlife with someone who truly knew the area made the whole experience feel authentic and unforgettable. We discovered places we never would have found on our own and learned so many fascinating stories about Tokyo and local life. The pace of the tour was perfect, and Nikki made everyone feel welcome and engaged throughout the evening. Her passion for the city really shone through and made the experience so much more special. If you’re visiting Shinjuku, this night walking tour is an absolute must-do. Highly recommend for anyone wanting a fun, unique, and memorable night out in Tokyo! 🌃🇯🇵

My friends and I went on an evening tour with Dani. We visited places we wouldn't have found on our own. Dani explained the details of modern Tokyo life very clearly and engagingly. We especially liked the micro-bars area)

This was a fantastic tour. Although not Japanese, Zac has lived in Japan for the last few years and is immensely knowledgeable about Japanese history in general, as well as the history of the area. We very much enjoyed the tour and learned a lot about Shinjuku, both past and present.

I learnt a lot about Shinjuku area from the tour. Danny is a knowledgeable and share a lot of insight abouts Japan and its cultures. I have a deeper understanding about Japan and its society that people rarely talk about.

Out of all the tours and activities we participated in, this was the BEST! We completed the Shinjuku walking tour with Daniel; a thoroughly engaging trilingual Argentinian hospitality student with an extensive knowledge of Tokyo and Kabukicho. Daniel was articulate and generous in his willingness to answer questions and recommend places to eat and drink. He willingly offered to take photos of our group and spend longer on places that were of interest- Would highly highly recommend this tour which covers history, pop culture, the red light district of Kabukicho, Golden Gai, and places to eat & drink. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Sara was our fantastic guide who showed us Shinjuku’s vibrant nightlife with warmth and knowledge. From the neon-lit streets to hidden gems like Memory Lane and Golden Gai, she explained the area’s history and customs in a fun, approachable way. We learned a lot and always felt comfortable and safe exploring with her. Highly recommended!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I joined the free Shinjuku walking tour with Hiroshi and honestly, the two hours flew by! He’s incredibly friendly, funny, and knows the area like the back of his hand. His English is excellent, and his jokes are absolutely top-tier — we were laughing the whole way through. Without Hiroshi’s local knowledge, we never would have discovered the hidden, behind-the-scenes spots of this neighbourhood. He explained everything in such an immersive and engaging way that it really brought Shinjuku to life. If you’re looking for a fun, informative, and genuinely enjoyable way to explore Tokyo, I can’t recommend this tour (and Hiroshi!) enough. A must-do experience!

A must-do tour! Daniel, our tour guide, was simply amazing, and he "walked" us through amazing city stories that we had no idea about them! Little alleys with the most mindblowing little japanese pubs, big shiny roads with huge electric signs... from the start till the end it was an amazing tour with an amazing guide and amazing storytelling! Thank you for this experience!

The Shinjuku night tour was fabulous. Danny did an excellent job explaining the area and giving his opinion on different Japanese ideas and lifestyle. We lived in Japan and have known and visited this area but still learned new information. Danny shared tips on where to eat, drink or socialize. Danny was a very friendly guy with a smile in his face. I would not miss his tour.

Cool to learn a lot about Shinjuku/Japan in general. Hui was a great tour guide. Lot of laughter during the walking. Hui also gave us some dinner recommendations for after the tour since we were hungry

Our guide said we would never look at Shinjuku nightlife the same ever again, and he was right! We learned so much we wouldn't have found out on our own! Hiroshi's great energy was so addicting, and we all had a great time. Definitely recommend this, if you feel like the deep streets of Shibuya seem a bit overwhelming, or if you want to learn!

Nobu was great!!! He made the tour very entertaining and also provided a lot of information about the culture that we would have never known. This was a highlight of our time in Tokyo - highly recommended taking one of these tours to get a behind the scenes experience!

At first the tour meeting location was a little hard to find (we eventually realised our map was pointing to a location under the bridge we were standing on), but as soon as we met our tour guide, Hiroshi, the fun began. This tour is one that you definitely do not want to miss as it uncovers another side of Tokyo and Japan that you won't find anywhere else (for only the price of a tip)! I recommend that you go check it out. If you get Hiroshi as your tour guide, you'll be in for a lot of laughs and good times. He's got a very funny sense of humour and this tour is certainly one that I won't forget anytime soon.

Tour was great, Alina provided good explanations on many aspects of the Japanese lifestyle that we haven’t understood so far. Very good introduction if you just arrived to Tokyo. Tour length was good and selected spots were appropriate.
