Our guide was Ko, he was entertaining, knowledgeable and cheerful, we could not have asked for a better guide. The day went well despite not actually seeing mt Fuji, we did everything as advertised. We particularly enjoyed the Hakone ropeway. All in all a greatbtrip.

Itinerary
8:00AM Meet at Shinjuku MODE Gakuen in Tokyo and board a bus to the Mt. Fuji area. From Dec.1st to Apr. 25th, Visit the Mt. Fuji World Heritage Center instead. Explore the museum, which uses videos, lighting, and sound to illustrate Mt. Fuji’s spiritual and artistic significance. Discover local souvenir shops, a café, and scenic viewpoints perfect for photos. From Apr.26th to Nov.11th, Visit the Mt. Fuji 5th Station, located halfway up the mountain at an altitude of 2,305 meters. Enjoy sweeping views of Lake Kawaguchi and the surrounding landscapes on clear days, or witness the mystical “sea of clouds” when the weather is cloudy.
Next, enjoy a lunch break before heading to the Hakone area. Board the Hakone Ropeway at Sounzan Station and ascend to Owakudani Station, enjoying panoramic views of Mt. Fuji and the volcanic landscape of Owakudani.
Explore Owakudani Valley, one of Hakone’s most famous geothermal sites, formed by volcanic eruptions about 4,000 years ago. Sample the famous “Black Eggs” (Kuro-tamago) — eggs boiled in the hot springs. Legend says eating one adds seven years to your life.
Continue your ride on the Hakone Ropeway to Togendai Station, enjoying spectacular views of Mt. Fuji and the caldera lake below. Then, board a themed pirate ship and sail across the scenic Lake Ashi, one of Hakone’s most popular experiences. The journey offers a beautiful lake panorama with Mt. Fuji in the distance.
Finally, return to Tokyo by JR Shinkansen (bullet train),The bullet train to Tokyo runs about 40min, and the guide will buy the ticket for you but not accompany you on the train. There are two Shinkansen trains per hour from Odawara to Tokyo.

I would like to start by saying that the team did a good job and the customer service was excellent throughout, and our guide did his best to make the most of the day. This is not about blaming the team, but the tour could have been better planned. We were fortunate to see Mt. Fuji on a sunny day, which was the highlight. However, due to traffic and long queues, we missed some advertised stops, spent around 1.5 hours waiting for the ropeway each way, and arrived too late for the pirate cruise. As experts familiar with local traffic, holidays and visitor numbers, the tour team could perhaps have planned an earlier departure or adjusted the itinerary to make the day smoother. With better time management, this could have been a much more enjoyable experience.
Worst ever. No organization. Only saw 2 out of 5 stops. Stood twice in line for 2 hours for ski lift.
Truly awful experience. I really tried to be positive about this, but for the money I just can’t. After getting on the bus we spent over three hours with no bathroom breaks, just sitting in traffic, all for us to spend a whopping 15 minutes at Mt. Fuji. Our guide gave almost no information on any of the sights, just told us to hurry hurry hurry. We got back on the bus for over two hours to ride for two stops on the ropeway, and one stop on the pirate ship. The sights and experiences themselves were amazing, I think the tour we got was just dud. I would book with another group instead.
Do not take any tours with Gogoday. Our tour person, Edward, was rude, incompetent and a complete failure as a guide. He failed at every level - from giving clear instructions, keeping g everyone together and even abandoning part of our group without tickets.
I was going to write a long review, but it’s not worth it. Everything boiled down to an incompetent tour guide (allegedly named Edward. I doubt that is his real name). The tour guide was totally unprepared. He did not coordinate anything. He did not explain everything. He was a total failure. The end result was that the tour was horrible as we were left to figure everything out which caused us undo stress and angst. Do not take this tour.
Rode most of the day on a long trip to the various sights. Limited bathroom breaks. A little difficulty understanding our guide.
You get a nice multi experience trip while in the Mount Fuji Mountain area with an experienced and conscientious guide.
Don’t rely on google maps , it took a 15 min walk 40 mins and we were late. Edward the tour guide contacted us , but we couldn’t hold the tour up and they had to leave. We did however , with the help of Jack and Rachel, manage to join another tour. Edward followed up with us to see if we could catch up to them and rejoin the tour. The guides were more than helpful and we’re grateful they cared. Two out of the four were able to do the cable car and boat ride on the lake and it was amazing, and the bullet ride home was an experience Overall, I would do it again, no guarantee of seeing Mount Fuji because of cloud, but it was fun trying.
Please make sure do not take gogo days tour especially if you have a tour guide named Edward. He is extremely rude , he tries to sell you everything and gets all the details of your booking wrong and then argues with you. I had booked a return bullet train ticket and he insisted that we had not booked a bullet train and was ready to leave us at the station. After I raised my voice he agreed to double check with his company. He was also ok that I miss my train because he and his company got my booking wrong. I also had proof of email from their own company gogo travel which he refused to look at and kept arguing with me.
Excellent time management, hassle-free, all arrangements and logistics well prepared and Mr Ko guide is very professional and cooperative. Hats off!
My tour guide was wonderful at storytelling and trivia during the ride and when the day proved to cloudy to see the mountain he was kind enough to send everyone a picture of Fujiyama on a clear day.
Koto our tour guide was very concerned of his clients needs and made sure that they were having a fantastic time.
Tour very good and interesting We did feel rushed from place to place and the driver drove above the speed limit on a few occasions Vehicle could have been uncomfortable if it was full but luckily we were able to spread out
Mila was the best she was very knowledgeable and helped us make sure we were taken care of the whole time
Great way to see Mt Fuji. We did not see it snow cap as we went in August but the views somewhere where we stopped so beautiful recommend trying a black egg. Our tour guide, Wan, was very informative. Not only does she keep in touch, but she felt us understand. How navigate to take the bullet train back..
Ko made our experience incredibly fun and memorable! He was an amazing guide who shared great historical information, kept us laughing with his jokes, and made the entire day enjoyable. The only challenges we experienced were things that were outside of Ko’s control. Due to traffic, we only had about 10 minutes at Mt. Fuji. If our lunch reservation had been a little later, it would have been nice to have more time on the mountain. There were also so many tours at the cable car that it took about an hour to get back down, but again, that was completely out of Ko’s hands. Despite those challenges, Ko did everything he could to make our experience special. He even took pictures of our whole family together at Mt. Fuji, giving us wonderful memories that we’ll be able to cherish. Thank you, Ko, for being such a fantastic guide and for making our trip so much fun! We highly recommend him!
Ko was a great guide! The tour was very fun and you get to see both Fuji and the surrounding area! Highly recommend booking the package with the lunch and boat ride!
Took this trip with Ko as our guide. He was very efficient, friendly, and answered all questions. I would be aware of two things though: the weather (which can hide Mt Fuji as it did today) , and booking this on the weekend (very long waits for the cable car). Otherwise, Ko is highly recommended, he made me feel very taken care of as a solo traveler!
We had a great time on our tour with Ko! Wonderful tour which we highly recommend. Ko was really knowledgeable and helped us feel safe and comfortable the whole time ensuring we knew what was coming next. Thanks Ko, you are wonderful!
Wonderful tour. Jack was a great guide. Went to the Mt Fuji, took the boat ride, ate delicious lunch and got to shop. Took bus to location and bullet train back. I recommend the bus because seats are very confortable!
Really bad planning and adjusting the itinerary, I demand a partial refund. We only got to one place (geopark) and the rest of the itinerary was cancelled due to traffic. I understand the traffic can be unpredictable but the itinerary should’ve been adjusted differently. What kind of Mount Fuji tour skips the stops involving Mount Fuji?
Don’t go in summer. MT Fuji never visible. They don’t tell you until you get on the bus. Don’t go on weekends or holidays. They tell you traffic is bad and don’t take you to fifth station. Again, they don’t tell you until you are on the bus. If you take the bullet train, you do not return to meeting point. You end up at Tokyo Station and have to get back to meeting point at your own expense. Your lunch requires purchasing anything to drink. We were rushed at every stop even considering they eliminated 25 % of the tour and 1 1/2 hours. Horrible.
Going to the Mount Fuji 5th Station was the main reason we booked this trip, so we were incredibly disappointed when the guide announced on the bus that it was canceled due to traffic. The company should anticipate weekend and holiday traffic and adjust departure times accordingly, rather than changing plans without consulting the group.Due to the gridlock, we spent 2.5 hours driving to a replacement museum. The bus had no restroom and failed to stop at any rest areas—even though we passed two on the road—under the excuse of saving time. This was incredibly stressful as we had three children in our group. On the positive side, the food was good, Hakone was nice, and our guide did their best to be helpful. However, the boat trip felt unnecessary in the rain, and the red gates we wanted to see were far too distant. Overall, it was a very overwhelming day. Because the main highlight of the tour was canceled without prior notice, I hope the company will issue a partial refund.
Terrible trip!!! Rushed throughout the whole day and never made it to Mt fuji. I was told there was to much traffic, so we missed the stop. Instead we were talked to a Mt.fuiji center. It was so dull . The guide was very nice and helpful but did not make up for how terrible the trip was. Every stop was so rushed. The restaurant had a store and you could not even enjoy that with put people trying to sell you stuff. PUSHY!!! Save your money don't use this tour!
Our tour guide, Rachel/Wanting FENG is so friendly and knowledgeable about the places we went. The price of the tour is worth it. The places we we went were all amazing and the food was great and delicious. I want to go again. Luz and Alex
Alex was knowledgeable on the important areas of our tour and help us as well for our return trip to Tokyo via bullet train.
This is a very good tour. Wanting (Rachel) provided lots of information on Japanese culture and sayings in addition to lots of information on the places and sights we were going to see. The tour is well organized, and her English is excellent. I would highly recommend her and this tour to visit Mount Fuji.
Unfortunately we ended up being a very small group and did not end up with a guide, just a driver who had very little to say. This meant that we didn't get any information about the places we visited.
Hi, the driver did just that drove me and a few other day trippers to 4 locations, thankfully I didn’t order lunch, whilst I was keen to eat lunch the restaurant chosen by the booking company was ill prepared, it actually smelt like a morgue inside, which didn’t bode well to sit down and eat anything. All in all it was a great day out, because of the stunning views and the group I ended up befriending. I would do it all again but it would have been cool to gain some historical insights from the driver, rather than simply being driven from place to place.
Travelers be warned, tour was NOT as described, it shows an English speaking Guide and we had none, we were left in the hands of the driver who hardly spoke any english, we had to try and figure out on our own what we were seeing/going. Very disappointed.
This was an excellent tour, they certainly packed everything in on the planned itinerary before nightfall. Would highly recommend
Great day trip from Tokyo - the sites were all fantastic. Rachel was the most efficient, friendly, and helpful tour guide - overall great experience.
This tour was on my bucket list to do when I visit Japan. It did not disappoint and Alex is an awesome tour guide !
Other travellers were also excited and enjoyed the trip. At the end of trip, our return journey was by Bullet train, we'll managed by Ms. Laila.
Tour operator was very friendly and helpful. I took the opportunity to instead of going back to Tokyo, I caught the bullet train to Osaka.
This trip was the worst! The trip is labeled Mt Fuji 5th station and we got no where near the fifth station. Should have just been advertised as a trip to Lawson near Fuji. The guide was horrible. Had my family searching in a building going up and down an elevator looking for the van and when we got back to the meeting place the van was there. We could’ve missed the trip. We were heavily pressured to purchase items at the restaurant and opted for a no meal option and were pressured to sit and eat. The food was not very good at all! Totally not worth the price we were forced to pay. I would’ve preferred to eat at Lawson. Then we headed to Hakone but never saw any lakes near Fuji as advertised. The driver was driving very very very fast and the ride was bumpy and scary. I was then told I had to pay to enter a pirate ship and I showed my receipt that indicated the pirate trip was admission included. The guide was yelling at me and arguing with me in front of everyone. I asked why do I have to pay if I already paid and showed her my receipt. She refused to acknowledged any wrongdoing on the paperwork she had and insisted we repurchase tickets. We did. Then she led us onto the boat and sat us in the bottom and back of the boat. We were not told we could walk around and go to the top. By the time we did every inch of the place was full with people and no where to stand. The pirate ship we had to pay twice for was horrible because we really couldn’t see anything. After that the guide took us to the train station and gave us a tkt for the train and left. I would expect some customer service, guide us to which direction we need to go, nothing. She was the worst! I would not recommend this trip. As advised by the guide once I got to my room I submitted a refund. I was told it was approved but the tour company did not approve it. She was the one that said to submit the report for a refund in the first place! I don’t recommend this trip. Save your money or go with a different company.
Setsu our driver and tour guide was the nicest guide ever. He really helped me out when we got lost trying to find the meeting spot and went out of his way to call and physically go to my location to find us. The museum was wonderful, don’t forget to check out the 2nd floor for the majestic viewpoint. My mom missed out on it but she still thought the museum was the best part. Food options were fine and the bullet train was great. My one gripe however would be the Hakone experience. We went on a crowded sunny Saturday so it was packed with tourists. With our time given, we literally only spent 5 min up on the mountain, and spent 30 min in line to go up, and another 30 min in line to go down. No time for anything but quick photos and bathroom. Therefore we also missed the boat ride.. so just something to keep in mind. Maybe opt for a weekday and not during a peak season.
We had a wonderful time with KUN leading us. He explained well and gave us the highlights of each stop. It was also a relaxing tour and we did not feel rushed.
We enjoyed our day trip to Mr Fuji, Lake Ashi cruise and Hakone valley. It’s a shame the Hakone ropeway was closed due to strong winds. It would have been nice to see the Hakone valley view in the gondola ride. We’re still about to get the refund for it. Maybe next time the weather will be kind to us. Laila, our tour guide is amazing and very nice. She made sure everyone is accounted in every stops. The bullet train back to Shinjuku sums up the day tour experience.
1. Tour groups need to update their tours based on the season. 2. Learned after we paid $115.00 per person the tour was not going as advertised due to the season. You can not go to the 5th Station of Mt. Fuji in March. It doesn't open until the end of April. 3. We were dropped off at the Mt. Fuji Observation area.....only told what time to meet back to the van. Given no guidance that the 2nd level of the observation area provided views of Mt. Fuji. Attendees were left to figure it all out in a short window. Could have also provided other opportunities to see Mt. Fuji as well due to the deviation. 4. Ate lunch at 10:30 AM and were rushed out of the restaurant by its employees who hover over you while you eat because they want to clear the table for the next tour groups. 5. Took the pirate boat on Lake Ashi....was given the ticket by our guide and said go downstairs on the boat. Thats it. We all figured he was coming with us....nope. Learned we were bought a 1 way ticket and he had us walk 1 mile back to meet him at a location we should have gotten off but didn't have the correct ticket to do so. He was lounging in his seat at a 7-11 1 mile away waiting for us rather than meet us somewhere once we walked the mile. None of us in our group were happy! 6. Still on tour and have no idea how it's going to end....tour guide does not speak English well, can't drive, etc. I have never written a review like this but felt compelled to let others know when looking to go to Mt. Fuji with this company. I hope you have a guide who can provide a better experience than ours.
Leonard was a great tour guide. So nice and friendly. We got to see a lot of places and enjoyed the cable car and boat ride. Good way to see Mt Fuji too. What a cool mountain!
The restaurant we went to was a very pleasant surprise. Try and book if you know there is a clear day so you can see Mt Fuji
Joe, our driver and guide, was wonderful. He clearly explained directions for each stop and was always there waiting when we arrived. He drove very smoothly, which I really appreciated since I’m prone to motion sickness and the road to Hakone is quite winding. Overall, it was a great tour and a great experience. It was also very kid-friendly.
It was fun and sight seeing. It was interesting going on the cable car and seeing the black egg. Even though it snowed while on the event.
