Our guide YOSHI’SAN was FANTASTIC. He has an abundance of interesting information that he shared with the group and kept us entertained for the whole day. His assistant guide was also wonderful and the driver was wonderful. We knew immediately that we had booked the right company 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Itinerary
Our first destination is Mt. Fuji, the highest and most iconic mountain in Japan. Our goal is to reach the highest accessible point on the mountain. From late spring to late fall, we typically visit the 5th Station, located at an elevation of 2,300 meters above sea level, where you can enjoy magnificent views of Mt. Fuji. From late November to mid-May, however, the 5th Station is closed due to snow. In that case, we visit one of the following alternative spots: the Mt. Fuji World Heritage Center, or the 1st, 2nd, or 4th Station.
You are going to experience a unique and delectable Japanese-style lunch at a restaurant in Gotemba City. A vegetarian option is also available.
After enjoying lunch, we will make a short stop at a hidden local viewing spot of Mt. Fuji called Gotemba Heiwa Park (Peace Park). The park features many unique structures and monuments, as well as beautiful cherry trees. If you are lucky enough to visit during cherry blossom season, you will be amazed by breathtaking views of pink blossoms set against the backdrop of Mt. Fuji.
Owakudani literally means "Great Boiling Valley," and it is a renowned volcanic valley known for its sulfur vents and black eggs, which are eggs cooked in hot spring water.
After enjoying our lunch, we will visit Hakone, one of the most famous hot spring resorts in Japan. Our first activity in Hakone is a scenic sky gondola ride. It is a one-way cable car ride that takes us to Owakudani Valley.
Our final activity is a lake cruise on a stunning pirate ship! Let's enjoy a 30-minute boat ride that provides beautiful views of Lake Ashi, the iconic Torii Gate, surrounding mountains, and, of course, Mt. Fuji!
Our last stop is Odawara Station. Passengers taking a bus back to Tokyo will have a 10-minute break at the station. Passengers opting for the Bullet Train, or those with a Japan Rail Pass, will board the Bullet Train at the station. Your tour guide will provide information on how to return to your hotel after disembarking from the Bullet Train at Tokyo Station.
The bullet train ride from Odawara Station to Tokyo Station takes approximately 35 minutes, and you will arrive at Tokyo Station between 6:30 and 7:00 p.m. The tour ends at Tokyo Station. If you need any assistance, your guide will be happy to help you with directions for local trains or subways, or point out the nearest taxi stand.

Yoshi is the best tour guide we’ve had. He educated us not on just the event but historical and current culture of Japan. The problem was the pick up. We had to take a taxi to the pick up hotel. We were the only couple there. A lady took us to a taxi. She had to get off early to pick up some other people. She left us with money and the taxi driver who took us to another hotel. The taxi ride cost more than the money she left us with, so we had to pay by credit card. She reimbursed us with Japanese money, but as a foreigner, we have no use for the money.
The tour was great. Even though we were held up by traffic, our tour guide made great use of the time and adjusted accordingly. I would definitely recommend this company and this tour if you want to go to Mt. Fuji.
The Guide was very knowledgeable and super nice. Pick up at the hotel and everything included was perfect.
Wonderfull experience, Misha it’s a great guide, thank you so much for this tour
Yuki was an amazing tour guide and I would recommend her to anyone wanting to do the tour. She was absolutely amazing!!!
Yuki was our tour guide, she was AMAZING! Very knowledgeable and interesting. The trip went so smoothly with plenty of opportunities for great pictures of Mt. Fuji and other sightseeing moments. Thank you so much Yuki! I highly recommend this tour.
We had a wonderful experience. Our guide Kyoko was knowledgeable and fun to talk to. The ropeway in Hakone was our favourite part, it was so impressive.
A very long but fun packed day. We were picked up from the hotel on time in a comfortable coach. We went to Mount Fuji, had lunch at an authentic restaurant, visited Peace Park with shrines and beautiful gardens, went on a cable car and did a short lake cruise. The weather was not ideal but still definitely very enjoyable. We finished by travelling back on bullet train. The guide was great and very informative. Would definitely recommend.
An amazing day out, 10/10 all round! Pickup in the morning was smooth and on time (thank you to Asako for confirming the address) and our guide Yuki's knowledge and passion was second to none! She helped make sure the day ran smoothly and maximum sights and fun were seen. It was a brilliant trip, and fantastic value for money: would recommend to all. Thank you to Yuki and team for a fantastic tour yesterday!
Perfect trip with very nice tour guide!
Kyoto was an absolutely excellent tour guide. Her knowledge, command of language and sense of humor made the day exceptional.
The day was fantastic. Everything that we did was well planned & was certainly valur for money. Our guide was very knowledgeable about every place we went to. She went out of her way to help everyone. Was a fantastic experience.
Misha was our Tour guide on the 9 October 2026. We were extremely fortunate to have on our trip Ran. Ran was selected to represent Japan Tours. Ran wanted feedback and any suggestions from the tour party. : Efficient pick up service from Hotel. : Fabulous tour : See everything on a trip from The City hustle, Highway stress, the open rice fields the beautiful greenery, Rivers, and buildings..a bit of shanty towns along the way. : A lovely lunch : Pirate boat cruise, Volcanic Crater experience... : Bullet train.... And that's it ??!! Such a fabulous day, however a number of tourists on the bus were bewildered as we got off the train and. ABANDONED !! WE HAD TO FIND OUR OWN WAY BACK TO THE HOTEL late at night! Misha..you were wonderful. But I think there was huge CONFUSION and FEAR as you talked to us about catching subways and shuttle's/ bus.. Ran..this should not have happened. All that needed to happen was. Misha should have asked. 'Those wanting a taxi, follow me .I will take you to taxi stand..talk to the driver in Japanese, to take you to your Hotel. That was a easy fix. Days later we met some of the group..and they still amazed at what was really a simple thing. Remember, those on the tour were 60+ age. Using phones Apps etc was difficult. I hope Ran,you will be able to make changes to get a 💯% score. My score ...today 55%
A very easy way to see My Fuji and Lake Ashi. Comfortable coach ride and bullet train back. Guide was informative throughout, not only about the specific sights of the trip, but Japan generally.
Well thought out day, giving opportunity to visit several interest locations in one day Weather was great so we made highest visitor level on Mount Fuji. Unsurprisingly the day ran out of time and we missed the proposed timing for lake crossing on pirate boat. Last boat of the day, in the dark is uninspiring. This is a long day in the move and you need good energy.
A must do . Very reasonably priced for a whole day excursion with various spots at a relaxed pace , activities, to & fro transportation & meal. Commentary, from the BEST tour guide - Misha ,all along, about the history of the places and locals kept all of us engaged . Misha has a wealth of knowledge and shares it with you throughout the day .Hats off to the coach driver as well who at every stop would be present at the door with a smile while disembarking and getting on . Kudos to Japan Gray line for perfecting this day tour .
Fabulous trip. Packed so much into the day. Our guide was so informative and helpful!! Thank you Izzy. Great views of Mt Fuji and Hakone. Lunch was delicious....so much more than I expected. Thoroughly recommend.
Loved the whole experience. Misha our guide was fantastic. The lunch was a letdown . Very ordinary restaurant and food
Komiko was an amazing guide, the driver was nice and professional. This tour excesses our expectations and we will definitely recommend it to others. Everything about this tour was great, the locations, the lunch, the timing.
This was such a fantastic tour We learnt so much, saw amazing places and the Japanese lunch was delicious. It in truth was so much more than we expected. Loved the boat trip over the lake,Hakone was beautiful, and the bullet train such a bonus. The driver and tour operator went above and beyond to ensure all passengers had a wonderful experience. Anyone looking for a really good experience Book this trip. You will love it.
This was an excellent tour. It was fast- paced and lasted all day, but you get A LOT in. We did the add-on lunch and bullet train options. The lunch was delicious. The bullet train was awesome, and this is great way to add it in to your trip, if you are staying in Tokyo, just to say you went on the bullet train. We travelled as a family of 4 (2 adults, 10 yr old, and 6 yr old) and everyone enjoyed this tour.
I really enjoyed the tour and Yuki was very informative, kind and explained everything!
Amazing day trip! Yuki was an awesome guide—friendly, knowledgeable, and made the Mt. Fuji and Hakone experience so enjoyable. The lunch was also awesome. Everything was well organized, and the bullet train ride back was a great finish to the day. Highly recommend!
The greastest tour we have done. Yuki was a fantastic guide full of history and knowledge. Highly recommended and the bus drivers were faultless.
The tour was very beautiful and informative snd the guide was a very hard worker and did her best to explain everything and all of us in the tour were satisfied
Nice and stimulating experience of the nature of the country
Loved the experience! Special thanks to Ms. Yuki and Mr. Suda who were absolutely wonderful. Something you should do while in Tokyo!
Yuki is very detailed and has great knowledge about Japan.
Izzy was the sweetest, and very knowledgeable! We had the best day learning about Japanese culture, language and history. I would recommend this tour to everyone!
Yuki is excellent guide , keeping engaged with timely and valuable information.
The highlight of this day trip was our incredible Tour guide Ms Kyoko, a bundle of high energy. At an age when people would happily retire, what a hyper-active personality sharing thoughts, reeling facts, mathematics….oh what a treasure of knowledge. She also made us do a little origami exercise to build Mt Fuji reminding us of early school days. Mobilising everyone back to bus at every spot she taught us all what punctuality means. The final leg of Bullet train back to Tokyo was so neatly coordinated including how to change over to Metro or Taxi. She said she wanted to keep her acquired skill of English speaking intact, that’s one of the reason she does the guide role. A great inspiration and role model whom all of us salute. Thank you Ms Kyoko.
Misha was an excellent tour guide. She spoke great english and answered all of our questions. I highly recommend her and would love to book again with her in the future 11/10
Misha the tour guide and the driver (bus number 555) were outstanding! Misha is very professional and shares her knowledge with grace and politeness. All the stops were fun and exciting and Misha made sure we are always on time. I think the Gondola ride could have been a bit longer. I would highly recommend it! It was excellent!
Grey line is very blessed to have Kyoto!!! She is outstanding and a pro at her craft. I will highly recommend this tour to all visitors to Japan. Domo Arigato, Kyoko!
This was an excellent tour, our guide Kumi, was very knowledgeable and made everything run smoothly, Kumi went over and above to help us when we arrived at Tokyo, when we were unsure which train to take, she noticed us, and came to us to help, we were so grateful to her, and think she is a wonderful asset to your company. Thanks again Kumi! John and Linda Payne
I like the idea of picking us up from the hotel that is very convenient. Even though my hotel was not part of the 28 hotels listed, I was still able to find a hotel very close by. The tour guide IZZY was phenomenal, great sense of humour, I learnt a lot on the bus. For example Japanese greetings, how to count from 1-9 in Japanese, and the Japanese characters, very intuitive explanation by IZZY. Also the Japanese gestures and their various meanings. And my favourite part the Mount Fuji song 🤩. Truly IZZY made it easy. I will definitely love to do this again. The sites were great, maybe not the best time to go there, since there is a lot of steam coming out of the mountains, obstructing visibility. But overall it was very good experience. I will love to join this tour different time of the year, with less rain and steam, with probably better visibility of the mountains. Anyways, I still had a wonderful experience. Took beautiful pictures and videos. Great memories, … etc. And finally thank you very much IZZY keep up the wonderful work.
A day filled with many modes of travel: walking, bus, gondola, cruise, bullet train, taxi! Izzy was our guide and taught us many things on our 10 hour trip. She was constantly giving us information: we learned to count in Japanese , sing a song about Mt. Fuji, we had a set meal hot pot, learned about black eggs, etc. it was a cloudy, misty day- we could not see Mt. Fuji. She never left us and made sure we made it back to our correct exits from the train station! A wonderful day ! Our bus driver was also a very safe driver!
On 1st June 2026 my wife and I (visiting from Australia) joined this tour. Hotel pick-up was timely and we were taken to the group gathering point in Shinjuku. Thereafter our local tour guide Yuki accompanied us by coach to the various highlights, the 1st being the 5th station (topmost) on Mt Fuji itself. We were blessed with fine weather throughout and the various stopping points and lunch were all excellent. Yuki was knowledgeable, professional, funny and well organized, her commentary throughout the 10+ hour trip was fascinating. We had JR Rail passes so didn't need the Gray Line shinkensen tickets when the tour party dispersed. For a casual visitor to Japan / Tokyo this tour would not have been possible w/o a car and working knowledge of the Hakone area, so such a full day was excellent value for money.
The pickup at our hotel was extremely convenient because it’s rather early to try to get somewhere else for pickup. We had a slightly late start, but our pickup guide Kyoko was there for us to keep us updated. She was very knowledgeable. The main tour guide, Yuki, was great, but they need to turn up the volume on the PA a little. Yuki kept us on track throughout the day. The driver Ono-san was accommodating and stopped to let us get pics of the peak during a moment of sunshine. Both kids and adults enjoyed the various stops. The bullet train return to Tokyo was a great opportunity to ride one. Would recommend.
Our tour guide, Mikami, was very knowledgeable about all of the places we went and added fun tutorials along the way. She kept everything on time and was extremely helpful in guiding us after the bullet train. Mt Fuji is amazing, Peace Park gorgeous, gondola ride exhilarating, and boat ride relaxing. Amazing day!
Overall a great experience. This tour is best for tourists who would like to visit a variety of landmarks near Mt Fuji and Hakone before dinner time, but there is no brief hiking segment for Mt Fuji . Total trip took around six to seven hours. This guided tour cost about $160 per adult, which seems fair given the tour guide, bus driver, optional lunch meal, and admission tickets to account for. The Mt. Fuji stop may feel slightly short, there is no brief hiking course involved. The optional Japanese-style lunch felt very much like a comforting, home-cooked meal. The Pirate Boat Lake Cruise segment may feel out of place, but Lake Ashi was wonderful and the ship is practically brand new with plenty of observation decks provided for some fantastic views. The tour guide kept people engaged with interesting facts about the landmarks of this tour and Japan in general throughout the bus ride. I strongly recommend reading the details of the tour itinerary to better understand the overall scope of this tour and the depth of each stop. Our tour group had plenty of vacant bus seats, enough for us to sit wherever we wanted. If seeing Mt Fuji is your main priority, try to hold off on booking until you can check the most accurate weather forecast. I’d recommend checking the 24-to-48-hour visibility index or live camera feeds right before you reserve your spot. This tour is not for you if you expect to climb Mt Fuji even for a brief moment.
It was fun and the black eggs we interesting.
It was raining when we left Tokyo, so I wasn't expecting much. I told myself that even if we couldn't see Mt. Fuji, I would just enjoy the day trip. The guide was very friendly and shared lots of interesting information during the bus ride, which made the journey enjoyable. To our surprise, the weather improved as we got closer to Mt. Fuji. When we reached the 5th Station, the clouds had cleared and we had an amazing view of the mountain. Seeing Mt. Fuji appear after such a gloomy start made the experience even more special. It turned out to be one of the highlights of my trip to Japan.
Gave us a chance to experience multiple attractions that are far apart in one day. Real liked th Mount Fuji and Hakone cruise!
A fabulous day out. 8:30am-7pm.. Immaculate coach and informative guide.. Key stops at Mt Fiji, Lunxh, Shizuaka Peace Park, Hanone Goldola and thermals, Lake Cruise and returned to Toyko Station on the Shinkansen (Bullet Train).
Weather was good and the trip was very busy approximately 12 hour's the guide was fantastic very knowledgeable and the bus driver was good too. I would advise you take your own food though as the food we had was OK just.... so all in all a very busy day but well worth it
We had a lovely day on our tour with Izzy. She was very nice and informative.
We were picked up at our hotel and then experienced many different activities which was excellent. Should note that Gotemba Peace Garden is on top of a very steep hill. Only challenge for us was understanding the guide. He was very nice, helpful.
Really beautiful to get out of the city and see Japan's beauty! Our guide was very good and our driver was fantastic, driving us up narrow switchback in a giant bus. We had an amazing detour because the Hakone Shrine was closed. Instead we went to Fuji Heiwa Park. Absolutely breathtaking with the cherry blossoms and Fuji as a backdrop. Although a little hazy, it was still quite a site! Honestly, for a trip like that, let someone else drive and you enjoy!
