It was a very long bus ride as there was two extra hours due to traffic. Any stops that had market booths didn’t have enough time to look or get some of the food. We didn’t have supervised help to get back to bus and got lost. The tour guide was told to leave us by company. We were not told to connect on WhatsApp so there was no way to communicate. She should have been waiting for us at the crossroad needed to find bus. It was a horribly scary experience. And no attempt was made by guide to find us until passengers insisted she not leave us.

Get to experience some more traditional Japanese culture and smaller towns. Viewing Mt Fuji really depends on the weather , so look at forward forecast to try and get a non rainy day. Guide was good and the coach driver did an amazing job 👍🏼 Thia takes you places you probably wouldn't go on your own (maybe) so from that perspective the s a good value for money experience
A great day packed with all the sites you need to see when you visit Mount Fuji. Time management is very important and our Guide and Driver certainly did a great job. Lunch selection was also fantastic.
Very nice trip, starts early, Chen (the guide) was very helpful the entire time, was a very nice guide. She explained everything clearly and still gave us a bit of a leeway when it came to departure. I'd highly recommend this. Lots of beautiful views and nice small history lessons to boot.
Overall, the tour was quite good but with a couple of failings: 1) if you don't book the lunch, you're left wandering around for ca. 45 mins in a spot that's not that interesting, especially if Fuji summit is clouded over (which is most of the time). We took a packed lunch. The rest of the tour is then a bit rushed. Not sure why the lunch isn't arranged at a more interesting spot, so that those who don't opt for lunch have something to do. 2) the bus was tiny and cramped and we unfortunately got the seats over the wheel arch. An adult cannot sit in those seats., so one of us ended up on a fold-down seat in the aisle which was very uncomfortable, given it's a 2 hour ride from Tokyo. The bus is wholly unsuitable for anything more than a 30 minute ride. Whilst most of the itinerary was good, the above two issues undermined the whole experience. I do recommend visiting Fuji and the other spots, but not with this tour operator if they continue to use this bus.
Great tour and our tour guide was very informative and learned a lot along the way. Bus was vey clean and comfortable
The tour itself was a great way to view Mt. Fuji from the nearest town. However, please beware of the holiday weekend. The tour started at 830a, but we didn’t reach the first stop until 1230p. We was already 2 hrs behind schedule by the time we reached the first stop. We was given only 40 minutes to walk around and it was a lot of other visitors at the site. The next stop the tour group decided to skip since it will take an hour to reach the site. We ate lunch and quickly saw the lake until it was time to head to the third location (originally fourth). As a note, it is a typical viral photo area, so it will be congested with other visitors. The last stop the Pagoda was interesting. Please be aware that the trail and stairs are very strenuous and require at least 20-30min time to get to the top. Once we got to the top, it was congested with other visitors blocking the view. We only had 1hr and 10min, which an hour was consumed by the walk to and from the Pagoda. Lastly, it took a total of 6 hrs to get back to Shinjuku. Please be aware that they do not drop off at the original spot you was picked up from. We got back 1 hr before the trains in Tokyo stopped. Thus, if you plan your trip to Tokyo via this tour, do not schedule on a holiday weekend. If you do, be mindful of the extended time on the bus with little time to see any sites. The bus drivers and tour guides was very nice and accommodating.
Wonderful view and tour well organized. We enjoyed the viewpoints, the bus clean and the tour guide very lovely. Lunch was delish
We had a wonderful time on the Mount Fuji tour! The scenery was absolutely beautiful, and the tour was a great way to experience the area without worrying about navigating. Our guide was friendly and helpful, and the lunch was pretty good too. Definitely a highlight of our Japan trip!
Although the guide tried his best explaining everything in english, still not clear and can not understand what he was trying to say and explain.
The weather was not great so we didn’t see Mt.Fuji which was a disappointment. Otherwise it was a good tour. I was not happy that we were picked up at Tokyo Station but dropped off at Shinjuku which was not where we were picked up. Luckily we found our way back.
This is the best thing. Order food when offered. Travel time is a bit of hit and miss based on traffic. Nothing Viator can control. 1) Be on time at the designated spot. Japanese people are supremely punctual. 2) Be very respectful of local people especially in villages. They are very kind and inviting: don’t abuse their good nature and hospitality. 3) bring battery packs for phones. You will be filming non-stop 4) Bring Japanese Yen for small purchases. Our guide Eric San was so good and polite and just the kindest guy. He made our trip memorable.
The tour itself was good, although unfortunately it rained the entire time, so we were not really able to see Mount Fuji. Of course, the weather is beyond anyone’s control. Our guide was good and provided clear and interesting explanations throughout the tour. The biggest disappointment was the lunch option included with the tour. The food was terrible. It was supposed to be a beef bowl, but there was barely any meat in it. I definitely would have preferred to buy my own lunch and spend that extra money on something much better. Overall, the tour was good and the guide did a good job, but I would recommend booking it without the lunch option
Went to the meeting point on time and weren’t there. Apparently because of bad weather. It was my last day and didn’t offer a refund they only offered to reschedule which I couldn’t do.
It was good, except the top of the Mt Fuji was cloudy. We couldn't see it at all at Lawson's store, and the final stop there was a thunderstorm, so did not walk up the 384 steps to the pagoda to see it as it wouldn't have been visible. We walked up some of the way. Apparently, it's only visible 80 days in the year, so we were lucky to see what we saw.
Having a tour guide that has an interest in their work and a pride in their country, so much so that they want tour groups to have a great experience, makes all the difference. This is one of those tours. Highly recommended.
The weather wasnt great, the clouds obstructed the mountain. But I do highly commend the guide. He was fantastic. Guy speaks 3 languages and involved everyone. Give that man a raise immediately.
The bus parks very far away and there's lots of walking and then you go to the temple there's a long queue to get to the top to see the view and they wouldn't give you enough time to do that. If you don't take their food they will drop you at a place where there aren't many options for restaurants and make you walk even farther. Overall couldn't really get much time at the locations because of the extra walking from the bus parking area to the attractions. Felt very rushed and not achieved much.
The time of year unfortunately meant we didn’t see the Mountain You need to be careful of the time of year otherwise a wasted money
Our guide, Michiko, was very pleasant and knowledgeable. She was easy to talk to and was very responsible. The tour itself was amazing except for the Lawson stop. That was an unnecessary part of the tour. Otherwise, had an amazing time with my family.
We had a very bad experience on this tour. To be fair, we booked during a busy national holiday which made the travel time from Tokyo over 3 hours each way. This also caused each stop to be extremely crowded. So I would not recommend booking during the busiest times. The most unfortunate part of the tour was that after an announcement was made by the tour leader that each stop would have a firm departure time and if you missed the time you would be required to take a taxi to the next stop, it wasn’t enforced. At the first two stops the same family was late and at the 2nd stop they were 12 minutes late. When they finally arrived the man became extremely belligerent to other passengers including me. Everyone was frightened and upset. Nothing was done about it except the 2 people that were most assaulted were given a small cake. We had to continue the rest of the tour unsure of what would happen next with this man. In the other passengers opinion he should have been asked to leave the tour but he suffered no consequences. This tour was run by Japan VIP tours.
Good tour. Every stop was explained clearly to us. Departure time always displayed in the bus each time we stopped. Through the day, the clouds cleared up and so by the end of our tour we could see the top peak of Mt Fuji!
We had such a wonderful time. Chen was such a great tour guide. She was helpful and she did not leave anyone behind. My family and I will always remember experience.
Our day was amazing! Mt. Fuji was out in fill beauty for us as we journeyed around her. Our guide was very helpful.
It was a great experience! Had so much fun! Even though we did not see Mt Fuji we still had fun. Chen, our tour guide is so nice!
We have been waiting up the sign and there has been no bus. We are heartbroken. We have messaged the tour several times and rang them and no response.
What a fantastic day! We were in awe. The tour was organized, on time and very professional. Our guide, Eric was absolutely amazing! He was so attentive, knowledgeable, informative and protective; we felt completely comfortable.
We have had a great guide with a lot of knowledge and enthousiasm. She was very friendly and polite. Unfortunately Mt Fuji was not visible due to cloudy weather but our guide made our trip wonderful and rememberable.
It was a rainy day, but the bus left on time, and our guide, Mitsuko, was very informative, entertaining, and helpful. If she could make the rain and clouds disappear, she would, just so everyone could see Mt Fuji. Despite not seeing Mt Fuji, the rest of the sights were great, and the drive was smooth and uneventful.
Great tour, very informative of the places visited, well paced and very enjoyable experience. The lunch option was a lovely touch and can highly recommend. Wonderful guide and driver. Our guide was very knowledgeable, throughout the tour they imparted gems of information in connection with each of the sites we visited so that we were really able to get the most out of each location, great sense of humour, led the day very professionally and looked after all. Highly recommend.
Mich was friendly. Driver, Ron, was good. Be mindful that there are many steps going up the pagoda. Ordered lunch, shabu shabu, and was good.
Great tour - Eric was very knowledgeable and friendly and provided a lot of background to the places we visited
We had a nice relaxing trip to Mt.Fuji. The trip had four stops, with plenty of time at each stop. We bought the meal package and it was great. The only problem we had was the traffic coming back. It took about 4 1/2 hours to get to our drop off spot.
This was our favorite day in our two week trip to Japan! It was amazing to see the more rural side of Japan. The spots on the tour offer wonderful views of Mt Fuji. We couldn’t see much of the mountain but it still was a wonderful day! We did the lunch option with a hot pot and it was a fun experience. Our tour guide Eric was great! He offered good tips and was a fun tour guide.
I had a wonderful experience on the tour to Lake Kawaguchiko to view Mount Fuji. The scenery was absolutely breathtaking, and seeing Mount Fuji up close was truly unforgettable. Our tour guide was knowledgeable and informative, providing interesting insights about the area, its history, and the cultural significance of Mount Fuji throughout the day. I especially appreciated how well-paced the tour was. The guide ensured that we had sufficient time at each stop to take photos, explore, and enjoy the beautiful surroundings without feeling rushed. Their organization, professionalism, and friendly demeanor made the entire experience enjoyable and stress-free. I highly recommend this tour to anyone looking to experience the beauty of Mount Fuji and the Lake Kawaguchiko area. It was a memorable day and one of the highlights of my trip to Japan.
The guide and driver were really helpful and friendly. The pace of the tour was relaxed with plenty of time to spend at the stops along the way - we were lucky with Mount Fuji on full display until our very last stop. The optional lunch was excellent, well worth it. Great way to spend the day - see parts of Tokyo you wouldn’t normally as well as Mount Fuji!
The organization of this trip was excellent. The guide (Eric) showed up at the designated location and time, the bus was clean and comfortable, the size of the group was great. We had a glimpse of Mt. Fuji before the clouds rolled in. I can see how the stops on this bus trip would have been excellent for viewing Mt. Fuji if it had been visible. I was disappointed in our guide. He did not talk to us very much during the bus rides. I hoped he would tell us more about the areas we were driving through, including more info about Japan. For example, we saw what seemed to be rice paddies, but I am not sure. I would have liked to know how the people in the small towns outside Tokyo were able to make a living and why the houses were so large. I thought we would learn much more from him about culture and daily living. His English was difficult to understand. He seemed much more fluent in Chinese.
Great experience. Wonderful guide. Clear skies. Plenty of time. Food was average. Traffic was bad in the evening
Everything was great, the tour, the guide, the stops, the driver! The only thing was that I didn’t see the actual Fuji due cloudy weather. Otherwise everything was perfect!
An enjoyable but somewhat odd tour — you visit some “unusual” spots, and their key highlight is the *potential* views of Mt Fuji. Go for the lunch option; they all looked fab (& the tofu option was delicious). The guide & drivers were brilliant
We had a great time! It was a good way to everything in an organized way. It would have been nice to spend a little more time in each location but that is the nature of being in a tour group. Overall it was a fun experience to see everything.
The meet up was a nightmare as there were so may groups there and no one seemed to be able to find who they needed. I luckily heard my name from Miss Pan and we were in the bus. There must be a better system for meeting up, there were so many stressed people all tearing their hair out. The trip was fantastic, good commentary from Miss Pan seeing the village was informative and enjoyable. The other stop was hectic so many buses there, so shop and ice cream shop had huge queues so we gave up on that. The flowers there were Beautiful! The stop for lunch was enlightening, we hadn’t tired out cooking are own meal before but it was an enjoyable experience for us. There was roadwork hold ups on the way back but the driver was superb throughout and got a well deserved clap from all.
Very good tour saw mount fuji from all angles. Flower garden was lovely, traditional Japanese village was a bit run down and neglected.
We enjoyed visiting Mt. Fugi and the surrounding area. Beautiful mountain. We also enjoyed a Hot Pot with beef and vegetables at a local restaurant that was included in the tour. Our tour guide was informative, helpful and friendly. Would definitely recommend this tour when visiting Tokyo.
There was light showers when we went and unfortunately, Mt Fuji was not visibly clear. What’s unforgettable is the whole experience that we had with our tour guide. He was informative, friendly and entertaining. We had a pre-ordered lunch of wagyu beef and it was great. The whole tour was fantastic. I might have to do it again.
My friends and I were very disappointed because we were left by the bus. We were all seniors ages 69, 73 and 75. We got there at 1040AM and the tour guide told us to meet back at 1120 at the meeting place with the bus leaving at 1130. It was our first time and there were so many people. The tour guide should have told us not to go far up the stairs. We went down as fast as we can but since we're not young and with so many people it was harder for us, though we got to the entrance before 1130. The tour guide should have waited for us in the meeting place not by the bus stop. The bus stop was at least 20 minutes away from the entrance of the site. This was a very disorganized tour. We should have used some form of gadget like wisper, audio, or Vox so we can follow the leader. Also, the first half of the group including us left to start walking to the site and she left us there so she can get the other half. Very disorganized. At the end, we walked going to the bus stop hoping we can catch it but it was hard because the route she took us from the bus to the site was like a short cut not the main road. We were able to reach the bus stop with the help of other tourists but the bus was gone. We got lucky to be able to go back to Tokyo with the help of this other tour lady. I strongly expect that you will reimburse us of our expenses. It was the hardest day of our vacation in Japan.
Everything just felt too rushed The guide was good just overall we didn't have enough have time for each place
Tour and places visited is great and very interesting. Driver was great, the tour guide was like none existed.
Great Mt Fuji 🗻 tour! Viator’s chat support was amazing and answered all my questions right away. Pickup was easy, the bus ride was comfortable, and we got to visit so many beautiful spots with spectacular views of majestic Fuji San, especially with today’s bright sunny weather. Our guide Yuki san was super friendly and shared so much interesting info about the area and the five lakes. Such a memorable day! Thank you, Viator.
5 hours of traffic to get there and return. Still a glorious tour of Mt Fuji and surrounding places. Weather was great so couldn’t have gotten pictures any better than what we took. Lake stops were beautiful and even lunch was wonderful. Touring typical Japan village an added delight. Bumper to bumper traffic going home but the whole day trip was worth it.
