The tour guide and driver were excellent. Very easy to work with. The car was excellent and comfortable. The tour I wouldn’t say was Custom or Gem. The stops and restaurants weren’t memorable at all to be honest. It was a very long and expensive tour to see four star items - so it’s hard to give this tour five stars versus all other tours I’ve been on. There was nothing at all special or memorable about this tour.

Fabulous, Amazing, Incredible! A non-stop adventure to enjoy the spectacular Mt. Fuji!. I let Mazda-San tailor my tour to see Mt. Fuji; he drove me around the most beautiful spots, and he was great at checking the best weather conditions to get to each spot and enjoy the breathtaking views… Mazda-san, thank you so much for the amazing trip! Will treasure it in my mind and heart. You are an amazing tour guide.
It is a long but rewarding day. Our guide, Yoshi, made the most of the long ride from our hotel to the first Mt Fuji viewing spot. She brought photos and drawings that explained Japan’s history and the formation of Mt Fuji over time thru multiple volcanic eruptions. There was lots of communication prior to the tour as there are many options to the stops for the day. And even after we settled on out itinerary, Yoshi made some last minute adjustments to compensate for a rainy and overcast morning. We chose as our last stop the tour of the Sake brewery. Yoshi along with the expert driver, Toshi, ensured we arrived at our reserved tour right on time. Toshi provided a steady ride thru heavy traffic and narrow winding roads throughout the day.
We had the best time with Tadashi-san and Toshi-san! Both were incredibly considerate and we very much enjoyed learning a bit more about Japanese culture during our tour. If you are looking for great conversation, a lovely tour of key sights surrounding Mt. Fuji, and delicious foodt at smaller towns that might not have crossed your radar, I highly recommend this tour!
Súper helpful, and very nice guide and driver
Even if we couldn’t see the fuji mountain it was a great trip. We went to visit the falls, the ice cave and it was a funny activity. The lakes around Fuji. And we eat un a great place.
Yes, this tour is on the higher side financially, but the value you receive is unmatched. Starting the day with a seamless pickup in a spacious, incredibly comfortable van sets the perfect tone for an adventure. Our Guide, Noriko: She was the absolute cherry on top! Even days before the trip, our Spanish-speaking guide went above and beyond, checking the weather daily to ensure our Mt. Fuji views would meet expectations. Her care and dedication made my wife and daughters incredibly happy. Our Driver, Toshi: A true gentleman and an artist! Not only did he surprise my daughters with awesome gifts, but he is also an expert on the 1970's Mazinger-Z Series and gave me an incredible breakdown of the series history. On top of his great personality, his knowledge of the roads around Mt. Fuji and the Five Lakes was nothing short of exceptional. This wasn't just a tour; it was a deeply personalized, unforgettable memory. 10/10!
We had an amazing tour with Tak and Motoko. Their knowledge, warmth, and kindness made our family’s experience truly memorable, and our son especially loved spending time with them. We learned so much, had a wonderful time, and would highly recommend their tours to anyone visiting Japan.
We had an amazing Mt. Fuji tour with Noriko and our driver. The views were stunning, and Noriko’s flexibility and local knowledge led us to beautiful waterfalls and viewpoints we would have otherwise missed. Our driver was excellent, sharing insights about the area’s vegetation, restaurants, and shops while navigating with professionalism and care. This was one of the highlights of our trip to Japan, and we highly recommend them!
Very enjoyable day. Toshi and Julie are a good team and anticipated everything we needed. Great conversation and very knowledgeable. Relaxing day and great people!
I definitely recommend Miho and Toshi for your day trip! We had so much fun! Memories will last a lifetime!! Everything was extra special!!
What an amazing tour guide! Mazda made our experience 100% more enjoyable than seeing it with a tour of us. Thank you for all of your knowledge and historical information. I highly recommend anybody coming to Japan seeking out his service!
We had a wonderful day with Ayaka! We were grateful to being able to customize our tour as we wanted to go on the Mishima Skywalk and we couldn’t find any other tours Hakone tour that included that spot. Ayaka and our driver, Toshi, took us to see the Mishima Skywalk, Hakone shrine, a cruise on Lake Ashi, and finally the Hakone rope way cable car ride to see the Owakudani hot springs. It was a full day! I especially appreciated how Ayaka took the time to talk to each of us, not just the parents but also our 3 young adult children. She really made the effort to engage all of us and to make sure we all enjoyed ourselves while learning things about Japan along the way. She was very kind and gracious. We had a great day. Thank you, Ayi!
Very personable and kind. Mr Yamagishi was very respectful and engaging to be around and despite inclimate weather made it a memorable experience. Amazing experience.
Tomomi is an excellent local guide who maneuvers around the interests of the guests and any needs that may arise. She and our driver Toshi who is an experienced driver navigated many hidden venues to capture a view of Mt. Fuji, a local sake brewery and an excellent local winery. Many thanks to them for an excellent day despite the rain.
We had seven family members and our driver Tak-San met us on time and spoke very good English. He was friendly and a wealth of information for the entire day. Our guide Yuko-san joined us at the Mt Fuji Heritage Center. She also spoke excellent English and had a very extensive knowledge of the mountain and the area around it. We enjoyed great views and photos from fifth Station as well as from a couple of the lakes below the mountain. We had a wonderful lunch with our guide and driver at the 55Steak restaurant which included fun banter and much help with our Japanese phrases and understanding. Yuko-San communicated with us extensively before the trip to help us decide where to eat and what to expect for temperatures and weather. We had a fantastic trip!
We had an incredible experience and were lucky enough to see the stunning Mt. Fuji. The trip was both enjoyable and informative, and Yoshimi, our guide, truly made it special. She was exceptionally friendly, knowledgeable, and welcoming throughout. Her English is excellent, which made everything smooth and engaging. Highly recommended, especially with Yoshimi as your guide.
During this tour we were able to view the beauty and majesty of Mount Fuji from different points. We were very lucky that it was a sunny and clear day, and very lucky to have Yoshimi as our guide and Toshi as our driver. Yoshimi and Toshi made this trip super fun, exciting and educational. The trip was tailored to our preferences, and included door to door pickup and drop off. It truly was a dream come true experience focusing on the beauty of the Lake Kawaguchi area at springtime with cherry blossoms in peak bloom. Also notable were the sake tasting, lake cruise, and lunch stop at a local typical restaurant. I recommend this guided private tour to anyone who dreams of viewing Mount Fuji in comfort.
This was an amazing tour to experience the majesty and beauty of Mt. Fuji and its surroundings. Our guide Yoshimo was incredibly knowledgeable and helpful. This was a customized tour which allowed us to see and do everything we had dreamed of. The stop for lunch at a local traditional restaurant was an added delightful experience, as was the sake tasting. Overall, an excellent tour!
Great experience visiting Mt. Fuji with the family. Yoshi was a very accommodating and knowledgeable guide. Our driver Toshi was also top notch -- funny guy. Excellent local stops (food/views) in addition to the expected tourist stops. Highly recommended. Well worth the fee.
This was a very memorable tour. Our guide Yumiko was amazing! She was very knowledgeable and explained things very well. She took us to a great vegetarian restaurant and showed us many hidden sites. Our driver Tak was very experienced and took care of us really well.
Our tour guide was excellent. We got an informative tour and great explanation of the history of Mt Fuji. Kids had a great time as well. We are vegetarian so she took us to the most quaint , fresh and good vegetarian plant based food!
We had such a fun experience! Our guide Moto was so kind and very flexible, letting us make choices about our activites as we went along, and helping us find all the best, least crowded places with beautiful photo spots. He found a cute & yummy place for lunch. We appreciated his answering our many questions and that English was so good too! Luckily we had gorgeous, clear views of Mt Fuji all day as we explored the area. It was also a treat to have such a comfortable and safe ride. Very pleased!
My guide Kaz was exceptional as was the driver. We had a fantastic day visiting Mt Fuji and also a few out of the way spots that were wonderful. Kaz is very knowledgeable, professional, friendly and polite. We stopped for a lovely lunch of buckwheat noodles and tempura. He educated me on Japanese culture and customs which was so important in understanding the country and people. I had a fantastic day!!!
Kaz was amazing. He made our first day in Japan memorable. He’s very knowledgeable and appreciate him sharing Japans culture and customs!! The Hidden Gem was beautiful and the caves were special. Our 360 view of Mt. Fuji was unforgettable!! So glad we did this tour and had Kaz as our guide. Cheers to Toshie our driver who kept us safe on our drive. Definitely recommend this tour!!
I had an amazing private Mount Fuji tour with Yoshimi. As a solo traveler, I loved being taken off the beaten path to beautiful viewpoints and small local restaurants and coffee spots most visitors never see. Yoshimi was warm, personable, and very knowledgeable, and her driver was friendly, fun, and excellent. With clear views of Mount Fuji, it was truly an unforgettable day. Highly recommend!
Can’t say enough about our guide and our driver, Yoshi and Toshi. Great tour of Fuji customized to what we wanted to see. Learned a lot of history from Yoshi. We did not get a view of Mount Fuji as it was covered in clouds but we still enjoyed the tour very much. The lunch stop was amazing. Thank you Yoshi and Toshi for lasting memories of Japan.
We came as a family of 7 (5 adults and 2 kids) on the Mt. Fuji day tour. We wanted something that would allow for everyone in the family to have fun and enjoy the day. Our local guide was Yuko. She was very knowledgeable and helpful in providing several facts during the tour. Our bus driver Toshi was also very friendly and made the ride very pleasant. I would recommend this tour as it allows for a more comfortable and relaxed experience for both adults and children.
We visited Mt Fuji and Kawaguchiko Lake during our recent trip to Japan. Yumiko was our guide, Toshi was the driver both of whom gave us excellent company by providing us great information and insights about Mt Fuji and the surrounding areas. We went to Arakura shrine, Chureito Pagoda, Kitaguchi Hongu Fuji sengen shrine, Hana terrace and were on a boat ride on Kawaguchiko lake. All along, Yumiko gave us so much background information on what each of those shrines is known for, their history and significance sprinkled with some funny anecdotes. We had so many good family pictures too, at the right locations, thanks to Yumiko. Toshi took us to a couple of spots that were off the main path, and which provided great views of Mt. Fuji. Last but not least, Yumiko took us to a very authentic Japanese restaurant where we had Hoto noodles and Unagi. Oishi 🙂 We also were quite lucky that it was a clear sunny day. We could go up to 4th station from where we had excellent views of the alps and the Pacific. Arigatho Gozaimasu Mrs Yumiko and Toshi. See you next time when we are in Japan.
My family had an incredible experience today touring the areas around Mt Fuji with our guide Mazda!! We had two adults, two teens and a child. Mazda was so kind and attentive to our interests and needs throughout the day. His suggestions for the best activities (and which activities to avoid) were spot on. When adjustments needed to be made in our plans, he was very flexible and accommodating. He was genuinely excited to share with us the history and culture of Japan. He knows all the best photo spots and took so many great photos of our family. Mazda was even kind enough to help me book Shinkansen tickets for the next day. I was having trouble booking online so we stopped at a quiet station at end of the day so he could help me. We accomplished so much in one day - I can’t even believe it - chureito pagoda, lake kawaguchiko speedboat ride, Oishi Park, Healing Village, tree ocean (forest), wind and ice cave, world heritage center, lunch and ice cream!!! This really isn’t possible at all if you try to do it with public transportation or a group tour. I think a private tour is ideal for seeing the Mt Fugi / kawaguchiko area. We were also lucky to have a beautiful clear day with blue skies. We will treasures the photos and memories from today always.
Our family had a wonderful tour to Mt Fuji with Ayaka who was a delightful guide - very informative and flexible in accomodating our wishes. I wouldn’t hesitate in recommending the tour !
What an amazing tip to Mt. Fuji with best ever Driver, Toshi and Local Guide, Tomomi! The day started off early with drive to Mt. Fuji and Toshi kept us happy and informed throughout the drive. We even got the best views of My.Fuji as we were driving into the Mt. Fuji area. Then we met the wonderful Tomomi, she is the best guide ever. She tailored our trip to include Fuji Q Land because my daughters simply love Anime and there is a special area for Naruto. We also did a volcano bat cave and visited the surrounding lakes. One of the highlights was also the Kimono Museum, it was breath taking. Thank you to Toshi for keeping my little one entertained on drive to and back from Mt.Fuji. Thank you to Tomomi, you made our day. I positively recommend this tour and Toshi with Tomomi as your driver and guide.
Tosi and Yuko made our trip to Mt.Fuji wonderful! They are both personable and knowledgeable. We learned all about Japanese history and culture as well as some Japanese words! Tosi found us a great Ramen restaurant for lunch!
Tadashi-san was an exellent and our driver Watanabe-san was also excellent and they suggested slternative sites when the weather was not cooperating to see Mount Fuji. Tadashi -san was very informative about Japanese culture and the place he suggested for lunch was excellent as was the ice cream at the dairy farm.
Our private tour of Mount Fuji was unforgettable and truly special. Our guide Tomomi went above and beyond to make us feel welcomed and cared for throughout the day. Because of her local experience, we were able to avoid most traffic and crowds and truly experience Mount Fuji in such a wonderfully personal way. What made this tour stand out was the guide’s genuine kindness—to ensure our comfort, and make this experience very memorable. They took us to many beautiful viewpoints and mostly away from the crowds to hidden gems. We highly recommend this experience to anyone looking for a memory of a lifetime.
Amazingly informative and pleasant tour and day! We had the best day with our guide, Yuko, and driver, Tak. This was our first trip to Japan so we have been on many tours so far and Yuko was one of our favorite guides. She was very kind, accommodating and full of information and interesting things we never would have learned any other way! She and Tak took special care of our kids and made sure they were entertained and learned some Japanese language and facts about Mt. Fuji. Even though it was foggy, we still had a great day and did some other unique activities like picking grapes and tasting wine. We all had a wonderful time and are so lucky we were paired with such an awesome guide and driver.
Our private car tour to Mt. Fuji and Lake Kawaguchiko with Masae (guide) and Toshi (driver) was absolutely fantastic. From the very beginning, Masae’s communication stood out—she carefully tailored the itinerary around our interests and even factored in the unique timing of the Fire Festival on the day of our visit. Her message to us set the tone for the entire day: thoughtful, flexible, and focused on making sure we experienced the very best. On the day itself, Masae’s guidance and Toshi’s expert driving made the trip seamless and stress-free. Masae’s knowledge of the region, combined with her warm and accommodating approach, allowed us to enjoy each site without feeling rushed. She adjusted plans as needed based on the weather and traffic, ensuring that we could make the most of every moment. Toshi was a wonderful driver—safe, reliable, and always ready to get us comfortably from one highlight to the next. Together, they made a fantastic team, and we felt completely taken care of throughout the journey. If you’re looking for a memorable and personalised experience to Mt. Fuji, we highly recommend booking with Masae and Toshi. Their professionalism, flexibility, and genuine care turned a great trip into an unforgettable one.
Tak was the best This was a good way to enjoy exploring It was a good time. The surrounding areas weeds fun to visit. One of the best tours
Our private tour to Mt.Fuji was excellent. Both our guide Noriko and our driver Toshi were terrific. They made the tour both fun and educational. Our entire family loved it.
Kaz is an amazing tour guide. He is full of knowledge about Japan and so kind and caring. We enjoyed spending the day with him and the driver was also amazing and accommodating. We are so lucky to have them as our guides for the day.
This was a fabulous tour even with Mt Fuji covered in clouds. Hiroko was such a lovely, informative, and happy guide. She gave us a really great info session on Japan’s history with maps and visual aids on the way to our destination that made the whole experience more meaningful. She and our driver were so fun and helpful finding extra things to do while it was raining and because My Fuji was obscured. Because our driver was familiar with the area he was able to recommend a wonderful traditional steak house for lunch where we had sumptuous Kobe steak and wine. Hiroko helped me book Shinkansen tickets and stayed in touch with us over the following days recommending other things to do. She even took pictures and sent me a detailed itinerary of our trip so I could organize everything afterwards. Wonderful day!
Yuko and Toshi looked after us on an amazing day. Both guide and driver are super friendly, engaging and keen for us to have a great experience. Despite the weather, we still managed to great great views of the allusive Mt Fuji. Highly recommend
Our guides Yoshi and Toshi were excellent. Yoshi reached out the night before to check our pickup address and they were early at our door to start the tour in the morning. We learned a great deal about Japanese history as well as the history of Mt. Fuji and the surrounding area. Toshi showed us many interesting landmarks and one of the area lakes where we saw baby Mt. Fuji. The lunch spot we went to was amazing with great service and huge portions. The tour offered many choices for customizing the tour. However, when I gave my choices I was told it could not be done within the time limit for the tour. Even with the high price of the tour, I was told to pay more if it ran overtime. It was only because of the excellent service and enthusiasm of Yoshi and Toshi that I felt I received my moneys worth. I am so glad we saw the important sites on my list. We did not get to see Mt. Fuji as the weather gods were not in our favour but the tour was well worth it.
Yoshi was very informative and a very fun conversation. He knew a lot about all the cites we went to see, stats, and more! While doing all this he stayed professional and calm. A true guide!
The guide and driver were friendly and knowledgeable. They also provided flexibility during the tour to add surprises along the way that made the tour even more enjoyable. I highly recommend this tour.
Our family had a nice relaxing trip with Tadashi-san. His english was very good and his preparation beforehand was great. Making sure about specific locations of interest and dietary requests. We really appreciated that we visited many spots that were not crowded. The driver, Inagaki-san, was also excellent. asking about motion sickness and warning before windy stretches. we got two nice angles of Mt Fuji while also visiting temples/shrines and eating local noodles. Oishi park was crowded but Tadashi-san found a nice quiet spot to enjoy the delicious peach ice cream (strawberry was awesome as well) highly recommend
We had a great day, our guide was fun, and flexible. He showed us around Mount Fuji, and the surrounding area, he was knowledgeable. Perfect day.
Wow… words cannot begin to describe what a fantastic experience we had with Yoshi san! We had such a wonderful time visiting Mt. Fuji 5th station, with magnificent views of the summit, as well as other areas close by including Lake Kawaguchi, Oshino 8 ponds, the Narusawa ice cave and Ide Sake brewery. Yoshi san proved to be an excellent tour guide; her knowledge of Japanese history is vast and so my family and I learned a lot during our tour. We had a lovely lunch at a charming local restaurant with a spectacular view of Mt Fuji. I highly recommend this tour!
Our guide Yuko and driver Toshi are just wonderful! We had a great trip! Although the weather was not ideal, we learned a lot from our guide and driver. They are extremely friendly and knowledgeable.
Yuko was an amazing host, communicated everything clearly and well in advance. Everything was very well organized. She was friendly, helpful, knowledgeable and took care of us. Toshi, the driver was also amazing. All in all, highly recommended.
