This was a full day tour from Tokyo, meeting at the 'Love' sculpture. Very comfortable coach drove us to Mt Fuji. Our guide was a retired gentleman who was very witty and funny and made the experience! We were lucky with the day to get wonderful clear views of mt fuji. Next up was Hakone where we took the cable car (the lines were very long so he made the call just to have us go up and not back down so that we didnt miss our pirate ship ride). Very thankful for that as we were not keen to have those huge lines again. Pirate ship ride was amusing although it wasnt why we booked and probably couldve been left out. We are not too keen on full day tours, would much rather half day. Taking the bullet train back was great as it got you back a bit quicker.
Great day, Our guide was Imran and ge went above and beyond to make our day special. We went to a lot more places than we thought we would be, he was a guide not just a driver. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend him. Car was clean, safe driving. Great lunch. Very happy.

This private tour fits us perfectly. My husband have trouble walking so I took this tour. Prem is our tour guide he is amazing person, he answered everything we want to know. We wanted to see Mt. Fuji, he suggested to start the tour early to we can see perfect view of Mt. Fuji. He is right we seen Mt.Fuji without clouds, amazing. I would recommend this privately tour.

Prem brought us on a day trip to Mount Fuji. He was very knowledgeable and helpful. Unfortunately we didn’t get to see Mount Fuji as it was covered in cloud! However Prem brought us up in a cable car (again cloudy!). Still a fun day with Prem
We had an amazing day on our mount Fuji daytrip! From the minute we were picked up by our guide Ryu, I knew we were in for a great day! He suggested a pick up time 1hr earlier than planned to avoid city traffic and crowds for the first stops of our tour. This worked out great, and so I would definitely recommend! We wasted no time getting to the first stop learning more about Japan through our very knowledgeable guide Ryu. Throughout our tour Ryu was very thoughtful, he made sure we got the most out of our daytrip, accommodating for us to spend more or less time at stops to suit our needs, making lunch stop recommendations and offering to take our photo without us having to ask! Ryu has over 20 years of experience with these tours and this was evident to see from his passion, knowledge and his interactions with local business owners. Although fuji was not visible for the vast majority of our trip we still thoroughly enjoyed all the sights we visited. This daytrip was more than just Fuji, we experienced culture, lesser known beautiful shrines, and speaking to local people. It was amazing to see a more rural Japan, an escapism from the hustle and bustle of city life for the day! Weather did unfortunately throw the second part of our day off course, rain meant we were unable to take the ropeway at Hakone or take the Bullet train back to central Tokyo. However with this being said Ryu suggested a very similar alternative of taking the ropeway at Lake Kawaguchiko instead and we did a very exciting speedboat ride across the lake. This felt like the perfect end to an amazing daytrip! Would definitely recommend this tour to family and friends and to request Ryu as your guide!
My husband and I had an amazing tour with Imran today! We started early to beat the traffic and get the most out of our day. Imran was friendly, knowledgeable, and flexible throughout the entire tour. He made sure we experienced the highlights of Mount Fuji and Hakone without ever feeling rushed. One of my favorite parts was the fun speedboat ride on Lake Kawaguchiko, followed by a delicious lunch. Imran made the long day comfortable and enjoyable, and we truly appreciated his excellent service. We highly recommend him to anyone visiting Japan!
Wonderful day today - Our guide , Prem was excellent; he took us to Mount Fuji, Shrines ,Hackney,gondola trip to the top of an active volcano, and a cruise on a Pirate ship !!- all in a calm collected way.and to finish it off,we had a trip on a Bullet train as well. If you want a day to remember, book Prem.for this amazing trip - we need more guides like him ! 10/10

As someone who lived in Japan for a few years, I really appreciated Prem’s knowledge and insights. Since we spoke English, he was an excellent bridge when communicating with Japanese speakers and was very well spoken. He was also incredibly helpful, even taking the time to show us how to navigate the train stations and use the ticket machines, taken family photos. We packed so much sightseeing and so many great experiences into just one day. Visiting Mount Fuji and the surrounding areas was absolutely beautiful, and we made some unforgettable memories along the way. Prem was our guide today. He showed up promptly to pick us up from the hotel. He asked for our input to tailor the itinerary to fit our expectations. He was very very kind and patient. The car was comfortable and he was a skilled driver. Towards the end, my daughter and I got off at the wrong station using the cable car and he was kind enough to drive an additional 15 minutes to come rescue us. I enjoyed the laid back pace of the trip. He gave helpful information throughout the tour. We had a lovely day. My daughter is a teenager and she really enjoyed the trip and appreciated the slower, laid back pace where we didn’t feel rushed from one site to another. I highly recommend Prem and this trip by visitor.
Our day out included a 3 hour shopping and lunch at Gotemb outlets shops, a ride on Hakone Ropeway, a cruise on Lake Ashi and finally returned to Tokyo on shikansen bullet train from Odawara station.

The tour guide customized our tour exactly to our needs—very well paced and comfortable. We were even able to see spots that were not as busy and beat all the bus crowds. He always asked us if we needed anything-very accommodating. This beats taking large tour group buses as you can stay as long as you need at certain spots and have pick up at your hotel too! No need to deal with transfers and such.
We had an amazing time during our full one day trip, touring various sites and shrines between Tokyo and Hakone while enjoying the views of majestic Mount Fuji . Our guide and driver, Ryu, was extremely knowledgeable about the sites and the Japanese culture - we learned so much. Ryu was very respectful and spoke perfect English. We highly recommend this or any tour with him!
It was a great day. Tailored to my preferences. A great mix of locations, good advice on what to spend time on, what the specialties of the area. Great tour guide with lots of knowledge of what I was seeing.
They don’t tell you you have to have a lot of cash on hand for the different parts of the tour that only take cash. Be sure to bring plenty. My guide told us nothing about what we were seeing so I didn’t feel like I even had a tour after spending all that money on it. The only positive thing was that he was a good driver.

It really was a very good tour. Our tour guide made several very good recommendations such as leaving earlier than the scheduled pickup time to beat the traffic and crowds at the stops. The shrines and lakes were beautiful and the tour was full of history. Although Mt Fuji was almost completely covered, the tour guide and the speedboat captain shared some of their personal amazing pictures of it. The only “issues” we had were the tour guide was very quiet and it was not clear that we were responsible for buying the return bullet train tickets(they’re $20 a piece so not a huge deal). Neither of these made the trip any less amazing!

I found this tour on TripAdvisor and I was interested in a private experience and chose this tour based on previous reviews. My partner and I were picked up at our hotel by Ryu bright and early to beat traffic heading out of Tokyo. The car ride was very comfortable, and the experience was spectacular. We visited several locations, including the Chureito Pagoda, Kitaguchi Hongu Fuji Sengen Jinja Shrine, and Oshino Hakkai. The village was stunning and Ryu introduced to local vendors. We also visited the 5th station on Mt. Fuji. Ryu was warm and welcoming, and provided so much information about each site we visited. He took so many lovely photos of us as well, which was greatly appreciated. We ended our trip taking the bullet train back to Tokyo which was a wonderful. I would 100% recommend this tour, and my partner and I would gladly book with Xplor Japan again and if we were able to see Ryu again that would be wonderful! Thank you for everything.
If you do this tour, you have to have Ryu! He is professional, funny, accommodating and 100% knowledgeable about all things Japan. Our group didn’t necessarily have a plan when Ryu picked us up from our hotel but that did not matter as Ryu gave us a ton of options for the day. We were so impressed with his knowledge of the area we toured and he introduced us to new sites and a lot of fantastic ice cream! We booked this trip the day before so we were so happy we were actually able to see outside of Tokyo on a day off from our work trip. The bullet train was a fairly short ride, but well worth the experience. If you have the chance to book this specific trip, do it and try to request Ryu!

Very Helpful Guide that leaves you with nothing to worry about and explaining all you need to know.So!you can just concentrate and take the best shots; bare in mind a good weather is very important other wise Mount Fuji will be covered with clouds.
We had a fantastic day with Ryu visiting the Mt. Fuji area. He made great suggestions and we visited all the best locations for seeing Mt. Fuji and learning about its importance to the Japanese people. Ryu also was able to share a lot of interesting perspectives on life in Japan and gave us great insights that helped us understand this interesting country better. We were lucky to have a beautiful day and our views of Mt. Fuji were amazing. Since it had just snowed a couple of days before, we had the added treat of seeing snow on the ground and on rooftops in the surrounding area. Ryu also recommended a terrific lunch stop. This tour was very well organized and returning to Tokyo on the bullet train was very efficient since we could avoid the traffic and get back sooner on the train than by road. Well worth the price and highly recommended!

We had a great experience & saw many wonderful places. He also catered us by giving us choices of where we wanted to go and how long we wanted to stay at each location. Great tour guide - had a wonderful day visiting an area outside of Tokyo. Transportation was clean and comfortable. However, it would have been nice to also have an English speaking tour person in two of the other vehicles so they would have had learned more about Japan and where we were visiting. Would highly recommend our tour guide.

Our guide Ryu was absolutely fabulous. He gave us a running commentary about Japan culture, explained everything at each stop. Took many photos for us. Our welfare was his main concern. Escorted us to the bullet train and looked after us completely. It was a wonderful tour and we can highly recommend Ryu and his company.

Ryu was the best guide we could have had. He was very thoughtful, funny, and lots of knowledge. Because the rain and clouds made it impossible for us to see Mt Fugi and a couple other attractions, Ryu found us alternatives. It was a long day for him to redirect everything but he did it with grace. We had the best time and will come again and ask for him.
