Lake Kawaguchi is the most popular of the Fuji Five Lakes, renowned for its stunning panoramic views of Mount Fuji from the shore. It has the longest shoreline among the Fuji Five Lakes. On a calm, clear day, you can see a perfect mirror image of Mount Fuji reflected in the water. In 2013, the lake was added to the World Heritage List as part of the Fujisan Cultural Site.
Experience the breathtaking beauty of Japan’s most iconic landmark aboard the Mt. Fuji Panoramic Ropeway. The Mount Fuji Panoramic Ropeway ascends 400 meters from the eastern shore of Lake Kawaguchiko to an observation deck near the peak of Mount Tenjo Yama. From the observation deck, which is situated over 1,000 meters above sea level, you can enjoy panoramic views of Lake Kawaguchi and Mount Fuji. Reminder: The Mt. Fuji Panoramic Ropeway will be closed for annual maintenance from December 7, 2026, to December 18, 2026. During this period, the itinerary will include a visit to Saiko Iyashi-no-Sato Nemba instead of the Mt. Fuji Panoramic Ropeway and Kawaguchiko Tenjoyama Park.
Discover the magic of Kawaguchiko Tenjoyama Park, a stunning mountaintop retreat that offers breathtaking panoramic views of Mt. Fuji and Lake Kawaguchi. In addition to its spectacular views, the park is rich in folklore and entertainment. Enjoy activities such as a scenic swing, clay disc throwing, and a small snack shop. Don't forget to pay your respects at the Usagi-jinja, also known as the Rabbit Shrine, before visiting the playful raccoon-themed café.
Oishi Park is a beautiful scenic area where you can enjoy a stunning view of flowers, Lake Kawaguchi, and the majestic Mt. Fuji all at once. The lakeside promenade features various flowers that bloom according to the season. On the west side of the park, the "350-meter-long Flowers Road" offers a vibrant display of colorful blooms throughout the year. At the end of Flowers Road, you'll find Kochia (summer cypress) that flourishes from summer to autumn, making it a popular photo spot. Throughout the year, the park showcases 90 different types of seasonal flowers, with various blooms visible at any given time. As you stroll along the promenade surrounded by flowers and gazing at Mt. Fuji, you'll feel a sense of tranquility.
On the second floor of the Kawaguchiko Natural Living Center, you will find a unique perspective where you can easily capture the magnificent picture of the red torii blending with Mount Fuji.
Oshino Hakkai is a village known for its eight clear spring water ponds, which are recognized as one of the "Top 100 Famous Waters of Japan." It is classified as a Natural Monument and is part of the Mount Fuji World Heritage Site. The eight ponds are fed by snow melt from the slopes of nearby Mount Fuji. As the water filters down through porous layers of lava for over 80 years, it results in exceptionally clear spring water that the locals deeply value. Visitors can taste this magical spring water for free, feel its sweetness and purity, and experience the legend of longevity.
Famous park in Fujiyoshida City, Yamanashi Prefecture, Japan. It's known as one of the 21 places that photographers from all over the world must visit in their lifetime. The Chureito Pagoda is a five-storied pagoda on the mountainside overlooking Fujiyoshida City and Mount Fuji. To reach the pagoda, visitors must climb nearly 400 steps, but the panoramic view from the top is considered one of the best in Japan.
The shrine was built in 705 and has served as the guardian god of Arakura Village for over 1,300 years. It is a sacred place of worship where people seek protection against bad luck, promote harmony within their households, and pray for safe childbirth and successful child-rearing.

This tour took us to the area near Mt. Fuji; Lake Kawaguchi, Lake Yamanaka, and some other scenic local villages with interesting sites. At this time of year, Mt. Fuji is typically covered with clouds but we were able to see the beautiful snow covered top half of it from the bus on the way to the first stop, Lake Kawaguchi. At every stop, we enjoyed walking around the scenic area tasting some locally made snack items. At a beautiful village of Oshino Hakkai, a scenic group of eight crystal-clear spring ponds located between Lake Kawaguchi and Lake Yamanashi Prefecture, we got lost and could not get back to the bus on time, but Sia, our fabulous tour guide patiently guided us back to the meeting spot using WhatsApp video. At a small village by the local train station, Shimoyoshida, we went into a cafe restaurant, Ichi-Ann, situated inside of a gorgeous Japanese traditional house with original Japanese garden in the back. We had delicious locally made ice cream with our coffee and sat and enjoyed coversation with the cafe owner in this amazingly well-restored 150-old architecture. That was definitely the highlight of our tour. Overall, the tour was well-planned, well-operated, and provided us with an excellent journey into the country side of Japan. I highly recommend it.
Highly Recommended! An Unforgettable Experience! Our tour guide, Sia, was absolutely wonderful! She was very friendly, sweet, and accommodating throughout the entire tour. Unfortunately, due to the weather, we weren't able to catch a glimpse of the majestic Mount Fuji, but that certainly didn't take away from the overall experience. It was our family's first time visiting Japan, and we truly enjoyed every moment of the tour. Sia made the experience even more special with her warm personality and thoughtful gestures. She's as sweet as the candies she shared with us! ❤️ We would definitely book this tour again on our next visit to Japan. Highly recommended, and thank you, Sia, for making our first Japan experience so memorable!
We had a great mount Fuji and rope way day tour which was a fantastic day and great value. We had a brilliant tour guide MIO. And for us she was the perfect guide.
Sia was amazing! Her warm bubbly personality made the trip very enjoyable. She was knowledgeable about our tour locations and even gave us tips and recommendations on how to make our first trip to Japan more memorable. When I come back to Japan to visit, I hope Sia is our tour guide. For now, sending love all the way from Washington DC.
A very pleasant day, wonderful views, a very nice atmosphere, and good organization on the part of our guide.
We had a change to have a clear view of Monte Fuji . Too bad that we got to the best place at dusk .
Kevin Liu was our tour guide, he was extremely knowledgeable and professional and with a sense of humor. He had patience with some of the passengers who were late. Always courteous with a smile on his face. The coach driver drove very competently and with great care, I felt safe the whole time
Nice but season is not that good I believed
Sia was our tour guide for this trip - she was funny, entertaining and informative - would recommend taking the time to run through this tour - we were lucky and got a clear view of the top of Mount Fiji Let’s gooooooo!!!!!
Excellent. Tour Guide Sia was excellent and polite. Bus driver was also amazing.
This is a must if you only have a few days to experience Japan. The tour packs in a lot without feeling rushed. Taiyo was an excellent guide. He made the tour engaging, and kept on top of communicating the itenerary or any changes.
Logistically well organized and punctual. The staff was nice, smily and clear when communicating. However, I was disapponited because I booked this tour since it was called a "guided tour". My idea was to learn more about mount Fuji and the zone, receive some more information from a competent person, hear some local naturistic/geographical curiosities that I can't read in internet. No such a guidance was provided even if there was perfect time for that during 2h travel in the bus. When I asked some questions our guide or didn't understand me or didn't know the answers. The local "curiosities" were just advices where to go buy an ice cream or a suvenir, or where to do a photo. I would expect that the lunch break would be organized in the proximities of one of the points of the interest (so who wants to lunch in preselected bar - have a lunch and who doesn't - takes advantage to have some more time for sightseeing). Instead, it was next to the road with a rather heavy traffic, with nothing to explore in proximities. So or you order a lunch in the single restaurant available there or you just wait for others to finish their lunch. Just such a waist of my time... I would recommend this tour only for those who need logistical accompaniment.
Sia is a very caring young woman and my husband and I felt well looked out for. Though the hike was not doable for us, she encouraged us to at least attempt 1/2 and generously took our photos to. Sia was great!
We got unlucky: it was raining the whole day, and Fuji was fully covered in fog and clouds. But the locations we visited otherwise would have allowed good views and photo opportunities.
An excellent day out that took us through beautiful countryside with forested mountains and valleys providing a lovely contrast to the bustling city of Tokyo. Our guide, Mio, had set up a WhatsApp group for us to help us easily find the right meeting place. This helped as everyone arrived early so we set off ahead of time. The first stop was at the cable car and Mio got the tickets and ensured we got in the queue for the cable car. We had a spectacular view of Mount Fuji as the sky was clear. For lunch at a restaurant, Mio had taken our orders and sent the details to the restaurant so, when we arrived, all the lunches were ready for us. Another stop was at Oshino village. It was initially very crowded but we found quieter streets with interesting buildings and features. The last stop was Arakura Fuji Sengen Shrine, near Fujiyoshida. There was a pagoda at the top after a walk up the 400 steps, which was a challenge. Unfortunately, the viewing platform was packed and the sun was at an awkward angle but it was still worth it to get some classic photos of Mount Fuji. At the lower viewing area (only 80 steps up), there were shrines and interesting features all set among the woodland. At each stop, Mio explained clearly where to go and what to see that would be of interest to us. We always knew where she would be if we had questions. She also (via WhatsApp) sent us the location of the coach (which was very comfortable) in case we forgot how to get back. It's the first time we have had a guide do this and it was very helpful.
Our guide Sia was amazing from start to finish. We set off right on time in the morning and she communicated clearly with our group throughout the day. We had a cooperative group and thanks to her clever time management, we got to see every stop without ever feeling rushed. She even taught us some useful Japanese along the way, which was a fun bonus! Despite a bit of rain here and there, we were lucky enough to see Mount Fuji clearly. Thank you Sia! We’d be happy to recommend it to anyone visiting.
Sia was incredible. She was very kind and knowledgeable throughout our whole trip. It was a very fun experience. Meeting spots were exactly where they said they’d be. Lots of different places to stop and take photos and buy souvenirs. It was good value for the money. Sia went above and beyond to make it memorable!
This was such a fun day trip! Nice break from the city. The Japanese countryside was lovely. The hike at the end was a little tough, so maybe it should be one of the first things to do instead of the last thing.
We had a really great Day. Sia and the driver couldn't have been more helpful and lovely - thank you both. Our day was topped off with a clear view of Mt Fuji which from what I understand isn't always visible. Now back, kids tired and happy - bonus.
This was a great full day experience. The tour was generally well organised and Taiyo was great. Although some of the stops were very touristy with 10+ large buses stopping at once making them very crowded. Lunch was great and was on the table waiting for us when we arrived at the restaurant!
Sia was very kind, patient, and knowledgeable. We had a great day, we’re glad we had the tour with her.
Good tour. Great guide Sia. Highly recommended. Thoroughly enjoyed mount Fuji and surroundings, good weather helped.
Sia was so helpful, kind patient knowledgeable, and funny. She brought good energy to the tour would definitely go on another tour with her in the future.
Moo was very attentive. Remember our names and answered our questions. She did additional research helping several of us plan future excursions. She was very friendly and shared historic insights.
Excellent trip. The guide was very knowledgeable, kind and friendly. In each stop he made sure we knew our way back and he helped us with all details. The driver was also very kind and patient to drive all day in a huge traffic. Hundred points to both!
Tailor was a great guide and took extra care of us, making sure that we get the most of our tour.
First time in Japan but my sister and I are having a blast. Unfortunately, we didn’t get to view/see the Mt. Fuji🥲. However, we are grateful for the nice dry warm weather during our Japan trip this week. Belle was so understanding and nice that when we thought we were already lost at the group’s meeting place this morning, she was able to assist us promptly. BELLE DID AMAZING JOB GUIDING THE GROUP, INDEED!
Good experience. The room is very clean and is well located. Very recommended.
Very enlightening. We learned a lot about the Japanese culture as well as the Japanese language. Very good experience
Our experience provided sensational scenery and very worthwhile stops. We had a day where roads extremely busy but our guide managed to fit the best of the tour in. Our tour guide Augustin kept us entertained and well informed throughout the day.
Everything was good Very helpful guid Enjoy the trip on Max
Very nice sia is an outstanding guide and very helpful
It was terrific! We went to 4 sites. Saw Mt Fuji's glorious cap. The clouds lifed. Everyone cheered! It was so exciting! Our guide, Sia, was professional, courteous & knowledgeable about all our stops. Lunch was done well. Food was good. Just FYI: all the stops had a lot of walking. If you have trouble walking uphill, climbing steps, just a 5 minute walk, then you should maybe think twice about this excursion. Other than that, it was perfect
Sia was a fantastic tour guide. She explained each location we stopped at, taught us a few helpful Japanese words and provided tips to make the most of our time. I would highly recommend her as your tour guide. I would also recommend checking the weather ahead of time before booking as this will impact your view of Mt. Fuji. We were fortunate to go on a sunny day and had multiple opportunities for clear views of Mt. Fuji. A day me and my friends will never forget.
Excellent. Great locations and we were able to see Mt.Fuji. Sia, our guide was good as well. Lakes were lovely. The climb of 400 odd steps was tiring but fun. Overall very good experience
We had a fabulous tour with Sia. Mt Fuji cleared while we were there and we saw the top clearly. There were 4 of us: Joni, Steve, Gord & Susan. Great day had by all! Arigato, Sia.
Didn’t get to see Mt. Fuji due to overcast. We had a late start also which resulted in us not seeing one of the attraction.
4 different stops, all interesting and beautiful. Well worth the money. SIA our guide was knowledgeable, a more enthusiastic or happier person you will not meet.
Taiyo is a friendly and helpful guide. He helps to take photos and explain every detail clearly. He also ensures we are all back at the bus n remind us of departure time of every spot.
Our guide is very kind and knowledgeable about the all tour. I appreciated a lot and recommend it. 👏🇧🇷🇯🇵👏🇧🇷🇯🇵👏🇧🇷🇯🇵
Momo was super friendly and explained in detail at the start and till the end and keep engaging with tourists. I had a different experience just because of the weather It’s mostly cloudy and mist so I got an experience of travelling Germany alphs area rather mt Fuji in Japan. And it’s worth too to experience a laid back experience with mystic weather and cloudy mountains Surprise to see how clean all the locations. Kudos to Japanese and also tourist respect to that Never had opportunity to see mt Fuji at all but still liked the trip with different experience Over all worth going but plan your trip considering weather conditions which no one controls
We had a great trip! Eric our guide was very helpful and kind.
Our tour guide managed Taiyo managed time very well. We were able to hit all the attractions very efficiently. We were able to see Mount Fuji even the weather forecast was overcast. The driver is very professional and the shuttle bus is clean. The tour is well worth it.
Our experience was tiring but absolutely fantastic! Our tour guide, Taiyo, was amazing. He was incredibly detailed in his guidance, deeply helpful, and accommodating to everyone's needs. For example, he always offered to take photos for my husband and me when there was no one else around to help. We truly appreciated that kind gesture.Taiyo also did an excellent job managing our group, giving clear, detailed instructions at every point to ensure our team moved seamlessly from place to place. He even took care of the food logistics and made fantastic recommendations, ensuring a smooth and wonderful experience for all of us. He is incredibly friendly, warm, funny, and absolutely amazing at what he does!
Oliver was an amazing tour guide! He took great care of us and gave us great expertise into the areas we visited. He was very communicative and helpful before we met in the morning. The day trip excursions were well organized, well timed, and absolutely beautiful!
The experience was amazing and Belle was an informative guide! She ensured everyone was where they were supposed to be, offering to take pictures, while also providing history and context on the locations. I could tell that she enjoyed the experience as much as I did. The rain was a bummer, but Belle made sure that we still had a great experience. Additionally want to thank Dankuhaku, who Belle was training, because he was also helpful and supportive by offering to take pictures and offer his umbrella. I would 100% do this experience again.
Thankyou for the experienced tour guide Carter and careful bus driver who contributed a lot to have a great day for us.
We had a great day with Akimi. She made the trip very fun. She even brought perfect weather with her and with it perfect views of Mount Fuji ALL DAY LONG. Now most people won't be so lucky. Apparently Mount Fuji likes to hide a lot. Perfect day trip. Thank you Akimi.
Tim was so friendly and knowledgeable. We had the best day, very well organised and great value for money. I would highly recommend.
