The experience was amazing and the instructor gave us a lot of useful information and history about mochis. The tasting at the end was fun we could see who was the better cook in the family. Everyone should try this activity.
Very nice experience, the guides were very nice and informative about the mochi history in Japanese culture
This was a really fun experience. We enjoyed making the different types of mochi and getting to know the guide. It was a bit far from our hotel in Shibuya but easy enough for our grab cab to find.
What a great class for all ages. My teenage kids had fun learning how to make mochi and taste testing a variety of them.
It was so much fun to make the mochis and learn about them. The instructors were both so sweet and patient.
We had a wonderful time with Kiyoko! My teens and I love mochi, and this class was such a fun and memorable experience! We loved learning about mochi’s history and its role in Japanese holidays, and it was super fun and exciting to make several different kinds, including many we had never seen in the U.S. we got to take great pics for the memory book and will def try doing a mochi making party for our friends when we get home! Kiyoko even showed us what ingredients to buy and where we could get them. Highly recommend!
A wonderful experience. We learned so much about the history of mochi and the meaning behind the different types of mochi as well.
Great experience, easy to find. we enjoyed learning and interacting with Japanese culture in a tasty way.
Great experience with warm and friendly instructors. They even managed to be very patient with my 4 year old. It was so well done and organized. Highly recommend!
Owa was a great teacher and spoke very good English. She made the art of making mochi seem quite easy - great class for beginners. I liked that she taught the philosophy behind wagashi and incorporated real world examples of where mochi is part of Japanese festivals and holidays. The best part was getting to eat a bunch of mochi at the end!
The three of us enjoyed making mochi in different forms and tasting our efforts. It was great to hear from our teacher the symbolism and importance of mochi to Japanese culture and traditions. A very worthwhile and reasonably priced activity suitable for children over 10.
We are a family of five and has a fun time making and learning about mochi. The experience was all very well managed.

This was an amazing experience! Yukka was very kind and pleasant to be around. She was very informative and helpful! Our group learned so much about mochi and had a blast making it! Absolutely recommend!
What an excellent experience. Yukka was so kind and friendly. Her directions to find the class were very helpful. We learned a bit about mochi history as well as when mochi is traditionally eaten. We watched her make the mochi and then prepared three kinds ourselves. She prepared savory mochi for us. We also tried warabi-mochi with brown sugar syrup. Everything was excellent. 10/10 excellent experience.
Wonderful instructors and such a fun class. My kids (9 and 12) throughly enjoyed it! Thank you!!
I had a great time. The host was delightful, her studio is very pleasant and easy to access. I learned exactly what I wished to know about wakashi. The best part was the degustation after class, of course.
We learned so much about mochi and had fun making it with a very small group of 4 students. It was a great way to spend time with my 10-year-old. At the end you are served tea along with the mochi you made. It will likely be more than you can eat. Owa is a wonderful instructor!
Tucked in a nondescript apartment building, a delightful culinary experience awaits! Waka, our cheerful instructor, taught our family how to make 3 different kinds of mochi treats. Her assistant, whose name escapes me, was very kind. She helped my youngest daughter with some of the trickier mixing steps. We learned a lot about the history and tradition of mochi in the Japanese culture as well!
What an enjoyable experience! We are a family of Six, Grandparents, Parents and 2 kids aged 7 and 10 and we all gave this experience a 10 out of 10. This class is held in a great little studio Kitchen and is a fun hands on experience that we all enjoyed so much, from the history of mochi, to the cooking technique, to the eating and enjoyment, we did it all, would highly recommend !
The mochi making class was so interesting and fun! And DELISH! Walka’s class was part educational and part cooking, we learned about the history of mochi and created four types of mochi. My entire family - spanning grandma, husband, and my teen - enjoyed the class so much!!

This was such a fun experience and we learned a lot! The teachers were so kind, helpful, and went above and beyond to ensure everyone genuinely had a great experience. The mochi is absolutely delicious! We learned about new ways to eat the mochi and the cultural importance of mochi- it was so cool! I would definitely recommend this to everyone. They also offer seasonal classes which focus on the fruits and holidays of the season. We went during strawberry season, it was excellent!
Who would have thought making tasty and photogenic mochi would have been so much fun? We made several different kinds of wonderful mochi, from the dango to the strawberries. Our hosts were knowledgeable around the how and why along with being patient as we made a mess of their kitchen. Bonus? We got to eat it all when we were done!
Highly recommend this mochi-making class - accessible location, small group, fantastic teacher and we made so much mochi. It was delicious! I am not a strong cook, but it was very easy to follow along.
This was an absolutely amazing cooking class! The class takes place in a beautiful private kitchen with a very welcoming environment. Chef Michiko-san is very professional, friendly, informative and knowledgeable. I was completely impressed with her professionalism, knowledge and high skills. She is incredibly kind and friendly, making the entire experience even more enjoyable. She explained everything with so much knowledge and clarity, making it easy to follow each step. She started the class with a fantastic presentation! The Presentation had very valuable information and I genuinely learned a lot. The information presented was new to me and incredibly useful. We made different kinds of mochi and all were delicious. My favourites were the Strawberry Daifuku with White Bean Paste and Mitarashi Dango. You will also get a PDF with Mochi Recipes that you get to keep to try again at home. The cooking itself was awesome but it’s chef Michiko-San that really made it special. I left feeling very happy and will not forget this wonderful experience. It’s simply a wonderful cooking class. The activity exceeded my expectations. I highly recommend it. Thank you very much Chef Michiko.
